Jeffrey:
Thanks for the call back tonight.
So the answer to your initial question to me about the Daily News is that Yes I would, in fact, recommend the pursuit of
the Daily News and the Radio Station but in a very methodical and properly structured approach.
I believe, as I know you do, that to do things successfully in the USVI one must do them behind the scenes. I have actually
thought this through quite thoroughly and I believe that it can be accomplished.
The result would be the establishment of a new media entity in the territory (and potentially the BVI) that when managed
properly would definitely prove to be a profitable business.
The secondary (and equally important) benefit provided would be the creation of a window of opportunity for some very
real political influence in the Territory for a period of a good eight (8) to twelve (12) years depending on how well we do
with managing the whole operation.
That same secondary benefit would also include the immediate upcoming Governor's Race, New Delegate to Congress
Race, and Legislative Races in 2014 which are beginning to take shape and get underway right now.
I have actually been working on this for some time and I am definitely looking to pursue it so if you decide that you are
also interested we should probably meet to discuss things further and lay out how, in fact, to make it happen.
I'll wait to hear back from you at the end of the week.
Thanks again for the call,
McGee
P.S. I've been approached by some individuals about upcoming campaigns in Africa in 2015. I remember Cecile mentioning
to me that you were starting to develop business in Africa. If that is true, it would be good to talk with you about where
you were getting involved and the actual level of true democratization in those emerging nations.
