May Fair is the celebration of the St. Mark's community reaching out to the Town of New Canaan, and other communities, not only on the day of the fair, but all year long through our outreach programs funded by May Fair proceeds. By attending May Fair, the public supports the mission of St. Mark's and its Outreach Commission, and helps to fund generous outreach donations to charitable organizations locally, nationally, and internationally. Back by popular demand, "Friday Night Lights" on May 11 will serve as a prelude to the main event on Saturday and will hold a special appeal for young adults and kids, offering all of the carnival rides, music, and the famous May Fair barbeque. (Please note that the White Elephant and book sales will not begin until Saturday.) The enormous May Fair White Elephant Tag Sale features thousands of items for sale including jewelry, furniture, rugs, china, crystal, art, collectibles, lamps, kitchenware, linens, electronics, toys, games, sporting goods, and lawn furniture. Delicious foods will be available for purchase including grilled chicken, smoked brisket, pulled pork, corn on the cob, hotdogs and hamburgers, pizza, ice cream, and many other treats including May Fair's famous strawberry shortcake. St. Mark's BBQ ministry, "The Holy Smokers", prepare for May Fair long in advance, and stay up for days to smoke the brisket and pulled pork sold at the fair, using their trademark St. Mark's Bell Tower BBQ Sauce. We cannot accept: clothing, footwear, or mattresses, Christmas and holiday decorations (except high-end collectibles), children's car seats, electronics, TV, or CRT monitors, computers, printers, appliances, sleep sofas, office desks or large file cabinets, large pieces like entertainment centers, armoires, and hutches unless they are in great shape, Outdated exercise equipment, plumbing and bath fixtures, building materials, luggage except very clean sports bags, anything that is unsalable (too worn, too big, obsolete).
