this is the first essay on why I w=nt to move in Paris and attend AUP (300 words)
What attracts you the most about coming =o The American University of Paris and how do you believe the
experience of living in Paris will change you?
My mother is from Paris and I have been to Paris on many occasions. I feel strongly connected to this European
capital from many perspectives, includi=g family and education.
Among my most recent visits to Paris, there are a few fashion shows that I attend=d: in October 2013 I attended
Chanel's spring and summer ready-to-wear=show and in January 2014 the Chanel and Valentino haute couture show;
then in November =014 I attended the Parisian Debutantes Ball (representing Chanel), where I met people from across
the world. Every time I spend time in Paris I was able t= feel how vibrant and beautiful this city is and how much it has to
offer because=of the artistic and historical richness of Paris. I have benefitted from also living in Rome, which is where I
initially developed an appreciation for ar=s and culture, museums, the opera and discovering Italy's wealth of cultu=al
offerings very soon, realizing that I wanted to pursue my passion for art history at AUP.
Attending The American University of Paris would also represent the natural evolution=of my education, both
received at home and in school: my father is Italian but=my mother is French and thanks to her I attended the French
Lycee in Rome= earning a French Baccalaureat with a major in Economic and Social Sciences. I =m fluent in Italian and
French, but also in English because I studied it in school a=d mastered it during my frequent trips to the United States,
where my two stepbrothers live. I have been exposed and appreciate the American culture =ecause of my internships

with Bulgari's US office, in Los Angeles and the Ferragamo US PR department in New York City. My family origin and the
education I received seem to lead me to an American University in Paris where I will be able to put my skills into practice
and pursue my academic objectiv=s and goals.
Studying art history at the American University of Paris would be a great opportunit= to further discover the
French culture. I believe that the education I will acquire by completing an AUP undergraduat= program, coupled with
additional internship experience, will equip me with all neces=ary skills to achieve my future career goal to work in the
art or fashion indus=ry.
