If [00:00:29] you're a governor of a state or you're a [00:00:31] mayor or a city official of a town and [00:00:34] you willfully violate immigration law, [00:00:37] you do not cooperate with the federal [00:00:39] government as required by law. You're [00:00:41] committing a crime and you should go to [00:00:43] jail. Under my bill, Governor Waltz and [00:00:46] the mayor of Minneapolis who are openly [00:00:49] defying the laws on the books have been [00:00:51] there 30 years would be subject to [00:00:53] prosecution. We had a county clerk in [00:00:55] Tennessee that objected to gay marriage. [00:00:58] I understand. But she refused to enroll [00:01:00] a marriage certificate because of her [00:01:02] religious beliefs after the Supreme [00:01:05] Court said gay marriage was legal. Get [00:01:07] out of the job if you can't do it. To a [00:01:10] mayor and a governor, change the law if [00:01:12] you don't like it. Don't defy it. Or [00:01:14] becoming a country of chaos. Sanctuary [00:01:17] cities lead to more illegal immigration, [00:01:20] rampant fraud, and a breakdown of law [00:01:22] and order. So here's what I'm telling [00:01:24] mayors and governors. Change the law. [00:01:26] Don't defy the law. Here's what I'm [00:01:28] telling my Senate Republican colleagues. [00:01:30] Let's stand by side behind in a fair [00:01:33] investigation, but let's stand behind [00:01:35] the cops. If you're out there and [00:01:37] frustrated as a Republican, we're not [00:01:39] doing enough. I'm with you. Today, we [00:01:41] changed that. Uh Eric Schmidt did a [00:01:44] great job. I stood up and said, "We're [00:01:47] not going forward until we get a vote [00:01:49] where we can stop sanctuary city policy, [00:01:53] make it a crime to defy federal law, and [00:01:55] let the Democrats tell us who they are." [00:01:58] Do they want to be a country of [00:02:00] sanctuary cities? Hell yeah. Do we want [00:02:02] to be a country that eliminates [00:02:04] sanctuary cities as a Republican party? [00:02:06] Hell yeah. Uh has anybody talked about [00:02:08] Lake and Raleigh lately? She was killed [00:02:11] by an illegal im immigrant who was [00:02:13] released from custody because they had [00:02:15] no bed space. What about all the people [00:02:17] that have been raped and murdered and [00:02:19] tortured because illegal immigration? [00:02:21] What about them? I want the cops to be [00:02:23] held accountable, but I support [00:02:25] President Trump's desire to end the four [00:02:28] years of madness of Biden. What are we [00:02:30] doing as Republicans? We're trying to [00:02:32] avoid going back to the Biden policies. [00:02:35] What are Democrats doing? They're [00:02:37] supporting sanctuary city policy. [00:02:39] They're they're going to support [00:02:41] sanctuary city governors and mayors who [00:02:44] are defying the law because of the [00:02:46] politics. I want to vote on the floor of [00:02:48] the United States Senate. If you're for [00:02:50] sanctuary cities and you want to [00:02:52] continue that policy, let the public [00:02:54] know where you're at. If you're like me, [00:02:56] and I think most Republicans, we want to [00:02:59] stop it. I want to be the party that is [00:03:01] eliminating fraud, not talking about it. [00:03:04] I want to get with John Kenny and come [00:03:05] up with a package to eliminate all the [00:03:08] fraud around this trap. I want a clear [00:03:10] defining moment in American history. We [00:03:12] as the Republican party supporting [00:03:14] President Donald Trump want to end the [00:03:17] insanity around sanctuary city policy [00:03:19] forever. We want to take on these [00:03:21] governors and these mayors who are [00:03:23] insisting on breaking federal law [00:03:25] because of their politics. I am proud of [00:03:27] what I did today. I'm proud of Eric [00:03:29] Schmidt. I'm proud of my Republican [00:03:31] leaders. In two weeks, folks, we're [00:03:34] going to have a debate. We funded the [00:03:35] government, but we did not abandon [00:03:37] common sense. As long as I'm around and [00:03:40] my Republican colleagues, we're going to [00:03:42] challenge the radical left. These people [00:03:44] disgust me about what they're saying to [00:03:46] our men and women of ICE. If they made [00:03:48] mistakes, we'll hold them accountable. [00:03:50] They're calling them Nazis. If you're [00:03:51] frustrated, so am I. We're going to go [00:03:54] back and take over this issue. 8020. The [00:03:57] public is with us. Republicans, don't be [00:04:00] afraid to stand up for common sense. [00:04:02] Don't let the liberal Democrats coach [00:04:03] you into being ashamed of trying to [00:04:05] change the country and reverse Biden [00:04:08] policy. We're right. The public will be [00:04:10] with us. But they got to see us [00:04:12] fighting. We got to give them a chance [00:04:14] to see the difference between us and [00:04:16] liberal Democrats. And I can't [00:04:20] wait till John Kennedy gets on the floor [00:04:22] and sticks it to him about the insanity [00:04:25] of sanctuary cities.
