For want of a rider the message was lost. For want of a message the battle was lost. For want of a battle the kingdom was lost. And all for the want of a horseshoe nail. I am in search of a nail to save the kingdom of Jewish knowledge. For more than 20 years I have been building the Jewish Virtual Library. Today, it has roughly 25,000 entries covering EFTA01034150 everything from anti-Semitism to Zionism. To give you an idea of our reach consider that in 2017: • 80,000 Jews attended Jewish overnight camps. • 250,000 students attended Jewish day schools. • 48,000 students from 67 countries participated in Birthright trips. • 8.6 million visitors from more than 200 countries used the Jewish Virtual Library. The JVL is the go-to source for educators because of its content and credibility established over more than two decades. That is why more than 6,000 sites link to us and we are cited as a source in major media, most recently in the Washington Post and Bloomberg News. You cannot buy the reliability and ranking on Google we have achieved. At a time when we often lament the ignorance of the next generation, the JVL is a beacon to enlighten them. The light, however, is on the verge of being extinguished -- for lack of a nail. The JVL is not a high cost endeavor; in fact, it has been run on a shoestring. Still, articles do not appear by themselves. A dedicated staff is needed to keep the site updated and resources are required to maintain its technical edge. It will not survive without your help.
