As luck would have it, one of my patients here in Thousand Oaks has expressed interest in a donation and said those numbers didn't scare him. I should know by early February whether a substantial donation will be made. May I ask your help in putting together the proposal for my late January meeting with this potential donor? Fm not familiar with building large programs and the logistics pertaining to space/buildings, staffing, negotiating with UCLA, working with Development Officers (I'm in 3 schools), etc. There remains the question of whether attaching The Institute to UCLA is preferable to keeping an endowment in iMABS and remaining independent. One of our Advisory Board members recommended keeping Dept Chairs out of the loop until the donation is secure and targeted for iMABS. Thank you for your wisdom and advice. Perhaps the five of us on the Executive Board could do a Board Meeting via Google Hangout on a Tuesday or Thursday evening?
