From 1999 to 2008 she worked in New York, where her husband Gerhard Pfanzelter was occupying the post of Permanent Representative of Austria to the United Nations. During this time, she served as the President of the United Nations Delegates Association (UNDA) and the Vice President of the Women's International Forum (WIF). She studied microeconomics and majored in entrepreneurship at the University of Vienna.
