This handsome Beaux Arcs mansion was completed in 1901 and is
prominently sited on the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and East 82nd
Street. Designed by Alexander M. Welch of the architectural firm of
Welch, Smith & Provot, the builders were S. W. and T. W. Hall. It is one
of the last survivors of the grand residences that once lined Fifth Avenue.
