Dear
This letter responds to your request, dated April 2, 2020, seeking information "related to every
occasion that Jeffrey E. Epstein traveled outside of the United States from the date of his
registration as a sex offender in June 2008 to August 2019." The Office of Sex Offender
Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking ("SMART Office") is
responsible for providing jurisdictions with guidance regarding the implementation of the Adam
Walsh Act, and providing technical assistance to the states, territories, Indian tribes, local
governments, and to public and private organizations. The SMART Office does not, and has
never, maintained any records or files on individual sex offenders, nor does it track, or monitor
or receive notifications regarding the international travel of individual offenders. Information
about specific individual sex offenders, to include the international travel of and/or the
compliance with international travel requirements for an individual sex offender, is best obtained
from jurisdiction(s) in which the sex offender lives, works, or attends school.
Accordingly, the SMART Office does not have any information that is responsive to your
request. We would advise that you contact the United States Marshals Service National Sex
Offender Targeting Center; INTERPOL-Washington; the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and/or
the Department of Homeland Security Angel Watch Center directly if you have questions about
what information, if any, those agencies may have in their possession.
Si erely,
