Re: United States Registered Aircraft N212JE owned by JEGE, LLC
Clearance and Pre-Arrival Requirements for Private Domestic
Flights between the Continental United States and
the Territory of United States Virgin Islands
Ladies and Gentlemen:
By letter dated March 15, 2016, on behalf of JEGE, LLC, we requested direction from Private
Aircraft Support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ("DHS") to address the markedly different
clearance and arrival procedures to which JEGE, LLC has been subject that were imposed by various local
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol ("CBP") offices on our private aircraft traveling between airports within
the continental United States and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as between such airports
(whether in the continental United States or the U.S. Virgin Islands) and foreign airports. In order to avoid
further misunderstandings we asked that Private Aircraft Support provide JEGE, LLC's Chief Pilot,
Lawrence Visoski ("Visoski"), with a standing letter from DHS, addressed to the local CBP offices,
specifying the exact clearance and arrival requirements, including a description of all required filings and
documentation, for private aircraft travel between the continental United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands,
as well as for private aircraft arriving in the continental United States or the U.S. Virgin Islands from
foreign airports. JEGE, LLC wishes to ensure that its Chief Pilot fully complies with all such procedures
that may properly be imposed, and the information provided in the requested letter would enable it to do so
and at the same time establish definitive, authoritative and uniform guidance that Visoski may present to
the local CBP offices to confirm his compliance.
As of today's date, we have not received any communication from Private Aircraft Support,
although the differences we have described above and in our March 15 letter persist. Please confirm
receipt of this letter and advise if you require anything further for a favorable response.
Respectfully,
Darren K. Indyke
