Good day, Mr. Epstein,
Please forgive me, but can you again provide the name of the person you're thinking about to take Kyle's
position?
I think it makes sense to find someone to work with the contractors and am glad to hear you have a lead.
We can also ask some of the construction guys we know here if you'd like. Just for the record, I do know
a little bit about construction. My father is an electrical engineer and builds things. He mostly builds
computerized lines for manufacturing companies, but he built his home and his hangar. He works with
AutoCAD and provided the drawings as a favor to me for the shade house. I spent a number of years
married to a man who owns his own mechanical company. We built our first house together when I was
21 years old. I'm not saying I should be that person, but I do think Mike and I together can probably
carry this a while if needed. His wealth of knowledge is incredible.
I had a chance to speak with Patrick and he brought up some valid points about having someone else
living on the island. This left us to conclude that we think it would be best if the person not live here. It
can be very limiting to the daily freedoms most people take for granted. Unless the individual can
comfortably drive the boat (docking, mooring, rough conditions, know the reefs, night driving as it gets
dark early) and the individual is assigned their own separate boat, then Patrick and I will not only have
to work our schedule around this person's needs, but we will be responsible for assisting this person with
all of his errands and personal needs. We are already so busy. We would rather not have this
responsibility.
The other issue is Sam's Place is completely put together and has amenities that the cabanas do not offer
(a kitchen, laundry, and television for example). This means if someone like Valdson comes to visit, we
actually have a place for him or other guests to stay besides the cabanas.
This also brings me to a question that I've been waiting to ask because I wanted to see how this was
going first. Are we allowed to have guests on the island? My mother, accompanied by my soon-to-be
daughter-in-law, are scheduled to visit in February. My mother was unexpectedly widowed a little over a
year ago and has not handled it well. I try to see her at least quarterly, and had purchased a ticket for her
before Christmas (before any of these changes took place). They can stay in our condo, but if Sam's is

free I would prefer to have them stay in Sam's with your permission so we can maximize our time with
them. They would leave during the day while the crew is here and come back in the evenings so we can
spend time together. I understand this is your home and completely respect your decision.
