Attached is correspondence I sent to you last week regarding garbage bins whereby the vendor addressed his

Arran response was that we will just trash bins as condition is not worth fixing - not sure he ever provided a
cost to repair / since when does Arran make decisions to abandon equipment
Arran also said we will no longer use current vendor Precise Trucking — This pattern of Arran / Brice
attempting to eliminate anyone that "challenges them" is of concern
Between cost of bins, new doors and shipping from florida our average cost per bin is $5,000
Please advise

Greetings,
Once again - it's not worth fixing - what are the parameters for condemning a piece of equipment that should
withstand hard use with reasonable maintenance.
Four bins were purchased from a company called Wastequip in 2007 for $13,380. Three doors were replaced
in 2010 for $3002.
JR's sister works for a local waste management company. He called to ask about the average life span of these
bins with proper maintenance - it is 10 years.
The salt air conditions on LSJ or no more severe than any place on St. Thomas. Many of the bins on STT sit
near the water, and as they serve the general public - they get much more use than the private bins of LSJ.
Steve Rampino, when he was managing the rubbish removal for LSJ periodically invoiced LSJ for maintenance
- he painted the bins, he welded or replaced the bottoms, etc. I would presume this is necessary especially if
you have wet trash sitting for days or weeks in a hot metal container - I don't recall posting costs for bin repairs
recently.
One bin is currently at the hangar - Precise Trucking invoices normally charge for 2 bin hauls - where is the
fourth bin that was purchased in 2007?

Just a reminder - Steve Rampino's services were no longer deemed necessary by the LSJ management team
when he began to voice concerns regarding the maintenance of the equipment by the LSJ management team
and that they were eventually going to be a liability to JEE.
For your review and thoughts, DW

I just spoke to aaron he said our truck should be up and running, so the bin that's filled now will be transported to
the dump and left there, because it condition is not worth fixing. The bin at the hangar will be pick up and brought
back to the LS.1. He also said he contacted someone by the name of Fabian that will probably now transport bins if
they have an future issues.
So to answer your question, apparently the bins will not be fixed and they will avoid using James (Predse Trucking).

Good Day Brice,
I received a phone call from Precise Trucking - lames Jones in regards to issues with LSJ garbage bins.
1. He has requested that a chain and hook be welding on the bin gates.
A) Presently only a strap is being used, which makes it difficult and time consuming to remove trash from bin
B) Transportation to and from the Bovoni dump while gate is only secured with a strap poses a high danger hazard,
should the strap give way in traffic.
2. He also requested that the trash not hang on the outside or stacked to high in the bins, because the hydraulic
tarp will not engage properly.
NB: Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority fines for trucks no being fully covered or dropping garbage or
debris onto streets is $1,000.00 minimum.
Please advise.
