So we have selected two artists that we believe could be for you. The first is a light and video artist. Please look at his work carefully as we think he could be commissioned to make a site specific piece that would be projected onto the island, the trees and also onto clouds or smoke. This would create a sub world that only comes to life at night, creating different themes and atmospheres. Tony Oursier - The Influence Machine The idea is to have something commissioned that is similar to his spectacular project, The Influence machine, that first appeared in Madisson square, New York and subsequently in Soho Square, London. In his works the motion picture filmed with a video camera is projected functioning on a laterna-magica basis as in the 19th century theater. His work is represented in numerous U.S. museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, as well as the Tate Gallery and the Saatchi Gallery in London and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, among other prestigious private collections worldwide. She works on site and creates sculptures using her body in a performance. Naked she works clay or plaster from inside literarily using her physicality to make sculptures. She could made artworks directly on site that will be accompanied by a video piece filming her performance. Juliana Cerqueira Leite Juliana Cerquiera Leite, is a very hot artist of the moment both in the UK and US. Her ideas stem from an exploration of science and dimensions of body in space, as well as its movement, discipline and endurance. The process is influenced by 18th to early 20th century discoveries and ideas in science and philosophy. Juliana's work is figurative yet formalist at the same time; the clay acts as a memory of the action, eternalized in the cast. Her work is included in the Saatchi collection and currently in discussion to become EFTA01157450 part of KASS Foundation in Goodwood in 2012 We would like to propose two following sculptures by Juliana Cerqueira Leite. Both pieces are from her past series of work. Pull Up Plaster, 170cm We propose that this piece is to be made in an alternative material, such as bronze. The plaster sculpture created on site would be used as as a model for the bronze cast. This will be the first bronze sculpture made by the artist. Oh Latex, Cheesecloth 214 x 214 cm We are currently in discussion whether this work can be made as an outside sculpture. Please get back to us with your thoughts as soon as you can.
