Met with them in sf yesterday.
From their perspective, giant offer. Basically peer with JK running their software adds to
google android as well as their new phone operating system (os, called tizen). Pretty much
anything i want.
But something really big and substantial changes which was JK explicitly told me the new
phone os was a backup plan meant to just take share from Microsoft and blackberry. We
talked about this in great detail (he and I) in person.
Then in my offer, Tizen becomes the next big thing.
Since there is no way it can be there's an obvious game going on with JK. My guess is (after
watching him work for years) that he "lost" and sees me as a problem (stuff he used to
manage and control now works for a white guy). So he changed tune to make his hedge
seem really big so he can go off and do the phones the way he wants to.
Since I don't create a phone or make any products, just make software JK wants this is all really
a bad spot.
I think they definitely want to hire me but just can't navigate their own org, Korea culture, and
get over the importance of software.
Lots of money. Can work from anywhere but need to go to Korea *a lot*. If they say one
month at a time then they mean a lot more. All the people are there so you have to. It
would take 5 years to build a team here in us but even then I don't know what to build.

They will do most anything i want but I don't get to pick the most top level thing (work with
google closely, sort of close, build Tizen).
I think they are in a precarious spot. Their NYC event rattled them too. Like I warned you.
Also talked to Andreessen again. Seems appealing. I could do startup boards, learn the valley,
and then be a full partner end of year. They need me. Goals are clear. Burden on me to do
well which is good. Can work where I need to for a while (good for Melanie).
Apple just hired a guy from adobe. He's really not good. Tim cook really needs help. Google
needs help after firing their guy on android.
Existing Computer companies going through identity crises all at once. Finding something I can
do for a while might be best path to take while I wait and see.
Did bill confide anything?
