Hello Mr. Epstein,
Prepping for the storm has consumed my time and the staffs time as well. I cannot control mother nature.
Omar came over and looked at job on 21st and despite repeated calls I have not received final pricing. I called
him earlier today and now have his square foot price which I will convert to a final number after I look up
block cost for large 250' wall which I measured with Chris the other day and its 385' long. I will have this to
you this evening. Chris said you wanted this wall two cement blocks wide (running linear by 10' tall, stone
faced on the top and driveway side. The block side facing the maintenance buildings would be painted. Is that
correct?
I have been on the excavator repairing the barge ramp and road access to the driveway to the left of the boat
dock as it was washed away form the storm and no staff was on LSJ today - the pricing would have been
completed earlier. I have stopped as the barge isn't coming over until Wednesday.
Right now no intemet, we just went back on power and the alarms are sounding in the generator panel room
and I am dealing with that....Anna spoke with Danny on phone (was told by Anna Danny said this happens all
the time and he will reset in the AM). Danny has not returned my text or call. Terrance is working on the
intemet problem remotely and will come over in the AM if he cannot fix.
I will update the timeline to reflect days missed by staff and storm preparation and cleanup by tomorrow am.
The barge isn't going to do our runs until Wednesday - they are on one engine
I will put on the timeline the # 8 from the update from August 11th meeting - see email below
The plans have been reviewed, I am in communication with Buck steel, he was on vacation and We need to
price out the concrete work. I am going to do a separate timeline on this projects there are many phases.
8. Kevin from Jaredian mentioned that the working drawings should be completed by the end of September. They had to have plans
modified for proper venting for carpenters shop and fertilizer/chemical storage.

Hello Mr. Epstein,
Today Anna, Danny Vicars and I met with David Rosa from CZM and Kevin from The Jaredian Design Group to discuss:
1. Layout of the proposed maintenance and workshop building project
EFTA00847591
2. Two roofs for the RO Plant and Generator building.
The meeting went well. Concerns & comments brought up by David Rosa:
1. New height of RO and Generator roof from across the waters. I replied that the pitch of the roof was aesthetically pleasing
and roof color chosen by you is soft and blends into the skies. He quickly agreed.
2. He had no concerns with proposed building and 80 foot layout and placement of building. We walked the proposed layout that
Danny Vicars laid out with orange markers.
3. David had a complaint from someone that we discussed. Complaint was that we were creating stone buffers preventing
boaters from coming ashore to the beaches. I assured him this wasn't happening since I started and that there were natural
reefs that prevented the boaters from coming ashore. He agreed an said that he had to ask as there was a complaint. (Most
likely someone saw machines removing rocks from the shore for the waterfall. We need to be careful.)
4. David wanted to inspect grading of roads. We showed him one of the roads going from maintenance building to tennis court
and he was pleased.
5. We discussed putting in drainage swales after the asphalt and minimizing damage and he agreed that we would have better
control of the water rather than guessing where the drainage swales should be. David wants protective erosion control at each
new drainage swale per permitt. I agreed.
6. We discussed the Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) and why it is important for us to observe this
Act. http://ww.coralreeig grants/noaafUSVICZMFactsheet-Jun03.W
7. David and I discussed my qualifications, previous projects on coastal zones and my working with the Town of Falmouth
conservation Department on various projects on Cape Cod. David is from Arlington, VA
8. Kevin from Jaredian mentioned that the working drawings should be completed by the end of September. They had to have
plans modified for proper venting for carpenters shop and fertilizer/chemical storage.
9. Daphne gave me a set of drawings that I will review.
10. I asked David if he will sign off on project and David commented that most likely after he reviews the plans once more.
Best,
Leighton
