[00:00:00] It is the week of Christmas and I always
[00:00:02] try to do a video that is a little more
[00:00:04] light-hearted for this week and there's
[00:00:07] a news story that the mainstream media
[00:00:09] has been completely ignoring. You guys
[00:00:12] know that I love pets. So, if you have a
[00:00:15] dog or a cat, go ahead and call your
[00:00:17] pets over and watch this video because
[00:00:20] this is something you need to know
[00:00:22] about.
[00:00:39] Something I cover a lot on this channel
[00:00:41] is the weaponization of the government
[00:00:43] against innocent people. This is a true
[00:00:46] story.
[00:00:48] Somewhere in the south of France, there
[00:00:50] lives a cat named Remy. You heard me
[00:00:54] right. It is the same name as the main
[00:00:56] character from the Disney movie
[00:00:58] Ratatouille.
[00:00:59] Although I think this Remy is cuter.
[00:01:02] Remy has been charged as a criminal and
[00:01:04] taken to court. Rey's owner's neighbor
[00:01:07] has accused him of trespassing. The
[00:01:10] allegations include urinating on a
[00:01:12] duvet, defecating in the neighbor's
[00:01:14] garden, and leaving paw prints on
[00:01:16] Stuckco. The neighbor considers this
[00:01:19] vandalism.
[00:01:20] Remy has been smeared in the press and
[00:01:22] is now being referred to as Remy the
[00:01:25] criminal. Okay, I have to stop here and
[00:01:28] say that this neighbor is being a little
[00:01:31] ridiculous.
[00:01:33] How is leaving paw prints outside your
[00:01:35] house vandalism? And if he does not want
[00:01:38] his duvet peed on by cats, how about not
[00:01:41] leaving it outside?
[00:01:44] And just look at him. He looks so sweet
[00:01:46] and innocent. He looks to me like a
[00:01:50] really good boy. Well, the case went to
[00:01:52] trial this year and the judges declared
[00:01:54] Remy guilty. The owner was fined $1,250,
[00:02:00] which is equivalent to $1,445.
[00:02:04] Not only that, the judge sentenced Remy
[00:02:07] to house arrest. He ordered the cat to
[00:02:10] be locked inside for the rest of his
[00:02:12] life and never be let outside again with
[00:02:14] ongoing fines for future violations. Am
[00:02:18] I the only person who finds this crazy?
[00:02:21] Some cats are meant to be outdoor cats.
[00:02:25] You cannot keep them inside. Remy is
[00:02:28] already sterilized and neutered, so we
[00:02:30] know the owner is being responsible and
[00:02:32] taking care of him. This neighbor sounds
[00:02:35] insane.
[00:02:37] How can you live in a city and not
[00:02:39] expect cats to walk through your
[00:02:41] backyard? But the craziest thing about
[00:02:43] the situation is that I believe Remy is
[00:02:46] being falsely accused.
[00:02:49] It turns out that there are other cats
[00:02:51] in the neighborhood, including another
[00:02:53] orange cat that looks like Remy.
[00:02:57] How does this neighbor know that it was
[00:02:58] Remy that peed on his duvet and not the
[00:03:01] other orange cat?
[00:03:04] I think this $1,400 fine is ridiculous.
[00:03:08] $1,400 is a lot of money. You cannot
[00:03:12] just sue people when cats walk through
[00:03:14] your yard. This guy is looking out his
[00:03:17] window and every time he sees a cat, he
[00:03:19] says, "Give me my $1,400.
[00:03:23] I deserve $1,400. I saw a cat
[00:03:26] trespassing." The case gets worse
[00:03:29] because now the neighbor has sued again,
[00:03:31] claiming that Remy escaped from his home
[00:03:33] and came into his yard again.
[00:03:36] This time, the owner could receive an
[00:03:38] additional €2,000 fine or €2,312.
[00:03:45] How does this neighbor know it is not
[00:03:47] the other orange cat?
[00:03:50] This second trial was supposed to happen
[00:03:51] this month. I've not heard about it, so
[00:03:54] maybe it got delayed. In the meantime,
[00:03:57] this cat is suffering. The owner says he
[00:04:01] has gained weight and has become
[00:04:03] aggressive. It's as if he's been
[00:04:05] sentenced to house arrest, a kind of
[00:04:07] imprisonment and double punishment.
[00:04:11] This is outrageous.
[00:04:13] What is the judge in this case thinking?
[00:04:16] It sounds like this neighbor is just a
[00:04:19] jerk.
[00:04:21] I think this neighbor should be thrown
[00:04:23] in prison for abusing the court system.
[00:04:26] A judge is supposed to apply some sanity
[00:04:29] and logic in a case. This case is
[00:04:32] setting a precedent for every pet owner
[00:04:35] in France.
[00:04:37] Now people can sue you because your cat
[00:04:40] left paw prints on their stucco.
[00:04:44] Your cat can be accused of pooping in
[00:04:46] someone's garden even though there are
[00:04:48] many other cats in the neighborhood.
[00:04:51] This judge is making it impossible to
[00:04:54] own a pet in France because no one will
[00:04:56] be able to afford the fines. And I have
[00:04:59] to also say that I find it disgusting
[00:05:01] that this is what the court system in
[00:05:03] France is being used for, to attack
[00:05:06] cute, innocent kittens.
[00:05:10] With all the problems in France right
[00:05:11] now, this is what the courts are
[00:05:14] spending their time on. What about the
[00:05:16] massive immigration problems? What about
[00:05:19] the rising violent crime?
[00:05:22] What about political corruption? But no,
[00:05:26] rather than look into any of those
[00:05:27] things, they want to go after this poor
[00:05:30] cat. I don't know if this judge realizes
[00:05:33] how important pets are. Our law should
[00:05:36] be embracing healthy pet ownership, not
[00:05:39] penalizing it.
[00:05:41] I'm going to show you a video, and I
[00:05:43] would give this to the judge as evidence
[00:05:46] of how important pets can be.
[00:06:04] Oh, thanks mom.
[00:06:08] >> Thank you.
[00:06:10] Thank you.
[00:06:12] >> That's okay.
[00:06:15] >> Thank you. That's all right, darling.
[00:06:18] >> That's okay, mate.
[00:06:23] Little kitten.
[00:06:31] >> You happy?
[00:06:36] >> Oh, baby.
[00:06:41] >> Why is he crying? Cuz he's happy. He's
[00:06:44] overwhelmed.
[00:06:48] >> This is your little friend.
[00:06:50] It is Christmas. I hope this judge has a
[00:06:53] change of heart and does not take away
[00:06:55] the joy of pet ownership from the people
[00:06:58] of France. Now, I want to hear from you.
[00:07:01] Do you think this judge's decision was
[00:07:03] fair? Let me know in the comments down
