Subject: Projector Update
Jermaine,
Digital Projection has received the projector and has=diagnosed it. Here are their results:
Unit powers off as repor=ed. Visual inspection - evidence of salt water residue on top cover, as wel= as,
inside the projector. Early stages of class 1 rust present on projecto= power supply casing, some hardware screws on
Gen I electronics, and inner casing. Issue duplicated as reported= Possible low voltage power related issue. Recommend
new Gold GPSU with ass=ciated power looms. Recommend new electronics Gen II. Due to the evidence that this
projector has been exposed to salt water an= its corrosive effects, this projector's performance cannot be guaranteed
a=ainst additional latent performance issues that simply are not being detect=d during this evaluation, but could
become evident in the future.
The estimated cost to replace the suggested parts is $=5,462.75. This does not include anyone from
Osbee setting up the proj=ctor on Little St. James Island which can be as much as $5,000 - $10,000 (t=avel expenses
included). With the new electronics installed, everything will be factory defaulted and the len= and color calibration will
need to be setup again.

I know that you have been e-mailing Shaun requesting a=breakdown of the labor costs for the
estimation of repair costs. = So far, we have only incurred $175 in Labor and $600 in shipping charges (=nsured with
special packaging) along with a $450 diagnostic fee from Digital Projection.
My personal advice at this point is to not repair thi= unit and move on with a new projector. I am
concerned that eve= if we replace these parts, something else will go wrong. The parts Digital=Projection is
recommending that you replace are only a portion of the entire projector. Additionally, these repla=ement parts hold
no warranty as nobody is sure that the other parts won*=99t damage the new parts if they are also rusted (short
circuit). Thi= would only be a starting point...
Digital Projection is willing to give you the followi=g discounts if you chose to move forward with the
newer models:cp>

I'm recommending the 4K Laser Projector at th=s time. The world is going 4K and Netflix & Sony are
already broa=casting content in 4K. I wouldn't recommend investing i= a 1080p projector when 4K will be the standard
in the next few years.
With the new projector, we will make sure that either=a custom enclosure is built around this projector
to protect it from the el=ments or work with your carpenter to build a sealed box with a venting syst=m. Both of these
solutions will also solve the issue where Jeffery is bothered by the noise of the actual p=ojector.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed as w= can get moving on this immedatley. With all
three models above= we have a 4 week lead time as they are all hand built and tested.
