John,
Good to see you at DA. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me.
Below are the updated numbers for our ProgressNow National c3 and c4, as
well numbers for our c3 and c4 for nine states: CA, CO, FL, MI, MN, NM, OH,
WA & WI.
It does not include the new states that are beginning operations now through
our national which are AZ, MO, NH, NV and PA
I think this could provide a huge opportunity to both hammer the earned
media in key states this year and be a critical piece to build permanent
progressive infrastructure.
I also spoke with Susan McCue today how this could be critical part of the
national nerve center for the long haul.
Call or email me if you have any questions.
Have a nice weekend.

Confidential May 15, 2008
ProgressNow is seeking $2.15 million as soon as possible to leverage $2.23
million of investments in nine states -- California, Colorado, Florida,
Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Ohio, Washington and Wisconsin - for the
following:
24/7 Hard Hitting Press and New Media:
When citizens take action, they make news. Working with our active network
members and partner organizations, we take action to generate press on
issues of importance at the state and local level. Combined with the
creative use of new media and online video, including YouTube, we change the
public dialogue, promote progressive ideas and counter right-wing
misinformation. In 2008 we hit the ground running, branding targeted
conservatives before they brand themselves and mislead voters.
Voter Outreach and Electoral Impact:
We activate our network members in cutting-edge voter-to-voter outreach,
using the Internet to increase capacity for getting out the vote. And we
share information we learn about voters through our online actions with our
progressive partners to enhance the national voter file. In 2006, we were
recognized by George Washington University's Institute for Politics and
Democracy for the best online Get-Out-the-Vote campaign. In 2008 we have
plans to assist all of the America Votes Partners and work with Catalist to
launch an unprecedented targeted virtual canvas and online GOTV campaigns.
State and Local Online Civic Action Network:
Tip O'Neil said it best: "All politics is local." Nothing motivates citizens
to action more than an issue with immediate local impact. By engaging people
online around state and local issues year-round, ProgressNow is building a
permanent power base of networked citizens who are making change happen. In
2008 we are focused on issues that cross party lines, we're reaching beyond
"the choir" to engage new voters for progressive causes and candidates.
Below is the current size of each state network, a breakout of our 2008
budget, the amount raised to date, and the amount needed for our national
and each of our states. If there are additional states you wish to add such
as Arizona, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oregon or Pennsylvania, let's
discuss.
I look forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely,
Michael Huttner
Executive Director
