In addition to nailing down what is needed for his campaign, I also have a number of questions that I need to review with you, including: • What do they have available by way of raw Voter Data for the Maldives? Male is obviously the mother lode of the population with more than 100,000 but when you add up the others: Addu City, Fuvahmlah, Kulhudhuffushi, Thinadhoo, etc... you get close to another 100.000, so what base level data is available on the registered voting population to work with and what other ancillary related data information is available; • What is the real story of what went down with the resignation of President Nasheed and the subsequent ascension of President Waheed. I read the CONI report which is a finely crafted state document version of what they want the world to perceive but the real question still begs answering because that story is, no doubt, being discussed on the street in the general Maldives' population; • What is the direction that President Waheed is taking the Maldives. The research I have at this time seems to indicate a significant faction within the Maldives moving to ensure that Sharia Law is not only implemented but that it is more strongly enforced within the daily public and secular lives of the Maldives which appears to be what a majority of the populations is calling for; • What is the position of the United States in all of this? The Maldives are obviously a critical place holder in the Indian Ocean and thereby through and into the Pacific Theatre and the recent comments from Assistant Secretary Robert Blake seem to give off a sense of tacit support and endorsement of the Waheed Presidency but I would like to know the official "unofficial" position of the State Department in all of this.
