one more thing.. this woman in phoenix's firm specializes in prosecuting.. namely in taking cases where
women accuse men of harassment.. not really a good fit I think, and doubtful she would take the case.. am
also going to ask Justin about female members of his firm interacting with ASU, just to check.

HI.. Jeffrey, here is one time I think you need to listen to me..at least a bit. Your lawyer advisors never
learned from you any details of what is going on at ASU.. This is not a hostile work environment issue.
The employees in question never once complained to their managers (and there are 2 of them who will be
interviewed) about me. Nor did they ever complain to the University HR directly before the BuzzFeed
article. These are all facts that the managers will validate. They did complain to their managers about each
other, and at various times to me about their managers. 8 Origins employees and staff will be interviewed
about how wonderful the environment was. They just interviewed my executive assistant on monday, who
told them how wonderful the environment working for me was, and how in almost 10 years she never
witnessed anything remotely harassing. She felt it sounded a bit too positive so she added, "we sometimes
like all bosses, he drives me crazy". They jumped on that and said, "how?", and she said "Well, sometimes
he asks me to do a task, and then he has already done it".
With all due respect, this academic environment is not something that you are familiar with, and while I am
familiar with it, I need to be guided by someone who is VERY familiar with these proceedings at ASU and
other places..
I am going to reach out to that woman as well, but I am very sad that you are talking to advisors who
frankly don't know anything but the buzzFeed article and any other social media stuff, but haven't
interviewed me in depth or know the workings of the ASU office.
I won't make any rash decisions here for obtaining counsel, but I really feel against the wall if you won't at
least trust me at all to assess good individuals with experience, and have those good individuals with
experience assess my situation in detail and make recommendations.
So, we will reach out today to the other woman as well, and I am interviewing another lawyer on Friday..
But frankly if I can't get help from you here, I am going to deplete my savings and then even if I win, I sort
of lose, since even in this case it will be years before I can get the kind of speaking or writing gigs I had
before, if at all.

she sounds like our person if she will take your case. , the only goal is not to be fired. if possible , keep money if you do get
fired and or suspended. lawrence. this is not a case of a single or even two accusers . all the title 9 is out the window. it is
hostile work enviromnet. issue . as well. you and nancy, continue not to see clearly . sorry.
your case , is very very different. than most. all the things you have written about re lawyers is naive , uninformed an contrary
to your interest in my opinion. however you are of course free to do as yo please , but i will not fund your own strategic demise

look at hi.. he says he has worked with ASU counsels before.. is not adversarial.
I have a few local suggestions but not sure..
Here is from a law professor at ASU:
"One of the problems in finding a top law firm in this town that can be adverse to ASU is that ASU uses most of these
firms, including those I have worked with or know people at and thus can recommend on personal experience. For both
for ethical and business reasons, however, these firms can't or do not want to be adverse to ASU. The only firm that I
know something about that might be right for you and could take your case is Martin &
Bonnett http:thwvw.martinbonnett.com/ I know them because they represented a tenured ASU professor fired on what
seemed to many of us at the law school to be a trumped up charge of plagiarism. (She had plagiarized some material in
her syllabus for which the university committee hearing hear case recommended a relatively light sanction. Crow rejected
these findings and fired her. (The scuttlebutt was that she was a major pain in the ass in her department and that was the
real reason she was fired.) My late colleague Joe Feller worked closely with this firm and arranged for the AAUP to file an
amicus brief which many members of the law faculty, including me, signed. Crow was none to happy about this, btw. My
sense is that although the professor lost her case (courts are reluctant to intervene in these types of case), Martin &
Bonnett did a good job. So when my dean fired a secretary assigned to me, Paul Bender, and several others (including
another former dean), Paul and I contacted the firm for some advice. If you would like my help to find a firm in another city,
especially LA, I should be able to offer you more selection and a more definite and knowledgeable recommendation. Jim

Just had an hour consult with Justin Dillon of KaiserDillon, probably the premiere Title IX firm in the country (you
can google all the work they have done). He is presently doing 2 cases at ASU. and it turns out he read physics
of star trek when he was in college and is a big fan. He seemed excellent and knew just how the system works
(and has already once forced ASU to end a suspension of a student because they violated his rights).
Anyway, we talked strategy etc, and I am confident if I went with a lawyer to keep me in my position at ASU they
are the firm. They are not cheap though. $15K retainer, and he expected the full process would probably be
between $50-100K.
Let me be blunt. Can you help? I have already lost over $100K in speaking engagements this year alone.
There is no one else I would ask so bluntly, nor anyone else I will be absolutely fine with whatever the answer is.
