Subject: LSJ Conference Call 1/24/11
Jeffrey,
Thank you for the call this morning about the Main Residence Living Room/Pool . Here's
what we discussed:
• Minimum ceiling height within the living room to be 18'. The ceiling is to be "flat" (not
vaulted like existing bu8ldings. Structure may be exposed, as long as the bottom of the
beams is no lower than 18'.
• Vestibule area may have lower ceiling height, similar to existing buildings if appropriate.
• Keep floor level of living room building at +59' for now. Overall height of the building
could be taller than main residence if necessary. If living room level needs to be dropped
2' to reduce the overall height, this needs to occur for the entire building (no "sunken
living room").
• East side of living room to have doors matching west side. North elevation to have large
center window and side doors, similar to the Santa Fe living room. Omit side windows and
fireplace at south elevation; add center window matching new north elevation. Swing
doors at living room into building, not out.
• Pool balcony, and deck below balcony, can each have 8' ceilings. Overall pool ceiling
height can be reduced if living room is lowered.
• Omit center stair from pool balcony down to pool. Indicate symmetrical stairs down
along north and south sides of pool.
• Exterior elevation similar to Option A "flat" version. Roof can be flat or sloped, but would
be mostly concealed by parapet. Vestibule area should be similar in appearance to
existing buildings.
• Exterior design should be in the same family as existing buildings; no Mission Style.
• Indicate parking areas for ATV's and Smart Cars at north pool entrance and service road.
• Indicate stair at northwest corner of main residence terrace, down to pool entrance.
Gary, we are planning to send some updated sketches of this mid-week (our end of day
EFTA_R1_00534518
EFTA02026554
Wednesday). After that, we need to review the overall schedule, and which consultants we
want to re-engage. We are also drawing some concept plans for the Spa and Flagpole
Pool, based on Tom's discussions with Jeffrey while on the Island, and will send those out
at the end of the week.
Thanks,
Warwick
