The innovative shaft design prevents the shaft from breaking during the collection process and simplifies the removal of the cotton swab for processing. Evidence can be air dried or dried in the protective tube with the indicating desiccant. The collector can also be configured into kits with easy-to-follow instructions and all materials required for simple collection. The indicating desiccant is designed to dry a sample in 16 hours when used as directed. A box of 50 collectors is pockged in five foil pouches, each containing 10 collectors and 10 Crime Scene Transport Pouches. The foil pouch protects the indicating desiccant from moisture until opened. The indicating desiccant will change color upon saturation and can be replaced if needed. The pre-labeled collector and additional barcodes also reduce labeling time. PROTECTING Inserting the swab into the protective tube and placing the collector into the Crime Scene Transport Pouch secures evidence in a sealed environment. PROCESSING The swab is easily transferred from the collector for automated processing, minimizing errors and contamination. Just hold the Crime Scene Collector in a tube at a 45-degree angle and apply pressure to snap off the cotton swab. INSTRUCTIONS Place collector wrapper with visible borcode number near evidence for photo documentation. Remove wrapper borcode labels for identifying crime scene documents and labeling outer package.
