Dear Mrs. de Jongh:
Vice President
Rev. Rod Koopmans As you advised, I am resending Heather's letter and attaching our "Wish List" as
to our needs to move into the world of technology. The timing is perfect as two
new teachers have been hired for the next year with considerable skills in the field
Treasurer of technology. We took great care in compiling our list.

We know we are asking for a lot, but in truth, many of our students don't have
Secretary access to computers or the internet at home which hinders their education. This
Wendy Garcia would be a giant step forward for them and for The Kingshill School.
The laptops and Kindles will belong to the school and the students will be asked
Bonnie Anderson to sign a responsibility pledge to take care of them. We will periodically inspect
the laptops and Kindles to ensure they are in working condition and being cared
Eric Jacobs for properly.
Our list of needs:
lka Schierlolt
32 student laptops with wireless capabilities
6 teacher laptops with wireless capabilities
38 computer cases
Wireless capability (Linksys?) for the school. Most likely only one router needed.
40 Kindles with cases
1 - 5 wireless color printers/fax/scanners that all computers could access
Printer ink
Printer paper
Microsoft Office for Students
software that enables power point presentations
software for graphic design ("PrintShop" —type)
2 large flat screens that can be plugged into teacher computers (for large group
viewing)
1 audio-visual cart on wheels (for storage and easy access to rooms)
1 Smart Board
Thanking you for your attention and concern--
Sincerely,
kickAtuukcerniotAt,_

Rev. Rod Koopman!
Treasurer Dear Mrs. de Jongh,
Francine Crukkshank
On behalf of the Kingshill School, I'd like to thank you for allowing me and my
three class mates in Ms. Bonnie Anderson's journalism class to interview you on
Secretary February 12th. We understand how valuable your time is and appreciate the
Wendy Garcia
opportunity. We enjoyed getting to know about your interests, accomplishments
and beliefs.
Bonnie Anderson
We have become very interested in your suggestion for small schools like
Kingshill to strive for the use of Kindles and computers. During the last 13 years,
Eric Jacobs Miss Janie and the rest of our faculty have been treading water in their attempts
to get working computers for all Kingshill's students. We do have some laptops
but only three or four of them are in usable condition. A few students have access
Liza Schierloh
to computers at home but almost all of those are lacking some kind of necessity
such as Microsoft Word or internet connection. I believe that we students would
learn more needed computer skills if we had up and running ones in school. This
letter would have gotten to you much earlier had it not been for my own netbook's
!technical hiccups!
Your idea of Kingshill possibly being the first school in the territory to replace
cumbersome text books with light, portable Kindles is wonderful. For our students
that have not only learning disabilities such as ADD and ADHD but physical
disabilities, carting around heavy book bags can be a challenge. Sometimes help
is needed or they lag behind other class mates relocating from one class to the
other. If all of their information were put onto one small device, maybe transitions
would be simpler and easier.
The Kingshill School would very much appreciate it if you assisted us in
reaching these goals. I'd like to respectfully remind you of the hurried
commitment you made to help us in any way you can during our brief interview a
few weeks ago. We would like to follow through on that offer. If we all work
together, Kingshill School would be able to help more learning disabled students
excel in their studies.
