A significant number of the staff had their homes destroyed or=rendered uninhabitable by the storms and they took refuge post-hurricane a= GSJ. Both are rock lined and rubble filled and exten= approximately 10'-15' off shore. We are aware that these we=e not permitted. Despite repeated attempts, the staff were unable reach an=one at DPNR prior to construction. Mr. Epstein understands that thes= will need to be removed but was concerned that if they were removed prior=to your arrival that it might be misconstrued that he was trying to hide w=at was done. Should we go head and start their removal or would you =refer to conduct the site visit so you can make recommendations of how it =hould be done?
