we talked he [00:09:21] did three major [00:09:23] operations uh that are very well known [00:09:25] in the us and actually worldwide first [00:09:28] one being [00:09:29] uh operation red wings he was on the [00:09:31] recovery mission for that [00:09:33] and so we go into depth on what that was [00:09:36] like that for those of you that don't [00:09:38] know what that operation was you may [00:09:40] know the movie lone survivor or may have [00:09:42] heard of marcus latrell it's that [00:09:45] operation that he was on he went in [00:09:48] and we get detailed explanati uh [00:09:51] detailed insight of what that was like [00:09:54] then we kind of move into [00:09:56] uh the i don't know how many of you guys [00:09:58] remember captain phillips [00:10:00] on the us or on the uh marisk [00:10:03] do you guys remember the marisca alabama [00:10:06] captain phillips they made a movie [00:10:08] about that one too [00:10:10] well rob was there for that he jumped in [00:10:13] we talked a lot about that raid what he [00:10:16] was or not raid that sniper operation [00:10:19] on what he did his part in that [00:10:23] actually to be honest with you it's [00:10:24] actually pretty damn funny [00:10:27] when he tells it [00:10:28] and um [00:10:30] so we talk about that then [00:10:33] we get into uh some of the stuff that he [00:10:35] was doing ira in iraq when he was over [00:10:37] at dev group still team six red team all [00:10:40] right and uh also [00:10:43] some of the most descriptive [00:10:46] war fighting [00:10:48] content [00:10:49] that you'll ever hear [00:10:51] and um [00:10:52] to be honest with you i kind of knew [00:10:54] about a lot of the other stuff i thought [00:10:56] that portion of the interview was [00:10:58] probably the best because [00:11:01] the reason being because how descriptive [00:11:04] it is [00:11:05] and also [00:11:06] he also talks about [00:11:09] uh he's just never he's never told that [00:11:11] stuff before [00:11:13] so um [00:11:15] it's cool to get somebody that's been on [00:11:17] damn near every podcast in the country [00:11:20] all the big ones anyways [00:11:22] and uh to get him on here and to get him [00:11:23] talking about stuff that he's never [00:11:25] talked about before [00:11:26] is pretty cool um [00:11:29] on top of that kind of in between all of [00:11:32] the interview segments that i was [00:11:33] telling you guys about [00:11:35] in between that [00:11:36] there's i don't really know what you [00:11:38] would call it it's a very different [00:11:40] interview than what i normally do [00:11:43] normally there's a lot of emotion [00:11:45] there's a lot of [00:11:46] opening up and talking about struggles [00:11:50] uh in the life we don't really get into [00:11:53] rob's struggles in life and he he [00:11:56] doesn't he definitely opens up but he [00:11:58] doesn't really open up emotionally and [00:12:01] uh but what we do do is we talk about [00:12:04] things that you haven't heard you [00:12:06] haven't heard me talk about it you [00:12:08] haven't heard rob talk about it [00:12:10] and some of the things we're talking [00:12:12] about are [00:12:13] the iraq war you know now that it's over [00:12:16] and that we both have been out of it for [00:12:18] quite some time now [00:12:21] we brought up the topic should we ever [00:12:23] have been in iraq [00:12:24] in the first place was it the right [00:12:26] thing to do or was it just about money [00:12:29] to get [00:12:30] uh the [00:12:32] how to get halliburton the big the big [00:12:35] uh the big [00:12:36] contracting company that was over their [00:12:38] logistics company [00:12:40] uh was a big was it a big money thing [00:12:42] for them i don't know [00:12:44] you know the bush administration had [00:12:46] some [ __ ] to do with that obviously [00:12:48] because cheney was tied in with [00:12:50] halliburton halliburton pretty much ran [00:12:53] all the logistics in iraq when we were [00:12:54] over there that's right kbr [00:12:57] and um [00:12:58] so [00:13:00] we talk a lot about that and i thought [00:13:02] that was really [00:13:03] cool [00:13:04] that we're talking about that because [00:13:07] it hasn't been talked about before [00:13:09] um yeah i just saw somebody comment if [00:13:11] you guys don't mind if you could just [00:13:14] hit the like button [00:13:16] that'll be really cool because [00:13:19] likes [00:13:20] help us beat the [00:13:22] algorithm [00:13:23] which is [00:13:24] kind of unbeatable lately [00:13:27] so um [00:13:29] but anyways also [00:13:31] uh some of the other stuff we talk about [00:13:33] we talk about rob is actually when he [00:13:35] gets into his iraq stuff he talks about [00:13:38] they were having competitions when they [00:13:40] were going through houses and they were [00:13:42] sneaking in the houses and seeing how [00:13:44] many guys [00:13:46] basically they could kill in their sleep [00:13:49] as they're going [00:13:50] uh through these houses in iraq and um [00:13:54] then that kind of brings up another [00:13:55] conversation and we start talking about [00:13:58] things like [00:14:00] would we have been friends with our [00:14:01] enemies we talk about you know if things [00:14:04] were under different circumstances [00:14:06] you know because [00:14:08] when it comes down to it [00:14:09] the peep the enemy over there [00:14:12] was standing up for what they believe in [00:14:14] and we went over there [00:14:16] standing up for what we believe in [00:14:19] and it's just two totally different [00:14:20] perspectives on life if you think about [00:14:22] it from an outside from an outsider's [00:14:25] view completely unemotional [00:14:27] it's just people standing up for what [00:14:29] they believe in and uh so we have a very [00:14:32] in-depth detailed [00:14:34] conversation about [00:14:37] what we have been friends with our [00:14:38] enemies under different circumstances [00:14:41] which is another thing that you guys [00:14:42] have never heard i don't think you guys [00:14:44] have ever heard [00:14:45] any of us talk about that uh any of the [00:14:49] i have never talked about it nobody that [00:14:52] i'm really friends with in the special [00:14:53] operations community i've ever heard [00:14:55] talk about publicly and so i thought [00:14:57] that would be a great topic that just [00:14:59] kind of we just kind of fell into it and [00:15:02] um [00:15:03] actually i think that i they're doing is they're buying real [00:21:59] estate knocking all the walls out and [00:22:01] they're digging a tunnel through the [00:22:03] bottom of the [00:22:05] floor [00:22:06] or the ground it's not even the floor at [00:22:08] this point but they're digging tunnels [00:22:09] through the floor [00:22:11] and then the tunnel goes all the way [00:22:13] under the border wall into the united [00:22:15] states [00:22:16] and so [00:22:19] that [00:22:20] is also in there we actually couldn't [00:22:21] get in this house because this house has [00:22:23] already been raided caught sealed up and [00:22:26] they closed the damn tunnel but it just [00:22:29] shows you how [00:22:32] it shows you what kind of buildings that [00:22:33] they're putting these tunnels in [00:22:35] and um [00:22:37] and it's just really interesting i don't [00:22:39] know how many years it took him to do [00:22:40] that [00:22:41] but uh some other stuff that's coming [00:22:43] out with ed calderon that's what you're going to do [01:20:12] in buds is flutter kicks [01:20:15] all day all night every day in the surf [01:20:18] zone on the concrete in the sand [01:20:20] everywhere do those kind of things do [01:20:23] not [01:20:24] mess yourself up [01:20:26] don't mess your back up by doing rough [01:20:28] marches all right you're going to do [01:20:30] plenty of rock marches when you get to [01:21:39] a straight line when you're when you're [01:21:41] in a pool because you got a black line [01:21:42] to follow right in the ocean [01:21:44] you're swimming like this [01:21:47] all right which takes a lot longer to do [01:21:49] a mile when you're swimming like this [01:21:51] rather than just a straight line so [01:21:53] learn they call it guiding learn how to [01:21:55] guide [01:21:56] all right while you are [01:22:00] learn how to guide in open water to keep [01:22:02] yourself straight you're really going to [01:22:04] speed up your spin time uh swim times [01:22:06]
