Great!
Do you want to arrange the particular date now, or should I ping you about it in a couple weeks?
I will probably need to buy plane tickets for the trip around Oct 1, and it would be good to incorporate
knowledge of the date of our meeting to trip planning...
Thanks a lot,
Ben

Hi Jeffrey,
I hope you've been well !
I'll be in the US in early November for the RICA conference at MIT (Nov 7-9; I guess Joscha will attend as
well)... and probably stay in the US for a little bit after that...
I wonder if we could meet up at some point during my US visit -- either in Boston if you'll be there around
that time, or in New York, or anywhere else that you prefer...
It would be good to show you some of the stuff we've been up to with OpenCog, if you can spare a couple
hours. Lots going on ;) ... (due to the efforts of the team in Hong Kong, plus some of the guys in Ethiopia...)
... our NLP/reasoning work is advancing quite a bit, as well as some video game world and robotics stuff...
As an aside, our AI hedge fund project looks like it's going to go forward and we'll probably start trading
early next year. We had been struggling with HK equity data, but shifting to US equities and global futures
(in the last couple months) has given us much nicer historical prediction accuracies (largely due to the lower
transaction costs on these markets). Next step is to run backtests on these other markets, and then try it all
on data from 2012-2014, which we have held out as "virgin data" for last-ditch testing... and then if that
works, trade real money.... I have been splitting my time between OpenCog and the trading project and am
sick to death of quantitative finance and eager to shift more time to OpenCog; but I would rather ramp down
my time on the finance project on a successful note (i.e. after getting a tradable system working), and at the
moment it seems to be going in that direction...
Thanks,
Ben
