[00:00:00] was I want to start with you and I just [00:00:01] want to say to you and to your husband, [00:00:03] thank you for your courage and your [00:00:06] advocacy and thank you for sharing with [00:00:08] us just a little piece of the life of [00:00:11] your beautiful son. [00:00:12] >> Uh I'm a father of three, myself, two [00:00:14] boys and a little girl and my oldest boy [00:00:17] uh is now a teenager. He just turned 13. [00:00:20] And so as I look out at the landscape [00:00:23] that he is coming into in social media, [00:00:25] I'm terrified by it. But I just know [00:00:28] parent to parent, [00:00:30] >> your son's life is changing the world. [00:00:33] >> Oh, thank you. [00:00:33] >> You know, he he's changing the world and [00:00:37] you giving him voice as you and your [00:00:39] husband are doing. Uh that's the only [00:00:41] thing that's going to make that that's [00:00:43] going to make change here in Washington [00:00:44] DC. I can tell you because who currently [00:00:46] has a hammer hold on the United States [00:00:48] Senate are the big technology companies [00:00:50] who spend endless amounts of money to [00:00:51] control the Senate. And let's just be [00:00:53] honest, we may as well put a sign on the [00:00:56] floor of the Senate that says property [00:00:58] of big tech because nothing moves across [00:01:01] that floor in my observation. Nothing [00:01:03] that they don't want. They spend money [00:01:06] to control and to buy access and [00:01:08] influence. And the only thing that will [00:01:10] break that, I believe, is the truth of [00:01:13] experiences like yours and the voice of [00:01:15] your sons to confront lawmakers with the [00:01:19] fact that unless we act and do [00:01:22] something, unless we stand up to these [00:01:24] corporate interests, more and more [00:01:26] children like yours will lose their [00:01:29] lives, will lose their futures, will [00:01:30] lose their Oh.
