Specifically, its website - http://www.ieffreveostein.org - states that "The Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation was established in 2000 to support cutting edge science and science education around the world. Since then, the foundation has expanded to other fields and is an active supporter of innovative programs in education, youth initiatives and international peace accords. The foundation is based in New York City, New York, and in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands." The Estates, Powers & Trusts Law requires registration of charitable organizations that conduct activity or hold property for charitable purposes in New York, and Article 7-A of the Executive Law requires registration of charitable organizations that solicit charitable contributions in New York. Since it appears to be engaged in charitable activities in New York, Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation is required to register with the Charities Bureau by filing a Charities Registration Statement (Form CHAR410) and attaching the required registration documents. In addition, the organization must submit its most recent annual financial report. The statutes governing registration with the Charities Bureau, as well as forms and instructions for registration and annual financial reporting, may be found on the Attorney General's website at www,charitiesnvs.com• Please submit the registration materials within twenty days of the date of this letter. If you believe that Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation is not required to register with this office, please send to my attention a written explanation of your claim of exemption within five (5) business days of the date of this letter.
