The best way to do it is to get a recurrent or new type rating and the ATP sign-off is just part of it. The least expensive option I found is 12k for an old Citation type or Larry tells me 14.3k for a GIV recurrent. which is more useful. I cant pay that now but if I miss the deadline, I'll have to spend an extra 5k just to take the written again because the rules have since changed and they now require additional training.
