[00:00:01] newly selected president in Lebanon as
[00:00:05] well as King Abdullah in Jordan before
[00:00:07] coming here and I think we are at the
[00:00:10] cusp of a potentially enormous
[00:00:12] opportunity Israel to its great credit
[00:00:16] has broken Iran's a axis Iran is
[00:00:21] recognized throughout the region as the
[00:00:23] common Scourge and enemy and the
[00:00:27] progress made in Lebanon and in Gaza
[00:00:31] presents that kind of opportunity for
[00:00:36] a real Prospect of peace and potential
[00:00:39] progress for the region as a whole but
[00:00:43] Lebanon needs
[00:00:46] support the Lebanese Armed Forces should
[00:00:50] be supported by the United States much
[00:00:53] more than they have been because they
[00:00:55] are the institution that can
[00:00:58] preserve the victories that have been
[00:01:01] accomplished against Hezbollah which are
[00:01:05] so important to Israel as the Prime
[00:01:07] Minister emphasized to us today and he
[00:01:09] strongly supports the United States
[00:01:12] being more
[00:01:15] forcefully supportive of the Lebanese
[00:01:18] armed
[00:01:19] forces and I'll be very
[00:01:24] blunt my view is that the Trump plan is
[00:01:28] a non plan it's a hot mess
[00:01:31] the possibility of takeover by the
[00:01:33] United States is a nonstarter I think
[00:01:37] for most of us a takeover involving any
[00:01:41] troops any taxpayer dollars is
[00:01:45] simply a
[00:01:46] nonstarter but the encouraging Point
[00:01:50] here is that the Arab states will be
[00:01:54] presenting a
[00:01:55] plan to the
[00:01:57] president my talks with King Abdullah
[00:02:00] convinced me that the plan that the Arab
[00:02:04] states will offer to president
[00:02:08] Trump provides a realistic Prospect for
[00:02:12] normalizing relations self-determination
[00:02:14] by the Palestinians Regional defense
[00:02:17] arrangements and security for Israel if
[00:02:20] those components are part of
[00:02:23] a realistic plan it could be a
[00:02:27] GameChanger for
[00:02:30] the
[00:02:31] region and finally let me just say as
[00:02:35] always uh for me and I think for many in
[00:02:38] our delegation the most powerfully
[00:02:40] moving part of our trip was our
[00:02:42] conversation with the hostages
[00:02:46] obviously the accomplishments of the IDF
[00:02:50] and the Israeli intelligence Community
[00:02:52] are simply awesome particularly the
[00:02:55] destruction using cell phones and pagers
[00:02:58] and Lebanon the progress made against
[00:03:01] Hezbollah and against
[00:03:04] Hamas should impress anyone with
[00:03:07] military or intelligence knowledge but
[00:03:11] the hostage families in their courage
[00:03:15] and strength their determination
[00:03:16] perseverance are beyond words in the way
[00:03:21] that they affected me when I first came
[00:03:26] here a couple of weeks after October
[00:03:29] oober 6 I think it was the high point or
[00:03:33] meeting with them at that moment and
[00:03:36] again
[00:03:37] today so the urgency of returning the
[00:03:40] hostages continually is on my mind and
[00:03:43] my
[00:03:44] heart and uh I think it they will be
[00:03:48] with me when I go back to the United
[00:03:53] States a little bit of housekeeping
[00:03:56] first in uh less than 20 2 4 hours our
[00:04:01] delegation has had meetings with the
[00:04:03] defense minister the foreign minister
[00:04:06] the speaker of the caness and the Prime
[00:04:08] Minister and his team so first of all
[00:04:12] our thanks to the Israeli government for
[00:04:14] making such a significant uh element of
[00:04:19] Israeli leadership available to us in a
[00:04:21] short time period uh second this is
[00:04:25] actually a pretty cool delegation as
[00:04:29] Senate delegations go anyway Lindsey
[00:04:32] Graham has been working intensely hard
[00:04:36] to try to solve problems here in the mid
[00:04:39] East and I am very proud to be
[00:04:41] associated with him dick Blumenthal has
[00:04:43] been working with him very carefully
[00:04:45] showing both bipartisanship and
[00:04:47] extraordinary diligence they've both
[00:04:49] been here over and over and over again
[00:04:51] dick started coming to Israel when he
[00:04:52] was 11 years old joonie Ernst has been
[00:04:56] the conscience of the Senate with
[00:04:58] respect to hostages and is extremely
[00:05:00] knowledgeable over here all the time her
[00:05:03] colleague Dan Sullivan couldn't be with
[00:05:04] us this evening because he has another
[00:05:06] speaking engagement but he is also a
[00:05:08] very frequent traveler to this area very
[00:05:12] strong on uh Regional
[00:05:14] issues uh Adam Schiff spent very
[00:05:18] important years as the head of the house
[00:05:20] intelligence committee and is deeply
[00:05:22] versed in the issues in this part of the
[00:05:24] world and Andy Kim as a former Foreign
[00:05:27] Service Officer really knows how uh
[00:05:30] diplomacy is done so it's been a great
[00:05:32] honor for me to be with everyone and
[00:05:34] that's kind of the background for uh the
[00:05:36] delegation the one point that I will
[00:05:38] make is that one of the purposes we have
[00:05:41] had in coming here has been to on the
[00:05:45] one hand make sure that Israel is able
[00:05:50] to zero out its continuing risk of Hamas
[00:05:55] attack out of
[00:05:56] Gaza but in doing so not irreparably
[00:06:02] disrupt the really important ongoing
[00:06:05] peace framework that has been developed
[00:06:08] among Israel's neighbors deconflict
[00:06:12] those two imperatives is going to be the
[00:06:15] key to the Region's success and we've
[00:06:18] been here trying to encourage that uh
[00:06:20] and with that let me turn it over to
[00:06:22] Senator Ernst number one you will be
[00:06:24] invited back that was
[00:06:27] good thank you and to I will also share
[00:06:30] my thanks for the Israeli government for
[00:06:34] making these meetings happen today but
[00:06:36] first and foremost um I want to say
[00:06:38] thank you to the hostage families that
[00:06:40] joined us this afternoon and again
[00:06:43] shared their concerns uh their their
[00:06:46] feelings of loss and
[00:06:49] sacrifice uh for those that are still
[00:06:51] being held those that are now deceased
[00:06:54] is quite palpable we feel it uh to our
[00:06:57] very core uh the uh the urgency they
[00:07:02] asked us to communicate it is uh
[00:07:05] necessary that we bring our hostages
[00:07:07] home today uh so as soon as possible so
[00:07:12] the past several years I've traveled
[00:07:14] extensively here in the Middle East and
[00:07:18] since October 7th um I have been in the
[00:07:22] country now five times uh working on
[00:07:26] hostage issues other issues when it
[00:07:28] comes to the peace treaty and uh
[00:07:32] strengthening our Abraham Accords uh
[00:07:35] what I have heard from many leaders not
[00:07:38] just here in Israel but with Arab
[00:07:40] Nations is a question they will ask me
[00:07:43] where is American
[00:07:45] leadership we make no doubt about it
[00:07:49] folks that in the last several weeks we
[00:07:52] have seen American leadership it is
[00:07:56] present once again so first again
[00:08:01] hostages must come home
[00:08:04] now now and this threat is not just
[00:08:08] against Hamas but it's their backers
[00:08:12] Iran there is a Common Thread through
[00:08:15] the Middle
[00:08:17] East those that see Iran as an enemy
[00:08:21] which would be not only Israel but also
[00:08:25] our Arab partners and allies
[00:08:29] Iran listen very
[00:08:32] clearly we will put maximum pressure on
[00:08:36] you and we will work with our Israeli
[00:08:40] Partners to make sure you do not succeed
[00:08:45] economically militarily politically in
[00:08:49] this
[00:08:50] region so we will continue to be the
[00:08:54] absolute partner to Israel and our
[00:08:57] friends and partners here in the region
[00:09:00] absolute there is no daylight between
[00:09:04] Israel and the United States of America
[00:09:07] bring our hostages home now in Iran
[00:09:11] Hamas we are coming for you Senator
[00:09:17] sh chairman Graham I want to join and
[00:09:20] thank you for organizing this delegation
[00:09:24] uh it is really an honor to be back in
[00:09:25] Israel a country that I feel a very deep
[00:09:28] personal connection
[00:09:29] with um it
[00:09:32] was very very moving as uh Senator Ernst
[00:09:36] was saying for us to meet with families
[00:09:38] of the
[00:09:39] hostages uh to hear the 500 Days of hell
[00:09:43] that they have been through uh none of
[00:09:46] us can imagine what that is
[00:09:49] like and being here again uh one feels
[00:09:52] the collective sense of trauma that the
[00:09:55] nation has been through and continues to
[00:09:57] be going through uh and I just want to
[00:10:00] underscore what my colleagues have said
[00:10:02] that you are not alone uh the United
[00:10:04] States stands shoulder-to-shoulder with
[00:10:07] Israel we have
[00:10:10] been uh so devastated not only by the
[00:10:14] the magnitude of the horror that was
[00:10:16] inflicted on
[00:10:18] Israel um 500 days ago but also by the
[00:10:23] incredible wave of anti-Semitism it
[00:10:26] Unleashed around the world all too much
[00:10:28] of which we have experienced in the
[00:10:30] United States as well um a surge of
[00:10:34] anti-Semitism which I know must
[00:10:36] contribute to a sense in Israel of of
[00:10:39] being alone but we want to underscore
[00:10:42] that you are not alone uh you have a
[00:10:45] very powerful friend and Ally standing
[00:10:47] with you and that is the United States
[00:10:48] of America Hamas can never be allowed to
[00:10:52] pose a military threat to Israel again
[00:10:54] Hamas cannot be allowed to govern or
[00:10:57] oppose any kind of um Authority in Gaza
[00:11:01] or anywhere else again uh that is a
[00:11:06] nonstarter I do think it is
[00:11:08] important to think about where Israel
[00:11:13] wants this to end up uh it is hard to
[00:11:16] know how to prosecute a war without
[00:11:18] knowing for sure where you want the end
[00:11:20] to be and although I know this is a
[00:11:23] unpopular idea in Israel I believe that
[00:11:26] ultimately the way to a lasting peace
[00:11:29] will require two
[00:11:30] states uh what the attributes of a
[00:11:33] Palestinian state will be will have to
[00:11:35] be the subject of
[00:11:37] negotiation but I hope
[00:11:41] that after Hamas is no longer a threat
[00:11:45] to Israel or anywhere else in the world
[00:11:48] uh I hope that when security not just a
[00:11:53] sense of security by Israelis but the
[00:11:55] reality of security for Israel has been
[00:11:58] restored
[00:11:59] that we can once again think about what
[00:12:02] the future uh can look like uh that we
[00:12:05] can help achieve together uh and once
[00:12:08] again just a great honor and privilege
[00:12:10] to to be here in Israel thank
[00:12:17] you thank you Senator Graham and to my
[00:12:20] colleagues uh for letting me be a part
[00:12:23] of such an important trip where we were
[00:12:26] able to travel to the m security
[00:12:27] conference come here and raise up the
[00:12:30] profile of these issues for those that
[00:12:32] don't know me I'm Senator Andy Kim and I
[00:12:34] have to just say it was immensely
[00:12:36] powerful to be able to stand here
[00:12:38] alongside Israel commemorating 500 Days
[00:12:41] since the attacks on from on October 7th
[00:12:46] uh to grieve to remember and I think it
[00:12:49] was important to raise up to remember
[00:12:51] the over 40 Americans that were brutally
[00:12:53] killed on that day and then the hostages
[00:12:55] that we are seeking to have released and
[00:12:59] as the senator from New Jersey my
[00:13:02] responsibility is certainly first and
[00:13:03] foremost as well with my own constituent
[00:13:07] the Alexander family Adon Alexander that
[00:13:10] is a name that I raised in every single
[00:13:13] meeting that I had
[00:13:15] today and the fact that we also had a
[00:13:17] chance to sit down with his mother and
[00:13:20] hear from the families of the hostages
[00:13:22] what they really wanted to express is
[00:13:23] that hostages are not
[00:13:26] leverage they should not be used in that
[00:13:28] type of me means for such critical
[00:13:31] purposes right now is seeking peace and
[00:13:33] security and the fact that they are is
[00:13:36] Despicable so we call for the immediate
[00:13:38] release of all remaining hostages Adon
[00:13:41] and every single one of those left
[00:13:44] remaining and what we really wanted to
[00:13:47] be able to press forward and again these
[00:13:49] were the words of the families of the
[00:13:50] hostages they said this is a moment
[00:13:52] right now there is a moment right now in
[00:13:55] this diplomatic window to be able to
[00:13:56] push forward for the release of all
[00:13:59] and as we had these meetings as well
[00:14:02] with so many different leaders it's also
[00:14:04] clear that there is a window right now
[00:14:06] to try to push forward on a regional
[00:14:08] solution one that hopefully can build
[00:14:11] towards an enduring security and we're
[00:14:12] not being naive we certainly see things
[00:14:15] as they are and the challenges that are
[00:14:17] there and protecting Israel's right to
[00:14:19] defend itself to be able to ensure that
[00:14:22] Hamas doesn't pose a threat and they are
[00:14:23] not in political or military control in
[00:14:26] Gaza or
[00:14:27] elsewhere but we have to to make sure
[00:14:29] that we're pushing for that longer
[00:14:31] enduring security to to seek the kind of
[00:14:35] stability that we want with Israel with
[00:14:37] the Palestinian people and for all in
[00:14:40] the region thank you again for letting
[00:14:41] me be a part of
[00:14:43] this take a couple of quick
[00:14:47] questions he he was first thank
[00:14:52] you thank you Senator um my question is
[00:14:56] uh regarding uh la I just wrote
[00:15:02] it yes so where things stand in terms of
[00:15:05] normalization efforts between Saudi
[00:15:07] Arabia and Israel and are they still
[00:15:09] demanding Israeli commitment for a
[00:15:11] Palestinian State and another question
[00:15:14] how effective do you think the sanctions
[00:15:17] that President Trump has imposed on the
[00:15:19] IC in terms of dropping the arrest
[00:15:21] warrants against Nat I am bikin from
[00:15:25] my24 news I'll take a shot it jump in so
[00:15:29] the Prime Minister said the biggest
[00:15:31] threat to the state of Israel is a
[00:15:33] nuclear arm to
[00:15:35] run because they will kill all the Jews
[00:15:37] with the nuke if they get it I believe
[00:15:40] that so they can't get one and they
[00:15:42] could use it if they had more than one
[00:15:45] against Arabs against us so second to
[00:15:49] that was the
[00:15:50] IC I mean look at all the threats the
[00:15:52] nation of Israel faces he believed that
[00:15:55] the international criminal court
[00:15:56] claiming jurisdiction over the state of
[00:15:59] of Israel a non-member to be prosecuted
[00:16:02] in the ha is an existential threat to
[00:16:05] Israel and I agree with that the hope is
[00:16:07] that our Democrat and Republican
[00:16:09] colleagues can take another shot at
[00:16:11] legislation to sanction the IC I think
[00:16:14] there's a breakthrough to be had where
[00:16:16] we could get 80 votes and we're going to
[00:16:18] go back to the drawing board the second
[00:16:20] thing that's important is any state that
[00:16:23] uh tries to implement the arrest warrant
[00:16:26] any nation state I believe should be
[00:16:29] sanctioned heavily by the United States
[00:16:31] why to deter we're next the theory of
[00:16:34] the case is that a non-member Israel a
[00:16:38] very robust democracy by the way the
[00:16:40] Rome statute wasn't written to deal with
[00:16:42] Israel the United States it was written
[00:16:44] to deal with ungoverned areas Lawless
[00:16:46] places in the world so the theory they
[00:16:49] are exposing is that they have
[00:16:51] jurisdiction over every country anywhere
[00:16:53] in the world and if they receive a
[00:16:55] complaint they think is legitimate they
[00:16:57] can come after Dem atically elected
[00:17:00] government with a robust rule of law uh
[00:17:05] that's not a member what prevents the
[00:17:07] ICC from coming after the president of
[00:17:09] the United States the Secretary of
[00:17:11] Defense a member of the Senate nothing
[00:17:14] so my goal is to crush the concept that
[00:17:17] the ICC has unlimited jurisdiction to go
[00:17:20] anywhere they want to go and prosecute
[00:17:22] anybody they want to prosecute Israel
[00:17:24] cannot survive with this political
[00:17:26] leadership unable to travel is soldiers
[00:17:29] threatened to go to jail for defending
[00:17:32] the state of Israel and we're next so
[00:17:35] where are we with
[00:17:37] normalization uh October 7th was
[00:17:40] designed to stop
[00:17:44] normalization Senator Ernst met with NBS
[00:17:48] on October the 6th and he was very
[00:17:52] enthusiastic about the impending
[00:17:55] breakthrough I've come here more times
[00:17:57] than I can count I practically moved to
[00:18:00] Saudi Arabia the deal was there it was a
[00:18:04] matter of days not months or weeks in
[00:18:07] October of
[00:18:09] 2023 that we were going to announce the
[00:18:11] biggest deal in a thousand years a
[00:18:14] treaty for Saudi Arabia passed by the
[00:18:17] United States Senate recognition of
[00:18:20] Israel with an endgame for the
[00:18:22] Palestinians that Israel could live with
[00:18:25] and the Arabs would accept October the
[00:18:27] 7th was signed just stop that Iran's
[00:18:30] worst nightmare above all others is for
[00:18:34] the Arabs and the Israelis to reconcile
[00:18:36] and solve the Palestinian problem in
[00:18:39] perpetuity that scares the hell out of
[00:18:42] them and October 7th was designed to
[00:18:45] stop that let me tell you where I think
[00:18:46] we're at we're ways
[00:18:50] away the attack on Israel the second
[00:18:54] largest attack on the Jewish people in
[00:18:56] the history of the Jewish people since
[00:18:58] the whole
[00:18:59] Holocaust has been
[00:19:02] traumatic the desire to reconcile or
[00:19:05] live with the Palestinians that in any
[00:19:07] way shape or form is a pretty hard sale
[00:19:09] right now in the Arab world Israel's won
[00:19:12] the war on the ground but they've lost
[00:19:14] it on television you go anywhere in the
[00:19:16] Arab world and all they see is morning
[00:19:18] noon and night attacks on the
[00:19:21] Palestinian
[00:19:22] people my promise to the people of
[00:19:26] Israel and this region is not to to give
[00:19:29] up I am very optimistic we will break
[00:19:32] through and let me tell you why there's
[00:19:35] no other
[00:19:36] solution you can destroy Hamas and we
[00:19:40] will but they will come back unless
[00:19:43] Palestinians have something to live
[00:19:46] for and Israel has security to make sure
[00:19:49] there's no other October 7th as to Iran
[00:19:53] you will never know peace in this region
[00:19:55] as long as the Ayatollah and its
[00:19:57] henchmen have the capability to
[00:19:59] terrorize the region so the number one
[00:20:01] goal For Me Above All Else Is to
[00:20:04] neutralize the Iranian nuclear program
[00:20:07] to take that threat off the table so we
[00:20:09] can talk to each other in this region
[00:20:12] and solve problems for the benefit of
[00:20:13] the world as to
[00:20:15] normalization I think it's just a matter
[00:20:17] of time because what the Arabs want and
[00:20:20] what Israel wants and what the world
[00:20:22] wants is to come together and an
[00:20:27] economic part partnership to move
[00:20:30] forward toward the light away from the
[00:20:32] darkness let me uh I think part of your
[00:20:35] question with
[00:20:37] sanctions uh let me just say about
[00:20:39] sanctions maximum pressure works the
[00:20:42] Prime Minister emphasized to us how
[00:20:45] important strengthening and enforcing
[00:20:48] the
[00:20:49] sanctions are
[00:20:51] to deterring and weakening Iran the
[00:20:55] United States can send a message to Iran
[00:20:58] the president said that if there wasn't
[00:21:02] a release of hostages there would be
[00:21:04] hell to pay
[00:21:06] now Iran ought to be the one to pay hell
[00:21:10] because ultimately they are responsible
[00:21:13] for what Hamas does as well as Hezbollah
[00:21:16] and the
[00:21:17] hoodies they are the head of the
[00:21:20] snake and the common recognition of that
[00:21:24] fact is an
[00:21:26] encouraging part of what I see happening
[00:21:29] because the Arab plan to be submitted to
[00:21:31] the president will reflect that common
[00:21:35] understanding but maximum pressure
[00:21:37] through sanctions which Senator Ernst
[00:21:40] and I have worked on uh I'm hoping we
[00:21:44] can move forward on and uh I hope the
[00:21:48] administration will do it as well
[00:21:50] because the president's the one who said
[00:21:51] there would be held
[00:21:55] Peg
[00:21:56] Senator about
[00:21:59] for you um not wanting to irreparably
[00:22:03] disrupt the ongoing peace framework with
[00:22:05] Israel's neighbors and there's some
[00:22:07] concerns in Israel about the um array of
[00:22:09] Egyptian troops and tanks um in Sinai um
[00:22:13] you know in that same vein of disrupting
[00:22:15] the peace with the neighbors so um if
[00:22:17] you could just talk a little bit about
[00:22:19] what what your concerns are um and what
[00:22:22] you think the US can do to help maintain
[00:22:24] the peace and deconflict as you
[00:22:27] said my concerns are exactly the ones
[00:22:30] that Senator
[00:22:31] Graham just expressed in order to keep
[00:22:36] the peace framework on
[00:22:39] track the Arab Partners in that peace
[00:22:42] process are going to
[00:22:44] need an
[00:22:46] understanding that works for
[00:22:49] them and that they can bring home to
[00:22:52] their populations with
[00:22:56] pride and at the same time Israel needs
[00:23:00] to make absolutely certain that Hamas
[00:23:03] never has the
[00:23:04] power to inflict casualties in Israel
[00:23:07] again and as a part of that the best way
[00:23:10] to do that is to make sure they have no
[00:23:12] power in Gaza or anywhere else again
[00:23:16] what that leaves open is the question of
[00:23:18] once Hamas is gone what is the
[00:23:21] governance for the remaining
[00:23:24] Palestinians in Gaza and it's that
[00:23:27] question that could disrupt the comfort
[00:23:31] of the Arab Partners as they conclude
[00:23:34] the deal there's still deal space there
[00:23:37] I believe and I think it will land
[00:23:39] because I'm an optimist but that's the
[00:23:41] issue that I was speaking
[00:23:46] to yes yeah we'll get you a couple
[00:23:51] more is Jody con from Newsmax Senator
[00:23:54] Graham you talked about in order the
[00:23:57] need to deal with Iran destroy Hamas and
[00:24:01] then focus on Gaza with all the
[00:24:04] attention being on President Trump's day
[00:24:07] after plan for Gaza do you feel that the
[00:24:10] world's eyes somewhat have strayed away
[00:24:13] from
[00:24:14] Iran uh the one thing that's a really
[00:24:17] good
[00:24:19] question she can't say hello without
[00:24:22] mention a
[00:24:24] run the overarching theme of all our
[00:24:27] meetings
[00:24:29] Iran Iran with a nuke is a nightmare for
[00:24:33] the Jewish State it's a nightmare for
[00:24:36] the world because Arabs will want a
[00:24:38] nuclear weapon of their own and you'll
[00:24:39] have a nuclear arms race everything's
[00:24:42] important but if you ask me people ask
[00:24:44] me what keeps you up at night traveling
[00:24:47] a lot time time changes but aroundon
[00:24:50] with a nuke because they'll use it you
[00:24:53] know I think rocket man's kind of a thug
[00:24:56] you got China you got Russia
[00:24:59] this man and his regime are held in on
[00:25:03] three things purifying Islam in their
[00:25:05] own image the Sunni Arabs destroying the
[00:25:08] Jewish State and driving every Westerner
[00:25:11] out of the mid East
[00:25:14] so every decision I make as a senator in
[00:25:19] this region is to make sure their
[00:25:21] nuclear Ambitions are never met now
[00:25:24] we're at a
[00:25:25] Crossroads time is not on our side
[00:25:29] they're accelerating in my view their
[00:25:32] desire to acquire nuclear capability
[00:25:35] because their proxies have been very
[00:25:38] seriously
[00:25:39] hurt what to do and when to do it if you
[00:25:43] want to negotiate you better put a Ron
[00:25:47] on a clock or it will never
[00:25:49] end if you want to negotiate you need to
[00:25:52] have an outcome that will secure the
[00:25:55] goal of making sure they never never
[00:25:57] have a nuke that's the Libyan model I
[00:26:00] think the chance of successfully
[00:26:02] negotiating Iran out of their nuclear
[00:26:05] Ambitions is about like me being in the
[00:26:07] NBA is possible but I don't think it's
[00:26:10] going to
[00:26:11] happen so I am urging the Trump
[00:26:15] Administration if you try negotiations
[00:26:18] put them on the clock and make sure you
[00:26:20] tell them up front what an acceptable
[00:26:22] outcome would look
[00:26:23] like if that doesn't work if you want to
[00:26:26] do that then you need to quickly pivot
[00:26:31] and give Israel the capability they're
[00:26:33] lacking which is not much to deliver a
[00:26:37] decisive blow to the Iran nuclear
[00:26:39] program one Holocaust is
[00:26:43] enough if you told me 880 years after
[00:26:46] the end of World War II there would be a
[00:26:49] power on the planet after the
[00:26:52] extermination the effort to exterminate
[00:26:54] every Jew in the world that openly vows
[00:26:58] the destruction of the Jewish
[00:27:01] people that the world would wonder what
[00:27:03] to
[00:27:04] do the answer is simple stop them stop
[00:27:07] them
[00:27:13] now thank you hi um I'm liisa rosowski
[00:27:17] from aret and I think my most questions
[00:27:19] are to you Senator Graham um first of
[00:27:22] all it's you were already asked about it
[00:27:25] but still it seems like a lot is
[00:27:28] happening now in Riad both uh in
[00:27:31] connection to the Ukrainian Russian war
[00:27:34] and here um from what you hear from the
[00:27:39] Trump's Administration and and from your
[00:27:41] meetings with
[00:27:43] Netanyahu um what would be Saudi Arabia
[00:27:47] role in um the day after in Gaza uh and
[00:27:53] is it somehow maybe interconnected with
[00:27:56] what's going on uh in Ukraine
[00:27:58] and uh second um about the IC uh before
[00:28:03] sanctioning netan and galand IC
[00:28:05] sanctioned Putin and then I don't think
[00:28:08] I heard any uh protests against it of
[00:28:11] from your side don't aren't you afraid
[00:28:14] that this bill you're trying uh to uh
[00:28:19] pass and um um um president Trump's
[00:28:22] executive order will ultimately um
[00:28:26] disrupt ruin the international law the
[00:28:29] or the international order okay thank
[00:28:32] you uh Russia and Israel are not the
[00:28:36] same BB and Putin are not the same BB
[00:28:41] actually has to get elected nobody's
[00:28:44] falling out of Windows over here that
[00:28:46] I've
[00:28:46] seen uh the idea that there's a
[00:28:49] comparison
[00:28:50] between Putin's Russia and Israel is
[00:28:53] offensive to me at every level the Prime
[00:28:56] Minister goes to court three days a week
[00:28:59] you have a very robust legal system over
[00:29:02] here and if you don't like the
[00:29:04] government today just wait there'll be
[00:29:05] an election in two weeks does anybody
[00:29:08] really believe that Putin's held
[00:29:10] accountable by anybody in Russia that's
[00:29:12] why you have the Rome statute not the
[00:29:14] United States not Israel so that idea uh
[00:29:18] to me is an offensive concept that
[00:29:20] there's any comparison all what role
[00:29:23] will will will Saudi Arabia play the key
[00:29:26] role the definitive role now how does
[00:29:30] this war end it ends with the
[00:29:31] destruction of Hamas it ends with people
[00:29:34] being able to leave Gaza they want to
[00:29:36] but the ones who choose to stay what's
[00:29:39] next and iron's on the top got to get
[00:29:42] that done nothing works the Arabs
[00:29:45] through Saudi Arabia have told me that
[00:29:48] they would recognize Israel Saudi Arabia
[00:29:51] would if they get two things a defense
[00:29:55] agreement with the United States which
[00:29:56] requires 67 votes
[00:29:58] is kind of a Checkmate to Iranian
[00:30:00] Ambitions and would be the ultimate
[00:30:02] brand change for Saudi Arabia it'd be
[00:30:04] pretty easy to sell a business interest
[00:30:06] on coming to Saudi Arabia if you could
[00:30:08] tell that business concern America will
[00:30:11] go to war for Saudi Arabia that's a big
[00:30:12] brand change City wants that two he and
[00:30:16] every other Arab leader has to deliver a
[00:30:19] dignified solution to the Palestinian
[00:30:22] issue or they will not
[00:30:24] last I understand the politics in Israel
[00:30:27] You're a un if IED in the idea you don't
[00:30:29] want to reward the Palestinians with the
[00:30:31] state after they slaughtered 1200 of
[00:30:33] your country countrymen and women I get
[00:30:36] that and nor should you but the question
[00:30:39] becomes how does this end and how do you
[00:30:41] keep amas from coming back here's the
[00:30:43] good news NBS wants Hamas to come back
[00:30:46] about as much as you do his 2030 vision
[00:30:49] is inconsistent with Hamas and the
[00:30:52] ayatola having a nuclear weapon we have
[00:30:54] an alignment of interest for the first
[00:30:56] time since I've been coming here where
[00:30:58] Arab leaderships at the UAE and Saudi
[00:31:01] Arabia have the same view of radical
[00:31:04] Islam as Israel does we want no part of
[00:31:07] it we reject them women are working in
[00:31:10] Saudi Arabia they're driving in Saudi
[00:31:11] Arabia then go to dinner by themselves
[00:31:14] things that seem small or large they're
[00:31:17] going to spend a trillion dollars in
[00:31:18] Saudi Arabia modernizing their economy
[00:31:21] becoming the leader of the world for AI
[00:31:24] Hamas prevents that from happening so to
[00:31:28] everybody in Israel you could have no
[00:31:29] better partner in destroying radical
[00:31:32] Islam than Saudi
[00:31:37] Arabia another question last question hi
[00:31:40] uh Alexander Coro from Reuters um
[00:31:42] question to Senator Graham just picking
[00:31:44] up on this point about the day after
[00:31:47] what exactly is the role of the Gulf
[00:31:49] States with regards to reconstruction
[00:31:52] security and governance and just
[00:31:53] secondly to Senator Blumenthal if I may
[00:31:55] just sneak it in what attrib about this
[00:31:58] plan that King abdalah has uh explained
[00:32:01] to you has convinced you that this is
[00:32:03] realistic and that this could work and
[00:32:04] be a viable alternative to what the
[00:32:07] president has uh has made public they're
[00:32:09] meeting in Saudi Arabia next week to
[00:32:12] come up with a plan that would allow the
[00:32:15] Palestinians to leave if they would like
[00:32:17] but if they stay in place to reconstruct
[00:32:19] without a mass Exodus and they're going
[00:32:22] to present it I think to the world but
[00:32:26] particularly president Trump the one
[00:32:28] thing that President Trump has done he
[00:32:30] started a discussion that was long
[00:32:32] overdue I think the Arabs have woken up
[00:32:34] hey we need to find a better alternative
[00:32:36] than what's been said so I'm quite
[00:32:39] optimistic the Arab world will come up
[00:32:42] with a plan and present to president
[00:32:43] Trump that shows how you can provide
[00:32:46] security to Israel and deal with a
[00:32:49] Palestinian issue without driving them
[00:32:51] all out think of World War
[00:32:54] II Germany and Japan were the most most
[00:32:58] radical populations on the planet
[00:33:01] there's no more radicalized group of
[00:33:03] people on the planet than people who
[00:33:04] live in Gaza and to lesser extent West
[00:33:08] Bank they've been taught from the time
[00:33:10] they're born to the time they die kill
[00:33:12] all the Jews how do you fix that what
[00:33:14] did we do in Germany and Japan we
[00:33:17] changed the education system we
[00:33:19] empowered new people we took the old and
[00:33:22] replaced it with the new the one thing I
[00:33:25] can promise you I don't speak Arabic I
[00:33:28] am not the guy to do this and quite
[00:33:30] frankly our friends in Israel are not
[00:33:32] the people to do this who will change
[00:33:34] the education system in Gaza the Arabs
[00:33:38] and they're doing it in their own
[00:33:39] country who will give economic hope to
[00:33:43] the Palestinians it will be the Arabs
[00:33:46] because we're not spending a dime we
[00:33:48] didn't start this war so my belief is
[00:33:52] that deradicalization and
[00:33:54] demilitarization can only be
[00:33:56] accomplished through Arab involvement
[00:33:58] the role of Israel you should have the
[00:34:01] ability to go into any place you need to
[00:34:03] go to stop a terrorist attack we did not
[00:34:06] leave Germany and
[00:34:07] Japan we had a military presence there
[00:34:10] and we're still there in a different
[00:34:11] role I think it would be foolish to
[00:34:14] expect Israel to just leave the day
[00:34:17] after Hamas is destroyed you have
[00:34:19] legitimate cons security concerns that
[00:34:22] will require some form of military
[00:34:24] presence but let me tell you what would
[00:34:26] be equally
[00:34:28] imp plausible is to occupy Gaza
[00:34:31] permanently you can't do that that will
[00:34:34] result in Israeli soldiers being killed
[00:34:37] every week so in the short term and I
[00:34:40] mean years not months Israel needs to
[00:34:43] have the security presence required to
[00:34:46] prevent another October 7th and you
[00:34:49] devolve power back to the new population
[00:34:51] you create based on conditions this
[00:34:54] worked in Germany and Japan it will work
[00:34:57] here
[00:34:58] but it won't be Americans doing this it
[00:35:01] will be the Arab world let me let me I
[00:35:04] think you you wanted me to elaborate as
[00:35:06] well
[00:35:07] um my
[00:35:10] conversations with Arab leaders most
[00:35:13] recently King Abdullah have convinced me
[00:35:16] they have a really realistic appraisal
[00:35:19] of what their role should be in their
[00:35:21] own National interest which is Security
[00:35:27] in Gaza
[00:35:28] which they have the
[00:35:29] military resources to do reconstruction
[00:35:33] in Gaza which they have the money to do
[00:35:39] education in Gaza which they have the
[00:35:43] cultural architecture to
[00:35:45] do and an appreciation for the support
[00:35:49] of the United States through a possible
[00:35:52] defense
[00:35:54] treaty against the common enemy which is
[00:35:57] Iran and to the people of the United
[00:36:00] States I would remind you that the
[00:36:03] Hezbollah
[00:36:05] flag says death to
[00:36:09] Israel death to the United States that's
[00:36:13] the common Mantra among the Iran proxies
[00:36:18] death to the United States as well as to
[00:36:21] Israel we have a Mutual Security
[00:36:25] interest here because
[00:36:28] the absence of a secure and Lasting
[00:36:34] peace for this region will mean that
[00:36:36] it's a continuing source of terrorism
[00:36:38] threatening the United States and the
[00:36:39] hoodie closure of the Red Sea is a
[00:36:43] perfect example it is increasing the
[00:36:46] cost of goods and services in the United
[00:36:49] States of America because of the
[00:36:50] increased insurance cost we are linked
[00:36:53] by unshakable bonds of faith
[00:36:58] culture economy and emotion to Israel
[00:37:02] but in a very real hard-headed practical
[00:37:05] sense and we emphasize this point to the
[00:37:07] Prime
[00:37:08] Minister our future and our Fates are
[00:37:11] inextricably linked by a common National
[00:37:14] Security interest thank you all thank
[00:37:16] you
