Mr. Barnett,
As per the results of the air balancing and report which was
sent to you earlier this week, we found the 10 ton air-handler
for Mr. Epstein's bedroom running exactly as designed. As you
can see all the information and details is on the balancing
report. We are moving 3 times more air then we did ten years a
go, before we installed this unit. Unfortunately we can not
speed up the fan, doing so would result in wanner
temperatures, the slower the air the colder.
When we originally designed this job 10 years a go, our goal
was to maintain 60 degree temperatures in the master
bedroom, we were not aware that Mr. Epstein wanted to feel
the air, this would of changed the design. This job was
designed, so the homeowner would NOT feel any air hitting
them as that would normally create an uncomfortable and/or
drafty environment.
We noticed two supply grilles on the floor by the window, which
are blowing a tremendous amount of air, however the curtains
are closed causing the air to stifle. When our supervisor
opened the curtains he noticed a lot more air movement in the
room.
Normally a room this size would be designed for 500 -600
CFM. As you can see on the report, you have over 2,000 CFM
in the master bedroom. I don't believe more air is the answer. I
would start by opening the curtains, if this does not help, we
would have to look at what would be involved to re-route the
ducts and air grilles so the air would blow across the room and
possibly onto the bed.
Thank You,
