How can the international community better cope with these challenges? What are best practices in management and coordination of multiple stakeholders when it comes to fighting pandemics? How can we improve preparedness and build more resilient coping mechanisms, in particular early warning mechanisms to facilitate early action? How can we improve communication and collaboration within and amongst relevant stakeholders? Speakers: • UN Special Envoy on EBOLA , Director, Polio Eradication, Global Polio Eradication Initiative 12:30 —13:30 Lunch Break 13:30 — 15:30 Session 3: Actionable Solutions for more effective preparedness Where are legal and managerial gaps, pressure points and bottle necks that have led to slow and inadequate responses in the past? Which new policies could be tailored to overcome these issues and enhance operational responses? Which institutional capacities are required? Which financial mechanisms need to be put in place? How and where should policies be implemented? A series of recommendations will be proposed. This session will endeavor to provide guidance on how the recommendations identified in session 6 can be implemented.
