[00:00:00] Charlie loves Chicago. Charlie's from [00:00:01] northern uh suburbs of Chicago in [00:00:03] Wheeling, Illinois. Grew up a big Bears [00:00:05] fan. And it looks like the Bears, [00:00:10] >> the Chicago Bears, [00:00:12] >> the Chicago Bears are becoming the the [00:00:14] Gary Bears. [00:00:15] >> They could be moving. It looks I mean, I [00:00:17] think it's still ongoing. Nothing's been [00:00:18] decided yet, but more and more likely [00:00:21] that they will be moving to northern [00:00:23] Indiana, [00:00:25] which is a remarkable turn of events if [00:00:28] that was going to happen. It's about an [00:00:30] hour and a half drive for some people to [00:00:33] get to the new [00:00:34] >> half hour. It would be a half hour from [00:00:36] Soldier Field with no traffic, [00:00:38] >> 27 miles from Soldierfield, which is [00:00:42] just a remarkable thing. Let's go ahead [00:00:44] and play uh Mayor Brandon Johnson, the [00:00:46] communist, talking about this 559. [00:00:50] >> Is my face straight? Okay. All right. [00:00:54] Keep a straight face here. [00:00:57] The Bears belong in the city of Chicago. [00:00:59] The Chicago Bears belong in the city of [00:01:01] Chicago, right? And I've said repeatedly [00:01:04] that the door is always open uh for [00:01:06] conversations, you know, and you know, I [00:01:11] you know, Kevin Warren did call me [00:01:13] yesterday. We didn't get a chance to [00:01:14] connect, you know, and I I I I still [00:01:18] firmly believe that their best position [00:01:21] is in Chicago. And it's evidence the [00:01:24] evidence is clearly speaking for itself. [00:01:27] >> We've got old Charlie tweet. He he was a [00:01:29] big long Bears fan. You can throw up, [00:01:31] you cycle through those, you know, [00:01:33] Bears, that's what you get for poor [00:01:34] management and terrible coaching. Cutler [00:01:36] got what he deserved. What an awful [00:01:38] call. #bears fantasy advice. Find the [00:01:41] team playing the Bears, trade for their [00:01:44] defense, and start them. He was a long [00:01:46] suffering Chicago Bears fan. And so, I [00:01:48] of course am a Packers fan. I'm very [00:01:50] torn here because on the one hand, I am [00:01:52] a Packers fan. So, I enjoy seeing the [00:01:55] Bears lose. I enjoy seeing them get [00:01:57] humiliated a little, but at the same [00:01:59] time, it feels weird to say. I think the [00:02:02] mayor's correct. The the Chicago Bears, [00:02:05] they should play in Chicago. They should [00:02:07] at least play in Illinois. There is [00:02:08] something fundamentally messed up when a [00:02:11] team is not even in the correct state of [00:02:15] who they supposedly represent. There's [00:02:17] something way off about that. I feel the [00:02:19] same about like the San Francisco 49ers. [00:02:22] >> Yes, they're playing in Santa Clara, [00:02:24] which is a massive drive. It's so far [00:02:26] away from San Francisco, but we still [00:02:27] call them the San Francisco 49ers. This [00:02:29] is the new problem. At least the New [00:02:31] England Patriots aren't the Boston [00:02:32] Patriots anymore. They did you know that [00:02:34] their stadium is literally closer to [00:02:35] Providence, Rhode Island, a different [00:02:37] major city, than it is to Boston? It's [00:02:39] that far out of the city. [00:02:41] >> Charlie Kirk believed courage and [00:02:43] conviction still matter. He wanted every [00:02:45] Christian to stand firm in their faith, [00:02:47] no matter the cost. That's why The Voice [00:02:49] of the Martyrs is offering you a free [00:02:51] copy of Extreme Devotion. Inside are [00:02:53] true stories of Christians in places [00:02:55] like China, Iran, and Nigeria who [00:02:57] refused to deny Jesus Christ even in the [00:03:00] face of imprisonment or death. Charlie's [00:03:02] passion was to see that kind of faith in [00:03:04] all of us. Get your free copy today at [00:03:06] vom.org/charlie. [00:03:08] That's vom.org/charlie. [00:03:16] And I I I think it's it's an unfortunate [00:03:19] thing. Listen though, but this is what [00:03:22] happens when you have an incompetent [00:03:23] local government that can't put business [00:03:26] first, can't put its own citizens first. [00:03:28] They had bought land in Chicago years [00:03:31] ago planning to develop that land and [00:03:34] upgrade from Soldier Field. Now, we [00:03:36] could have lots of commentary around the [00:03:39] fact that, you know, should local [00:03:42] governments be supporting their local [00:03:45] teams? Should it be this sort of uh it's [00:03:47] an intermix of private, [00:03:49] >> let's just say public funds. [00:03:50] >> It never pays off to spend as much as [00:03:53] these cities do on what is a private [00:03:56] for-profit endeavor in every case except [00:03:58] the Green Bay Packers. Uh the it's a [00:04:02] billionaire, a mega billionaire who owns [00:04:03] these teams and their values have gone [00:04:06] up massively over time in large parts by [00:04:09] local government. [00:04:10] >> Huge subsidies. You'll get cities that [00:04:12] will spend a billion dollars, $2 billion [00:04:15] to build a stadium that is then all the [00:04:17] profits go to a private actor and then [00:04:19] in 20 years they say, "Uh, it's out of [00:04:21] date. We need to blow it up again. Give [00:04:23] me another $2 billion or I'm going to [00:04:25] move the team to San Antonio." [00:04:27] >> But this is this is just the competition [00:04:28] that they have to deal with. Mike [00:04:30] Braraw, the governor of Indiana, is [00:04:31] saying, "Come in. Come over to Indiana. [00:04:34] We want your business." They're passing [00:04:36] the the House Ways and Means uh [00:04:38] Committee unanimously passed an [00:04:39] amendment bill, Senate Bill 27, creating [00:04:41] a framework for Northwest Indiana [00:04:43] Stadium Authority that would enable [00:04:45] bonding, land acquisition, and financing [00:04:47] for a new stadium. So, they're rolling [00:04:49] out the red carpet for these. Meanwhile, [00:04:51] Chicago's like, "We want you to stay, [00:04:55] but only so much. And we're, and by the [00:04:57] way, we sort of resent you because [00:04:59] you're rich and we're not going to roll [00:05:00] out the red carpet." The problem is, [00:05:02] yeah, you could say that it's gross [00:05:03] these public private partnerships, but [00:05:05] there's always somebody willing to take [00:05:06] your business and they're willing to [00:05:08] roll out the red carpet. So, listen, if [00:05:11] you want to compete, you got to compete. [00:05:12] This is the problem with Democrats in [00:05:14] general is they're not willing to think [00:05:16] business first. Above all, I think above [00:05:18] all, it's a sign of how we can't in [00:05:21] cities, you just can't build anything [00:05:23] anymore. To build a city, it's the [00:05:25] endless legal, regulatory, environmental [00:05:27] roadblocks. And then if you finally do [00:05:29] build it, it takes longer than expected. [00:05:31] It costs two or three times more than it [00:05:33] should. Every stadium, look them up. [00:05:35] Every stadium in inflationadjusted [00:05:37] dollars, something built in 1960 that [00:05:40] cost 5 million then and it would cost [00:05:42] $50 million today. And then the [00:05:44] replacement stadium will seat fewer [00:05:46] people and it will cost $3 billion. [00:05:49] >> Well, so it's not finalized yet. More [00:05:50] due diligence, negoti negotiations, and [00:05:53] approvals are needed, but it insiders [00:05:56] are saying it's close to an [00:05:57] inevitability that the Chicago Bears are [00:06:00] moving to Indiana. [00:06:01] >> Gary Bears, you take just take out the R [00:06:03] and you'll get what how this really is. [00:06:04] >> Yes, the the the Gary Bears. [00:06:07] >> The Gary Bears, like the Care Bears. [00:06:08] >> We have one more sports thing that we [00:06:10] should flag. [00:06:10] >> We should hit it. But by the way, they [00:06:12] say Illinois if it's it's an [00:06:13] inevitability if Illinois does not [00:06:16] counter strongly. So balls in your [00:06:19] court, you are on offense if you want
