[00:24:10] me please. [00:24:15] Oh, say [00:24:18] can you see [00:24:21] by the dawn early light [00:24:26] what so proudly we held [00:24:31] at the twilight [00:24:34] last gleaming [00:24:36] who broad stripes and bright stars [00:24:42] through the peril. colorless fight [00:24:47] or the brearts [00:24:49] we watch [00:24:52] were so gallently [00:24:56] streaming. [00:24:59] And the rockets red glare. [00:25:03] The bombs bursting [00:25:05] in air gave proof through the night that [00:25:12] our flag was still there. [00:25:17] Oh, say [00:25:19] does that star spangled [00:25:23] B [00:25:26] away. [00:25:28] [Music] [00:25:30] Or the land [00:25:33] of the free [00:25:39] and the home of the [00:25:45] brave. [00:25:56] Thank you. [00:26:00] A quote from Charlie. He said he wanted [00:26:03] to be remembered most for his courage in [00:26:06] faith. So as honor to him, I offer this [00:26:09] song. [00:26:11] Sing the wondrous love of Jesus. [00:26:17] Sing his mercy and his grace. [00:26:21] In the manions, bright and blessed, [00:26:26] he'll prepare for us a place when we all [00:26:32] get to heaven. [00:26:34] What a day of rejoicing that will be [00:26:39] when we all see Jesus. [00:26:44] We'll sing and shout for victory. [00:26:49] Thank you. [00:27:11] [Music] [00:27:14] We're we're active in about 15 campuses [00:27:16] and we're growing very very quickly. And [00:27:18] keep in mind this is not just a flash in [00:27:20] the pan movement. Uh we're going to [00:27:21] become an institution to give them the [00:27:23] power and the confidence to stand up and [00:27:25] let their voice be heard. [00:27:26] >> I started this organization when I was [00:27:28] 18 years old. I decided uh not to go to [00:27:30] college. I didn't get in my dream school [00:27:31] which was the United States Military [00:27:33] Academy at West Point. I have this idea [00:27:34] to galvanize and motivate the future [00:27:36] youth of this country around a core set [00:27:38] of ideas, not just political parties or [00:27:40] politicians. And the ideas are really [00:27:42] America is the greatest country in the [00:27:43] history of the world. Constitution is [00:27:45] the greatest political document ever [00:27:46] written and free enterprise the most [00:27:47] assured way to lift people out of [00:27:48] poverty and create prosperity for all. [00:27:50] Those are the three big ideas. Um and I [00:27:52] think that's something that can win. [00:28:01] We as Christians are called to go into [00:28:03] the public arena to correct error with [00:28:07] truth. So I go to college campuses and [00:28:09] there's a lot of error. We're all [00:28:10] sinners. We are all living in error. I'm [00:28:12] far more interested in what God wants of [00:28:14] me than what I want of from God. [00:28:16] >> I have to say this without getting [00:28:18] emotional, but I'm very proud of my [00:28:19] husband and I know many of you are too. [00:28:25] you have worked so hard and I know a lot [00:28:27] of you have seen obviously his videos on [00:28:30] Tik Tok and all the stuff he does on [00:28:32] campus but no one gets to see him from [00:28:36] my angle except for myself and our [00:28:38] children [00:28:43] [Music] [00:28:47] >> the best [00:28:48] >> and the sacrifices that he made this [00:28:51] year [00:28:53] he's amazing I'm very blessed And I I [00:28:55] would not have been able to do any of it [00:28:57] without Erica. And that's the real [00:28:58] truth. I'll tell you what. [00:29:02] You are here as a grassroots response to [00:29:05] the top down revolution happening in [00:29:07] this country. I want our Turning Point [00:29:09] USA students to receive a round of [00:29:11] applause. These are the freedom fighters [00:29:13] of America. [00:29:17] >> The media said that Turning Point could [00:29:19] never run a ground game. They weren't [00:29:21] experienced. They didn't know Charlie. [00:29:23] Right. This is the greatest generational [00:29:26] realignment since Woodstock. This [00:29:28] generation is the most conservative [00:29:30] generation that we have seen in well [00:29:32] over 50 years. And the numbers show it. [00:29:35] What young people especially are [00:29:37] screaming at is they say, "Give me a [00:29:41] structure that I can live my life by." [00:29:44] And especially with young men, more [00:29:46] challenging of them, more saying, "You [00:29:48] know what? Honestly, I'm not going to [00:29:49] talk down to you. Stop being a boy and [00:29:51] become a man. And you want to learn what [00:29:53] that means? Come to church and I'll tell [00:29:54] you what it means to become a man. Cuz [00:29:56] we have the greatest story ever told. [00:29:59] What can I do to save the country? You [00:30:01] answer that question every single day [00:30:03] because you are doing the work to save [00:30:06] this beautiful republic. You are doing [00:30:08] something that is bigger than you. [00:30:12] >> If everything [00:30:14] completely goes away, how do you want to [00:30:16] be remembered? [00:30:16] >> I want to be I want to be remembered for [00:30:18] for courage for my faith. That that [00:30:21] would be the most important thing. Most [00:30:22] important thing is my faith in my life. [00:30:30] [Music] [00:31:12] to you all gathered here this evening [00:31:15] just on behalf of the Catholic Newman [00:31:18] Center that serves ASU [00:31:20] and uh so many more of the Catholic [00:31:22] community in Arizona. I do want to [00:31:23] express to you all our sorrow, which is [00:31:27] deep, our prayers, our support, but I [00:31:29] think especially our love. These are [00:31:31] difficult times for Christians, and it's [00:31:33] important that we all draw together. I [00:31:36] have had several delightful [00:31:37] conversations with Charlie when he's [00:31:39] been on campus here at ASU. It seems to [00:31:42] me that there are, in addition to his [00:31:44] wonderful attributes, three areas where [00:31:47] he really kind of shines and stands out. [00:31:49] Conversation would be number one. [00:31:52] He was able to do what many can't or [00:31:54] want to do. Have difficult conversations [00:31:58] about cultural matters. [00:32:01] An awareness of human dignity and [00:32:04] courage is what it takes to engage in [00:32:07] what he did. Secondly, he's tremendously [00:32:09] persuasive and that's a rare gift [00:32:11] because persuasion is always a civilized [00:32:14] approach when there's disagreement. But [00:32:16] there's been a disconnect with reason [00:32:19] that Charlie was keenly aware of today. [00:32:21] And it's this disconnect that has [00:32:23] largely led to many turning to violence [00:32:25] in the belief that it will solve their [00:32:27] problems. Snuff out the voice of reason. [00:32:31] Charlie's ability to reason enabled his [00:32:34] carism of persuasion. [00:32:37] And third, [00:32:39] a very touch the very touchstone of [00:32:41] every part of his life was his Lord and [00:32:44] Savior Jesus Christ. Everything he said [00:32:46] and did would find reference to Jesus [00:32:48] Christ. would that everyone could order [00:32:52] their lives as such. Charlie was a [00:32:54] fearless evangelizer to be sure and [00:32:57] we're starting to see the fruits of that [00:32:59] even now. How many of you went to church [00:33:00] yesterday and the place was packed? [00:33:03] >> Yeah. [00:33:08] [Music] [00:33:10] He fought the good fight and finished [00:33:13] the race. Conversation, persuasion, all [00:33:16] for Jesus Christ. Well, as it said, we [00:33:19] are all Charlie Kirk. Now, if you would [00:33:23] join me in prayer. [00:33:30] Heavenly Father, grant eternal rest, [00:33:32] light, and peace to your servant Charlie [00:33:34] who placed his trust in you. As he was [00:33:36] profoundly aware, Lord, help us to see [00:33:38] the humanity in each other. When we do [00:33:41] that, we can do no harm to one another [00:33:43] because we see the great dignity with [00:33:45] which we were created. Hear the cries of [00:33:48] those who have suffered from violence [00:33:50] and harm. Grant healing for their [00:33:52] bodies, minds, and spirits. Strengthen [00:33:54] them in hope in your everlasting [00:33:57] goodness and love. Be a refuge for the [00:34:00] lost, a gentle presence for the lonely, [00:34:03] a source of courage for us all. To our [00:34:06] oppressors and those who have committed [00:34:08] acts of violence, move them to [00:34:10] repentance, healing, a desire for [00:34:12] justice. Transform the hearts of those [00:34:14] who harbor hatred. replace it with the [00:34:16] spirit of your peace. Help us everyone [00:34:20] to follow the path of Jesus by drawing [00:34:24] good from evil, life from death, hope [00:34:26] from despair. [00:34:28] Strengthen us to build communities where [00:34:31] violence is no more, where love, [00:34:33] understanding, peace, faithfulness all [00:34:35] flourish. For you are good and gracious [00:34:38] and will only what is good for us. You [00:34:40] are Lord forever and ever. Amen. [00:34:45] Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and [00:34:47] let perpetual light shine upon him. May [00:34:50] his soul and the souls of all the [00:34:51] faithful departed through the mercy of [00:34:53] God rest in peace. Amen. And may the [00:34:56] Lord God Almighty bless all of us [00:34:58] gathered here today, protect us from all [00:35:01] evil, and bring us to everlasting life. [00:35:04] Amen. [00:36:14] Good evening everyone. I want to start [00:36:16] by thanking all of you for coming out [00:36:18] tonight, for showing up, and for [00:36:20] standing together. Seeing so many of you [00:36:23] here means so much, especially to the [00:36:25] students who worked incredibly hard to [00:36:26] make this possible. And it shows the [00:36:29] kind of love and support that words [00:36:31] can't fully capture. [00:36:34] When we lose someone who meant so much, [00:36:36] it's easy to feel heavy, to feel like [00:36:39] we're carrying it all on our own. But [00:36:41] tonight shows us that we're not alone. [00:36:44] We are here together, remembering [00:36:46] Charlie, grieving together, and honoring [00:36:49] his life in a way that I believe would [00:36:51] make him proud. [00:36:54] Charlie's story began right here at ASU. [00:36:57] And to see one of the largest vigils in [00:36:59] the nation take place on this campus is [00:37:01] powerful and meaningful. [00:37:04] It shows that what started here has [00:37:06] grown far and has touched people across [00:37:08] this great nation. [00:37:10] I ask that you guys either turn on the [00:37:12] candles that you have brought or take [00:37:14] out your flashlights at this time. [00:37:34] Charlie inspired people. He challenged [00:37:36] us. He pushed us to think bigger. And he [00:37:39] gave people a sense of belonging and [00:37:41] purpose. That is why tonight matters. [00:37:44] Because by holding these lights, we are [00:37:46] showing that his light has not gone out. [00:37:48] It lives on in the people he touched, in [00:37:51] the conversations he started, and in the [00:37:53] community gathered here tonight. [00:38:03] So, let us not only grieve, but also be [00:38:06] graceful. Grateful. Grateful for the [00:38:08] time we had with him, grateful for the [00:38:10] impact he made, and grateful for one [00:38:13] another. Because coming together like [00:38:15] this is how we carry his legacy forward. [00:38:18] On behalf of everyone here, thank you [00:38:20] again for being a part of this vigil, [00:38:22] for your love, your prayers, and your [00:38:24] presence. Together, we honor Charlie, [00:38:27] not just in memory, but in the way we [00:38:29] live and support each other moving [00:38:30] forward. To conclude, our vice [00:38:33] president, Armani Gonzalez, will share a [00:38:36] quote, and then we will pass it to the [00:38:37] college Republicans. Thank you. [00:38:40] [Applause] [00:38:47] [Applause] [00:38:49] So there's a quote that I would like to [00:38:51] share with all of you by CS Lewis. I [00:38:54] found it on Charlie's Twitter or axe [00:38:56] account a while ago and I think it's [00:38:58] very pertinent to that uh to this [00:39:00] moment. And the quote goes like this. To [00:39:04] be a Christian means to forgive the [00:39:05] inexcusable because God has forgiven the [00:39:09] inexcusable in you. [00:39:12] Thank you. [00:39:15] [Applause] [00:39:22] My name is Troy Holderby. I am the [00:39:24] president of the College Republicans at [00:39:26] Arizona State University. [00:39:27] [Applause] [00:39:36] I want to thank the university president [00:39:38] Michael Crowe, Senator Jake Hoffman, and [00:39:41] the millions and all of you who work so [00:39:43] hard to make this vigil happen. Thank [00:39:45] you. [00:39:46] [Applause] [00:39:52] >> Real quick, I'd like us to do a quick [00:39:54] experiment. If Charlie Kirk had an [00:39:55] impact on your life, can we hear you, [00:39:57] please? [00:40:11] Heat. Heat. [00:40:20] Heat. [00:40:33] [Applause] [00:40:38] Heat. [00:40:57] The truth, the truth is that Charlie [00:41:00] impacted us all if it was meeting in [00:41:03] person, hearing him fearlessly debate, [00:41:06] and participating in one of his chase [00:41:07] the vote events. [00:41:10] Charlie made a difference in this fallen [00:41:11] world. A lot of us felt many emotions [00:41:14] when he was assassinated mercilessly and [00:41:18] cruy [00:41:20] and they took his beautiful life and it [00:41:22] was beautiful. He had a beautiful [00:41:24] family, wonderful friends and on all [00:41:27] accounts was one of the kindest, most [00:41:29] generous persons you could have ever met [00:41:32] in everyday life. [00:41:36] That's why we felt these emotions. We [00:41:38] felt sadness. [00:41:40] A lot of us felt many emotions when we s [00:41:43] pardon me. That's why we felt these [00:41:46] emotions. We felt sadness. We felt [00:41:48] anger. We felt hopelessness as we [00:41:50] watched glued to our TVs or phones [00:41:53] waiting for good news that never came. [00:41:56] As we feared the worst had happened. [00:41:59] I felt rage. Jonathan spoke to you about [00:42:02] hope, about continuing on. [00:42:05] And that's something we must cling to. [00:42:07] But as Steven Miller said today, we have [00:42:09] to find an outlet for anger. And anger [00:42:12] is okay. God himself had righteous [00:42:15] anger. But we have to turn that [00:42:17] righteous anger into action. Hearing [00:42:20] Erica Kirk speak, a woman who had her [00:42:22] soulmate ripped from her, she had one [00:42:24] thing to tell us. Turn that anger into [00:42:27] action. Use that anger to make the world [00:42:29] a better place. [00:42:32] [Applause] [00:42:42] Let it fuel you. If you're mad about [00:42:45] Charlie Kirk's assassination, good. [00:42:48] Ghosts are a turning point chapter. If [00:42:50] you are mad about Charlie Kirk's [00:42:51] assassination, good. Go register voters. [00:42:54] If you are mad about Charlie Kirk's [00:42:56] assassination, good. Share the gospel of [00:42:58] our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with [00:43:00] all your friends and family. [00:43:10] [Applause] [00:43:12] As that anger leaves us though, we [00:43:14] cannot forget Charlie's death. We can [00:43:17] forgive his shooter, which is a [00:43:18] difficult thing to do. We can forgive [00:43:21] the people who celebrated his death, [00:43:23] which is equally difficult. But forever [00:43:26] more, we must work with this week in [00:43:28] mind. work because we don't have to win [00:43:30] for us, but we have to win for our [00:43:33] enemies so that together they and we can [00:43:36] live in a safe, prosperous, loving [00:43:38] America. Thank you. [00:43:50] [Applause] [00:43:58] [Applause] [00:44:04] [Applause] [00:44:47] Good evening. [00:44:48] I would like to begin by reading a [00:44:50] passage from Psalm 94. [00:44:55] The Lord is a God who avenges. Oh God [00:44:58] who avenges, shine forth. Rise up, judge [00:45:01] of the earth. Pay back to the proud what [00:45:03] they deserve. [00:45:05] How long, Lord, will the wicked? How [00:45:07] long will the wicked be jubilant? They [00:45:10] pour out arrogant words. All the [00:45:12] evildoers are full of boasting. They [00:45:15] crush your people, Lord. They oppress [00:45:17] your inheritance. They slay the widow [00:45:20] and the foreigner. They murder the [00:45:22] fatherless. They say, "The Lord does not [00:45:25] see. The God of Jacob takes no notice. [00:45:30] Take notice, you senseless ones among [00:45:32] the people. You fools, when will you [00:45:36] become wise? [00:45:38] Does he who fashion the ear not hear? [00:45:41] Does he who form the eye not see? Does [00:45:44] he who disciplines nations not punish? [00:45:47] Does he who teaches mankind lack [00:45:49] knowledge? [00:45:51] The Lord knows all human plans. He knows [00:45:54] that they are futile. Blessed is the one [00:45:57] you discipline, Lord. The one you teach [00:45:59] from the law. You grant them relief from [00:46:03] days of trouble till a pit is dug for [00:46:05] the wicked. For the Lord will not reject [00:46:07] his people. He will never forsake his [00:46:10] inheritance. Judgment will again be [00:46:12] founded on righteousness and all the [00:46:14] upright in heart will follow it. Who [00:46:17] will rise up for me against the wicked? [00:46:19] Who will stand up for me against [00:46:21] evildoers? [00:46:22] Un unless the Lord had given me help, I [00:46:25] would soon have dwelt in the silence of [00:46:27] death. When I said, "My foot is [00:46:30] slipping." Your unfailing love, Lord, [00:46:32] supported me. When anxiety was great [00:46:35] within me, your consolation brought me [00:46:37] joy. Can a corrupt throne be allied with [00:46:40] you, a throne that brings on misery by [00:46:42] its decrees? The wicked band together [00:46:45] against the righteous and condemned the [00:46:47] innocent to death. [00:46:50] But the Lord has become my fortress, and [00:46:53] my God, the rock in whom I take refuge. [00:46:56] He will repay them for their sins and [00:46:58] destroy them for their wickedness. The [00:47:00] Lord our God will destroy them. [00:47:06] [Applause] [00:47:12] My name is Sydney Gilland and I am the [00:47:15] former Turning Point USA president here [00:47:17] at a Arizona State University from [00:47:19] February 24 to May 25. [00:47:25] Thank you. [00:47:26] I've since gone on to work for Turning [00:47:28] Point Action very happily. [00:47:31] I would like to quickly say thank you to [00:47:33] each and every one of you out here this [00:47:35] evening. I know Charlie's family, [00:47:37] Charlie's friends, and even his staff [00:47:40] greatly appreciate it. [00:47:42] My first major event for Turning Point [00:47:44] was America Fest of 2023. And if you [00:47:47] don't know, Ampfest is the largest [00:47:48] annual conservative event. And if you [00:47:51] haven't bought your tickets for Amfest [00:47:52] 25, I suggest you go do so because this [00:47:55] year will be the biggest and best one [00:47:56] yet. [00:47:58] [Applause] [00:48:05] But I remember my first Amfest and [00:48:07] afterwards I said to my mother, "Mom, I [00:48:11] think I can do this for the rest of my [00:48:12] life." Ever since, I've done everything [00:48:15] to push myself out of my comfort zone. [00:48:18] Obviously, [00:48:20] changed my perspective on opposing [00:48:22] opinions, and I've made it my goal to, [00:48:24] as Charlie Kirk would say, make heaven [00:48:26] crowded. [00:48:29] [Applause] [00:48:36] Charlie Kirk has been a friend, a [00:48:38] leader, and an inspiration to me and I'm [00:48:41] sure all of you ever since the first [00:48:43] time we saw him on our silver screens, [00:48:45] on our college or high school campuses, [00:48:47] or anywhere else he may have been. So, [00:48:50] let me be clear. [00:48:52] Charlie Kirk will forever live in our [00:48:54] hearts, in our minds, but most of all, [00:48:57] in the history of our nation. It is [00:49:00] moments like these that I know that I am [00:49:02] on the right side of history. This fight [00:49:04] will not die with him. I can promise [00:49:07] you. [00:49:11] Thank you. [00:49:14] [Applause] [00:49:42] That was amazing. [00:49:44] I'm Owen Anderson. I'm a professor here [00:49:47] at ASU, a professor of philosophy, and [00:49:50] I'm so proud of ASU for making this [00:49:53] possible and for being so generous with [00:49:56] providing us with this stadium to meet [00:49:58] in. and everything we needed. I'm the [00:50:00] faculty advisor for the TPS USA student [00:50:03] club. And [00:50:12] yeah, they're great. You just saw some [00:50:14] of them. They're great. And uh as pulled [00:50:17] up. Yep. A little bit taller. [00:50:20] Is that better? [00:50:23] My philosophy classes aren't usually [00:50:25] this big. [00:50:28] I loved watching Charlie Kirk debate. [00:50:31] Wasn't he great? [00:50:34] [Applause] [00:50:39] I want to share three things with you. [00:50:42] First, as a philosopher, [00:50:45] I believe that Charlie is the American [00:50:47] Socrates. [00:50:49] He came to university campuses across [00:50:52] the nation and he would set up a tent [00:50:55] and he would debate anybody who wanted [00:50:57] to debate. Any question that they wanted [00:51:00] to ask him, he would debate. And I'm not [00:51:03] saying he was always right, but he was [00:51:05] always compelling. He would always have [00:51:06] a case. He'd always give an argument. [00:51:08] And the the students loved him. We know [00:51:11] that because he's all over social media. [00:51:14] And that means not just the students [00:51:16] that agreed with him, but the students [00:51:18] who disagreed with him couldn't wait to [00:51:19] go out and try to prove him wrong. They [00:51:22] had a lot of fun trying to do that. Now, [00:51:24] I don't know they were ever successful, [00:51:26] but he especially liked to debate with [00:51:28] students that disagree with him. And [00:51:31] like Socrates, he faced the sophists. [00:51:35] And that's because what he did was to [00:51:38] expose that much of the ideology being [00:51:42] taught in our universities is false and [00:51:45] harmful. [00:51:57] [Applause] [00:51:58] Yep. Yep. And he showed that our [00:52:01] universities were no longer places of [00:52:03] open debate. They become places where [00:52:06] one ideology is forced into classrooms [00:52:09] and it's made unquestionable. [00:52:14] [Applause] [00:52:19] But Charlie changed that, didn't he? [00:52:22] He he went to he went to campuses and he [00:52:24] questioned that ideology and he did what [00:52:26] the professors were supposed to do. the [00:52:28] professors that were supposed to teach [00:52:29] the students how to analyze arguments, [00:52:32] how to build a case with premises that [00:52:33] support a conclusion. He did that and he [00:52:37] exposed the unexamined life that was [00:52:39] going on in many classes. [00:52:45] Because of that, because of that [00:52:46] challenge, he often faced opposition and [00:52:50] opposition from universities or faculty [00:52:52] who called him names and didn't want him [00:52:54] to speak on campus. But what he wanted [00:52:56] and what he exemplified for our students [00:52:58] was that we should lead the examined [00:53:00] life. And he reminded students to [00:53:03] question and learn to think for [00:53:04] themselves. [00:53:06] He gave them a place where the common [00:53:08] ground of using reason to make arguments [00:53:11] and debate was available for everybody. [00:53:14] And that's what our university should be [00:53:15] like. We must make sure that continues, [00:53:19] that happens. And [00:53:30] [Applause] [00:53:33] our our students [00:53:35] and to the students here, always [00:53:37] question. Always ask your professors if [00:53:40] they know or if they're only giving [00:53:42] their own opinions. [00:53:44] And second, as a parent, I want to [00:53:46] provide a culture where my children are [00:53:48] safe. They're able to pursue their [00:53:50] dreams and strive after excellence. And [00:53:52] I believe Charlie Kirk was an example of [00:53:54] that. Many of them looked to him and [00:53:56] they thought if Charlie can do that, I [00:53:58] should try to do that also. He was a [00:54:00] role model and he showed them the [00:54:02] importance of being aware of cultural [00:54:04] debates, learning the issues and being [00:54:06] ready to debate them. And so it's [00:54:08] inspiring to see the young the young [00:54:11] children, middle school, high schoolers [00:54:13] signing up for TPUSA for their campus, [00:54:16] wanting to be involved. And that's [00:54:18] something that Charlie provided them [00:54:20] with an example that I hope continues. [00:54:23] And so to parents here, you need to see [00:54:26] the challenges that our universities [00:54:28] present to your children. Prepare your [00:54:30] children to make a difference in the [00:54:32] world by shining the light of truth in [00:54:34] these dark places and prepare them for [00:54:37] the kinds of false ideologies they're [00:54:39] going to encounter so they're ready to [00:54:41] refute them. And for the kids here, [00:54:45] [Applause] [00:54:53] For the kids that are here still in [00:54:54] middle school or high school, use your [00:54:56] time to learn about these issues. Look [00:55:00] at look at how Charlie modeled that for [00:55:01] you, how he modeled a debate and be [00:55:03] ready to do that when you're at [00:55:05] university. If you decide that [00:55:06] university is the path for you, I'm [00:55:08] looking forward to learning with you. [00:55:09] And then finally, as a Christian, [00:55:12] I will always remember Charlie's [00:55:15] courage. And you saw the video earlier. [00:55:17] We've all seen it. He wanted to remember [00:55:19] for the courage of his faith. I think [00:55:21] sometimes we forget that courage is [00:55:23] love. It's loving to go to universities [00:55:26] and present the truth. And we need to [00:55:28] have both courage and love as we present [00:55:30] the faith of the gospel to students who [00:55:34] need Christ more than ever. [00:55:37] [Applause] [00:55:48] So, I know we'll continue to speak with [00:55:50] courage and love against these [00:55:52] falsehoods and present the gospel [00:55:54] faithfully because true freedom is only [00:55:56] found in Christ. [00:55:58] Thank you. [00:56:07] [Applause] [00:56:13] [Applause] [00:56:32] [Applause] [00:56:48] Good afternoon. [00:56:50] My name is Anthony Watson. I'm one of [00:56:52] Charlie's contributors and I know that [00:56:57] over these past couple of days we've had [00:56:59] a lot of questions that have been [00:57:00] unanswered, a lot of emotions that [00:57:02] everyone's been dealing with. And now [00:57:05] everyone is asking the big question, [00:57:07] what's next? [00:57:09] But I'm here to tell you it's not what's [00:57:12] happening next. The question that needs [00:57:14] answering now is who's next? [00:57:18] Look at what happened when one person [00:57:21] who was willing to stand against [00:57:23] everything that opposed him for the [00:57:25] truth, the reaction that he's caused. [00:57:29] One of my favorite pastors, a pastor [00:57:31] from Romania said that even when you [00:57:32] trample on a rose, it rewards you with [00:57:34] its perfume. So does the gospel and its [00:57:38] progression when one of its saints is [00:57:39] taken from us. [00:57:48] So Erica, [00:57:50] my condolences to you. Your husband was [00:57:52] a fantastic man. Charlie, to your [00:57:55] daughter, thank you for being an example [00:57:57] to her of what a man to lead and submit [00:58:00] to looks like. To your son, thank you [00:58:03] for being an example to him and to [00:58:05] myself and to men everywhere of what a [00:58:07] man humbled by the gospel needs to lead [00:58:10] like. [00:58:18] All of us are here [00:58:21] mourning and angry and sad because of [00:58:23] the evil that we face in this world. But [00:58:26] here's the truth that we need to be [00:58:27] reminded of tonight. Evil doesn't win. [00:58:31] It doesn't. [00:58:34] And if we know that evil doesn't win, [00:58:36] we're sad for a moment, but we push on. [00:58:40] We motivate ourselves to continue [00:58:42] because that's what Charlie wants. When [00:58:44] one person falls, another person steps [00:58:46] in. When one person falls behind, [00:58:48] another person steps up. So the question [00:58:49] that I have is, who's next? Who's next? [00:58:53] Who's it going to be? [00:58:59] The reason Charlie was so filled with [00:59:02] conviction, the reason Charlie was [00:59:04] filled with passion were for three [00:59:07] words. Jesus is king. [00:59:16] And now I want to ask all of you, do you [00:59:19] guys know my king? Do you know my king? [00:59:23] Let me tell you about my king. My king [00:59:25] is the king of kings. My king is the [00:59:28] king of the ages. My king is the king of [00:59:30] heaven. My king is the lord of lords. [00:59:34] He, my king, is a sovereign king. No [00:59:36] means of measure can define his [00:59:38] limitless love. His enduringly strong. [00:59:40] He is entirely sincere. He's eternally [00:59:43] steadfast. He's immortally graceful. [00:59:46] He's imperially powerful. He's [00:59:48] impartially merciful. He's the greatest [00:59:51] phenomenon that has ever crossed the [00:59:53] horizon of the world. He's God's son. [00:59:55] He's the sinner's savior. He's the [00:59:58] centerpiece of civilization. He's [01:00:00] unparalleled. He's unprecedented. He's [01:00:03] the loftiest idea in literature. He's [01:00:05] the highest personality in philosophy. [01:00:08] He's the fundamental doctrine of true [01:00:10] theology. He's the only one qualified to [01:00:13] be the allsufficient savior. He supplies [01:00:16] strength to the weak. He's available to [01:00:19] the tempted and the tried. He [01:00:21] sympathizes and he saves. He strengthens [01:00:24] and he sustains. He guards and he [01:00:26] guides. He heals the sick. He cleans the [01:00:30] leopard. He forgives sinners. He [01:00:32] discharges debtors. He delivers the [01:00:34] captive. He defends the feeble. He [01:00:37] blesses the young. He serves the [01:00:39] unfortunate. He regards the age. He [01:00:41] rewards the diligent. He's beautiful to [01:00:44] the meek. He's the key to knowledge. [01:00:46] He's the wellspring of wisdom. He's the [01:00:49] doorway of deliverance. He's the pathway [01:00:52] of peace. He's the roadway of [01:00:54] righteousness. He's the highway of [01:00:56] holiness. He's the gateway of godliness. [01:00:59] His life is matchless. His goodness is [01:01:02] limitless. His mercy everlasting. His [01:01:05] love never changes. His words are [01:01:07] enough. His grace is sufficient. His [01:01:10] reign is eternal. His yoke is easy. And [01:01:13] his burden is light. I wish I could [01:01:16] describe him, but he's indescribable. [01:01:18] He's incomprehensible. [01:01:20] He's invincible. He's irresistible. You [01:01:23] can't get him out of your mind. He's [01:01:25] written. You're written on the palm of [01:01:26] his hand. You can't outlive him, and you [01:01:29] can't live without him. When the [01:01:31] Pharisees found him, they couldn't stand [01:01:33] him. But then they realized that they [01:01:35] couldn't stop him. F Pilate couldn't [01:01:38] find any fault in him. Herod couldn't [01:01:40] kill him. Death couldn't handle him. And [01:01:42] the grave couldn't hold him. That is the [01:01:44] God that I serve. That is the God that [01:01:46] runs our country. That is the God that [01:01:48] Charlie fight for. So Charlie, in your [01:01:51] memory, I make my declaration here [01:01:54] before you and the beautiful state of [01:01:56] Arizona to fight for the truth, to stand [01:01:59] when nobody else will, to keep pushing [01:02:01] when everyone has stopped for my [01:02:03] country, for my savior, and for this [01:02:05] beautiful place that we call the United [01:02:07] States of America. God bless you all. [01:02:44] My my [01:02:48] goodness gracious. [01:02:50] >> That's what it's all about. [01:02:52] >> And I know right now we're going through [01:02:55] some trying times. I know we're going [01:02:57] through some tumultuous times. I know [01:03:00] we're going through some dark times. But [01:03:02] at the end of the day, it's always [01:03:04] darkness before the light. [01:03:06] It's always darkness before the light. [01:03:11] These people have no idea what they've [01:03:13] awakened within us. They have no clue. [01:03:17] No clue. [01:03:20] Not just here in America, but all over [01:03:24] the world. [01:03:27] The legacy of Charlie will live on. [01:03:31] It's unbelievable. You know, I have a so [01:03:35] a set of scriptures that I like to live [01:03:36] my life by. I like to measure myself by. [01:03:39] And it's a set of scriptures that I put [01:03:41] this mirror up to Charlie to see how he [01:03:44] measured up. And he measured up just [01:03:47] fine. [01:03:48] Just fine. [01:03:51] Second Timothy 4:es 2-5. [01:03:54] And it reads, "Preach the word. Be [01:03:57] prepared in season and out of season. [01:03:59] correct, rebuke, and encourage with [01:04:03] great patience and careful instruction. [01:04:05] For the time will come when people will [01:04:08] not put up a sound doctrine. Instead, to [01:04:12] suit their own desires, they will gather [01:04:15] around them a great number of teachers [01:04:16] to say what their itching ears want to [01:04:18] hear. They will turn away from the truth [01:04:22] and turn aside to myths. But you keep [01:04:26] your head in all situations, endure [01:04:30] hardship, do the work of an evangelist, [01:04:33] discharge all the duties of your [01:04:34] ministry. [01:04:36] I take great solace [01:04:38] in these scriptures. [01:04:41] And I look at that and I look at [01:04:42] Charlie's life and I see how they [01:04:45] compare. Preach the word. Be com be uh [01:04:48] uh ready in season and out of season. [01:04:51] This is what we're supposed to do. And [01:04:52] when you look at Charlie, whenever he [01:04:54] went to these college campuses, all he [01:04:56] did, all he did was preach the gospel of [01:04:59] Jesus Christ. That's it. [01:05:02] That's it. [01:05:06] He was prepared in season and out of [01:05:08] season. He was prepared at all times. [01:05:10] And ladies and gentlemen, we have to be [01:05:12] prepared at all times, too. We have to [01:05:14] have a a an answer for our hope in Jesus [01:05:18] Christ. And we have to be prepared to [01:05:20] give that at a moment's notice. [01:05:22] This is what we must do. Preach the [01:05:25] word. Be prepared in season and out of [01:05:27] season. Correct. Rebuke and encourage. [01:05:30] Oh, Charlie did that very well. Very [01:05:32] well. He corrected the misinformation. [01:05:36] He rebuked the lies and encouraged [01:05:39] others to stand in truth, walk in truth, [01:05:41] live in truth. [01:05:44] This is what we must do. [01:05:46] And I am so I I'm I'm happy to be able [01:05:49] to see that within Charlie's life [01:05:52] correcting, rebuking, and encouraging. [01:05:55] For the time will come when people will [01:05:57] not put up a sound doctrine. Instead, to [01:06:00] suit their own desires, they will gather [01:06:02] around them a great number of teachers [01:06:04] to say what their itching ears want to [01:06:05] hear. They will turn away from the truth [01:06:08] and turn aside to myths. Ladies and [01:06:09] gentlemen, we live in a day and age [01:06:11] where people want to be affirmed in [01:06:14] their delusions of grandeur. They want [01:06:16] to be affirmed in their sin. They want [01:06:19] to be affirmed in their wickedness. They [01:06:21] want to be affirmed in their evil. We [01:06:23] can't give them that. We can't give them [01:06:26] affirmations. [01:06:27] We give them Jesus Christ. That's what [01:06:29] we give them. [01:06:32] That's what we're supposed to do. [01:06:36] We can't affirm these people's sin and [01:06:40] their sinful lifestyles and the sinful [01:06:42] ideology that is so antithetical to the [01:06:45] B IB L E the basic instructions before [01:06:48] leaving earth. We have to keep these [01:06:51] people and and bring them into the fold [01:06:53] of who Jesus wants them to be. [01:06:58] But you keep your head in all [01:07:02] situations. [01:07:04] Now, Charlie, [01:07:06] boy, oh boy. I I think whenever we'd [01:07:08] watch these videos, we would get angry [01:07:10] for Charlie. [01:07:13] Boy, the way they would malign his name, [01:07:16] slander his name. They're doing that [01:07:19] right now. See, they couldn't defeat him [01:07:21] on the free marketplace of ideas and the [01:07:24] battlefield of ideas. They couldn't beat [01:07:25] him there. So, they had to murder him. [01:07:27] And then when he's dead, now they want [01:07:30] to go ahead and slander and malign this [01:07:32] man. [01:07:34] We must take up the mantle and stand in [01:07:37] the gap for a man who stood in the gap [01:07:39] for us. [01:07:41] This is what we must do. [01:07:44] That's our job. That's our task. [01:07:47] [Applause] [01:07:52] We are Charlie Kirk. [01:08:06] This is what we got to do, ladies and [01:08:08] gentlemen. At the end of the day, we are [01:08:11] called to endure hardship. That means [01:08:14] we're going to go through it. It's not a [01:08:16] maybe sort of kind of maybe. It's endure [01:08:20] it. We must endure the hardship that's [01:08:23] going to come our way. and it's going to [01:08:26] happen. But you have to be a good [01:08:28] soldier of Jesus Christ. And when it [01:08:31] comes to Charlie, he was exactly that. [01:08:33] He died in the full armor of God. He had [01:08:37] his Ephesians 6 armor on. He died with [01:08:41] it on, baby. He died right on the [01:08:42] battlefield. [01:08:44] And the thing is about the full armor of [01:08:46] God is it's not supposed to protect your [01:08:48] body. It protects your soul. [01:08:52] And that's the thing about this full [01:08:53] armor that we got to be shaw with when [01:08:56] it comes to the the the the feet that [01:08:58] are shaw with the preparation of peace, [01:09:01] the preparation of the gospel of Jesus [01:09:03] Christ. When it comes to the breastplate [01:09:07] of righteousness that guards our heart, [01:09:10] the helmet of salvation that guards our [01:09:13] minds, the belt of truth that keeps this [01:09:17] whole ensemble together, and we go to [01:09:20] war with our shield of faith to [01:09:23] withstand all the fiery darts of the [01:09:25] enemy. And we fight back with the word [01:09:28] of God, which is the sword of the [01:09:30] spirit. And at the end of the day, I [01:09:33] hope we can all be as fortunate as [01:09:35] Charlie to die and be carried to [01:09:39] paradise on our shield. On our shield of [01:09:42] faith, carried on to paradise. That's [01:09:45] the any warrior's dream. And we must [01:09:49] aspire for the same thing. Ladies and [01:09:52] gentlemen, it's time for us to rise. [01:09:56] It's all time. It's all time. We can't [01:10:00] sit down. We can't be quiet. We can't [01:10:04] stand idly by as souls go to hell and as [01:10:08] our country goes to hell with it. We [01:10:10] must stand for our country. We must [01:10:12] stand for our countrymen. This is what [01:10:14] we must do. This is what we are called [01:10:15] to do. We're supposed to love each other [01:10:17] as ourselves. Let's embody the same [01:10:20] traits and the same attributes as [01:10:22] Charlie Kirk did. Let us stand for our [01:10:25] fallen fallen brother as he has stood [01:10:28] for us. Listen, I just want to give a [01:10:29] couple more thoughts real quick. [01:10:32] When it comes to Charlie Kirk, [01:10:35] the way we thank him is by living out [01:10:39] what he espoused and getting people to [01:10:41] realize what he espoused and how it's [01:10:43] beneficial for us as Americans and as [01:10:47] Christians. [01:10:49] Some of his quotes were, "Tell someone [01:10:51] about Jesus this week." [01:10:54] Tell someone about Jesus this week. [01:10:57] Why not? [01:11:00] Get married, have kids, stop partying [01:11:03] into oblivion. Uh-oh. [01:11:05] Uh-oh. [01:11:08] Come on now. [01:11:11] Find time to read the Bible every day. [01:11:16] Every day. [01:11:18] Every day. [01:11:19] As someone who works out, it's all about [01:11:21] the reps. It's all about the sets. So [01:11:24] you got to get the reps and sets when it [01:11:26] comes to the B IBLE E. We got to get our [01:11:29] spiritual strength up. This is what we [01:11:32] must do. Western civilization is worth [01:11:35] dying for and worth fighting for. [01:11:39] Yes, it is. And as we seen with Charlie [01:11:42] Kirk, [01:11:44] yes it is. [01:11:46] So Charlie has left us with a clear set [01:11:48] of instructions to read our Bible, to [01:11:51] evangelize the gospel, to get married [01:11:52] and have kids, and fight for America. [01:11:55] How about that for an idea? How about [01:11:57] that? [01:11:59] We need you to go out there and do that. [01:12:04] At the end of the day, that's what it's [01:12:06] all about, ladies and gentlemen. Let us [01:12:07] all stand for Charlie Kirk. Let us all [01:12:11] stand for our country. Let us all stand [01:12:13] as we know we should. Let us be the [01:12:16] bastions of beacon and beacons of hope [01:12:19] within our country. Let's set a revival [01:12:21] in this country. Let us set this country [01:12:24] on fire for Jesus Christ. That's what [01:12:26] it's all about. This is how we honor his [01:12:28] legacy. [01:12:30] God bless y'all. God bless the United [01:12:33] States of America. God bless Charlie [01:12:35] Kirk and his family. Let's go. [01:13:26] Good evening. [01:13:29] My name is Peter Gentala. I have the [01:13:31] privilege of serving as the president of [01:13:33] the Center for Arizona Policy. [01:13:36] [Applause] [01:13:43] I came here tonight because I had a [01:13:44] chance to say something about Charlie [01:13:51] and I also figured ASU I have a chance [01:13:53] to say something about you. [01:13:58] First, [01:14:00] when I think about Charlie, [01:14:02] I've got one word that comes to mind. [01:14:07] Ready. [01:14:10] Ready. Charlie Kirk was ready. [01:14:14] He was ready to talk about ideas. [01:14:18] He was ready with his smile. [01:14:21] He was ready to listen. [01:14:25] He was ready to sweat in the Phoenix [01:14:27] heat with a few thousand friends. [01:14:32] He was ready to look you in the eyes. [01:14:35] He was ready to make you laugh. [01:14:38] He was ready to hear points of view that [01:14:41] he just didn't agree with. [01:14:44] He was ready to argue his case and hear [01:14:46] other people argue their case. [01:14:50] He was ready to change minds [01:14:53] and he was ready to change his mind to [01:14:56] be persuaded by a different point of [01:14:58] view. [01:14:59] And that did happen. It's on video. I [01:15:02] saw it. [01:15:06] He was ready to stand for truth over [01:15:09] falsehood, good over evil, [01:15:12] beauty over ugliness. And he was ready [01:15:16] to affirm that we, all of us in this [01:15:19] room, can know the difference between [01:15:21] those categories. [01:15:24] He was ready to affirm that every life [01:15:26] matters. He was ready to show that [01:15:28] politics [01:15:30] is about people. It's always about [01:15:32] people. [01:15:34] He was ready to love his neighbor as [01:15:36] himself. [01:15:37] He was ready to answer the call of his [01:15:40] country. [01:15:42] He was ready to put in the work [01:15:46] to make America great again. [01:15:49] [Applause] [01:15:57] [Applause] [01:15:58] He was ready to build and lead a [01:16:01] movement, but at the same time, at the [01:16:04] same time, he was ready for family. [01:16:11] He was ready to be a dad [01:16:15] who was there for his children. [01:16:18] He was ready to be a best friend for his [01:16:20] wife. [01:16:22] He was ready to show that children are a [01:16:24] gift from the Lord. And he was ready to [01:16:26] hug his children and ready to serve his [01:16:28] wife. [01:16:31] He was ready to share his faith. [01:16:34] He was ready to tell everyone [01:16:37] about Jesus [01:16:39] several times. [01:16:42] [Applause] [01:16:48] [Applause] [01:16:51] He was ready to give his life. [01:16:54] And maybe the most important ready, he [01:16:58] was ready to meet God. [01:17:01] [Applause] [01:17:08] In short, I think Charlie [01:17:13] was here to teach us what the word ready [01:17:15] means. [01:17:17] Now, let's talk about you. [01:17:22] When I think about you, [01:17:26] I think about the word ready. [01:17:30] You too are ready. [01:17:35] Now, here's a distinction. [01:17:38] There's a difference [01:17:41] between feeling ready and being ready. [01:17:46] There's a difference between feeling [01:17:48] ready and being ready. [01:17:52] The most important things that I've ever [01:17:54] done in my life. I didn't feel ready to [01:17:56] do them. [01:17:58] I didn't feel ready to be a husband, but [01:18:01] I was. [01:18:03] I didn't feel ready to be a dad, but I [01:18:06] was. [01:18:08] The new parents in the room, you know [01:18:10] what it's like the first time you pull [01:18:11] away from the hospital? You think, are [01:18:14] they going to trust me with this baby? [01:18:19] I didn't feel ready the first time I [01:18:21] told someone about Jesus, [01:18:23] but I was. [01:18:26] So, when we talk about your readiness, [01:18:29] don't get distracted by whether you feel [01:18:31] ready. [01:18:33] There's a big difference between being [01:18:34] ready and feeling ready. [01:18:38] I think Charlie knew that. And that's [01:18:39] why he was always ready. Like Charlie, [01:18:43] you can be ready to stand for the truth. [01:18:47] Like Charlie, you can be ready to affirm [01:18:50] that every life matters. [01:18:54] [Applause] [01:19:05] Every person is precious, valuable, [01:19:08] created in the image of God, deserving [01:19:11] of being welcomed in life and protected [01:19:13] in the law. [01:19:17] Like Charlie, you can be ready to love [01:19:20] the person in front of you [01:19:24] more than the disagreement you have with [01:19:26] that person. [01:19:28] [Applause] [01:19:33] [Music] [01:19:36] I got a lot of text messages last week [01:19:39] on that horrible day, but you know, the [01:19:40] one that was the most healing for me, it [01:19:43] was from my best friend who's a [01:19:44] progressive. [01:19:46] He doesn't agree with Charlie on much of [01:19:48] anything, but he checked in on me and [01:19:50] told me he loved me. [01:19:54] Like Charlie, you're ready to put family [01:19:57] first. [01:20:00] There's a sad fact that right now over [01:20:02] half of the children in our state are [01:20:04] not being raised in a home with their [01:20:06] mom and their dad. [01:20:09] You can change that. [01:20:11] You can make sure that your children [01:20:14] beat those odds. [01:20:17] [Applause] [01:20:26] You can get married. [01:20:28] You can make sure that your children [01:20:30] have the security and hope for the [01:20:32] future grounded in your lifetime [01:20:34] commitments. You can be there together [01:20:36] for your children. [01:20:39] [Applause] [01:20:47] Like Charlie, [01:20:49] you can be ready to acknowledge [01:20:54] that you need a savior. [01:20:58] A wise friend told me yesterday that [01:21:01] maybe the reason why death and grief [01:21:03] hurt so bad is because it it wasn't [01:21:06] supposed to be this way. [01:21:08] We know that we all die, but we all also [01:21:12] know something's wrong with that. It's [01:21:14] not supposed to be that way. And the [01:21:17] Bible teaches us that it wasn't that way [01:21:19] originally and that it was sin that [01:21:22] brought death into the world. [01:21:25] You know, Jesus taught us how to pray, [01:21:28] but I'm only aware of one place where he [01:21:30] commended a particular prayer, [01:21:33] where he commended the prayer of someone [01:21:35] else. And the prayer that he loves so [01:21:39] much was seven words long, just a [01:21:42] seven-word prayer. You know what that [01:21:43] prayer was? [01:21:46] Lord, [01:21:48] be merciful to me a sinner. [01:21:53] Like Charlie, you can be ready to meet [01:21:55] God. [01:21:57] Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and [01:21:59] the life. Whoever believes in me, though [01:22:03] he die, yet shall he live. [01:22:06] And everyone who believes in me shall [01:22:09] never die." [01:22:10] Now, what is the resurrecting belief in [01:22:13] Jesus? How does it happen? When does it [01:22:17] happen? I'll give you one example from [01:22:19] the Bible. When Jesus died, he was [01:22:23] crucified in between two men who were [01:22:25] criminals. [01:22:26] The thief on either side on the cross. [01:22:30] One thief just mocked Jesus. [01:22:32] The other thief [01:22:34] looked at Jesus and said, "Lord, [01:22:38] remember me when you come into your [01:22:40] kingdom." And Jesus said to him, "Today [01:22:45] you will be with me in paradise. [01:22:49] Imagine [01:22:50] [Applause] [01:22:59] the conversation [01:23:01] that that man had [01:23:06] at the pearly gates. Why are you here? [01:23:09] You go to church? [01:23:15] Have you told anybody about Jesus? Do [01:23:18] you read your Bible? [01:23:20] Did you pray every day? [01:23:25] He said the only thing that he could [01:23:27] have said. [01:23:29] I'm here because the man on the middle [01:23:33] cross said I could come. [01:23:37] [Applause] [01:23:45] Let me close by just saying I feel like [01:23:47] we've been watching an incredible [01:23:49] athletic contest when we think about [01:23:50] Charlie's life. [01:23:52] A wonderful athlete, so superb in [01:23:55] everything he did, so dominant that we [01:23:57] all just wanted to watch him no matter [01:23:58] what. And then we were shocked last week [01:24:03] when he finished his race. [01:24:09] When a great man dies, it's not just [01:24:14] public, it's personal. And I felt like [01:24:18] when Charlie died, it was as if as if he [01:24:21] came to me and said, "My race is over. [01:24:23] Here's the baton. Will you run your [01:24:26] race?" [01:24:28] I hope you felt that way, too. [01:24:31] [Applause] [01:24:37] [Applause] [01:25:10] I have to say [01:25:12] my heart [01:25:14] is broken, [01:25:19] but it's so full to see that Charlie [01:25:22] affect affected so many lives o across [01:25:26] the world. [01:25:28] Thousands in his own backyard in [01:25:30] Arizona, millions in the country he [01:25:33] loves so much, and hundreds of millions [01:25:36] across the globe in countries that he's [01:25:38] never once visited. [01:25:40] [Applause] [01:25:50] Throughout history, there have always [01:25:52] been leaders who carried a torch so [01:25:54] bright, it lit the path for the [01:25:56] generation around them. Charlie was one [01:25:58] of these leaders. His vision, his [01:26:02] courage, his love for his country, it [01:26:05] was a light in a very dark world. [01:26:09] And when you were near him, you could [01:26:11] not help but feel it. That light gave [01:26:14] people hope. It gave people direction. [01:26:18] And for so many of us, it gave us [01:26:21] purpose. [01:26:22] Now that Charlie is gone, the weight [01:26:25] feels heavier and the path feels harder. [01:26:29] You may feel more alone than ever. But [01:26:32] the truth is, he didn't carry that torch [01:26:35] just for himself. [01:26:37] He carried it so he could hand it off to [01:26:39] us. And now it is our turn. [01:26:44] [Applause] [01:26:53] The flame he lit in each of us has to [01:26:56] burn brighter than ever before starting [01:26:58] today. For those of you who may not know [01:27:01] me, my name is Chris and I have the [01:27:04] pleasure and honor of overseeing our [01:27:06] college chapters, students, and [01:27:08] operations as the college enterprise [01:27:11] director here at Turning Point USA. [01:27:21] But before I ever carried that title, I [01:27:24] was just a student with Turning Point [01:27:26] who believed in this organization, who [01:27:28] believed in this movement, who believed [01:27:29] in Charlie. [01:27:37] Like so many others, I found my way into [01:27:39] this organization because of Charlie's [01:27:41] vision. He had this incredible way of [01:27:44] making people believe not just in [01:27:46] America but in this movement. Looking [01:27:49] back on paper, it made no sense for a [01:27:52] handful of 20somes to lead the fight to [01:27:55] save the nation and come damn near close [01:27:57] to doing so. [01:28:07] Starting as a college kid simply trying [01:28:09] to make a difference on my own campus, I [01:28:11] never could have imagined that years [01:28:13] later I would be standing here entrusted [01:28:15] with leading the very students that [01:28:18] Charlie cared about most. [01:28:21] One of the things that made Charlie so [01:28:22] unique was his ability to see potential [01:28:25] in people long before they saw it in [01:28:27] themselves. I know that was true for me [01:28:30] as a young college student. I wasn't [01:28:32] sure how much of a difference one person [01:28:33] could really make. But Charlie never [01:28:36] looked at people for who they were in [01:28:37] that moment. He looked at them for who [01:28:39] they would become. He saw leaders where [01:28:42] others saw followers. [01:28:44] He saw courage where others saw [01:28:46] inexperience. [01:28:48] That's why he poured so much of himself [01:28:50] into the next generation. He believed [01:28:52] that the future of this country wouldn't [01:28:54] be decided by politicians in Washington. [01:28:56] He believed it would be decided by [01:28:58] students on their campuses. He believed [01:29:00] in us. and he was willing to fight for [01:29:03] us even when the world made it so costly [01:29:05] for him to do so. [01:29:14] Charlie stepped into the fire as an [01:29:15] 18-year-old. For his entire adult life, [01:29:18] he lived under the weight of critics. By [01:29:20] his early 20s, he faced more push back [01:29:22] than most people will ever experience in [01:29:24] their entire lives. [01:29:26] But what set him apart was that he never [01:29:29] allowed the attacks, the pressure, or [01:29:31] the hate harden his heart. Instead, he [01:29:35] rose above the hate, turned the other [01:29:37] cheek, and handed those who so [01:29:38] vehemently hated him the microphone. [01:29:49] He stayed focused. He stayed steadfast. [01:29:51] And above all, he remained faithful to [01:29:53] the mission God entrusted to him. Even [01:29:55] as the opposition grew louder and the [01:29:57] road grew harder, Charlie never lost [01:29:59] sight of the divine calling he was meant [01:30:01] to fulfill. And that, I believe, is the [01:30:04] challenge for us now. We can mourn and [01:30:07] we should. We can grieve and we must. [01:30:12] But if we stop there, we dishonor [01:30:14] everything Charlie gave his life to [01:30:16] build. The best way to remember Charlie [01:30:18] Kirk is not just in words, but in [01:30:20] action. to take up the mantle he carried [01:30:22] and pressed forward with even greater [01:30:25] urgency. [01:30:35] [Applause] [01:30:52] The truth is, America still needs voices [01:30:54] of change, voices of courage. Our [01:30:57] students still need protection. The next [01:30:59] generation still needs leaders willing [01:31:01] to stand in the fire and not flinch. [01:31:04] That was Charlie's calling, and now it [01:31:06] has to be ours. So tonight, as we [01:31:09] remember a husband, a father, a leader, [01:31:12] and a friend, may we also make a [01:31:14] commitment. A commitment that we will [01:31:16] not let the flame Charlie carried go [01:31:18] dim. That we will not let the work he [01:31:20] started be left unfinished. That we will [01:31:23] be bold enough to step into the gap and [01:31:24] carry the torch forward. Charlie, [01:31:28] we love you. We honor you. And we [01:31:31] promise your fight did not end here. We [01:31:33] will carry it from here. And we will [01:31:34] make you proud. As Charlie would often [01:31:37] say, onward [01:31:39] [Applause] [01:32:28] [Applause] [01:32:47] Love you too. [01:32:49] >> Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jack [01:32:51] Pobic. [01:32:53] [Applause] [01:33:01] And Charlie Kirk was my friend. [01:33:04] And Charlie Kirk will always be my [01:33:07] friend because Charlie Kirk is never [01:33:11] going anywhere because Charlie Kirk is [01:33:14] all of our friends and Charlie Kirk will [01:33:17] not have died in vain as long as I am [01:33:21] alive. [01:33:32] As long as there is blood in my veins [01:33:34] and air in my lungs, I will make sure [01:33:39] that the radical left, the media, and [01:33:42] the Democrats never forget the name of [01:33:46] Charlie Kirk. [01:34:13] We are here not because we want to be [01:34:16] here, not because we choose to be here. [01:34:21] This wasn't some accident. But you [01:34:23] listen to the media and they treat it [01:34:25] like it was just a car crash, a tragic [01:34:30] train derailment, a plane crash. No. No. [01:34:35] And don't you ever let them trick you [01:34:39] with their words, their wicked twisting [01:34:41] of words. No. Charlie Kirk was murdered. [01:34:45] Charlie Kirk was assassinated in cold [01:34:49] blood. He was shot down an innocent man [01:34:52] for the only crime that he ever [01:34:55] committed was speaking the truth. [01:35:09] And I commit to you that I will never [01:35:12] let them forget what they did to Charlie [01:35:16] Kirk. [01:35:27] It It's only been a few days. [01:35:30] This is the This is the first time I've [01:35:32] ever spoken publicly since Charlie was [01:35:36] assassinated. [01:35:38] I've got his shirt on and I I I see [01:35:41] there's so many people here who have it [01:35:43] on and and there's people that that made [01:35:46] their own. They they did handmade shirts [01:35:48] for Charlie. They wrote freedom in a [01:35:51] Sharpie pen. [01:35:54] And I see the vigils that are going on. [01:35:56] Not just this one here at ASU [01:36:00] where Turning Point was born. Not just [01:36:03] the one out front of Turning Point [01:36:06] headquarters that has been going day and [01:36:09] night 247, [01:36:13] but in every town, in every city, in [01:36:17] every state, in every country all across [01:36:21] the world. [01:36:32] God will not let this world forget the [01:36:36] name of Charlie Kirk. [01:36:46] Charlie Charlieie [01:36:52] Charlieie [01:37:00] Charlie. [01:37:12] And you know when when terrible things [01:37:15] happen in this world, there are times [01:37:18] when [01:37:20] we ask why [01:37:22] and we say, "God, we're we're believers. [01:37:26] We know that Christ is our king." [01:37:30] But sometimes the Lord challenges us, [01:37:32] doesn't he? And we ask, "Why? [01:37:36] Why did this happen?" Well, I'll tell [01:37:38] you one thing. I think in this instance, [01:37:43] maybe, just maybe, we already have our [01:37:46] answer because we can see that God has [01:37:49] raised Charlie Kirk up to be a message, [01:37:53] to be a vision, to be a testament to [01:37:55] this entire world, for Christ Jesus, [01:38:01] because Christ is king. And through [01:38:04] Charlie, God is spreading the message of [01:38:07] the gospel and Christ's sacrifice. and [01:38:10] his anointed blood, his sacred blood is [01:38:14] now being spread to the four corners of [01:38:16] the globe. [01:38:24] And I do see that [01:38:27] and I do trust the Lord. But I [01:38:31] I still think of Erica [01:38:34] and I think of Charlie's children. [01:38:37] And I know [01:38:39] that if some bullet came [01:38:43] and cut me down [01:38:45] that Charlie would be there for my [01:38:48] children to be an uncle to them. [01:38:52] So I will always be there for Charlie's [01:38:54] children as an uncle to them. [01:38:58] to tell them who their father was, to [01:39:01] tell them what he stood for, to tell [01:39:04] them who Charlie the man was. [01:39:07] Charlie was not a boy. [01:39:10] Charlie started this movement. He was a [01:39:12] boy when he first started. He was a boy, [01:39:16] but he went out a man. He went out with [01:39:18] his boots on. He went out as a lion. [01:39:23] with the courage of a lion, with more [01:39:26] courage than all of us. [01:39:29] Because after Butler last year, we we [01:39:33] told Charlie, [01:39:36] I told Charlie, I said, "Charlie, are [01:39:39] you sure you still want to keep doing [01:39:40] these? Do you want to keep going knowing [01:39:43] what the threat is, the violence? They [01:39:46] almost took out Trump. Are you sure you [01:39:49] still want to do this?" [01:39:52] And he looked at me and I could see the [01:39:55] conviction in his eyes and I could hear [01:39:57] it in his voice. And he said, "Jack, [01:40:02] I will never stop. I will never quit. I [01:40:07] will not let anything stand in my way." [01:40:14] And and this is something that you know [01:40:17] I think [01:40:19] I think that you know when you when you [01:40:20] hear the media, believe it or not, the [01:40:22] media get things wrong sometimes. I [01:40:24] crazy, right? [01:40:26] But what what they get wrong about [01:40:28] Charlie, they get everything wrong about [01:40:29] Charlie. But what one thing that they [01:40:31] get wrong that I really need to correct [01:40:32] the record on, [01:40:34] Charlie wasn't doing this for himself. [01:40:38] Charlie was doing it for all of us. [01:40:41] Charlie was doing it for all of the [01:40:43] people, for all of the children, for all [01:40:46] of the children yet to come, for the [01:40:49] lies that have been told in this [01:40:51] country, the lies that have been told [01:40:53] around the world, Charlie Kirk dedicated [01:40:56] his life to telling the truth. And [01:40:59] because he told the truth in such a way, [01:41:02] with such a gift that was given to him [01:41:05] by Father God, they cut him down with an [01:41:09] assassin's bullet. [01:41:12] And so here's my message to the left. [01:41:15] Here's my message to the radicals, [01:41:18] to the liars, to the smear artists, the [01:41:22] merchants who smeared the name the good [01:41:25] name of my friend Accountability [01:41:32] is coming. It is coming for each and [01:41:35] every one of you [01:41:39] because we will not stop. We will not [01:41:43] rest. We will not sleep until we have [01:41:46] justice for Charlie Kirk. [01:42:06] God bless to every single one of you. [01:42:09] God bless America. And as always, when [01:42:13] you go out there, I want you to remember [01:42:15] two words. It ain't a lot. It's just two [01:42:19] words. [01:42:20] have this tattooed and written on your [01:42:23] heart. When we go out there, when we [01:42:26] fight, when we step up to the plate, [01:42:29] when we put up a folding table in a park [01:42:32] or on campus, when we set up a chair and [01:42:35] pick up a microphone, when we go out [01:42:38] there, when we give it all, we're doing [01:42:40] it for Charlie. [01:43:24] Hello everyone. [01:43:26] [Music] [01:43:27] My name is Tyler Ber. I'm the CEO of [01:43:30] Turning Point Action. [01:43:33] [Applause] [01:43:40] Thank you. [01:43:42] We love Charlie. [01:43:44] [Music] [01:43:45] I want to start today by telling the [01:43:47] joke that I heard Charlie Kirk tell [01:43:49] about one million times before he spoke [01:43:50] before an audience. [01:43:53] Does anybody here know it? You think you [01:43:55] know it? So, pretend I'm Charlie for a [01:43:58] second. I'm Charlie Kirk and I'm from [01:44:00] Illinois. We believe in term limits. One [01:44:04] term in office, one term in jail. [01:44:10] The second joke he always told when he [01:44:12] before he got before an audience was, [01:44:14] "Wow, there's more people in here than [01:44:15] we had at our first event." And there's [01:44:17] definitely more people in here than we [01:44:19] had at our first event. [01:44:22] There [01:44:26] there's more people in here than at ASU [01:44:28] basketball games. Let's be honest. So, [01:44:33] and I'm a Sunundevil. All right. [01:44:36] We got to work on the basketball. [01:44:39] All right. I want to just tell you real [01:44:41] quick uh a story about meeting Charlie. [01:44:44] Uh I want to tell you about how I met [01:44:46] Charlie Kirk, how we ended up here in [01:44:48] Arizona together. [01:44:51] I met Charlie Kirk in uh 2014. [01:44:56] We uh we worked he he talked me into [01:45:00] taking a subminimum wage job. [01:45:04] My wife's in here somewhere. She she [01:45:06] wasn't really excited about that at the [01:45:09] time, but uh had two kids, really young [01:45:13] kids, uh taking a subminimum wage job. [01:45:16] He put me on a flight, a Spear Airlines [01:45:19] flight. [01:45:22] I know that that that's where the deal [01:45:24] breaker usually was, but I went to ASU, [01:45:27] so I was okay with the culture. [01:45:32] And I showed up and it was -10° [01:45:36] in in Chicago [01:45:40] at a at a Holiday in Express. [01:45:44] So you kind of layer all these things [01:45:45] together. You start to see this [01:45:47] beautiful picture of Turning Point USA [01:45:50] in the early days. [01:45:52] Uh, but I walked into that t that [01:45:54] Holiday Express and I spent what would [01:45:59] become three days with Charlie Kirk and [01:46:02] I spent just a couple hours oneonone [01:46:04] with Charlie Kirk. And this is before [01:46:07] anyone knew who Charlie Kirk was. [01:46:10] And I was surrounded by actual [01:46:12] conservatives, [01:46:15] activists, [01:46:16] much like this room. [01:46:19] surrounded by conservative activists [01:46:21] that actually cared about the movement [01:46:22] and wanted to do this. [01:46:24] And I looked at Charlie and I spent [01:46:27] those few hours that I had with Charlie [01:46:29] in that first first encounter ever. [01:46:32] Negative10 degrees outside Chicago, [01:46:35] didn't know what the heck I was doing. [01:46:37] And I walked away from that and going, I [01:46:40] can hitch my wagon to this guy. [01:46:43] I can hitch my wagon to Charlie Kirk. [01:46:48] He was He was my best friend. [01:46:51] We went everywhere together. We had [01:46:53] absolutely no money. [01:46:57] Absolutely none. Charlie didn't pay [01:46:58] himself. Like I said, I had a subminimum [01:47:00] wage job. Charlie didn't pay himself for [01:47:03] the first, I don't know, five or six [01:47:04] years of Turning Point. On campus, it [01:47:07] was almost impossible to get people to [01:47:09] stop. [01:47:11] Here at ASU, kids would walk up [01:47:13] screaming at us, calling us fascist. [01:47:16] That's not a new thing. They've been [01:47:18] doing that for now 15, 20 years. [01:47:22] But on campus, it was right in the [01:47:23] middle of Bernie Sanders running for [01:47:25] office. Remember that? When he was [01:47:26] running for president. [01:47:29] So I set up this sign. So this sign [01:47:32] right here was actually my sign. [01:47:42] It's in a frame now because it's so [01:47:44] historic now. that's in the office. [01:47:47] But we'd set it up very similar to this [01:47:50] right on campus and Charlie would be [01:47:53] there and we would be there and we would [01:47:55] be trying to convince people just to [01:47:57] stop for a second and talk about what [01:48:01] was important. [01:48:03] But right next to us was the Bernie [01:48:05] Sanders table. [01:48:08] So this was the Charlie Kirk magic was [01:48:11] we had normallooking kids who took [01:48:14] showers [01:48:18] and then you know the other side. [01:48:23] Yeah. We these signs got us in trouble a [01:48:25] lot actually here at ASU. One time [01:48:28] Sparky took a picture with our big gov [01:48:30] sucks our sunundevils think big [01:48:32] government sucks sign and it went viral [01:48:35] on Twitter and Dr. Crow was calling us [01:48:37] asking us to take it down [01:48:40] and we said no. [01:48:51] >> Not far from here, just a few hundred [01:48:53] yards from where we're at right now, we [01:48:54] hosted the first ever Turning Point USA [01:48:57] rally event, speaking event that Charlie [01:49:00] ever participated in. It was Charlie [01:49:02] Kirk and Rand Paul and we held in the [01:49:05] gym right right nearby. I organized it. [01:49:08] It was an incredible event. It was the [01:49:10] best event some people say. [01:49:16] But that's when Charlie figured out he [01:49:19] could really do really well at this [01:49:20] whole speaking thing. [01:49:25] I made a huge mistake that day, though. [01:49:27] We had a backdrop behind us. You've [01:49:29] probably seen them on all our stuff. [01:49:31] Oftentimes we'll have a backdrop. ASU [01:49:33] wouldn't allow one here today because [01:49:35] it's a rotunda, but we usually had a [01:49:38] backdrop. We had an early backdrop and [01:49:40] we only had one and it was at this event [01:49:43] and we were so excited and it was so fun [01:49:45] and it we had, you know, hundreds of [01:49:47] people that showed up, almost a thousand [01:49:48] people who showed up to this rally for [01:49:50] this big thing. And we left, we forgot [01:49:52] to pack up the the sign, the the [01:49:55] backdrop. And what ended up happening [01:49:58] was very quickly the the staff threw it [01:50:01] in the trash compactor and when I came [01:50:03] back it was already compacted. [01:50:06] I felt really bad cuz they I I told you [01:50:10] Turning Point didn't have any money. So [01:50:12] we had spent, you know, quite a few [01:50:14] hundred, maybe $1,000 on that backdrop. [01:50:16] And I went to Charlie and I said, [01:50:18] "Charlie, I got some really bad news for [01:50:20] you. That event went really well, but [01:50:23] we're going to have to buy a new [01:50:24] backdrop." [01:50:25] And I'll tell you, my friend, our friend [01:50:29] Charlie, was the most forgiving person [01:50:32] that you'd ever meet. [01:50:35] He didn't care about that. What he cared [01:50:37] about was what we were just able to [01:50:39] accomplish. [01:50:40] He didn't care about the mistakes that [01:50:43] people made, the flaws that they had. [01:50:44] And trust me, a bunch of us kids, 20some [01:50:48] year old kids, running a massive [01:50:50] organization and turning into what [01:50:52] Turning Point USA is today [01:50:54] have a lot of flaws. [01:50:58] But we did huge things along the way. [01:51:01] We traveled around with Donald Trump Jr. [01:51:09] and ultimately held the rallies that [01:51:12] would get President Trump elected in [01:51:14] 2016. [01:51:22] >> I was privy to hang out and have long [01:51:24] wonderful religious conversations with [01:51:26] Charlie Kirk and Dennis Prager. [01:51:32] Nothing will make you feel more stupid [01:51:34] than sitting in a room with Charlie Kirk [01:51:36] and Dennis Prager on religion. [01:51:41] We would fly to see important people, [01:51:44] billionaires, sit down with them trying [01:51:45] to explain what big government sucks [01:51:48] mean. [01:51:51] We built big conferences, huge [01:51:53] conferences, [01:51:54] the biggest in the movement, big events [01:51:57] that ultimately will culminate into the [01:52:00] big student events that we see on [01:52:02] campus. [01:52:05] And we won Arizona in 2024. [01:52:13] And we will again [01:52:18] and again. [01:52:20] I'm going to tell you right now, there's [01:52:22] no person that Charlie Kirk loved more [01:52:24] than our vice president, JD Vance. [01:52:31] So, I can promise you, and I know every [01:52:34] single person in this room agrees with [01:52:35] me, we are going to win in 2028, aren't [01:52:38] we, folks? [01:52:48] 2026 is going to be the Charlie Kirk [01:52:50] election. [01:52:52] [Applause] [01:52:56] 2028 will be the Kirk Vance election. [01:53:03] But I want to tell you all my favorite [01:53:05] memories of all are just being with [01:53:08] Charlie one-on-one [01:53:10] solving the life life's problems, big [01:53:13] problems, just one-on-one just talking [01:53:17] to late in the hours. We often would [01:53:19] talk about how we worked on a 24-hour [01:53:21] schedule. Charlie was oftentimes [01:53:23] traveling all across the country and I [01:53:25] was West Coast. So when he would when he [01:53:28] would go to sleep, I would stay up. I [01:53:31] would be up long and by the time he [01:53:32] would wake up is when I would go to [01:53:34] sleep and we were never off the clock. [01:53:37] We worried about specific people. Many [01:53:40] people who are on this room today, many [01:53:43] staff members who helped build Turning [01:53:45] Point into what it is today. [01:53:48] He worried and loved about people [01:53:51] individually. He thought about people [01:53:53] individually. [01:53:55] And with a person with as magnanimous of [01:53:57] a spirit as he has and as big and and [01:54:00] lionhearted as he is, he cared about the [01:54:03] little guy. He cared about the the the [01:54:06] person that just started at turning [01:54:08] point. He cared about the person who was [01:54:10] in the corner of a rally or a room and [01:54:13] would approach them. I saw him do that [01:54:15] many times. I missed talking about [01:54:17] sports with my best friend, about how [01:54:20] terrible ASU was against Oregon in the [01:54:22] Pack 12. [01:54:28] But I'll tell you, the biggest thing [01:54:30] that I loved watching was watching him [01:54:32] become a a husband and a father. [01:54:36] [Applause] [01:54:42] We love Erica Kirk, don't we? [01:54:50] I love Erica. I'll tell you why I love [01:54:52] Erica. Erica I met [01:54:56] by throwing the first ever Trump rally. [01:54:59] She sat right behind the president in [01:55:01] the ve what turned out to be the very [01:55:03] first Trump rally. And it wasn't long [01:55:05] before that that she Charlie got her [01:55:08] number and never let it go. [01:55:12] But I want to tell you I want to tell [01:55:14] you everyone here what we're up against [01:55:17] is one of the most difficult times in [01:55:20] human history in American history. [01:55:23] This is the moment each of us has to [01:55:27] decide whether or not we're going to [01:55:29] fight or we're going to sit back and [01:55:31] slink back and allow these things to [01:55:34] take over our lives. [01:55:47] And and folks, I I mean, I'm gonna tell [01:55:49] you right now, if this crazy leftist [01:55:52] radicalization is happening in Utah, [01:55:54] it's happening everywhere. [01:55:57] It is absolutely everywhere. And this [01:56:00] isn't a both sides problem. This is very [01:56:03] clearly a one-sided problem. [01:56:06] [Applause] [01:56:14] So, we have a job to do. And this is the [01:56:17] promise that I'm going to make to you as [01:56:20] the leader of Turning Point Action. [01:56:24] Charlie showed us the way. He wanted you [01:56:27] to go to church. [01:56:32] Go to church. [01:56:34] It's that simple. You don't have to be [01:56:36] good at it. You just have to go. [01:56:42] Support or join a Turning Point USA [01:56:44] chapter at high school and college [01:56:46] levels. [01:56:47] [Applause] [01:56:54] Register to vote. [01:57:00] There are people in here right now not [01:57:02] registered to vote. [01:57:04] >> You know how we know that? Because you [01:57:07] all signed up for this. [01:57:13] There are lots of people in here not [01:57:15] registered to vote. You have to register [01:57:17] to vote. You have to participate. [01:57:25] Charlie Kirk did not die for you to sit [01:57:27] at home on election day. [01:57:32] Come work for us. Chase votes. [01:57:42] Get with us. Volunteer. Spend your time. [01:57:44] Help. Talk to your neighbors. Get out of [01:57:47] the house. Touch grass. Talk to your [01:57:50] people. [01:57:51] The best part about going to church is [01:57:54] that you're going to talk to someone. [01:57:58] When you talk to people, like Charlie [01:58:00] told us, you're helping save their life. [01:58:04] You're helping change their life. When [01:58:06] we stop talking, that's when problems [01:58:08] happen. And last and not but not least, [01:58:11] and certainly not least, for every young [01:58:14] person that's in this room in [01:58:15] particular, [01:58:17] focus on building a family. [01:58:30] At Turning Point, we will help you do [01:58:32] all of those things. We are going to [01:58:34] dedicate the rest of our lives to [01:58:37] helping you do all of those things. We [01:58:40] are going to do this for Charlie. [01:58:44] For Charlie. [01:58:47] I hope you'll join us. [01:58:53] I hope every single person here will go [01:58:56] through those action steps. Join us this [01:58:59] Sunday. Be there in person. See it. It's [01:59:02] going to be a life-changing event. It's [01:59:04] going to be a turning point for your [01:59:07] life. [01:59:19] We we I tell people this. I'll finish on [01:59:22] this. I've been telling people this all [01:59:24] week. I would trade in everything. [01:59:27] Everything that we spent all those years [01:59:30] building a turning point just to have [01:59:31] Charlie back. We would tra we would [01:59:34] trade in every single blessing that [01:59:37] we've seen over the last week that's [01:59:40] occurred. [01:59:42] But you know what? Charlie Kirk wouldn't [01:59:43] do that. Charlie Kirk is looking down at [01:59:46] us right now and he's really excited [01:59:49] about all of the action that's happening [01:59:51] right now. Really excited. And you know [01:59:54] how I know that? [01:59:56] Because I know Charlie Kirk. You know [01:59:59] Charlie Kirk. Who Charlie Kirk was that [02:00:02] you listen to every single day is who [02:00:03] Charlie Kirk was in private. And he is [02:00:06] so excited. The only thing is is he [02:00:08] wishes he was here to tell us exactly [02:00:10] what to do. He liked doing that. [02:00:15] But [02:00:23] >> but I'll tell you this, we need [02:00:25] everybody to step up. We need everybody [02:00:27] to chip in. We need every single person [02:00:29] that's here to commit to win, to commit [02:00:33] to do good, to commit to go back to [02:00:35] church, to commit to register to vote, [02:00:37] to commit to chase ballots, to commit to [02:00:40] be part of something. That's what [02:00:42] Charlie Kirk will want. God bless every [02:00:44] single person that took time out of [02:00:46] their day to be here. God bless every [02:00:48] single one of you. God bless Arizona. [02:00:51] God bless Turning Point USA. God bless [02:00:54] Erica Kirk. [02:00:58] God bless our president and vice [02:01:00] president. And God bless America. We'll [02:01:02] see you. [02:01:32] too tall for me, [02:01:37] you You know, Charlie was found on video [02:01:39] saying, [02:01:41] "I generally don't trust short people." [02:01:47] And of course, everyone at Turning Point [02:01:50] sent it to me [02:01:53] as a proud 5'6. [02:02:00] I told Charlie I sent that right over to [02:02:02] him and I said, "What is this?" [02:02:09] And he said in response, I said, [02:02:12] "Generally, [02:02:16] that's Charlie Kirk. [02:02:20] He doesn't trust short people, but he [02:02:22] trusted me." [02:02:27] And you know, as someone that is a [02:02:29] proud, let's be real, 5 foot five and a [02:02:31] half, [02:02:34] I trusted that giant. [02:02:38] Every time I took a picture next to him, [02:02:39] I was reminded he is a giant, [02:02:44] but I loved him. [02:02:48] My speech isn't one of hype. My speech [02:02:52] isn't one of anger. [02:02:55] My speech isn't one [02:02:59] to sorrow, [02:03:01] but is it a speech [02:03:05] to recognize the man that he was? [02:03:09] We are here because he impacted each of [02:03:12] us in a very individual way. [02:03:15] You don't come to a vigil [02:03:18] to sit two hours in hard bleachers in a [02:03:21] stadium in an arena where this [02:03:23] basketball team has sucked perennially. [02:03:26] If you didn't love the man [02:03:29] [Applause] [02:03:40] who is Charlie Kirk, [02:03:43] I'll tell you who he was to me. [02:03:46] hero. [02:03:49] >> He was my hero. [02:03:53] >> He was my boss. [02:03:56] He was my consoler. [02:03:59] He was my motivator. [02:04:01] He was my rebuer. [02:04:06] He was my best friend. [02:04:11] I want you to know a side of Charlie [02:04:13] that you don't get to see on the screen. [02:04:16] Many of you don't didn't get the [02:04:18] privilege to know such a man. A man of [02:04:22] God is rare in these days. There's a lot [02:04:26] that preach, but few that live. [02:04:29] That man lived the word of God. [02:04:32] [Applause] [02:04:40] He hired me back in 2016. As Tyler [02:04:43] mentioned, we were nobodies back then. I [02:04:47] was a nobody. Charlie was a nobody. In [02:04:50] fact, if you'd looked at Charlie, you [02:04:51] would think he's a nobody. He was a [02:04:54] giant 6 foot five wearing dad jeans and [02:04:57] a shirt from Goodwill. That was the man [02:05:00] that I met. [02:05:03] But something about him [02:05:05] said, "You need to work for this man. [02:05:08] He's gonna change this world." [02:05:12] >> And he did. And you know what? The first [02:05:16] time I walked in, I was hired in 2016. [02:05:19] And just like Tyler, I walked into the [02:05:21] basement of Chicago O'Hare Airport. [02:05:24] That's where our training was in the [02:05:26] basement. [02:05:27] Imagine that. In the dungeon of that [02:05:29] dungey old airport. [02:05:32] And as I walked in to the training room, [02:05:36] I walked pa a cafe. [02:05:40] And there in that cafe [02:05:42] was the man that hired me [02:05:45] with his Bible [02:05:47] opened up and a highlighter in hand [02:05:50] reading the word of God. [02:05:54] That was the man [02:05:56] back in 2016 that said he was going to [02:05:59] change the country. [02:06:02] [Applause] [02:06:08] That very man who could barely afford a [02:06:11] shirt for his back [02:06:14] loved the Chicago Cubs. [02:06:18] I can't say I love them myself, but [02:06:21] that man took 30 [02:06:25] random [02:06:28] nobodies from around the country that [02:06:29] just started to work for him and he [02:06:31] wanted them to partake and experience [02:06:32] something that he loved. The [02:06:34] organization had no money to its name, [02:06:37] not a dollar to its name. But that man [02:06:39] spent his own money to take 30 random [02:06:44] employees that were in a startup [02:06:45] together to go experience something he [02:06:48] loved. [02:06:50] Charlie had the heart [02:06:53] of a giant. [02:06:56] In 2017, [02:07:00] we were trying to get started. We're [02:07:01] trying to make a movement happen. It was [02:07:04] an uphill climb. [02:07:06] The odds were against us. We got yelled [02:07:08] at, flipped off, called every name in [02:07:11] the book. [02:07:13] No momentum in our favor. Everyone wrote [02:07:16] us off. No one was donating. [02:07:19] But Charlie said, "You know what? [02:07:22] Here at ASU [02:07:24] said, "Hey, the" and I I I pitched him. [02:07:27] I said, "Hey, Charlie, the College [02:07:29] Democrats president wants to debate you. [02:07:34] Some little 18-year-old punk wants to [02:07:35] debate you." He's 23 at the time, 24. Do [02:07:39] you want to debate this 20, this [02:07:40] 18-year-old? [02:07:42] Said, "Yeah, let's give it a shot." [02:07:45] Here at ASU birthed the very first [02:07:48] college debate by Charlie Kirk and he [02:07:51] crushed it and the Sunundevils turned [02:07:54] out and the news turned out and he [02:07:57] walked out of there saying, "You know [02:07:58] what? There is something to this. [02:08:01] There's something to this. We need to be [02:08:03] on college campuses, not just [02:08:05] mobilizing, setting up tables, not just [02:08:07] recruiting, not just doing events, but [02:08:09] we need to take the fight to them. We [02:08:11] need to argue that our ideas win when [02:08:15] spoken. [02:08:19] That same year in 2017, he had another [02:08:22] phenomenon that later became so core and [02:08:27] so fundamental to who he is. [02:08:30] at GCU, our neighboring campus. He said, [02:08:34] "You know what? [02:08:37] Christianity [02:08:38] truly is [02:08:41] rooted in the scriptures. [02:08:44] Christianity [02:08:46] is not just rooted in the scriptures, [02:08:47] but it is the foundation to capitalism." [02:08:53] And he said, "You know what? I want to [02:08:54] share the gospel, [02:08:57] more of the gospel with college [02:08:59] students." Do you think they're [02:09:02] to be honest? I didn't think so at the [02:09:04] time [02:09:08] at that time [02:09:12] non goderations [02:09:14] ever. [02:09:16] But you know what? He did not cower and [02:09:22] one of the largest rooms in at GCU [02:09:25] speaking the word of God making a [02:09:26] Christian case for capitalism. [02:09:29] [Applause] [02:09:32] 2017 was the birth of modernday Charlie. [02:09:36] 2017 is when he realized we must debate [02:09:39] and show that our ideas win. We must [02:09:41] share the gospel unashamed, unafraid. [02:09:44] Not just at Christian campuses, but [02:09:46] everywhere in the world. Whether it's [02:09:48] Oxford [02:09:50] or in America [02:09:52] or in North Korea or South Korea and [02:09:54] Tokyo, Japan, [02:09:57] the word matters. [02:10:00] Then in 2018, some one of the best [02:10:03] things happened for Charlie. [02:10:05] Candace Owens came onto the scene. [02:10:12] Candace took our favorite nerd, our [02:10:15] favorite person that could spew off any [02:10:17] fact off the top of his brain and said, [02:10:19] "You know what? [02:10:23] You're a 24-year-old boy. [02:10:26] It's okay for you to have a little fun, [02:10:28] too. It's okay for you to be human. It's [02:10:30] okay for you to be able to sing in the [02:10:33] car to your favorite song." [02:10:37] Can Owens balanced and showed Charlie [02:10:42] that he could be and fully embrace the [02:10:46] inner child that was within. Not just [02:10:49] work your tail off, not just inspire and [02:10:51] sacrifice all your life to others, but [02:10:55] to find joy [02:10:58] on the path. [02:11:01] It was also that time in 2018 when I [02:11:03] started to get to know Charlie better. [02:11:05] Now, keep in mind, I was a no one. I was [02:11:08] an entry- level employee. I was the [02:11:10] community college specialist for [02:11:12] Arizona. That's not a title you brag [02:11:14] about. [02:11:17] I'm sorry, guys. No one wants to share [02:11:19] that. But he took me aside and said, [02:11:22] "Andrew, how's the company doing? [02:11:25] Andrew, what do your peers think about [02:11:28] leadership? What can we do to serve you [02:11:30] better? I saw a man that as busy as his [02:11:35] as he was, [02:11:37] my opinion mattered as a nobody. [02:11:44] In 2020, COVID hit. [02:11:47] Schools came to a halt. The world was [02:11:49] afraid. [02:11:52] Companies shuttered. Companies laid off. [02:11:54] They furled. [02:11:56] You know what Charlie said? [02:11:59] We will not furlow. We will not lay off [02:12:02] any employee. [02:12:07] Not that not because we had the money, [02:12:09] not because we accepted government [02:12:10] grants, but because of two things. [02:12:15] Turning point was his family. And you do [02:12:17] not let your family down. Not even in [02:12:20] hardship. [02:12:21] [Applause] [02:12:25] And the second thing [02:12:28] was the movement must go on and no [02:12:33] sickness, no demonic thing in this world [02:12:36] will ever ever stop the movement from [02:12:38] growing. Truth will always prevail. [02:12:44] In 2022, [02:12:47] I had the birth of my son. Soon after [02:12:50] the birth of his daughter, we became [02:12:52] fathers together. [02:12:55] [Applause] [02:12:59] He had just promoted me [02:13:02] at this time to oversee all of our [02:13:05] student operations for Turning Point [02:13:07] USA. A massive responsibility [02:13:10] that he could not bear by himself. He [02:13:12] handed to me and two weeks later my son [02:13:16] came prematurely to this [02:13:26] My baby boy came prematurely to this [02:13:28] world. [02:13:30] One pound 14 o on life support. You know [02:13:34] what Charlie said? [02:13:37] Don't come back to work. [02:13:40] I will take the load for you. He didn't [02:13:43] have the capacity to take it from me. He [02:13:46] said, "Stay at the hospital. I will be [02:13:48] there for you. I'll check in. You turn [02:13:50] off your email. You turn off everything. [02:13:55] This is a man that didn't sleep, didn't [02:13:57] have time to sleep, didn't have time to [02:13:59] barely respond to a text. Say, "I'll [02:14:02] take that load for you, Andrew." And [02:14:04] checked in every day, called, [02:14:07] prayed, sent care packages, made time to [02:14:10] say, "Hey, I want to come see you at the [02:14:13] hospital." He didn't have time. [02:14:17] The man knew [02:14:20] the movement matters, [02:14:23] but souls matter more. [02:14:27] [Applause] [02:14:38] In 2023, [02:14:41] we witnessed one of the first horrific [02:14:44] incidents at UC Davis in mob form [02:14:47] encircled the school. He was trying to [02:14:49] have an event with students [02:14:52] in Northern California [02:14:55] like this and outside the venue a mob [02:14:58] formed of evil [02:15:01] evil human beings that hated him. They [02:15:05] threw rocks and shattered the glass, [02:15:07] shouted chance of death and wanted to [02:15:10] kill him. [02:15:14] He walked away from that event saying, [02:15:15] "We will not we will not cower. We will [02:15:19] not cower to those evil people. [02:15:23] We must carry on." When most would say [02:15:26] when most other speakers would say, "I'm [02:15:28] not doing that again. My family comes [02:15:30] first. I need to protect myself." He [02:15:32] said, "We're on to something." Because [02:15:35] evil only fights good when it's winning. [02:15:44] [Applause] [02:15:50] In 2024, [02:15:53] this is when the magic started. [02:15:55] In 2024, in the spring, we went to [02:16:02] University of Utah, just 60 miles north [02:16:06] of where he was shot. [02:16:10] He said, "Andrew, before the semester [02:16:12] ends," it was May. Before the semester [02:16:14] ends, I want to do a prove me wrong one. [02:16:16] Let's just do one more. I feel like [02:16:18] we're on to something. I want to do [02:16:20] these campus debates. We're on to [02:16:21] something. Said, "Yes, boss. We'll [02:16:23] figure out. We'll find you a school. [02:16:26] University of Utah accommodated. We went [02:16:28] up there and we got a crowd of 300 [02:16:31] students. 300 students, everyone. That [02:16:34] is one section right here. One section. [02:16:37] And we were ecstatic. [02:16:40] 300 kids were there cheering us on, [02:16:43] booing, yelling, loving us, debating. [02:16:46] And we're like, you know what? That [02:16:48] we're on to something. We got to keep [02:16:50] doing this. And afterwards, he said, [02:16:51] Andrew, we're doubling down. I just want [02:16:54] to do per me wrongs. I just want to [02:16:56] debate kids. That's all I want to do. [02:16:59] This is effective. And you know what [02:17:00] else I'm going to do? [02:17:03] I'm going to go on a platform called Tik [02:17:04] Tok. [02:17:08] You know why, Andrew? [02:17:10] We need to reach the youth. And that is [02:17:13] where young Americans are. We need to [02:17:15] fight the battle where they're at. No [02:17:18] different than being on college [02:17:19] campuses. No different than being on [02:17:21] high school campuses. We need to be in [02:17:23] media. We need to be on social media [02:17:25] platforms. We need [02:17:27] to be a voice of influence, a voice of [02:17:29] reason. He said, "No one else is doing [02:17:32] this. Everyone else is saying, "Get off [02:17:35] that platform. Don't use. I'm going to [02:17:37] embrace it. We're going onto enemy [02:17:39] territory. We're going to speak to young [02:17:41] Americans where they're at. I want them [02:17:43] to hear our ideas because our ideas win [02:17:46] in the end. They always win. And we see [02:17:48] that debate after debate after debate [02:17:51] which is why you're all here because you [02:17:53] saw something in the logic and the [02:17:55] inspiration of what he said. He said [02:17:57] that resonates. [02:17:59] Not just you. There are hands raised [02:18:01] here. Raise your hand if he changed your [02:18:03] mind. If he inspired you, if he made you [02:18:07] want to be a more godly, better person. [02:18:10] Yes, he did that to you and millions [02:18:14] others that aren't here. Millions [02:18:16] others. [02:18:19] But here's the beautiful thing about [02:18:21] this. As his platform grew, as the [02:18:24] debates became bigger, larger, and we [02:18:27] started averaging two, three, four, [02:18:30] 5,000 students, as far as you could see [02:18:33] on the quad. [02:18:38] What changed was Charlie used to be this [02:18:42] witty, comical, own the libs man. [02:18:47] But as his platform grew, he matured [02:18:51] spiritually to recognize it wasn't about [02:18:54] owning the libs. It wasn't about [02:18:57] fighting fire with fire. It was about [02:19:00] dousing the fire with water. It was [02:19:04] about [02:19:07] he knew that the best thing that he [02:19:10] could do was not own the libs, but show [02:19:14] the libs a pathway forward. That hey, [02:19:19] you know what? We may disagree, [02:19:22] but I can hope that you see I come from [02:19:24] a good place. I hope that you can see [02:19:28] that we're both humans. I hope that you [02:19:30] can see that you may disagree with me, [02:19:31] but that there is a God that loves you. [02:19:33] I hope that you can see that maybe at [02:19:36] the end [02:19:38] that this crowd treated you with [02:19:40] civility, respect, and showed you we [02:19:44] will take the high road when they go [02:19:46] low. [02:19:48] We will always take the high road when [02:19:50] they go low. We will not be bitter. We [02:19:53] will not be sorrowful. [02:19:55] We will forgive. And we will show them [02:19:57] how in the end good prevails always. [02:20:01] Always. [02:20:06] Now in in closing, [02:20:12] I want to share Charlie's last moments. [02:20:17] For I was with that man. [02:20:20] I was with that man on his last hours, [02:20:24] last minutes. [02:20:26] last seconds. [02:20:33] What's powerful about Charlie [02:20:36] is he must have known. He must have [02:20:38] known that the good work he did put him [02:20:43] in harm's way. [02:20:45] He knew, [02:20:47] but he also knew that he was God's hand. [02:20:52] And when God calls you to do something, [02:20:54] you must not cower. And he did not. [02:20:59] Those last moments, we're flying up to [02:21:02] Utah. [02:21:03] I want you to know his first experience [02:21:06] with me and his last, [02:21:10] ironically, were rooted in the Bible. [02:21:12] The first time I saw him, he was reading [02:21:13] the Bible in a cafe. And the last last [02:21:16] time I saw him, [02:21:19] we were flying up together and the whole [02:21:21] 90-minute flight up to Utah, he was in [02:21:24] the scriptures [02:21:27] trying to understand God's word for him, [02:21:30] debating with his pastor, trying to [02:21:31] understand the context, the meaning [02:21:33] behind all of it. [02:21:38] He was a humble man. [02:21:41] He was a humble man. He had the [02:21:42] attention of the world. He had the [02:21:44] president on speed dial. He had whatever [02:21:46] he could want. But in the end, he was a [02:21:50] humble, humble servant of the Lord. [02:21:55] Someone when his last conversation was [02:21:57] me with Andrew, [02:21:59] I can't wait to go on campus. [02:22:02] Make sure my entrance song is Thunder [02:22:04] Struck. Please no more of this girly [02:22:06] music. I need a nice riveting masculine [02:22:09] song to go on campus to. And I was like, [02:22:11] I got you, boss. thunder struck. It is [02:22:16] another thing he mentioned. He's Andrew, [02:22:18] what does this audience need to know? [02:22:20] What do these students in Utah need to [02:22:22] know? I'm not here to I'm here to debate [02:22:25] them, but I'm not here to pick a fight. [02:22:28] I want to reach them. I want to know [02:22:30] what they're going through. Give me [02:22:32] understanding. [02:22:34] That was him. [02:22:37] [Applause] [02:22:41] And as he walked out into that crowd, [02:22:44] 5,000 students as far as you could see [02:22:47] on every level. We were in an [02:22:49] amphitheater. [02:22:51] 5,000 students screamed in joy and [02:22:56] yelled. It was a rockstar entrance [02:22:58] unlike any other. He did not need [02:23:00] thunder struck because the thunder [02:23:02] clapped and the people were excited and [02:23:04] the students cheered. [02:23:08] for a man that had changed their life [02:23:12] was there. [02:23:15] He was there. They could count on him [02:23:17] always. Always [02:23:19] because they knew he would speak justice [02:23:21] and truth. [02:23:23] And then boom, [02:23:25] he was shot. Boom, he was killed. Boom, [02:23:30] he was taken from this world. [02:23:39] And then there is silence. [02:23:42] There was silence for a split second. [02:23:47] And then the world screamed. [02:23:49] The world ran. [02:24:02] And the world wept [02:24:04] for there was darkness. [02:24:07] Such evil. Such evil. [02:24:10] Silence. A good man. You may not agree [02:24:12] with him, but he was a good man. [02:24:18] One of my favorite scriptures [02:24:21] is this [02:24:24] because it explains, I think, what a lot [02:24:26] of us were thinking in the depths of our [02:24:29] sorrow that day. [02:24:31] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, [02:24:34] neither are your ways my ways, sayeth [02:24:37] the Lord. For as the heavens are higher [02:24:39] than the earth, so are my ways than your [02:24:42] ways, and my thoughts than your [02:24:44] thoughts. [02:24:47] I can tell you [02:24:50] without a doubt, God lives. [02:24:54] He has a way and he's paved it. Charlie [02:24:58] was a vessel for reigning in a lot of [02:25:01] good in this world because in the depths [02:25:04] of that day and the silence [02:25:07] after the shot [02:25:11] ushered in a new beginning. [02:25:14] And as I struggled to understand God's [02:25:16] will and why he would let that happen to [02:25:18] such a good man, [02:25:20] a man I knew, a man I loved, [02:25:23] the days that followed shows exactly why [02:25:29] this world is healing. This world is [02:25:32] coming together. This world recognized [02:25:38] the evil that was done. [02:25:41] It's just that it's evil. They realize [02:25:44] there is a battle on this earth. There's [02:25:46] a battle between good and evil and we [02:25:48] must stand strong. Charlie was just a [02:25:50] martyr. A martyr of someone that [02:25:52] represents so many of us that are [02:25:54] fighting for good in our lives for [02:25:55] fighting to overcome our own demons. And [02:25:58] he was taken from us. [02:26:01] But what you show the world today by [02:26:03] being here is that good will prevail and [02:26:08] that Charlie's death was not in vain. [02:26:12] [Applause] [02:26:16] And I promise you, I promise you, I will [02:26:20] stand here every day. I know our team [02:26:22] will fight. Our team's motivated more [02:26:25] than ever. [02:26:27] Motivated more than ever. And I know you [02:26:29] are as well, [02:26:31] Charlie. [02:26:33] what he sees in the world right now. I [02:26:35] know he's smiling down realizing that if [02:26:38] his sacrifice brought about good in this [02:26:40] world [02:26:42] that it was a job well done. Please send [02:26:45] me, Lord. [02:26:47] And I pray that we can carry on his [02:26:49] mission. I pray that we keep him in the [02:26:52] news. I pray that we keep him relevant, [02:26:55] his name out on our heart, that the [02:26:57] world knows what he represents. the [02:26:59] world knows what is to come because [02:27:02] there is a reckoning and it's going to [02:27:04] be a reckoning of righteousness and I [02:27:06] cannot wait to see it. God bless you. We [02:27:09] love you. The future is bright. [02:27:12] [Applause] [02:27:31] My name is Lucas Miles. I'm the senior [02:27:34] director of TPUSA Faith and I'm a [02:27:37] pastor. [02:27:40] And I want to say a few things before we [02:27:42] close here tonight. [02:27:46] In the middle of the second century, [02:27:48] there was a church father by the name of [02:27:50] Polycarp. [02:27:52] And Polycarp was arrested because he [02:27:54] refused to renounce Christ. [02:27:58] And when they arrested him at the age of [02:28:00] 86 years old, [02:28:02] they pleaded with him. They debated with [02:28:05] him. They tried to get him to say that [02:28:09] Jesus was not the Christ. [02:28:12] And you know what he did? He proved him [02:28:14] wrong. [02:28:23] when they couldn't convince him [02:28:26] because they didn't want to take the [02:28:28] life of an 86-y old man. [02:28:31] They had no other choice in their minds. [02:28:34] But they drugg him, [02:28:37] tied him up, [02:28:39] and brought him to the amphitheater. [02:28:42] And in the amphitheater, they put [02:28:44] together a pile of sticks and a stake in [02:28:46] the ground. [02:28:48] And when he refused to renounce Jesus [02:28:50] Christ as his Lord and Savior, [02:28:53] they started to nail him to the pole to [02:28:57] burn him at the stake. [02:29:01] And he said to them this, [02:29:04] he said, "I don't need nails [02:29:07] to stand for my Lord and Savior Jesus [02:29:11] Christ." [02:29:13] And he stood there in that pile as they [02:29:16] lit it on fire and he did not move. [02:29:21] And the witnesses that were watching [02:29:23] that day, [02:29:25] they said of him that as this fire [02:29:28] consumed all of all the sticks and the [02:29:31] the debris that they put around it, that [02:29:34] polycarp was not burned. [02:29:38] The fire surrounded him, yet it did not [02:29:42] stop him. [02:29:44] Finally, [02:29:46] in frustration, one of the soldiers who [02:29:48] were present [02:29:50] threw a spear into Polycarp's side, [02:29:55] piercing his heart, and he dropped to [02:29:57] the ground a martyr for Jesus Christ. [02:30:03] My friend Charlie Kirk [02:30:06] died a martyr for Jesus Christ. [02:30:16] And before we go here tonight, I want to [02:30:19] remind you a couple things about what it [02:30:21] means to be a martyr. [02:30:24] First off, martyrdom [02:30:27] is not defeat. It is victory in Christ [02:30:31] Jesus. Revelations 2:10 says, "Be [02:30:33] faithful to the point of death, and I [02:30:35] will give you the crown of life." [02:30:42] Martyrdom is not silence. [02:30:45] Martyrdom is not silence. [02:30:48] It is a testimony that still speaks. The [02:30:51] Bible says in Hebrews 11:4, that [02:30:53] although he is dead, talking about Abel, [02:30:56] he still speaks through his faith. And [02:30:58] I'll tell you what, Charlie is still [02:31:00] speaking today. and still proving a lot [02:31:02] of people wrong. [02:31:03] [Applause] [02:31:11] Martyrdom is not loss. [02:31:14] The Bible says it's gain in the presence [02:31:16] of Christ. Philippians 1:21 says, "For [02:31:19] me to live is Christ and to die is [02:31:21] gain." Paul wrote. [02:31:24] See, martyrdom is not also meaningless. [02:31:28] The Bible says that the martyr is [02:31:30] precious in God's sight. The death of [02:31:32] his faithful ones is valuable in the [02:31:34] Lord's sight. Psalms 116:15. [02:31:39] And lastly, this martyrdom is not the [02:31:41] end. [02:31:43] It is the beginning of eternal glory. [02:31:47] Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4, he says, "I [02:31:51] have fought the good fight. I finished [02:31:53] the race. I have kept the faith. There [02:31:56] is reserved for me the crown of [02:31:58] righteousness with the Lord Jesus judge [02:32:00] will give me on that day and not only to [02:32:02] me but also to those who have loved his [02:32:06] appearing. [02:32:08] See, I'll tell you this. [02:32:11] Much like Polycarp, [02:32:14] my friend Charlie faced the fire. He [02:32:17] faced the fire throughout all the years [02:32:20] that were described to us tonight. [02:32:23] But that fire could not consume him. [02:32:27] He was always bigger [02:32:29] than the obstacle. [02:32:31] And I think if Charlie were here today, [02:32:33] he would tell you that the reason he was [02:32:35] bigger than the obstacle is because his [02:32:37] Lord and Savior was bigger than the [02:32:39] obstacle. [02:32:41] [Applause] [02:32:49] See, in the same way that the fire could [02:32:51] not consume Polycarp, the fire did not [02:32:54] consume Charlie Kirk. To silence [02:32:56] Polycarp, they stabbed him with a spear. [02:32:59] But they thought that they could silence [02:33:02] Charlie Kirk with a bullet. [02:33:05] But they were wrong [02:33:07] because we are Charlie. [02:33:09] [Applause] [02:33:16] Charlie showed us the way. Charlie [02:33:20] pointed up. In the same way that Paul [02:33:23] said, "Follow me as I follow Christ." I [02:33:25] think we could say about our friend [02:33:26] Charlie Kirk, "Follow him as he followed [02:33:29] Christ." [02:33:31] Charlie showed us the way. [02:33:34] And on just a second here, I'm going to [02:33:35] pray and close us out. [02:33:38] But I think in this moment, on this day, [02:33:43] for this reason, [02:33:45] I got to think that Charlie would want [02:33:47] me to ask you one question, [02:33:50] and that is, do you know Jesus Christ as [02:33:52] your Lord and Savior? [02:33:54] [Applause] [02:34:00] I'm going to do this real quickly. [02:34:03] If you're here tonight and you've never [02:34:05] accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and [02:34:07] Savior, I'm just going to either ask [02:34:08] that you stand or or raise your hand. [02:34:12] Make a decision. I see you up here. It's [02:34:14] awesome. That's awesome. Thank you, [02:34:17] Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. [02:34:21] Thank you, Lord. I see you up here. [02:34:23] Thank you. Thank you. [02:34:27] All it takes to be saved is this. It's [02:34:30] repeating this simple prayer. I believe [02:34:33] that Jesus is the Christ and I accept [02:34:35] him as my Lord and Savior. [02:34:38] Charlie's not dead. He's alive and he's [02:34:41] going to be alive for all eternity [02:34:43] because he knew one truth that a lot of [02:34:46] people in this world didn't know and [02:34:48] that was that Jesus Christ died for his [02:34:50] sins and he received him as Lord and [02:34:53] Savior. [02:35:00] As we leave this place here tonight, the [02:35:03] power of this movement going forward, I [02:35:06] believe truly is going to be driven by [02:35:09] the revival that is taking place right [02:35:11] now across this nation and across this [02:35:13] world. [02:35:17] Don't lose this moment. [02:35:22] Don't forget what it's all about. [02:35:26] Don't lose sight [02:35:28] of the reason why Charlie was killed. It [02:35:31] wasn't over politics. [02:35:34] It was over faith. [02:35:36] The Bible says that the world hates you [02:35:41] because Jesus said it hated him first. [02:35:46] Charlie embodied that. Let me pray over [02:35:49] us tonight. Let's have everybody stand [02:35:51] up here this evening. [02:35:58] And let me just say this, Erica and the [02:36:00] kids, Chrissy and I love you and we will [02:36:03] fight with you and stand beside you as [02:36:06] long as it takes. [02:36:08] Father God, we just praise you tonight [02:36:11] in our pain. And Lord, I pray right now [02:36:14] for supernatural healing over people's [02:36:16] hearts. that you would turn the anger [02:36:19] and the bitterness into just passion and [02:36:22] hope for future and eternity in you. [02:36:27] Father, I thank you for receiving our [02:36:29] friend Charlie Kirk. I thank you that he [02:36:32] is not in pain, that he's not in [02:36:34] sadness, he's not in loss, but he is now [02:36:37] in that great cloud of witnesses [02:36:40] cheering us on as we move forward. [02:36:44] And Lord, as he so often liked to quote, [02:36:48] Lord, may we embrace the call to follow [02:36:51] you and say, "Here I am, Lord. Send me." [02:36:56] We love you guys. Thank you for being [02:36:58] here tonight. God bless America. God [02:37:01] bless Charlie Kirk.
