I am sorry that this seems complicated. In New York apartment rentals usually require quite a bit of paperwork,
even if the rent is prepaid. Usually a bank reference, employment, income verification and credit check are
standard. The reason is the law in new york prevents the landlord from evicting the tenant. For example if the
tenant chooses to stay on premises for months after the lease, the landlord can not enter the premises or force
the tenant out, he has to wait for the courts to make a decision.
I hope you understand that the questions Paolo is asking are not personal but standard new york procedure. I
spoke with him and he said he is comfortable with a reference letter from Jeffrey and he will present it to
owners and see if they will accept. Please allow me to contact Jeffrey on your behalf.
