[00:00:00] Every day on the Steven Cobear show is
[00:00:02] basically an ad for some Democrat or
[00:00:04] other. It is just MS Now but with some
[00:00:07] bad jokes. Steven Colbear is very upset
[00:00:10] because CBS
[00:00:11] he did an interview with James Telerico
[00:00:14] on CBS and James Telerico is the
[00:00:17] probable Senate nominee for the
[00:00:19] Democrats in Texas. According to the
[00:00:22] Kelshi market, 75% of people in that
[00:00:26] Kali market believe the Telerico will be
[00:00:27] the nominee, not Jasmine Crockett.
[00:00:29] Telerico has been highly touted by a
[00:00:32] wide variety of people on the political
[00:00:33] spectrum, including, of course, Joe
[00:00:34] Rogan, whose show he appeared on.
[00:00:37] And CBS spiked the interview. And the
[00:00:40] reason that they spiked the interview is
[00:00:42] because they're afraid of the so-called
[00:00:43] equal time rule because the FCC says
[00:00:47] that particularly if you are in a Senate
[00:00:49] primary, for example, that if you
[00:00:51] provide time to one candidate, you also
[00:00:54] have to provide time to the other
[00:00:56] candidate, equal time to the other
[00:00:58] candidate. And CBS said, "We don't want
[00:00:59] to provide equal time to say Jasmine
[00:01:00] Crockett or some other fringe candidate,
[00:01:03] so we're not going to air the
[00:01:04] interview." Well, Coar then went on the
[00:01:06] air and ripped into CBS. At this point,
[00:01:08] Colbear is just he is hoping that he is
[00:01:11] fired. He wants to be fired. Again, his
[00:01:14] contract will come to its terminus. That
[00:01:17] has already been declared, but he wants
[00:01:18] to be fired so that he can be treated as
[00:01:20] a victim, as a victim of the Trump
[00:01:22] administration and their evil acolytes
[00:01:25] like Larry and David Ellison. That that
[00:01:26] that is his goal. He is actively
[00:01:29] attempting to militate for his own
[00:01:31] dismissal. That is what he is doing
[00:01:33] right now. So, he goes on the air after
[00:01:35] this interview is spiked, and it was
[00:01:36] spiked, as we will explore in a moment,
[00:01:38] for a fairly decent legal reason, and he
[00:01:41] proceeds to rip into CBS. And by the
[00:01:42] way, CBS allows this to air.
[00:01:46] You you you might have heard of this
[00:01:47] thing called the equal time rule, okay?
[00:01:49] It's an old FCC rule that applies only
[00:01:51] to radio and broadcast television, not
[00:01:53] cable or streaming, that says if a show
[00:01:56] has a candidate on during an election,
[00:01:58] they have to have all that candidates's
[00:01:59] opponents on as well. It's the FCC's
[00:02:02] most timehonored rule right after no
[00:02:04] nipples at the Super Bowl.
[00:02:08] There's there's long been an exception
[00:02:10] for this rule. An exception for news
[00:02:13] interviews and talk show interviews with
[00:02:16] politicians. Now, that's crucial. How
[00:02:18] else were voters supposed to know back
[00:02:20] in '92 that Bill Clinton sucked at
[00:02:22] saxophone?
[00:02:24] But on January 21st of this year, a
[00:02:27] letter was released by FCC chairman and
[00:02:30] smug bowling pin Brendan Carr.
[00:02:33] In this letter, Carr said he was
[00:02:35] thinking about dropping the exception
[00:02:36] for talk shows because he said some of
[00:02:38] them were motivated by partisan
[00:02:41] purposes. Well, sir, you're chairman of
[00:02:44] the FCC. So, FCCU.
[00:02:49] Okay. So, by the way, Brennan Carr is
[00:02:51] right. Steven Clar obviously is
[00:02:53] motivated by partisan purposes. When was
[00:02:55] the last time he had on a major
[00:02:56] Republican guest?
[00:02:59] When can you name it truly? When has he
[00:03:02] invited on a major Republican guest or
[00:03:05] and treated that person by the way if he
[00:03:07] did with the same sort of kid gloves
[00:03:09] with which he treats Democrats? Every
[00:03:10] day on the Steven Colbear show is
[00:03:12] basically an ad for some Democrat or
[00:03:14] other. It is just MS Now but with some
[00:03:18] bad jokes.
[00:03:20] Well, CBS responded by saying the late
[00:03:23] show was not prohibited by CBS from
[00:03:25] broadcasting the interview with
[00:03:26] Representative James Terico. The show
[00:03:28] was provided legal guidance that the
[00:03:29] broadcast could trigger the FCC equal
[00:03:31] time rule for two other candidates,
[00:03:33] including Representative Jasmine
[00:03:34] Crockett, and presented options for how
[00:03:36] the equal time for other candidates
[00:03:37] could be fulfilled. The Wade Show
[00:03:39] decided to present the interview through
[00:03:40] its YouTube channel with on air
[00:03:42] promotion on the broadcast rather than
[00:03:43] potentially providing the equal time
[00:03:45] options.
[00:03:46] So, first Cole Bar and team sort of
[00:03:49] tried to retell the lie that they would
[00:03:52] not allow that the FCC had overtly
[00:03:55] banned CBS from airing the interview.
[00:03:57] That is not true. Then he tried to
[00:03:58] retail the lie that CBS banned the
[00:04:00] interview with Terico because what they
[00:04:02] were afraid of Terico and they they were
[00:04:03] saying that if he aired it with Terico
[00:04:05] then presumably he would also have to
[00:04:06] have on a Republican like a John Cornin
[00:04:08] or a Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate
[00:04:10] race. That is not what the equal time
[00:04:11] rule says. They're in the middle of a
[00:04:13] primary season. he would have had to had
[00:04:14] on another Democrat, Representative
[00:04:16] Jasmine Crockett. And the late show
[00:04:18] itself, like the producers, decided not
[00:04:21] to promote that interview on the air
[00:04:22] because then they would have to do the
[00:04:24] same for other Democrats.
[00:04:26] For what it's worth, for what it's
[00:04:28] worth, Telerico is basically just
[00:04:31] straight Pete Buddha Judge. That is his
[00:04:33] entiretick down to the Pastor Pete
[00:04:36] routine. So, one of the most irritating
[00:04:37] facets of the Pete Buddha Judge for
[00:04:40] President campaign, if you can remember
[00:04:41] back that far since every day in
[00:04:42] American politics is now charted in dog
[00:04:45] years, if you remember the Pete Buddha
[00:04:46] Judge presidential run, the thing that
[00:04:48] irritated me most is when he would cite
[00:04:50] the Bible to say completely non-biblical
[00:04:52] things, where he would suddenly turn
[00:04:55] into your world's worst Sunday school
[00:04:57] teacher, explaining to you that the
[00:04:59] Bible has nothing to say about issues
[00:05:01] ranging from same-sex marriage to
[00:05:02] abortion, and that basically it's just a
[00:05:04] social justice document drafted by the
[00:05:06] Democratic National Committee. Well, now
[00:05:08] James Terico is doing the same exact
[00:05:10] thing. He's out there claiming that
[00:05:12] you're a bad Christian if you believe
[00:05:13] that, for example, samesex marriage is
[00:05:16] non-biblical. For the record, samesex
[00:05:18] marriage is non-biblical. There are many
[00:05:21] books of the Bible that reference this,
[00:05:23] not least of which is Leviticus.
[00:05:25] But here is James Tallerico trying to do
[00:05:28] the past repeat routine.
[00:05:30] >> Jesus gave us two commandments, love God
[00:05:33] and love neighbor. And there was no
[00:05:36] exception to that second commandment.
[00:05:38] Love thy neighbor regardless of race or
[00:05:40] gender or sexual orientation or
[00:05:43] immigration status or religious
[00:05:44] affiliation. And it's why I have fought
[00:05:48] so hard for the separation of church and
[00:05:49] state in the state capital in Texas.
[00:05:54] I'm sorry. When Democrats try to retail
[00:05:56] their own religiosity on the basis of
[00:05:58] Jesus apparently was a post-religious
[00:06:01] figure who is in favor of secular
[00:06:03] humanism. I may not be a New Testament
[00:06:05] expert, but it seems to me that Jesus
[00:06:09] was in his human form a Jew growing up
[00:06:13] under biblical law and that Jesus then
[00:06:16] as the creator of Christianity proceeded
[00:06:20] to suggest that people ought to follow
[00:06:22] the precepts of Christianity rather
[00:06:24] exclusively.
[00:06:25] I feel it's a rather non-controversial
[00:06:27] take on the Bible.
[00:06:29] But the stick that Democrats do where
[00:06:30] they have they can't just say, "Listen,
[00:06:32] they don't do the old school Bill
[00:06:33] Clinton routine." It's amazing how far
[00:06:35] Democrats have moved in my lifetime.
[00:06:36] Democrats used to do this routine where
[00:06:38] they would say, "Sure, the Bible says
[00:06:39] that abortion is bad, that Christianity
[00:06:42] says abortion is bad." Long-standing
[00:06:43] several thousand years old doctrine that
[00:06:45] abortion is not a good and that samesex
[00:06:48] marriage is not a thing, and that
[00:06:50] homosexual activity is a sin. Right?
[00:06:52] Like, these are long-standing religious
[00:06:53] traditions. But we have separation of
[00:06:56] church and state. And so in terms of
[00:06:58] public policy, I don't make public
[00:06:59] policy on the basis of biblical law
[00:07:01] because this is not a theocracy. That
[00:07:02] used to be the democratic stance,
[00:07:05] which I think is weak when it comes to
[00:07:07] trying to make peace with Christians,
[00:07:09] but at least is arguable. You know,
[00:07:12] Spikeley, if he is going to, you know,
[00:07:14] spend his time critiquing other
[00:07:15] countries, maybe he should spend some
[00:07:17] time in some of the worst parts of the
[00:07:18] world so he could be a little bit more
[00:07:19] grateful for Western civilization. But
[00:07:21] while he's traveling to those terrible
[00:07:23] parts of the world, perhaps he should
[00:07:24] protect his internet activity the way
[00:07:26] you should when you travel with, you
[00:07:28] know what I'm going to say? ExpressVPN.
[00:07:30] See, here's the thing. When you go all
[00:07:32] over the world, you actually don't know
[00:07:33] who's on your network. If the Wi-Fi is
[00:07:35] secure, if the government is watching
[00:07:36] your data, that's why I take privacy
[00:07:38] seriously and why I use our sponsor,
[00:07:39] ExpressVPN. It's fast, it's reliable, it
[00:07:41] keeps my information safe. ExpressVPN is
[00:07:44] the app I trust to protect my privacy
[00:07:45] online. Period. It reroutes your
[00:07:47] internet connection so nobody, not your
[00:07:49] Wi-Fi admin, not your service provider,
[00:07:50] not even government agencies can spy on
[00:07:52] what it is that you are doing.
[00:07:54] Obviously, I travel a lot. When I'm out
[00:07:56] of town, I have to use public Wi-Fi. I'm
[00:07:57] using like hotel Wi-Fi and I don't know
[00:07:59] who's on that network. So, I'm using
[00:08:00] ExpressVPN. ExpressVPN encrypts 100% of
[00:08:03] your data, your login, credit cards, all
[00:08:05] of it. So, hackers are completely out of
[00:08:06] luck. And here's the thing, it is the
[00:08:07] only VPN that I actually recommend cuz I
[00:08:10] use it. It's ranked number one by the
[00:08:11] Virgin CNET. You can use it on up to 14
[00:08:13] devices at once. That means your whole
[00:08:15] family is protected. Right now, you can
[00:08:17] get ExpressVPN for just $3.49 a month.
[00:08:19] That's less than 12 cents a day. And my
[00:08:21] listeners can get an additional four
[00:08:22] months of service when you use my link
[00:08:24] at expressvpn.com/ben.
[00:08:26] That's ex psvpn.com/ben
[00:08:29] for four additional months of service
[00:08:30] with ExpressVPN. The new Democratic
[00:08:32] stand is that the Bible is somehow a
[00:08:35] document that greenlights samesex
[00:08:37] marriage and encourages abortion and
[00:08:40] that if you truly were a Christian, you
[00:08:42] would you would be in favor of all these
[00:08:43] things. When when Taller Rico says love
[00:08:45] thy neighbor means love thy neighbor
[00:08:46] regardless of immigration status or
[00:08:48] sexual orientation.
[00:08:50] What what when the Bible says that what
[00:08:52] it means that you are supposed to love
[00:08:54] thy neighbor as thyself but you are not
[00:08:56] supposed to love his sin. In fact you
[00:08:59] are not supposed to place a stumbling
[00:09:01] block in front of the blind. Another
[00:09:02] biblical injunction which is commonly
[00:09:05] presumed to mean that you are not
[00:09:07] supposed to allow your neighbor to go
[00:09:09] without redress if he is sinning. You're
[00:09:11] supposed to warn him. That is a biblical
[00:09:13] injunction to warn your neighbor if he
[00:09:15] is sinning.
[00:09:17] But again, it's all about the virtue
[00:09:19] signaling for the Democrats. And so,
[00:09:20] back to CBS again, what what's happening
[00:09:22] at CBS right now is an attempt to
[00:09:25] basically scuttle the ownership change
[00:09:27] at CBS and also to go after Barry Weiss
[00:09:29] at CBS News. It is all a virtue
[00:09:31] signaling point. It has nothing to do
[00:09:33] with reality.
[00:09:35] Democratic lawmakers, for their part,
[00:09:36] are suggesting they're now going to
[00:09:38] investigate CBS
[00:09:43] Representative Darren Sodto of Florida
[00:09:44] accused Brennan Carr of blocking
[00:09:46] Democratic candidates as part of his
[00:09:47] reign on unlawful censorship, vowing, a
[00:09:50] reckoning is coming and including an
[00:09:51] investigation of this outrage by
[00:09:53] Democrats on the House Energy and
[00:09:55] Commerce Committee. Ooh, the vaunted
[00:09:57] House Energy and Commerce Committee. An
[00:09:59] investigation,
[00:10:01] by the way, just shows you what
[00:10:02] Democrats are going to do with Congress
[00:10:03] if they happen to win in 2026, which is
[00:10:05] shut everything down. I mean, basically,
[00:10:06] it's going to be investigations out the
[00:10:08] wazoo. Nothing will happen ever again.
[00:10:10] Meanwhile, Anderson Cooper is doing the
[00:10:11] same routine. So, he is leaving at 60
[00:10:13] Minutes. He actually was given an offer
[00:10:15] by CBS News to remain, but apparently he
[00:10:18] is turning that down. You would assume
[00:10:21] the reason he's turning that down is
[00:10:23] sort of a soft slap at Barry Weiss and
[00:10:25] her takeover of CBS News.
[00:10:30] He put out a statement, quote, "Being a
[00:10:31] correspondent at 60 Minutes has been one
[00:10:33] of the highlights of my career. I got to
[00:10:34] tell amazing stories and work with some
[00:10:36] of the best producers, editors, and
[00:10:37] camera crews in the business. For nearly
[00:10:39] 20 years, I've been able to balance my
[00:10:40] jobs at CNN and CBS. But I have little
[00:10:42] kids now, and I want to spend as much
[00:10:43] time with them as possible while they
[00:10:45] want to spend time with me. So, I I
[00:10:47] imagine that sometime in the near
[00:10:49] future, he will come out with his
[00:10:50] ringing critique of Barry Weiss and and
[00:10:54] the Ellison's. And it is all about the
[00:10:56] virtue signaling for the Democrats. It
[00:10:57] is not about reality.
[00:10:59] >> Hey Ben, can you do another read for the
[00:11:01] Ben Shapiro clips channel
[00:11:02] >> again? No, I'm done for the day. I'm out
[00:11:06] of it.
