Please let me know if you can do this or not? I have worked extremely hard to make this long trip of hers a success - If you could help me to get her to see Mort before she leaves - I would really be very grateful indeed. (She would be accompanied by Rick Friedberg a very good friend who has been very helpful to Mum -who is married to Francine Le Frac.) Mort Zuckerman, who bought the NY daily news after Dad's death, is apparantly trying hard to work his way back into a prominent position in the Jewish community. Hi is trying to work on a legacy of memory.... and that if we could get Mum into seeing him, and finding out about Mum's project - he would certainly help her. To that end I have attached documentation so you can see what the "ASK" is... (She has a complete up to date budget , CVs of her Board and CVs of the Team, Reports on the Feasibility completed phase of the project. The times she can be available are: • Anytime on Tuesday from 9am to 1 1.30am and from 2pm onwards including evening. • Anytime Wednesday • Anytime Thursday morning (she leaves Thursday afternoon to go to the airport. I have got everyone I have asked to agree to see her - on the basis of coming to seek their advice about her project and whom else they think she should meet. Just FYI - (this is clearly laid out inthe powerpoint) Mum raised $ 57,000 for Phase 1 - The feasibility Phase of creating a Pilot database and Locator first in the UK - This phase of the project is now completed. Phase 2 - Amt. to be raised $75,000 to create the Meta data and database Phase 3 - Amt to be raised $150,000 to have the custom search capability customized for her project (the leading Cheshire digital unit of the University of Liverpool has agreed to do this.) EVERY SURVIVOR'S TESTIMONY DESERVES TO BE FOUND: EFTA00761089 THAT IS RFTF Online's Mission to enable that to really be so —for future generations The RFTF Online Database & Locator — will allow federated searching (this means the ability to search across and down into multiple holocaust survivor archives at the same time -even when they are kept separately in different locations.) For the first time all collaborating holocaust survivor testimony archives will be accessible from the one RFTF online Search interface. This will mean that location and research of survivor testimonies that have never been able to be found before in searches with the major search engines, will now be possible.. Major Survivor Testimony Collections are happy to share their collection Meta-data with RFTF Online because we are not duplicating their collections ourselves — we are uniquely helping scholars, students and members of the public to find the right collection or collections of Survivor testimonies amongst the thousands of individual collections online by the use of special search technology and innovation in Meta data tagging — that does not rely on ranking Internet locations by their popularity or by their being most cited in the holocaust literature. Google, Yahoo and Bing — the three most used search engines in the West today, can bring a searcher to the `door' of archives that contain survivor testimonies — but none of them can `take you inside' the contents of those in-house collections -neither one by one - Nor in combination. Searchers must laboriously visit EACH library archive and search each database or collection of databases belonging to an individual institution. The searches are very time-consuming and more often than not, fruitless if one is not using a `correct' spelling of a camp or place name etc. The one search at RFTF Online Locator will suffice to bring up the `needle in the haystack' that has eluded all search efforts to date. Thanks Ghislaine for answering me just as soon as pons - whether you will be able to put a call into Mort Zuckerman's office tomorrow to see if he can make time to see Mum - so she can present him her project and seek his advice etc.. thanks alot in advance.
