One of the things that is unique about the tech world in the valley is how frequently folks get together and really try to work on things together. It is more like the art scene in paris in the early 20th century. Just a couple of weeks ago I went to a dinner with all the VP Engineering for google, facebook, twitter, yelp, yahoo, box, and more plus VCs and even some companies like Cisco and big enterprise customers. It was not just dinner but we actually had presentations and q&a stuff. Need to think about what group this would be -- and who would travel (the downside of the valley is that because of all the cross-fertilization, folks don't travel much on purpose).
