At this time, the project is completed with regards to the upgrades of the SCUs, DPUS and MEC, as well as the installation of the new
Insight software. All the panels are currently communicating through the BMS. However, there was another application which was
being utilized by yourself in order to monitor the entire household remotely that requires a more advanced operating system. The
name of the application is APOGEE GO. the new APOGEE GO works only in the following windows platform, windows NT,
2000/2003/2008 server. Due to several issues we had encounter during the installation of the new Insight revision with the new
PC which was provided by the site. the old PC was used as a front-end.
Prior to this project, I had provided a PDF spec sheet for the new Insight revision. We emphasized in the past, we prefer to
purchase and provide for the PC by installing the operating system and our Insight software in-house. Once the installation is
complete, our specialist will bring the machine back to the site so it could be communicated with the controllers. This was
suggested by the executive salesman Bradley Rickert. By purchasing the machine from us, it insures you if there are any issues with
the PC, we will provide immediate emergency service. With regards to the VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), the current
drives are over 20 years old and were installed prior to the first installation of the predecessor Siemens EMS. Proper maintenance
will be required from time to time, due to the duration of these devices, but in the end maintenance would be too costly which we
do not provide. It will be more beneficial to replace both drives. The replacement drives would be more efficient, durable, and with
the newest model would allow to unlock more features with our new Apogee front end. Also, due to the age of these drives, we are
not certain if the energy cost saving with variable torque is significant. Please inform your manager/supervisor on how he wish to
proceed, at your earliest convenience so these matters can be taken care of.
Thanks
