"’Well, I think this does underscore the risk of electing a right-wing radio host to elected statewide office,’" press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters at the daily briefing. “In addition to serving as the state's lieutenant governor since his 2014 election, Patrick has also hosted a radio show that airs in Texas. “Earnest reiterated the contents of the letter sent by the Department of Justice and the Department of Education to administrators of public school districts on Friday, emphasizing that the guidance does not add existing requirements to applicable law or require any student to use shared facilities when schools make alternative arrangements. “Included in the guidance, which does not carry the force of law, is a threat to states by the administration to sue or revoke federal funding, particularly on education.
