The problem is that people don't want you to apologize for frequenting prostitutes, they want you to apologize for being a pedophile and for sex trafficking--and they don't want you to apologize for that, they want you to be crucified for that. A simple apology doesn't change the other side's narrative; I actually think it propels it. A proper apology is not an apology, it's a ritual act of public mortification and confession.
