Courtesy Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach Enlarge Photo A landmarked waterfront estate designed by Maurice Fatio that once belonged to Palm Beach's leading preservationist, Barbara Drew Hoffstot, and her family, has sold for $13.5 million, according to the warranty deed, filed late Wednesday. The nearly 1-acre compound at 822 S. County Road, owned by 822 S. County LLC, had been listed for $14.9 million by Carole Koeppel and Cristina Condon, associates with Sotheby's International Realty. The buyer was represented by Betsy S. Green, principal of Betsy S. Green Real Estate. The buyers are James M. and Charlene S. Nederlander. James Nederlander is chairman of The Nederlander Organization. In 2007, the Nederlanders bought 146 Seminole Ave. for $5.5 million and paid $9.8 million for 1040 N. Lake Way, according to Palm Beach County Property Appraiser's Office records. The South County Road home "was a unique, wonderful property," Koeppel said. Situated in the South End's Estate Section, the property has 100 feet of waterfront for a five-bedroom principal residence and separate two-bedroom guest house, each with a swimming pool. It is finished with French limestone and polished oak floors. The most recent restoration was credited to the late William Elias. EFTA00760351
