[00:24:08] me please. [00:24:13] Oh, say [00:24:16] can you see [00:24:19] by the dawn early light [00:24:24] what so proudly we held [00:24:29] at the twilight [00:24:32] last gleaming [00:24:34] who broad stripes and bright stars [00:24:40] through the peril. colorless fight [00:24:45] or the brearts [00:24:47] we watch [00:24:50] were so gallently [00:24:54] streaming. [00:24:57] And the rockets red glare. [00:25:01] The bombs bursting in air gave proof [00:25:07] through the night that our flag was [00:25:13] still there. [00:25:15] Oh, say [00:25:17] does that star spangled [00:25:21] B [00:25:24] away. [00:25:26] [Music] [00:25:28] Or the land [00:25:31] of the free [00:25:37] and the home of the [00:25:43] brave. [00:25:54] Thank you. [00:25:58] A quote from Charlie. He said he wanted [00:26:01] to be remembered most for his courage in [00:26:04] faith. So as honor to him, I offer this [00:26:07] song. [00:26:09] Sing the wonderous love of Jesus. [00:26:15] Sing his mercy and his grace. [00:26:19] In the manions, bright and blessed, [00:26:24] he'll prepare for us a place when we all [00:26:30] get to heaven. [00:26:32] What a day of rejoicing that will be [00:26:37] when we all see Jesus. [00:26:42] We'll sing and shout for victory. [00:26:47] Thank you. [00:27:09] [Music] [00:27:12] We're we're active in about 15 campuses [00:27:14] and we're growing very very quickly. And [00:27:16] keep in mind this is not just a flash in [00:27:18] the pan movement. Uh we're going to [00:27:19] become an institution to give them the [00:27:21] power and the confidence to stand up and [00:27:23] let their voice be heard. [00:27:24] >> I started this organization when I was [00:27:26] 18 years old. I decided uh not to go to [00:27:28] college. I didn't get in my dream school [00:27:29] which was the United States Military [00:27:31] Academy at West Point. I have this idea [00:27:32] to galvanize and motivate the future [00:27:34] youth of this country around a core set [00:27:36] of ideas, not just political parties or [00:27:38] politicians. And the ideas are really [00:27:40] America is the greatest country in the [00:27:41] history of the world. Constitution is [00:27:43] the greatest political document ever [00:27:44] written and free enterprise the most [00:27:45] assured way to lift people out of [00:27:46] poverty and create prosperity for all. [00:27:48] Those are the three big ideas. Um and I [00:27:50] think that's something that can win. [00:27:59] We as Christians are called to go into [00:28:01] the public arena to correct error with [00:28:05] truth. So I go to college campuses and [00:28:07] there's a lot of error. We're all [00:28:08] sinners. We all live in error. I'm far [00:28:10] more interested in what God wants of me [00:28:13] than what I want of from God. [00:28:14] >> I have to say this without getting [00:28:16] emotional, but I'm very proud of my [00:28:17] husband and I know many of you are too. [00:28:23] you have worked so hard and I know a lot [00:28:25] of you have seen obviously his videos on [00:28:28] Tik Tok and all the stuff he does on [00:28:30] campus but no one gets to see him from [00:28:34] my angle except for myself and our [00:28:36] children [00:28:41] [Music] [00:28:45] the best [00:28:46] >> and the sacrifices that he made this [00:28:49] year [00:28:51] he's amazing I'm very blessed And I I [00:28:53] would not have been able to do any of it [00:28:55] without Erica. And that's the real [00:28:56] truth. I'll tell you what. [00:29:00] You are here as a grassroots response to [00:29:03] the top down revolution happening in [00:29:05] this country. I want our Turning Point [00:29:07] USA students to receive a round of [00:29:09] applause. These are the freedom fighters [00:29:11] of America. [00:29:15] >> The media said that Turning Point could [00:29:17] never run a ground game. They weren't [00:29:19] experienced. They didn't know Charlie. [00:29:21] Right. This is the greatest generational [00:29:24] realignment since Woodstock. This [00:29:26] generation is the most conservative [00:29:28] generation that we have seen in well [00:29:30] over 50 years. And the numbers show it. [00:29:33] What young people especially are [00:29:35] screaming at is they say, "Give me a [00:29:39] structure that I can live my life by." [00:29:42] And especially with young men, more [00:29:44] challenging of them, more saying, "You [00:29:46] know what? Honestly, I'm not going to [00:29:47] talk down to you. Stop being a boy and [00:29:49] become a man. And you want to learn what [00:29:51] that means? Come to church and I'll tell [00:29:52] you what it means to become a man. Cuz [00:29:54] we have the greatest story ever told. [00:29:57] What can I do to save the country? You [00:29:59] answer that question every single day [00:30:01] because you are doing the work to save [00:30:04] this beautiful republic. You are doing [00:30:06] something that is bigger than you. [00:30:10] >> If everything [00:30:12] completely goes away, how do you want to [00:30:14] be remembered? [00:30:14] >> I want to be I want to be remembered for [00:30:16] for courage for my faith. That that [00:30:19] would be the most important thing. Most [00:30:20] important thing is my faith in my life. [00:30:28] [Music] [00:31:10] to you all gathered here this evening [00:31:13] just on behalf of the Catholic Newman [00:31:16] Center that serves ASU and uh so many [00:31:19] more of the Catholic community in I do [00:31:21] want to express to you all our sorrow [00:31:24] which is deep, our prayers, our support, [00:31:27] but I think especially our love. These [00:31:29] are difficult times for Christians and [00:31:31] it's important that we all draw [00:31:32] together. I have had several delightful [00:31:35] conversations with Charlie when he's [00:31:37] been on campus here at ASU. It seems to [00:31:40] me that there are in addition to his [00:31:42] wonderful attributes, three areas where [00:31:45] he really kind of shines and stands out. [00:31:47] Conversation would be number one. He was [00:31:50] able to do what many can't or want to [00:31:53] do. Have difficult conversations about [00:31:56] cultural matters. [00:31:59] An awareness of human dignity and [00:32:02] courage is what it takes to engage in [00:32:05] what he did. Secondly, he's tremendously [00:32:07] persuasive and that's a rare gift [00:32:09] because persuasion is always a civilized [00:32:12] approach when there's disagreement. But [00:32:14] there's been a disconnect with reason [00:32:17] that Charlie was keenly aware of today. [00:32:19] And it's this disconnect that has [00:32:21] largely led to many turning to violence [00:32:23] in the belief that it will solve their [00:32:25] problems. Snuff out the voice of reason. [00:32:29] Charlie's ability to reason enabled his [00:32:32] carism of persuasion. [00:32:35] And third, [00:32:37] a very touch the very touchstone of [00:32:39] every part of his life was his Lord and [00:32:42] Savior Jesus Christ. Everything he said [00:32:44] and did would find reference to Jesus [00:32:46] Christ. would that everyone could order [00:32:50] their lives as such. Charlie was a [00:32:52] fearless evangelizer to be sure and [00:32:55] we're starting to see the fruits of that [00:32:57] even now. How many of you went to church [00:32:58] yesterday and the place was packed? [00:33:01] >> Yeah. [00:33:06] [Music] [00:33:08] He fought the good fight and finished [00:33:11] the race. Conversation, persuasion, all [00:33:14] for Jesus Christ. Well, as it said, we [00:33:17] are all Charlie Kirk. Now, if you would [00:33:21] join me in prayer. [00:33:28] Heavenly Father, grant eternal rest, [00:33:30] light, and peace to your servant Charlie [00:33:32] who placed his trust in you. As he was [00:33:34] profoundly aware, Lord, help us to see [00:33:36] the humanity in each other. When we do [00:33:39] that, we can do no harm to one another [00:33:41] because we see the great dignity with [00:33:43] which we were created. Hear the cries of [00:33:46] those who have suffered from violence [00:33:48] and harm. Grant healing for their [00:33:50] bodies, minds, and spirits. Strengthen [00:33:52] them in hope in your everlasting [00:33:55] goodness and love. Be a refuge for the [00:33:58] lost, a gentle presence for the lonely, [00:34:01] a source of courage for us all. To our [00:34:04] oppressors and those who have committed [00:34:06] acts of violence, move them to [00:34:08] repentance, healing, a desire for [00:34:10] justice. Transform the hearts of those [00:34:12] who harbor hatred. replace it with the [00:34:14] spirit of your peace. Help us everyone [00:34:18] to follow the path of Jesus by drawing [00:34:22] good from evil, life from death, hope [00:34:24] from despair. [00:34:26] Strengthen us to build communities where [00:34:29] violence is no more, where love, [00:34:31] understanding, peace, faithfulness all [00:34:33] flourish. For you are good and gracious [00:34:36] and will only what is good for us. You [00:34:38] are Lord forever and ever. Amen. [00:34:43] Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and [00:34:45] let perpetual light shine upon him. May [00:34:48] his soul and the souls of all the [00:34:49] faithful departed through the mercy of [00:34:51] God rest in peace. Amen. And may the [00:34:54] Lord God Almighty bless all of us [00:34:56] gathered here today, protect us from all [00:34:59] evil, and bring us to everlasting life. [00:35:02] Amen. [00:36:12] Good evening everyone. I want to start [00:36:14] by thanking all of you for coming out [00:36:16] tonight, for showing up, and for [00:36:18] standing together. Seeing so many of you [00:36:21] here means so much, especially to the [00:36:23] students who worked incredibly hard to [00:36:24] make this possible. And it shows the [00:36:27] kind of love and support that words [00:36:29] can't fully capture. [00:36:32] When we lose someone who meant so much, [00:36:34] it's easy to feel heavy, to feel like [00:36:37] we're carrying it all on our own. But [00:36:39] tonight shows us that we're not alone. [00:36:42] We are here together, remembering [00:36:44] Charlie, grieving together, and honoring [00:36:47] his life in a way that I believe would [00:36:49] make him proud. [00:36:52] Charlie's story began right here at ASU. [00:36:55] And to see one of the largest vigils in [00:36:57] the nation take place on this campus is [00:36:59] powerful and meaningful. [00:37:02] It shows that what started here has [00:37:04] grown far and has touched people across [00:37:06] this great nation. [00:37:08] I ask that you guys either turn on the [00:37:11] candles that you have brought or take [00:37:12] out your flashlights at this time. [00:37:32] Charlie inspired people. He challenged [00:37:34] us. He pushed us to think bigger. And he [00:37:37] gave people a sense of belonging and [00:37:39] purpose. That is why tonight matters. [00:37:42] Because by holding these lights, we are [00:37:44] showing that his light has not gone out. [00:37:46] It lives on in the people he touched, in [00:37:49] the conversations he started, and in the [00:37:51] community gathered here tonight. [00:38:01] So, let us not only grieve, but also be [00:38:04] graceful. Grateful. Grateful for the [00:38:06] time we had with him, grateful for the [00:38:08] impact he made, and grateful for one [00:38:11] another. Because coming together like [00:38:13] this is how we carry his legacy forward. [00:38:16] On behalf of everyone here, thank you [00:38:18] again for being a part of this vigil, [00:38:20] for your love, your prayers, and your [00:38:22] presence. Together, we honor Charlie, [00:38:25] not just in memory, but in the way we [00:38:27] live and support each other moving [00:38:28] forward. To conclude, our vice [00:38:31] president, Armani Gonzalez, will share a [00:38:34] quote, and then we will pass it to the [00:38:35] college Republicans. Thank you. [00:38:38] [Applause] [00:38:45] [Applause] [00:38:47] So there's a quote that I would like to [00:38:49] share with all of you by CS Lewis. I [00:38:52] found it on Charlie's Twitter or axe [00:38:54] account a while ago and I think it's [00:38:56] very pertinent to that uh to this [00:38:58] moment. And the quote goes like this. To [00:39:02] be a Christian means to forgive the [00:39:03] inexcusable because God has forgiven the [00:39:07] inexcusable in you. [00:39:10] Thank you. [00:39:13] [Applause] [00:39:20] My name is Troy Holderby. I am the [00:39:22] president of the College Republicans at [00:39:23] Arizona State University. [00:39:25] [Applause] [00:39:34] I want to thank the university president [00:39:36] Michael Crowe, Senator Jake Hoffman, and [00:39:39] the millions and all of you who work so [00:39:41] hard to make this vigil happen. Thank [00:39:43] you. [00:39:44] [Applause] [00:39:50] >> Real quick, I'd like us to do a quick [00:39:52] experiment. If Charlie Kirk had an [00:39:53] impact on your life, can we hear you, [00:39:55] please? [00:40:08] Heat. Heat. [00:40:18] Heat. Heat. [00:40:31] [Applause] [00:40:55] The truth, the truth is that Charlie [00:40:58] impacted us all if it was meeting in [00:41:01] person, hearing him fearlessly debate, [00:41:04] and participating in one of his chase [00:41:05] the vote events. [00:41:08] Charlie made a difference in this fallen [00:41:09] world. A lot of us felt many emotions [00:41:12] when he was assassinated mercilessly and [00:41:16] cruy [00:41:18] and they took his beautiful life and it [00:41:20] was beautiful. He had a beautiful [00:41:22] family, wonderful friends and on all [00:41:25] accounts was one of the kindest, most [00:41:27] generous persons you could have ever met [00:41:30] in everyday life. [00:41:34] That's why we felt these emotions. We [00:41:36] felt sadness. [00:41:38] A lot of us felt many emotions when we s [00:41:41] pardon me. That's why we felt these [00:41:44] emotions. We felt sadness. We felt [00:41:46] anger. We felt hopelessness as we [00:41:48] watched glued to our TVs or phones [00:41:51] waiting for good news that never came. [00:41:54] As we feared the worst had happened. [00:41:57] I felt rage. Jonathan spoke to you about [00:42:00] hope, about continuing on. [00:42:03] And that's something we must cling to. [00:42:05] But as Steven Miller said today, we have [00:42:07] to find an outlet for anger. And anger [00:42:10] is okay. God himself had righteous [00:42:13] anger. But we have to turn that [00:42:15] righteous anger into action. Hearing [00:42:18] Erica Kirk speak, a woman who had her [00:42:20] soulmate ripped from her, she had one [00:42:22] thing to tell us. Turn that anger into [00:42:25] action. Use that anger to make the world [00:42:27] a better place. [00:42:30] [Applause] [00:42:40] Let it fuel you. If you're mad about [00:42:43] Charlie Kirk's assassination, good. [00:42:45] Ghosts are a turning point chapter. If [00:42:48] you are mad about Charlie Kirk's [00:42:49] assassination, good. Go register voters. [00:42:52] If you are mad about Charlie Kirk's [00:42:54] assassination, good. Share the gospel of [00:42:56] our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with [00:42:58] all your friends and family. [00:43:08] [Applause] [00:43:10] As that anger leaves us though, we [00:43:12] cannot forget Charlie's death. We can [00:43:15] forgive his shooter, which is a [00:43:16] difficult thing to do. We can forgive [00:43:19] the people who celebrated his death, [00:43:21] which is equally difficult. But forever [00:43:23] more, we must work with this week in [00:43:26] mind. work because we don't have to win [00:43:28] for us, but we have to win for our [00:43:31] enemies so that together they and we can [00:43:34] live in a safe, prosperous, loving [00:43:36] America. Thank you. [00:43:48] [Applause] [00:43:56] [Applause] [00:44:02] [Applause] [00:44:45] Good evening. [00:44:46] I would like to begin by reading a [00:44:48] passage from Psalm 94. [00:44:53] The Lord is a God who avenges. Oh God [00:44:56] who avenges, shine forth. Rise up, judge [00:44:59] of the earth. Pay back to the proud what [00:45:01] they deserve. [00:45:03] How long, Lord, will the wicked? How [00:45:05] long will the wicked be jubilant? They [00:45:08] pour out arrogant words. All the [00:45:10] evildoers are full of boasting. They [00:45:13] crush your people, Lord. They oppress [00:45:15] your inheritance. They slay the widow [00:45:18] and the foreigner. They murder the [00:45:20] fatherless. They say, "The Lord does not [00:45:23] see. The God of Jacob takes no notice. [00:45:28] Take notice, you senseless ones among [00:45:30] the people. You fools, when will you [00:45:34] become wise? [00:45:36] Does he who fashion the ear not hear? [00:45:39] Does he who form the eye not see? Does [00:45:42] he who disciplines nations not punish? [00:45:45] Does he who teaches mankind lack [00:45:47] knowledge? [00:45:49] The Lord knows all human plans. He knows [00:45:52] that they are futile. Blessed is the one [00:45:55] you discipline, Lord. The one you teach [00:45:57] from the law. You grant them relief from [00:46:01] days of trouble till a pit is dug for [00:46:03] the wicked. For the Lord will not reject [00:46:05] his people. He will never forsake his [00:46:08] inheritance. Judgment will again be [00:46:10] founded on righteousness and all the [00:46:12] upright in heart will follow it. Who [00:46:15] will rise up for me against the wicked? [00:46:17] Who will stand up for me against [00:46:19] evildoers? [00:46:20] Un unless the Lord had given me help, I [00:46:23] would soon have dwelt in the silence of [00:46:25] death. When I said, "My foot is [00:46:28] slipping." Your unfailing love, Lord, [00:46:30] supported me. When anxiety was great [00:46:33] within me, your consolation brought me [00:46:35] joy. Can a corrupt throne be allied with [00:46:38] you, a throne that brings on misery by [00:46:40] its decrees? The wicked band together [00:46:43] against the righteous and condemned the [00:46:45] innocent to death. [00:46:48] But the Lord has become my fortress, and [00:46:51] my God, the rock in whom I take refuge. [00:46:54] He will repay them for their sins and [00:46:56] destroy them for their wickedness. The [00:46:58] Lord our God will destroy them. [00:47:04] [Applause] [00:47:10] My name is Sydney Gilland and I am the [00:47:13] former Turning Point USA president here [00:47:15] at a Arizona State University from [00:47:17] February 24 to May 25. [00:47:20] [Applause] [00:47:23] Thank you. [00:47:24] I've since gone on to work for Turning [00:47:26] Point Action very happily. [00:47:29] I would like to quickly say thank you to [00:47:31] each and every one of you out here this [00:47:33] evening. I know Charlie's family, [00:47:35] Charlie's friends, and even his staff [00:47:38] greatly appreciate it. [00:47:40] My first major event for Turning Point [00:47:42] was America Fest of 2023. And if you [00:47:45] don't know, Ampfest is the largest [00:47:46] annual conservative event. And if you [00:47:49] haven't bought your tickets for Amfest [00:47:50] 25, I suggest you go do so because this [00:47:53] year will be the biggest and best one [00:47:54] yet. [00:47:56] [Applause] [00:48:03] But I remember my first Amfest and [00:48:05] afterwards I said to my mother, "Mom, I [00:48:09] think I can do this for the rest of my [00:48:10] life. Ever since, I've done everything [00:48:13] to push myself out of my comfort zone. [00:48:16] Obviously, [00:48:18] changed my perspective on opposing [00:48:20] opinions, and I've made it my goal to, [00:48:22] as Charlie Kirk would say, make heaven [00:48:24] crowded. [00:48:27] [Applause] [00:48:34] Charlie Kirk has been a friend, a [00:48:36] leader, and an inspiration to me and I'm [00:48:39] sure all of you ever since the first [00:48:41] time we saw him on our silver screens, [00:48:43] on our college or high school campuses, [00:48:45] or anywhere else he may have been. So, [00:48:48] let me be clear. [00:48:50] Charlie Kirk will forever live in our [00:48:52] hearts, in our minds, but most of all, [00:48:55] in the history of our nation. It is [00:48:58] moments like these that I know that I am [00:49:00] on the right side of history. This fight [00:49:02] will not die with him. I can promise [00:49:05] you. [00:49:09] Thank you. [00:49:12] [Applause] [00:49:40] That was amazing. [00:49:42] I'm Owen Anderson. I'm a professor here [00:49:45] at ASU, a professor of philosophy, and [00:49:48] I'm so proud of ASU for making this [00:49:51] possible and for being so generous with [00:49:54] providing us with this stadium to meet [00:49:56] in. and everything we needed. I'm the [00:49:58] faculty advisor for the TPUSA student [00:50:01] club. And [00:50:10] yeah, they're great. You just saw some [00:50:12] of them. They're great. And uh as pulled [00:50:15] up. Yep. A little bit taller. [00:50:18] Is that better? [00:50:21] My philosophy classes aren't usually [00:50:23] this big. [00:50:26] I loved watching Charlie Kirk debate. [00:50:29] Wasn't he great? [00:50:37] I want to share three things with you. [00:50:40] First, as a philosopher, [00:50:43] I believe that Charlie is the American [00:50:45] Socrates. [00:50:47] He came to university campuses across [00:50:50] the nation and he would set up a tent [00:50:53] and he would debate anybody who wanted [00:50:55] to debate. Any question that they wanted [00:50:58] to ask him, he would debate. And I'm not [00:51:01] saying he was always right, but he was [00:51:03] always compelling. He'd always have a [00:51:04] case. He'd always give an argument. And [00:51:07] the the students loved him. We know that [00:51:09] because he's all over social media. And [00:51:12] that means not just the students that [00:51:14] agreed with him, but the students who [00:51:16] disagreed with him couldn't wait to go [00:51:17] out and try to prove him wrong. They had [00:51:20] a lot of fun trying to do that. Now, I [00:51:22] don't know they were ever successful, [00:51:24] but he especially liked to debate with [00:51:26] students that disagree with him. And [00:51:29] like Socrates, he faced the sophists. [00:51:33] And that's because what he did was to [00:51:36] expose that much of the ideology being [00:51:40] taught in our universities is false and [00:51:43] harmful. [00:51:55] [Applause] [00:51:56] Yep. Yep. And he showed that our [00:51:59] universities were no longer places of [00:52:01] open debate. They become places where [00:52:04] one ideology is forced into classrooms [00:52:07] and it's made unquestionable. [00:52:12] [Applause] [00:52:17] But Charlie changed that, didn't he? [00:52:20] He he went to he went to campuses and he [00:52:22] questioned that ideology and he did what [00:52:24] the professors were supposed to do. the [00:52:26] professors that were supposed to teach [00:52:27] the students how to analyze arguments, [00:52:30] how to build a case with premises that [00:52:31] support a conclusion. He did that and he [00:52:35] exposed the unexamined life that was [00:52:37] going on in many classes. [00:52:43] Because of that, because of that [00:52:44] challenge, he often faced opposition and [00:52:48] opposition from universities or faculty [00:52:50] who called him names and didn't want him [00:52:52] to speak on campus. But what he wanted [00:52:54] and what he exemplified for our students [00:52:56] was that we should lead the examined [00:52:58] life. And he reminded students to [00:53:01] question and learn to think for [00:53:02] themselves. [00:53:04] He gave them a place where the common [00:53:06] ground of using reason to make arguments [00:53:09] and debate was available for everybody. [00:53:12] And that's what our university should be [00:53:13] like. We must make sure that continues, [00:53:17] that happens. And [00:53:28] [Applause] [00:53:31] our our students [00:53:33] and to the students here, always [00:53:35] question. Always ask your professors if [00:53:38] they know or if they're only giving [00:53:40] their own opinions. [00:53:42] And second, as a parent, I want to [00:53:44] provide a culture where my children are [00:53:46] safe. They're able to pursue their [00:53:48] dreams and strive after excellence. And [00:53:50] I believe Charlie Kirk was an example of [00:53:52] that. Many of them looked to him and [00:53:54] they thought if Charlie can do that, I [00:53:56] should try to do that also. He was a [00:53:58] role model and he showed them the [00:54:00] importance of being aware of cultural [00:54:02] debates, learning the issues and being [00:54:04] ready to debate them. And so it's [00:54:06] inspiring to see the young the young [00:54:09] children, middle school, high schoolers [00:54:11] signing up for TPUSA for their campus, [00:54:14] wanting to be involved. And that's [00:54:16] something that Charlie provided them [00:54:18] with, an example that I hope continues. [00:54:21] And so to parents here, you need to see [00:54:24] the challenges that our universities [00:54:26] present to your children. Prepare your [00:54:28] children to make a difference in the [00:54:30] world by shining the light of truth in [00:54:32] these dark places and prepare them for [00:54:35] the kinds of false ideologies they're [00:54:37] going to encounter so they're ready to [00:54:39] refute them. And for the kids here, [00:54:43] [Applause] [00:54:51] For the kids that are here still in [00:54:52] middle school or high school, use your [00:54:54] time to learn about these issues. Look [00:54:58] at look at how Charlie modeled that for [00:54:59] you, how he modeled a debate. And be [00:55:01] ready to do that when you're at [00:55:03] university. If you decide that [00:55:04] university is the path for you, I'm [00:55:06] looking forward to learning with you. [00:55:07] And then finally, as a Christian, [00:55:10] I will always remember Charlie's [00:55:13] courage. And you saw the video earlier. [00:55:15] We've all seen it. He wanted to remember [00:55:17] for the courage of his faith. I think [00:55:19] sometimes we forget that courage is [00:55:21] love. It's loving to go to universities [00:55:24] and present the truth. And we need to [00:55:26] have both courage and love as we present [00:55:28] the faith of the gospel to students who [00:55:32] need Christ more than ever. [00:55:35] [Applause] [00:55:46] So, I know we'll continue to speak with [00:55:48] courage and love against these [00:55:50] falsehoods and present the gospel [00:55:52] faithfully because true freedom is only [00:55:54] found in Christ. [00:55:56] Thank you. [00:56:05] [Applause] [00:56:11] [Applause] [00:56:30] [Applause] [00:56:46] Good afternoon. [00:56:48] My name is Anthony Watson. I'm one of [00:56:50] Charlie's contributors. And I know that [00:56:55] over these past couple of days, we've [00:56:56] had a lot of questions that have been [00:56:58] unanswered. a lot of emotions that [00:57:00] everyone's been dealing with and now [00:57:03] everyone is asking the big question, [00:57:05] what's next? [00:57:07] But I'm here to tell you, it's not [00:57:09] what's happening next. The question that [00:57:12] needs answering now is who's next. [00:57:16] Look at what happened when one person [00:57:19] who was willing to stand against [00:57:21] everything that opposed him for the [00:57:23] truth, the reaction that he's caused. [00:57:27] One of my favorite pastors, a pastor [00:57:29] from Romania, said that even when you [00:57:30] trample on a rose, it rewards you with [00:57:32] its perfume. So does the gospel and its [00:57:36] progression when one of its saints is [00:57:37] taken from us. [00:57:46] So Erica, [00:57:48] my condolences to you. Your husband was [00:57:50] a fantastic man. Charlie, to your [00:57:53] daughter, thank you for being an example [00:57:55] to her of what a man to lead and submit [00:57:58] to looks like. To your son, thank you [00:58:01] for being an example to him and to [00:58:03] myself and to men everywhere of what a [00:58:05] man humbled by the gospel needs to lead. [00:58:08] Like [00:58:12] [Applause] [00:58:16] all of us are here [00:58:19] mourning and angry and sad because of [00:58:21] the evil that we face in this world. But [00:58:24] here's the truth that we need to be [00:58:25] reminded of tonight. Evil doesn't win. [00:58:29] It doesn't. [00:58:32] And if we know that evil doesn't win, [00:58:34] we're sad for a moment, but we push on. [00:58:38] We motivate ourselves to continue [00:58:40] because that's what Charlie wants. When [00:58:42] one person falls, another person steps [00:58:44] in. When one person falls behind, [00:58:46] another person steps up. So the question [00:58:47] that I have is, who's next? Who's next? [00:58:51] Who's it going to be? [00:58:57] The reason Charlie [00:58:59] was so filled with conviction, the [00:59:01] reason Charlie was filled with passion [00:59:04] were for three words. Jesus is king. [00:59:14] And now I want to ask all of you, do you [00:59:17] guys know my king? Do you know my king? [00:59:21] Let me tell you about my king. My king [00:59:23] is the king of kings. My king is the [00:59:26] king of the ages. My king is the king of [00:59:28] heaven. My king is the lord of lords. [00:59:32] He, my king, is a sovereign king. No [00:59:34] means of measure can define his [00:59:36] limitless love. His enduringly strong. [00:59:38] He is entirely sincere. He's eternally [00:59:41] steadfast. He's immortally graceful. [00:59:44] He's imperially powerful. He's [00:59:46] impartially merciful. He's the greatest [00:59:49] phenomenon that has ever crossed the [00:59:51] horizon of the world. He's God's son. [00:59:53] He's the sinner's savior. He's the [00:59:56] centerpiece of civilization. He's [00:59:58] unparalleled. He's unprecedented. He's [01:00:01] the loftiest idea in literature. He's [01:00:03] the highest personality in philosophy. [01:00:06] He's the fundamental doctrine of true [01:00:08] theology. He's the only one qualified to [01:00:11] be the allsufficient savior. He supplies [01:00:14] strength to the weak. He's available to [01:00:17] the tempted and the tried. He [01:00:19] sympathizes and he saves. He strengthens [01:00:22] and he sustains. He guards and he [01:00:24] guides. He heals the sick. He cleans the [01:00:28] leopard. He forgives sinners. He [01:00:30] discharges debtors. He delivers the [01:00:32] captive. He defends the feeble. He [01:00:35] blesses the young. He serves the [01:00:37] unfortunate. He regards the age. He [01:00:39] rewards the diligent. He's beautiful to [01:00:42] the meek. He's the key to knowledge. [01:00:44] He's the wellspring of wisdom. He's the [01:00:47] doorway of deliverance. He's the pathway [01:00:50] of peace. He's the roadway of [01:00:52] righteousness. He's the highway of [01:00:54] holiness. He's the gateway of godliness. [01:00:57] His life is matchless. His goodness is [01:01:00] limitless. His mercy everlasting. His [01:01:03] love never changes. His words are [01:01:05] enough. His grace is sufficient. His [01:01:08] reign is eternal. His yoke is easy. And [01:01:11] his burden is light. I wish I could [01:01:14] describe him, but he's indescribable. [01:01:16] He's incomprehensible. [01:01:18] He's invincible. He's irresistible. You [01:01:21] can't get him out of your mind. He's [01:01:23] written. You're written on the palm of [01:01:24] his hands. You can't outlive him and you [01:01:27] can't live without him. When the [01:01:29] Pharisees found him, they couldn't stand [01:01:31] him. But then they realized that they [01:01:33] couldn't stop him. F Pilate couldn't [01:01:36] find any fault in him. Herod couldn't [01:01:38] kill him. Death couldn't handle him. And [01:01:40] the grave couldn't hold him. That is the [01:01:42] God that I serve. That is the God that [01:01:44] runs our country. That is the God that [01:01:46] Charlie fight for. So Charlie, in your [01:01:49] memory, I make my declaration here [01:01:52] before you and the beautiful state of [01:01:54] Arizona to fight for the truth, to stand [01:01:57] when nobody else will, to keep pushing [01:01:59] when everyone has stopped, for my [01:02:01] country, for my savior, and for this [01:02:03] beautiful place that we call the United [01:02:05] States of America. God bless you all. [01:02:42] My my [01:02:46] >> goodness gracious. [01:02:48] >> That's what it's all about. [01:02:50] >> And I know right now we're going through [01:02:53] some trying times. I know we're going [01:02:55] through some tumultuous times. I know [01:02:58] we're going through some dark times. But [01:03:00] at the end of the day, it's always [01:03:02] darkness before the light. [01:03:04] It's always darkness before the light. [01:03:09] These people have no idea what they've [01:03:11] awakened within us. They have no clue. [01:03:15] No clue. [01:03:18] Not just here in America, but all over [01:03:22] the world. [01:03:25] The legacy of Charlie will live on. [01:03:29] It's unbelievable. You know, I have a so [01:03:33] a set of scriptures that I like to live [01:03:34] my life by. I like to measure myself by. [01:03:37] And it's a set of scriptures that I put [01:03:39] this mirror up to Charlie to see how he [01:03:42] measured up. And he measured up just [01:03:45] fine. [01:03:46] Just fine. [01:03:49] Second Timothy 4:es 2-5. [01:03:52] And it reads, "Preach the word. Be [01:03:55] prepared in season and out of season. [01:03:57] correct, rebuke, and encourage with [01:04:01] great patience and careful instruction. [01:04:03] For the time will come when people will [01:04:06] not put up a sound doctrine. Instead, to [01:04:10] suit their own desires, they will gather [01:04:13] around them a great number of teachers [01:04:14] to say what their itching ears want to [01:04:16] hear. They will turn away from the truth [01:04:20] and turn aside to myths. But you keep [01:04:24] your head in all situations, endure [01:04:28] hardship, do the work of an evangelist, [01:04:31] discharge all the duties of your [01:04:32] ministry. [01:04:34] I take great solace [01:04:36] in these scriptures. [01:04:39] And I look at that and I look at [01:04:40] Charlie's life and I see how they [01:04:43] compare. Preach the word. Be com be uh [01:04:46] uh ready in season and out of season. [01:04:49] This is what we're supposed to do. And [01:04:50] when you look at Charlie, whenever he [01:04:52] went to these college campuses, all he [01:04:54] did, all he did was preach the gospel of [01:04:57] Jesus Christ. That's it. [01:05:00] That's it. [01:05:04] He was prepared in season and out of [01:05:06] season. He was prepared at all times. [01:05:08] And ladies and gentlemen, we have to be [01:05:10] prepared at all times, too. We have to [01:05:12] have a a an answer for our hope in Jesus [01:05:15] Christ. And we have to be prepared to [01:05:18] give that at a moment's notice. [01:05:20] This is what we must do. Preach the [01:05:23] word. Be prepared in season and out of [01:05:25] season. Correct. Rebuke and encourage. [01:05:28] Oh, Charlie did that very well. Very [01:05:30] well. He corrected the misinformation. [01:05:34] He rebuked the lies and encouraged [01:05:37] others to stand in truth, walk in truth, [01:05:39] live in truth. [01:05:42] This is what we must do. And I am so I [01:05:46] I'm I'm happy to be able to see that [01:05:48] within Charlie's life correcting, [01:05:50] rebuking, and encouraging. [01:05:53] For the time will come when people will [01:05:55] not put up a sound doctrine. Instead, to [01:05:58] suit their own desires, they will gather [01:06:00] around them a great number of teachers [01:06:02] to say what their itching ears want to [01:06:03] hear. They will turn away from the truth [01:06:06] and turn aside to myths. Ladies and [01:06:07] gentlemen, we live in a day and age [01:06:09] where people want to be affirmed in [01:06:12] their delusions of grandeur. They want [01:06:14] to be affirmed in their sin. They want [01:06:17] to be affirmed in their wickedness. They [01:06:19] want to be affirmed in their evil. We [01:06:21] can't give them that. We can't give them [01:06:24] affirmations. [01:06:25] We give them Jesus Christ. That's what [01:06:27] we give them. [01:06:30] That's what we're supposed to do. [01:06:34] We can't affirm these people's sin and [01:06:38] their sinful lifestyles and the sinful [01:06:40] ideology that is so antithetical to the [01:06:43] B IB L E the basic instructions before [01:06:46] leaving earth. We have to keep these [01:06:49] people and and bring them into the fold [01:06:51] of who Jesus wants them to be. [01:06:56] But you keep your head in all [01:07:00] situations. [01:07:02] Now, Charlie, [01:07:04] boy, oh boy. I I think whenever we'd [01:07:06] watch these videos, we would get angry [01:07:08] for Charlie. [01:07:11] Boy, the way they would malign his name, [01:07:14] slander his name. They're doing that [01:07:17] right now. See, they couldn't defeat him [01:07:19] on the free marketplace of ideas and the [01:07:22] battlefield of ideas. They couldn't beat [01:07:23] him there. So, they had to murder him. [01:07:25] And then when he's dead, now they want [01:07:28] to go ahead and slander and malign this [01:07:30] man. [01:07:32] We must take up the mantle and stand in [01:07:35] the gap for a man who stood in the gap [01:07:37] for us. [01:07:39] This is what we must do. [01:07:42] That's our job. That's our task. [01:07:45] [Applause] [01:07:50] We are Charlie Kirk. [01:08:04] This is what we got to do, ladies and [01:08:06] gentlemen. At the end of the day, we are [01:08:09] called to endure hardship. That means [01:08:12] we're going to go through it. It's not a [01:08:14] maybe sort of kind of maybe. It's endure [01:08:18] it. We must endure the hardship that's [01:08:21] going to come our way. and it's going to [01:08:24] happen. But you have to be a good [01:08:26] soldier of Jesus Christ. And when it [01:08:29] comes to Charlie, he was exactly that. [01:08:31] He died in the full armor of God. He had [01:08:35] his Ephesians 6 armor on. He died with [01:08:39] it on, baby. He died right on the [01:08:40] battlefield. [01:08:42] And the thing is about the full armor of [01:08:44] God is it's not supposed to protect your [01:08:46] body. It protects your soul. [01:08:50] And that's the thing about this full [01:08:51] armor that we got to be shaw with when [01:08:54] it comes to the the the the the feet [01:08:56] that are shaw with the preparation of [01:08:58] peace, the preparation of the gospel of [01:09:01] Jesus Christ. When it comes to the [01:09:04] breastplate of righteousness that guards [01:09:06] our heart, [01:09:08] the helmet of salvation that guards our [01:09:11] minds, the belt of truth that keeps this [01:09:15] whole ensemble together, and we go to [01:09:18] war with our shield of faith to [01:09:21] withstand all the fiery darts of the [01:09:23] enemy. And we fight back with the word [01:09:26] of God, which is the sword of the [01:09:28] spirit. And at the end of the day, I [01:09:31] hope we can all be as fortunate as [01:09:33] Charlie to die and be carried to [01:09:37] paradise on our shield. On our shield of [01:09:40] faith, carried on to paradise. That's [01:09:43] the any warrior's dream. And we must [01:09:47] aspire for the same thing. Ladies and [01:09:50] gentlemen, it's time for us to rise. [01:09:54] It's all time. It's all time. [01:09:58] We can't sit down. We can't be quiet. We [01:10:01] can't stand idly by as souls go to hell [01:10:05] and as our country goes to hell with it. [01:10:08] We must stand for our country. We must [01:10:10] stand for our countrymen. This is what [01:10:12] we must do. This is what we are called [01:10:13] to do. We're supposed to love each other [01:10:15] as ourselves. Let's embody the same [01:10:18] traits and the same attributes as [01:10:20] Charlie Kirk did. Let us stand for our [01:10:23] fallen fallen brother as he has stood [01:10:26] for us. Listen, I just want to give a [01:10:27] couple more thoughts real quick. [01:10:30] When it comes to Charlie Kirk, [01:10:33] the way we thank him is by living out [01:10:37] what he espoused and getting people to [01:10:39] realize what he espoused and how it's [01:10:41] beneficial for us as Americans and as [01:10:45] Christians. [01:10:47] Some of his quotes were, "Tell someone [01:10:49] about Jesus this week." [01:10:52] Tell someone about Jesus this week. [01:10:55] Why not? [01:10:58] Get married, have kids, stop partying [01:11:01] into oblivion. Uh-oh. [01:11:03] Uh-oh. [01:11:06] Come on now. [01:11:09] Find time to read the Bible every day. [01:11:14] Every day. [01:11:16] Every day. [01:11:17] As someone who works out, it's all about [01:11:19] the reps. It's all about the sets. So [01:11:22] you got to get the reps and sets when it [01:11:24] comes to the B IBLE E. We got to get our [01:11:27] spiritual strength up. This is what we [01:11:30] must do. Western civilization is worth [01:11:33] dying for and worth fighting for. [01:11:37] Yes, it is. And as we seen with Charlie [01:11:40] Kirk, [01:11:42] yes it is. [01:11:44] So Charlie has left us with a clear set [01:11:46] of instructions to read our Bible, to [01:11:49] evangelize the gospel, to get married [01:11:50] and have kids, and fight for America. [01:11:53] How about that for an idea? How about [01:11:55] that? [01:11:57] We need you to go out there and do that. [01:12:02] At the end of the day, that's what it's [01:12:04] all about, ladies and gentlemen. Let us [01:12:05] all stand for Charlie Kirk. Let us all [01:12:09] stand for our country. Let us all stand [01:12:11] as we know we should. Let us be the [01:12:14] bastions of beacon and beacons of hope [01:12:17] within our country. Let's set a revival [01:12:19] in this country. Let this set this [01:12:21] country on fire for Jesus Christ. That's [01:12:24] what it's all about. This is how we [01:12:26] honor his legacy. [01:12:28] God bless y'all. God bless the United [01:12:31] States of America. God bless Charlie [01:12:33] Kirk and his family. Let's go. [01:13:24] Good evening. [01:13:27] My name is Peter Gentala. I have the [01:13:29] privilege of serving as the president of [01:13:31] the Center for Arizona Policy. [01:13:34] [Applause] [01:13:41] I came here tonight because I had a [01:13:42] chance to say something about Charlie [01:13:49] and I also figured ASU I have a chance [01:13:51] to say something about you. [01:13:56] First, [01:13:58] when I think about Charlie, [01:14:00] I've got one word that comes to mind. [01:14:05] Ready. [01:14:08] Ready. Charlie Kirk was ready. [01:14:12] He was ready to talk about ideas. [01:14:16] He was ready with his smile. [01:14:19] He was ready to listen. [01:14:23] He was ready to sweat in the Phoenix [01:14:25] heat with a few thousand friends. [01:14:30] He was ready to look you in the eyes. He [01:14:33] was ready to make you laugh. [01:14:36] He was ready to hear points of view that [01:14:39] he just didn't agree with. [01:14:42] He was ready to argue his case and hear [01:14:44] other people argue their case. [01:14:48] He was ready to change minds [01:14:51] and he was ready to change his mind to [01:14:54] be persuaded by a different point of [01:14:56] view. [01:14:57] And that did happen. It's on video. I [01:15:00] saw it. [01:15:04] He was ready to stand for truth over [01:15:07] falsehood, good over evil, [01:15:10] beauty over ugliness. And he was ready [01:15:14] to affirm that we, all of us in this [01:15:17] room, can know the difference between [01:15:19] those categories. [01:15:22] He was ready to affirm that every life [01:15:24] matters. He was ready to show that [01:15:26] politics [01:15:28] is about people. It's always about [01:15:30] people. [01:15:32] He was ready to love his neighbor as [01:15:34] himself. [01:15:35] He was ready to answer the call of his [01:15:38] country. [01:15:40] He was ready to put in the work [01:15:44] to make America great again. [01:15:47] [Applause] [01:15:56] He was ready to build and lead a [01:15:59] movement, but at the same time, at the [01:16:02] same time, he was ready for family. [01:16:09] He was ready to be a dad [01:16:13] who was there for his children. [01:16:16] He was ready to be a best friend for his [01:16:18] wife. [01:16:20] He was ready to show that children are a [01:16:22] gift from the Lord. And he was ready to [01:16:24] hug his children and ready to serve his [01:16:26] wife. [01:16:29] He was ready to share his faith. [01:16:32] He was ready to tell everyone [01:16:35] about Jesus [01:16:37] several times. [01:16:40] [Applause] [01:16:46] [Applause] [01:16:49] He was ready to give his life. [01:16:52] And maybe the most important ready, he [01:16:56] was ready to meet God. [01:16:59] [Applause] [01:17:06] In short, I think Charlie [01:17:11] was here to teach us what the word ready [01:17:13] means. [01:17:16] Now, let's talk about you. [01:17:20] When I think about you, [01:17:24] I think about the word ready. [01:17:28] You too are ready. [01:17:33] Now, here's a distinction. [01:17:36] There's a difference [01:17:39] between feeling ready and being ready. [01:17:44] There's a difference between feeling [01:17:46] ready and being ready. [01:17:50] The most important things that I've ever [01:17:52] done in my life, I didn't feel ready to [01:17:54] do them. [01:17:56] I didn't feel ready to be a husband, but [01:17:59] I was. [01:18:01] I didn't feel ready to be a dad, but I [01:18:04] was. [01:18:06] The new parents in the room, you know [01:18:08] what it's like the first time you pull [01:18:09] away from the hospital? You think, are [01:18:12] they going to trust me with this baby? [01:18:17] I didn't feel ready the first time I [01:18:19] told someone about Jesus, [01:18:21] but I was. [01:18:24] So, when we talk about your readiness, [01:18:27] don't get distracted by whether you feel [01:18:29] ready. [01:18:31] There's a big difference between being [01:18:32] ready and feeling ready. [01:18:36] I think Charlie knew that. And that's [01:18:37] why he was always ready. Like Charlie, [01:18:41] you can be ready to stand for the truth. [01:18:45] Like Charlie, you can be ready to affirm [01:18:48] that every life matters. [01:18:52] [Applause] [01:19:03] Every person is precious, valuable, [01:19:06] created in the image of God, deserving [01:19:09] of being welcomed in life and protected [01:19:11] in the law. [01:19:15] Like Charlie, you can be ready to love [01:19:18] the person in front of you [01:19:22] more than the disagreement you have with [01:19:24] that person. [01:19:26] [Applause] [01:19:31] [Music] [01:19:34] I got a lot of text messages last week [01:19:37] on that horrible day, but you know, the [01:19:38] one that was the most healing for me, it [01:19:41] was from my best friend who's a [01:19:42] progressive. [01:19:44] He doesn't agree with Charlie on much of [01:19:46] anything, but he checked in on me and [01:19:48] told me he loved me. [01:19:52] Like Charlie, you're ready to put family [01:19:55] first. [01:19:58] There's a sad fact that right now over [01:20:00] half of the children in our state are [01:20:02] not being raised in a home with their [01:20:04] mom and their dad. [01:20:07] You can change that. [01:20:09] You can make sure that your children [01:20:12] beat those odds. [01:20:15] [Applause] [01:20:24] You can get married. [01:20:26] You can make sure that your children [01:20:28] have the security and hope for the [01:20:30] future grounded in your lifetime [01:20:32] commitments. You can be there together [01:20:34] for your children. [01:20:37] [Applause] [01:20:45] Like Charlie, [01:20:47] you can be ready to acknowledge [01:20:52] that you need a savior. [01:20:56] A wise friend told me yesterday that [01:20:59] maybe the reason why death and grief [01:21:01] hurt so bad is because it it wasn't [01:21:04] supposed to be this way. [01:21:06] We know that we all die, but we all also [01:21:10] know something's wrong with that. It's [01:21:12] not supposed to be that way. And the [01:21:15] Bible teaches us that it wasn't that way [01:21:17] originally and that it was sin that [01:21:20] brought death into the world. [01:21:23] You know, Jesus taught us how to pray, [01:21:26] but I'm only aware of one place where he [01:21:28] commended a particular prayer, [01:21:31] where he commended the prayer of someone [01:21:33] else. And the prayer that he loves so [01:21:37] much was seven words long, just a [01:21:40] seven-word prayer. You know what that [01:21:41] prayer was? [01:21:44] Lord, [01:21:46] be merciful to me a sinner. [01:21:51] Like Charlie, you can be ready to meet [01:21:53] God. [01:21:55] Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and [01:21:57] the life. Whoever believes in me, though [01:22:01] he die, yet shall he live. [01:22:04] And everyone who believes in me shall [01:22:07] never die." [01:22:08] Now, what is the resurrecting belief in [01:22:11] Jesus? How does it happen? When does it [01:22:15] happen? I give you one example from the [01:22:17] Bible. When Jesus died, he was crucified [01:22:21] in between two men who were criminals. [01:22:24] The thief on either side on the cross. [01:22:28] One thief just mocked Jesus. [01:22:30] The other thief [01:22:32] looked at Jesus and said, "Lord, [01:22:36] remember me when you come into your [01:22:38] kingdom." And Jesus said to him, "Today [01:22:43] you will be with me in paradise. [01:22:47] Imagine [01:22:48] [Applause] [01:22:57] the conversation [01:22:59] that that man had [01:23:04] at the pearly gates. Why are you here? [01:23:07] You go to church? [01:23:13] Have you told anybody about Jesus? Do [01:23:16] you read your Bible? [01:23:18] Did you pray every day? [01:23:23] He said the only thing that he could [01:23:25] have said, [01:23:27] "I'm here because the man on the middle [01:23:31] cross said I could come." [01:23:35] [Applause] [01:23:43] Let me close by just saying I feel like [01:23:45] we've been watching an incredible [01:23:47] athletic contest when we think about [01:23:48] Charlie's life. [01:23:50] A wonderful athlete, so superb in [01:23:53] everything he did, so dominant that we [01:23:55] all just wanted to watch him no matter [01:23:56] what. And then we were shocked last week [01:24:01] when he finished his race. [01:24:07] When a great man dies, it's not just [01:24:12] public, it's personal. And I felt like [01:24:16] when Charlie died, it was as if as if he [01:24:19] came to me and said, "My race is over. [01:24:21] Here's the baton. Will you run your [01:24:24] race?" [01:24:26] I hope you felt that way, too. [01:24:29] [Applause] [01:24:35] [Applause] [01:25:08] I have to say [01:25:10] my heart [01:25:12] is broken, [01:25:17] but it's so full to see that Charlie [01:25:20] affect ffected so many lives o across [01:25:24] the world. [01:25:26] Thousands in his own backyard in [01:25:28] Arizona, millions in the country he [01:25:31] loves so much. And hundreds of millions [01:25:34] across the globe in countries that he's [01:25:36] never once visited [01:25:38] [Applause] [01:25:48] throughout history. There have always [01:25:50] been leaders who carried a torch so [01:25:52] bright it lit the path for the [01:25:54] generation around them. Charlie was one [01:25:57] of these leaders. His vision, his [01:26:00] courage, his love for his country, it [01:26:03] was a light in a very dark world. [01:26:07] And when you were near him, you could [01:26:09] not help but feel it. That light gave [01:26:13] people hope. It gave people direction. [01:26:16] And for so many of us, it gave us [01:26:19] purpose. [01:26:20] Now that Charlie is gone, the weight [01:26:23] feels heavier and the path feels harder. [01:26:27] You may feel more alone than ever. But [01:26:30] the truth is, he didn't carry that torch [01:26:33] just for himself. [01:26:35] He carried it so he could hand it off to [01:26:37] us. And now it is our turn. [01:26:51] The flame he lit in each of us has to [01:26:54] burn brighter than ever before starting [01:26:56] today. For those of you who may not know [01:26:59] me, my name is Chris and I have the [01:27:01] pleasure and honor of overseeing our [01:27:04] college chapters, students, and [01:27:06] operations as the college enterprise [01:27:09] director here at Turning Point USA. [01:27:19] But before I ever carried that title, I [01:27:22] was just a student with Turning Point [01:27:24] who believed in this organization, who [01:27:26] believed in this movement, who believed [01:27:27] in Charlie. [01:27:35] Like so many others, I found my way into [01:27:37] this organization because of Charlie's [01:27:39] vision. He had this incredible way of [01:27:42] making people believe not just in [01:27:44] America but in this movement. Looking [01:27:47] back on paper, it made no sense for a [01:27:50] handful of 20somes to lead the fight to [01:27:53] save the nation and come damn near close [01:27:55] to doing so. [01:28:05] Starting as a college kid simply trying [01:28:07] to make a difference on my own campus, I [01:28:09] never could have imagined that years [01:28:11] later I would be standing here entrusted [01:28:13] with leading the very students that [01:28:16] Charlie cared about most. [01:28:19] One of the things that made Charlie so [01:28:20] unique was his ability to see potential [01:28:23] in people long before they saw it in [01:28:25] themselves. I know that was true for me [01:28:28] as a young college student. I wasn't [01:28:30] sure how much of a difference one person [01:28:31] could really make. But Charlie never [01:28:34] looked at people for who they were in [01:28:35] that moment. He looked at them for who [01:28:37] they would become. He saw leaders where [01:28:40] others saw followers. [01:28:42] He saw courage where others saw [01:28:44] inexperience. [01:28:46] That's why he poured so much of himself [01:28:48] into the next generation. He believed [01:28:50] that the future of this country wouldn't [01:28:52] be decided by politicians in Washington. [01:28:54] He believed it would be decided by [01:28:56] students on their campuses. He believed [01:28:58] in us. and he was willing to fight for [01:29:01] us even when the world made it so costly [01:29:03] for him to do so. [01:29:12] Charlie stepped into the fire as an [01:29:13] 18-year-old. For his entire adult life, [01:29:16] he lived under the weight of critics. By [01:29:18] his early 20s, he faced more push back [01:29:20] than most people will ever experience in [01:29:22] their entire lives. [01:29:24] But what set him apart was that he never [01:29:27] allowed the attacks, the pressure, or [01:29:29] the hate harden his heart. Instead, he [01:29:33] rose above the hate, turned the other [01:29:35] cheek, and handed those who so [01:29:36] vehemently hated him the microphone. [01:29:47] He stayed focused. He stayed steadfast. [01:29:49] And above all, he remained faithful to [01:29:51] the mission God entrusted to him. Even [01:29:53] as the opposition grew louder and the [01:29:55] road grew harder, Charlie never lost [01:29:57] sight of the divine calling he was meant [01:29:59] to fulfill. And that I believe is the [01:30:02] challenge for us now. We can mourn and [01:30:05] we should. We can grieve and we must. [01:30:10] But if we stop there, we dishonor [01:30:12] everything Charlie gave his life to [01:30:14] build. The best way to remember Charlie [01:30:16] Kirk is not just in words, but in [01:30:18] action. to take up the mantle he carried [01:30:20] and pressed forward with even greater [01:30:23] urgency. [01:30:29] [Applause] [01:30:50] The truth is, America still needs voices [01:30:52] of change, voices of courage. Our [01:30:55] students still need protection. The next [01:30:57] generation still needs leaders willing [01:30:59] to stand in the fire and not flinch. [01:31:02] That was Charlie's calling, and now it [01:31:04] has to be ours. So tonight, as we [01:31:07] remember a husband, a father, a leader, [01:31:10] and a friend, may we also make a [01:31:12] commitment. A commitment that we will [01:31:14] not let the flame Charlie carried go [01:31:16] dim. that we will not let the work he [01:31:18] started be left unfinished. That we will [01:31:21] be bold enough to step into the gap and [01:31:22] carry the torch forward. Charlie, [01:31:26] we love you. We honor you and we promise [01:31:29] your fight did not end here. We will [01:31:31] carry it from here and we will make you [01:31:33] proud. As Charlie would often say, [01:31:36] onward. [01:31:37] [Applause] [01:32:26] [Applause] [01:32:45] Love you too. [01:32:47] >> Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jack [01:32:49] Pobic [01:32:51] [Applause] [01:32:59] >> and Charlie Kirk was my friend. [01:33:02] And Charlie Kirk will always be my [01:33:05] friend because Charlie Kirk is never [01:33:09] going anywhere because Charlie Kirk is [01:33:12] all of our friends and Charlie Kirk will [01:33:15] not have died in vain as long as I am [01:33:19] alive. [01:33:30] As long as there is blood in my veins [01:33:32] and air in my lungs, I will make sure [01:33:37] that the radical left, the media, and [01:33:40] the Democrats never forget the name of [01:33:44] Charlie Kirk. [01:34:11] We are here not because we want to be [01:34:14] here, not because we choose to be here. [01:34:19] This wasn't some accident. But you [01:34:21] listen to the media and they treat it [01:34:23] like it was just a car crash, a tragic [01:34:28] train derailment, a plane crash. No. No. [01:34:33] And don't you ever let them trick you [01:34:37] with their words, their wicked twisting [01:34:39] of words. No. Charlie Kirk was murdered. [01:34:43] Charlie Kirk was assassinated in cold [01:34:47] blood. He was shot down an innocent man [01:34:50] for the only crime that he ever [01:34:53] committed was speaking the truth. [01:35:07] And I commit to you that I will never [01:35:10] let them forget what they did to Charlie [01:35:14] Kirk. [01:35:25] It It's only been a few days. [01:35:28] This is the This is the first time I've [01:35:30] ever spoken publicly since Charlie was [01:35:34] assassinated. [01:35:36] I've got his shirt on and I I I see [01:35:39] there's so many people here who have it [01:35:41] on and and there's people that that made [01:35:44] their own. They they did handmade shirts [01:35:46] for Charlie. They wrote freedom in a [01:35:49] Sharpie pen. [01:35:52] And I see the vigils that are going on. [01:35:55] Not just this one here at ASU [01:35:58] where Turning Point was born. Not just [01:36:01] the one out front of Turning Point [01:36:04] headquarters that has been going day and [01:36:07] night 247, [01:36:11] but in every town, in every city, in [01:36:15] every state, in every country all across [01:36:19] the world. [01:36:30] God will not let this world forget the [01:36:34] name of Charlie Kirk. [01:36:44] Charlie Charlieie [01:36:50] Charlieie [01:36:58] Charlie. [01:37:10] And you know when when terrible things [01:37:13] happen in this world, there are times [01:37:16] when [01:37:18] we ask why [01:37:20] and we say, "God, we're we're believers. [01:37:24] We know that Christ is our king." [01:37:28] But sometimes the Lord challenges us, [01:37:30] doesn't he? And we ask, "Why? [01:37:34] Why did this happen?" Well, I'll tell [01:37:36] you one thing. I think in this instance, [01:37:41] maybe, just maybe, we already have our [01:37:44] answer because we can see that God has [01:37:47] raised Charlie Kirk up to be a message, [01:37:51] to be a vision, to be a testament to [01:37:53] this entire world, for Christ Jesus, [01:37:59] because Christ is king. And through [01:38:02] Charlie, God is spreading the message of [01:38:05] the gospel and Christ's sacrifice. and [01:38:08] his anointed blood, his sacred blood is [01:38:12] now being spread to the four corners of [01:38:14] the globe. [01:38:22] And I do see that [01:38:25] and I do trust the Lord. But I [01:38:29] I still think of Erica [01:38:32] and I think of Charlie's children. [01:38:35] And I know [01:38:37] that if some bullet came [01:38:41] and cut me down [01:38:43] that Charlie would be there for my [01:38:46] children to be an uncle to them. [01:38:50] So I will always be there for Charlie's [01:38:52] children as an uncle to them. [01:38:56] to tell them who their father was, to [01:38:59] tell them what he stood for, to tell [01:39:02] them who Charlie the man was. [01:39:05] Charlie was not a boy. [01:39:08] Charlie started this movement. He was a [01:39:10] boy when he first started. He was a boy, [01:39:14] but he went out a man. He went out with [01:39:16] his boots on. He went out as a lion. [01:39:21] with the courage of a lion, with more [01:39:24] courage than all of us. [01:39:27] Because after Butler last year, we we [01:39:31] told Charlie, [01:39:34] I told Charlie, I said, "Charlie, are [01:39:37] you sure you still want to keep doing [01:39:38] these? Do you want to keep going knowing [01:39:41] what the threat is, the violence? They [01:39:44] almost took out Trump. Are you sure you [01:39:47] still want to do this?" [01:39:50] And he looked at me and I could see the [01:39:53] conviction in his eyes and I could hear [01:39:55] it in his voice. And he said, "Jack, [01:40:00] I will never stop. I will never quit. I [01:40:05] will not let anything stand in my way." [01:40:12] And and this is something that you know [01:40:15] I think [01:40:17] I think that you know when you when you [01:40:18] hear the media, believe it or not, the [01:40:20] media get things wrong sometimes. I [01:40:22] crazy, right? [01:40:24] But what what they get wrong about [01:40:26] Charlie, they get everything wrong about [01:40:27] Charlie. But what one thing that they [01:40:29] get wrong that I really need to correct [01:40:30] the record on, [01:40:32] Charlie wasn't doing this for himself. [01:40:36] Charlie was doing it for all of us. [01:40:39] Charlie was doing it for all of the [01:40:41] people, for all of the children, for all [01:40:44] of the children yet to come, for the [01:40:47] lies that have been told in this [01:40:49] country, the lies that have been told [01:40:51] around the world, Charlie Kirk dedicated [01:40:54] his life to telling the truth. And [01:40:57] because he told the truth in such a way, [01:41:00] with such a gift that was given to him [01:41:03] by Father God, they cut him down with an [01:41:07] assassin's bullet. [01:41:10] And so here's my message to the left. [01:41:13] Here's my message to the radicals, [01:41:16] to the liars, to the smear artists, the [01:41:20] merchants who smeared the name the good [01:41:23] name of my friend Accountability [01:41:30] is coming. It is coming for each and [01:41:33] every one of you [01:41:37] because we will not stop. We will not [01:41:41] rest. We will not sleep until we have [01:41:44] justice for Charlie Kirk. [01:42:04] God bless to every single one of you. [01:42:07] God bless America. And as always, when [01:42:11] you go out there, I want you to remember [01:42:13] two words. It ain't a lot. It's just two [01:42:17] words. [01:42:18] have this tattooed and written on your [01:42:21] heart. When we go out there, when we [01:42:24] fight, when we step up to the plate, [01:42:27] when we put up a folding table in a park [01:42:30] or on campus, when we set up a chair and [01:42:33] pick up a microphone, when we go out [01:42:36] there, when we give it all, we're doing [01:42:38] it for Charlie. [01:43:22] Hello everyone. [01:43:24] [Music] [01:43:25] My name is Tyler Boyer. I'm the CEO of [01:43:28] Turning Point Action. [01:43:31] [Applause] [01:43:38] Thank you. [01:43:40] We love Charlie. [01:43:42] [Music] [01:43:43] I want to start today by telling the [01:43:45] joke that I heard Charlie Kirk tell [01:43:47] about one million times before he spoke [01:43:48] before an audience. [01:43:51] Does anybody here know it? You think you [01:43:53] know it? So, pretend I'm Charlie for a [01:43:56] second. I'm Charlie Kirk and I'm from [01:43:58] Illinois. We believe in term limits. One [01:44:02] term in office, one term in jail. [01:44:08] The second joke he always told when he [01:44:10] before he got before an audience was, [01:44:12] "Wow, there's more people in here than [01:44:13] we had at our first event." And there's [01:44:15] definitely more people in here than we [01:44:17] had at our first event. [01:44:20] There [01:44:24] there's more people in here than at ASU [01:44:26] basketball games. Let's be honest. So, [01:44:31] and I'm a Sunundevil. All right. [01:44:34] We got to work on the basketball. [01:44:37] All right. I want to just tell you real [01:44:39] quick uh a story about meeting Charlie. [01:44:42] Uh I want to tell you about how I met [01:44:44] Charlie Kirk, how we ended up here in [01:44:46] Arizona together. [01:44:49] I met Charlie Kirk in uh 2014. [01:44:54] We uh we worked he he talked me into [01:44:58] taking a subminimum wage job. [01:45:02] My wife's in here somewhere. She she [01:45:04] wasn't really excited about that at the [01:45:07] time, but uh had two kids, really young [01:45:11] kids, uh taking a subminimum wage job. [01:45:14] He put me on a flight, a Spear Airlines [01:45:17] flight. [01:45:20] I know that that that's where the deal [01:45:22] breaker usually was, but I went to ASU, [01:45:25] so I was okay with the culture. [01:45:30] And I showed up and it was -10° [01:45:34] in in Chicago [01:45:38] at a at a Holiday in Express. [01:45:42] So you kind of layer all these things [01:45:43] together. You start to see this [01:45:45] beautiful picture of Turning Point USA [01:45:48] in the early days. [01:45:50] Uh but I walked into that t that Holiday [01:45:53] Express and I spent what would become [01:45:57] three days with Charlie Kirk. [01:46:00] And I spent just a couple hours [01:46:02] one-on-one with Charlie Kirk. And this [01:46:05] is before anyone knew who Charlie Kirk [01:46:06] was. [01:46:08] And I was surrounded by actual [01:46:10] conservatives, [01:46:13] activists, [01:46:14] much like this room, [01:46:16] surrounded by conservative activists [01:46:19] that actually cared about the movement [01:46:20] and wanted to do this. [01:46:22] And I looked at Charlie and I spent [01:46:25] those few hours that I had with Charlie [01:46:27] in that first first encounter ever. 10 [01:46:30] degrees outside Chicago. Didn't know [01:46:33] what the heck I was doing. And I walked [01:46:36] away from that and going, I can hitch my [01:46:38] wagon to this guy. [01:46:41] I can hitch my wagon to Charlie Kirk. [01:46:46] He was he was my best friend. [01:46:49] We went everywhere together. We had [01:46:51] absolutely no money. [01:46:55] Absolutely none. Charlie didn't pay [01:46:56] himself. Like I said, I had a subminimum [01:46:58] wage job. Charlie didn't pay himself for [01:47:01] the first, I don't know, five or six [01:47:02] years at Turning Point. On campus, it [01:47:05] was almost impossible to get people to [01:47:07] stop. [01:47:09] Here at ASU, kids would walk up [01:47:11] screaming at us, calling us fascist. [01:47:14] That's not a new thing. They've been [01:47:16] doing that for now 15, 20 years. [01:47:20] But on campus, it was right in the [01:47:21] middle of Bernie Sanders running for [01:47:23] office. Remember that? When he was [01:47:24] running for president. [01:47:27] So I set up this sign. So this sign [01:47:30] right here was actually my sign. [01:47:40] It's in a frame now because it's so [01:47:42] historic now. that's in the office. [01:47:45] But we'd set it up very similar to this [01:47:48] right on campus and Charlie would be [01:47:51] there and we would be there and we would [01:47:53] be trying to convince people just to [01:47:55] stop for a second and talk about what [01:47:59] was important. [01:48:01] But right next to us was the Bernie [01:48:03] Sanders table. [01:48:06] So this was the Charlie Kirk magic was [01:48:09] we had normallooking kids who took [01:48:12] showers [01:48:16] and then you know the other side. [01:48:21] Yeah. We these signs got us in trouble a [01:48:23] lot actually here at ASU. One time [01:48:26] Sparky took a picture with our big gov [01:48:28] sucks our sunundevils think big [01:48:30] government sucks sign and it went viral [01:48:33] on Twitter and Dr. Crow was calling us [01:48:35] asking us to take it down [01:48:38] and we said no. [01:48:49] >> Not far from here, just a few hundred [01:48:51] yards from where we're at right now, we [01:48:52] hosted the first ever Turning Point USA [01:48:55] rally event, speaking event that Charlie [01:48:58] ever participated in. It was Charlie [01:49:00] Kirk and Rand Paul and we held in the [01:49:03] gym right right nearby. I organized it. [01:49:06] It was an incredible event. It was the [01:49:08] best event some people say. [01:49:14] But that's when Charlie figured out he [01:49:17] could really do really well at this [01:49:18] whole speaking thing. [01:49:23] I made a huge mistake that day, though. [01:49:25] We had a backdrop behind us. You've [01:49:27] probably seen them on all our stuff. [01:49:29] Oftentimes we'll have a backdrop. ASU [01:49:31] wouldn't allow one here today because [01:49:33] it's a rotunda, but we usually had a [01:49:36] backdrop. We had an early backdrop and [01:49:38] we only had one and it was at this event [01:49:41] and we were so excited and it was so fun [01:49:43] and it we had, you know, hundreds of [01:49:45] people that showed up, almost a thousand [01:49:46] people who showed up to this rally for [01:49:48] this big thing. And we left, we forgot [01:49:50] to pack up the the sign, the the [01:49:53] backdrop. And what ended up happening [01:49:56] was very quickly the the staff threw it [01:49:59] in the trash compactor and when I came [01:50:01] back it was already compacted. [01:50:04] I felt really bad cuz they I I told you [01:50:08] Turning Point didn't have any money. So [01:50:10] we had spent, you know, quite a few [01:50:12] hundred, maybe $1,000 on that backdrop. [01:50:14] And I went to Charlie and I said, [01:50:16] "Charlie, I got some really bad news for [01:50:18] you. That event went really well, but [01:50:21] we're going to have to buy a new [01:50:22] backdrop." [01:50:23] And I'll tell you, my friend, our friend [01:50:27] Charlie, was the most forgiving person [01:50:30] that you'd ever meet. [01:50:33] He didn't care about that. What he cared [01:50:35] about was what we were just able to [01:50:37] accomplish. [01:50:38] He didn't care about the mistakes that [01:50:41] people made, the flaws that they had. [01:50:42] And trust me, a bunch of us kids, 20some [01:50:46] year old kids, running a massive [01:50:48] organization and turning into what [01:50:50] Turning Point USA is today [01:50:52] have a lot of flaws. [01:50:56] But we did huge things along the way. [01:50:59] We traveled around with Donald Trump Jr. [01:51:07] and ultimately held the rallies that [01:51:10] would get President Trump elected in [01:51:12] 2016. [01:51:20] >> I was privy to hang out and have long [01:51:22] wonderful religious conversations with [01:51:24] Charlie Kirk and Dennis Prager. [01:51:30] Nothing will make you feel more stupid [01:51:32] than sitting in a room with Charlie Kirk [01:51:34] and Dennis Prager on religion. [01:51:39] We would fly to see important people, [01:51:42] billionaires, sit down with them trying [01:51:43] to explain what big government sucks [01:51:46] mean. [01:51:49] We built big conferences, huge [01:51:51] conferences, [01:51:52] the biggest in the movement, big events [01:51:55] that ultimately will culminate into the [01:51:58] big student events that we see on [01:52:00] campus. [01:52:03] And we won Arizona in 2024. [01:52:11] And we will again [01:52:16] and again. [01:52:18] I'm going to tell you right now, there's [01:52:20] no person that Charlie Kirk loved more [01:52:22] than our vice president, JD Vance. [01:52:29] So, I can promise you, and I know every [01:52:32] single person in this room agrees with [01:52:33] me, we are going to win in 2028, aren't [01:52:36] we, folks? [01:52:46] 2026 is going to be the Charlie Kirk [01:52:48] election. [01:52:50] [Applause] [01:52:54] 2028 will be the Kirk Vance election. [01:53:01] But I want to tell you all my favorite [01:53:03] memories of all are just being with [01:53:06] Charlie one-on-one [01:53:08] solving the life life's problems, big [01:53:11] problems, just one-on-one just talking [01:53:15] to late in the hours. We often would [01:53:17] talk about how we worked on a 24-hour [01:53:19] schedule. Charlie was oftentimes [01:53:21] traveling all across the country and I [01:53:23] was West Coast. So when he would when he [01:53:26] would go to sleep, I would stay up. I [01:53:29] would be up long and by the time he [01:53:30] would wake up is when I would go to [01:53:32] sleep and we were never off the clock. [01:53:35] We worried about specific people. Many [01:53:38] people who are on this room today, many [01:53:41] staff members who helped build Turning [01:53:43] Point into what it is today. [01:53:46] He worried and loved about people [01:53:49] individually. He thought about people [01:53:51] individually. [01:53:53] And with a person with as magnanimous of [01:53:55] a spirit as he has and as big and and [01:53:58] lionhearted as he is, he cared about the [01:54:01] little guy. He cared about the the the [01:54:04] person that just started at turning [01:54:06] point. He cared about the person who was [01:54:08] in the corner of a rally or a room and [01:54:11] would approach them. I saw him do that [01:54:13] many times. I missed talking about [01:54:15] sports with my best friend, about how [01:54:18] terrible ASU was against Oregon in the [01:54:20] Pack 12. [01:54:26] But I'll tell you, the biggest thing [01:54:28] that I loved watching was watching him [01:54:30] become a a husband and a father. [01:54:34] [Applause] [01:54:40] We love Erica Kirk, don't we? [01:54:48] >> I love Erica. I'll tell you why I love [01:54:50] Erica. Erica I met [01:54:54] by throwing the first ever Trump rally. [01:54:57] She sat right behind the president in [01:54:59] the ve what turned out to be the very [01:55:01] first Trump rally. And it wasn't long [01:55:03] before that that she Charlie got her [01:55:06] number and never let it go. [01:55:10] But I want to tell you I want to tell [01:55:12] you everyone here what we're up against [01:55:15] is one of the most difficult times in [01:55:18] human history in American history. [01:55:21] This is the moment each of us has to [01:55:25] decide whether or not we're going to [01:55:27] fight or we're going to sit back and [01:55:29] slink back and allow these things to [01:55:32] take over our lives. [01:55:45] And and folks, I I mean, I'm gonna tell [01:55:47] you right now, if this crazy leftist [01:55:50] radicalization is happening in Utah, [01:55:52] it's happening everywhere. [01:55:55] It is absolutely everywhere. And this [01:55:58] isn't a both sides problem. This is very [01:56:01] clearly a one-sided problem. [01:56:04] [Applause] [01:56:12] So, we have a job to do. And this is the [01:56:15] promise that I'm going to make to you as [01:56:18] the leader of Turning Point Action. [01:56:22] Charlie showed us the way. He wanted you [01:56:25] to go to church. [01:56:30] Go to church. [01:56:32] It's that simple. You don't have to be [01:56:34] good at it. You just have to go. [01:56:40] Support or join a Turning Point USA [01:56:42] chapter at high school and college [01:56:44] levels. [01:56:45] [Applause] [01:56:52] Register to vote. [01:56:58] There are people in here right now not [01:57:00] registered to vote. [01:57:02] >> You know how we know that? Because you [01:57:05] all signed up for this. [01:57:11] There are lots of people in here not [01:57:13] registered to vote. You have to register [01:57:15] to vote. You have to participate. [01:57:23] Charlie Kirk did not die for you to sit [01:57:25] at home on election day. [01:57:30] Come work for us. Chase votes. [01:57:40] Get with us. Volunteer. Spend your time. [01:57:42] Help. Talk to your neighbors. Get out of [01:57:45] the house. Touch grass. Talk to your [01:57:48] people. [01:57:49] The best part about going to church is [01:57:52] that you're going to talk to someone. [01:57:56] When you talk to people, like Charlie [01:57:58] told us, you're helping save their life. [01:58:02] You're helping change their life. When [01:58:04] we stop talking, that's when problems [01:58:06] happen. And last and not but not least, [01:58:09] and certainly not least, for every young [01:58:12] person that's in this room in [01:58:13] particular, [01:58:15] focus on building a family. [01:58:28] At Turning Point, we will help you do [01:58:30] all of those things. We are going to [01:58:32] dedicate the rest of our lives to [01:58:35] helping you do all of those things. We [01:58:38] are going to do this for Charlie. [01:58:42] For Charlie. [01:58:45] I hope you'll join us. [01:58:51] I hope every single person here will go [01:58:54] through those action steps. Join us this [01:58:57] Sunday. Be there in person. See it. It's [01:59:00] going to be a life-changing event. It's [01:59:02] going to be a turning point for your [01:59:05] life. [01:59:17] We we I tell people this. I'll finish on [01:59:20] this. I've been telling people this all [01:59:22] week. I would trade in everything [01:59:25] everything that we spent all those years [01:59:28] building a turning point just to have [01:59:29] Charlie back. We would tra we would [01:59:32] trade in every single blessing that [01:59:35] we've seen over the last week that's [01:59:38] occurred. [01:59:40] But you know what? Charlie Kirk wouldn't [01:59:41] do that. Charlie Kirk is looking down at [01:59:44] us right now and he's really excited [01:59:47] about all of the action that's happening [01:59:49] right now. Really excited. And you know [01:59:52] how I know that? [01:59:54] Because I know Charlie Kirk. You know [01:59:57] Charlie Kirk. Who Charlie Kirk was that [02:00:00] you listen to every single day is who [02:00:01] Charlie Kirk was in private. And he is [02:00:04] so excited. The only thing is is he [02:00:06] wishes he was here to tell us exactly [02:00:08] what to do. He liked doing that. [02:00:13] But [02:00:21] >> but I'll tell you this, we need [02:00:23] everybody to step up. We need everybody [02:00:25] to chip in. We need every single person [02:00:27] that's here to commit to win, to commit [02:00:31] to do good, to commit to go back to [02:00:33] church, to commit to register to vote, [02:00:35] to commit to chase ballots, to commit to [02:00:38] be part of something. That's what [02:00:40] Charlie Kirk will want. God bless every [02:00:42] single person that took time out of [02:00:44] their day to be here. God bless every [02:00:46] single one of you. God bless Arizona. [02:00:49] God bless Turning Point USA. God bless [02:00:52] Erica Kirk. [02:00:56] God bless our president and vice [02:00:58] president. And God bless America. We'll [02:01:00] see you. [02:01:30] too tall for me, [02:01:35] you You know, Charlie was found on video [02:01:37] saying, [02:01:39] "I generally don't trust short people." [02:01:45] And of course, everyone at Turning Point [02:01:48] sent it to me [02:01:51] as a proud 5'6. [02:01:58] I told Charlie I sent that right over to [02:02:00] him and I said, "What is this?" [02:02:07] And he said in response, I said, [02:02:10] "Generally, [02:02:14] that's Charlie Kirk. [02:02:18] He doesn't trust short people, but he [02:02:20] trusted me." [02:02:25] And you know, as someone that is a [02:02:27] proud, let's be real, 5 foot five and a [02:02:29] half, [02:02:32] I trusted that giant. [02:02:36] Every time I took a picture next to him, [02:02:37] I was reminded he is a giant, [02:02:42] but I loved him. [02:02:46] My speech isn't one of hype. My speech [02:02:50] isn't one of anger. [02:02:53] My speech isn't one [02:02:57] to sorrow, [02:02:59] but is it a speech [02:03:03] to recognize the man that he was? [02:03:07] We are here because he impacted each of [02:03:10] us in a very individual way. [02:03:13] You don't come to a vigil [02:03:16] to sit two hours in hard bleachers in a [02:03:19] stadium in an arena where this [02:03:21] basketball team has sucked perennially. [02:03:24] If you didn't love the man, [02:03:27] [Applause] [02:03:38] who is Charlie Kirk? [02:03:40] >> Well, I'll tell you who he was to me. [02:03:44] hero. [02:03:47] >> He was my hero. [02:03:51] >> He was my boss. [02:03:54] He was my consoler. [02:03:57] He was my motivator. [02:03:59] He was my rebuer. [02:04:04] He was my best friend. [02:04:09] I want you to know a side of Charlie [02:04:11] that you don't get to see on the screen. [02:04:14] Many of you don't didn't get the [02:04:16] privilege to know such a man. A man of [02:04:20] God is rare in these days. There's a lot [02:04:24] that preach, but few that live. [02:04:27] That man lived the word of God. [02:04:30] [Applause] [02:04:38] He hired me back in 2016. As Tyler [02:04:41] mentioned, we were nobodies back then. I [02:04:45] was a nobody. Charlie was a nobody. In [02:04:48] fact, if you'd looked at Charlie, you [02:04:49] would think he's a nobody. He was a [02:04:52] giant 6 foot five wearing dad jeans and [02:04:55] a shirt from Goodwill. That was the man [02:04:58] that I met. [02:05:01] But something about him [02:05:03] said, "You need to work for this man. [02:05:06] He's gonna change this world." [02:05:10] >> And he did. And you know what? The first [02:05:14] time I walked in, I was hired in 2016. [02:05:17] And just like Tyler, I walked into the [02:05:19] basement of Chicago O'Hare Airport. [02:05:22] That's where our training was in the [02:05:24] basement. [02:05:25] Imagine that. In the dungeon of that [02:05:27] dungey old airport. [02:05:30] And as I walked in to the training room, [02:05:34] I walked pa a cafe. [02:05:38] And there in that cafe [02:05:40] was the man that hired me [02:05:43] with his Bible [02:05:45] opened up and a highlighter in hand [02:05:48] reading the word of God. [02:05:52] That was the man [02:05:54] back in 2016 that said he was going to [02:05:57] change the country. [02:06:00] [Applause] [02:06:06] That very man who could barely afford a [02:06:09] shirt for his back [02:06:12] loved the Chicago Cubs. [02:06:16] I can't say I love them myself, but [02:06:19] that man took 30 [02:06:23] random [02:06:26] nobodies from around the country that [02:06:27] just started to work for him and he [02:06:29] wanted them to partake and experience [02:06:30] something that he loved. The [02:06:32] organization had no money to its name, [02:06:35] not a dollar to its name. But that man [02:06:37] spent his own money to take 30 random [02:06:42] employees that were in a startup [02:06:43] together to go experience something he [02:06:46] loved. [02:06:48] Charlie had the heart [02:06:51] of a giant. [02:06:54] In 2017, [02:06:58] we were trying to get started. We're [02:06:59] trying to make a movement happen. It was [02:07:02] an uphill climb. [02:07:04] The odds were against us. We got yelled [02:07:06] at, flipped off, called every name in [02:07:08] the book. [02:07:11] No momentum in our favor. Everyone wrote [02:07:14] us off. No one was donating. [02:07:17] But Charlie said, "You know what? [02:07:20] Here at ASU [02:07:22] said, "Hey, the" and I I I pitched him. [02:07:25] I said, "Hey, Charlie, the College [02:07:27] Democrats president wants to debate you. [02:07:32] Some little 18-year-old punk wants to [02:07:33] debate you." He's 23 at the time, 24. Do [02:07:37] you want to debate this 20, this [02:07:38] 18-year-old? [02:07:40] Said, "Yeah, let's give it a shot." [02:07:43] Here at ASU, birthed the very first [02:07:46] college debate by Charlie Kirk and he [02:07:49] crushed it. And the Sunundevils turned [02:07:52] out and the news turned out and he [02:07:55] walked out of there saying, "You know [02:07:56] what? There is something to this. [02:07:59] There's something to this. We need to be [02:08:01] on college campuses, not just [02:08:03] mobilizing, setting up tables, not just [02:08:05] recruiting, not just doing events, but [02:08:07] we need to take the fight to them. We [02:08:09] need to argue that our ideas win when [02:08:13] spoken. [02:08:17] That same year in 2017, he had another [02:08:20] phenomenon that later became so core and [02:08:25] so fundamental to who he is. [02:08:28] at GCU, our neighboring campus. He said, [02:08:32] "You know what? [02:08:35] Christianity [02:08:36] truly is [02:08:39] rooted in the scriptures. [02:08:42] Christianity [02:08:44] is not just rooted in the scriptures, [02:08:45] but it is the foundation to capitalism." [02:08:51] And he said, "You know what? I want to [02:08:52] share the gospel, [02:08:55] more of the gospel with college [02:08:57] students." Do you think they're they're [02:08:58] going to [02:09:01] be honest? I didn't think so at the time [02:09:06] at that time [02:09:10] nonerations [02:09:12] ever. [02:09:14] But you know what? He did not cower and [02:09:17] he [02:09:20] one of the largest rooms in at GCU [02:09:23] speaking the word of God making a [02:09:24] Christian case for capitalism. [02:09:27] [Applause] [02:09:30] 2017 was the birth of modernday Charlie. [02:09:34] 2017 is when he realized we must debate [02:09:37] and show that our ideas win. We must [02:09:39] share the gospel unashamed, unafraid. [02:09:42] Not just at Christian campuses, but [02:09:44] everywhere in the world. Whether it's [02:09:46] Oxford [02:09:48] or in America [02:09:50] or in North Korea or South Korea and [02:09:52] Tokyo, Japan, [02:09:55] the word matters. [02:09:58] Then in 2018, some one of the best [02:10:01] things happened for Charlie. [02:10:03] Candace Owens came onto the scene. [02:10:10] Candace took our favorite nerd, our [02:10:13] favorite person favorite person that [02:10:14] could spew off any fact off the top of [02:10:16] his brain and said, "You know what? [02:10:21] You're a 24-year-old boy. [02:10:25] It's okay for you to have a little fun, [02:10:26] too. It's okay for you to be human. It's [02:10:28] okay for you to be able to sing in the [02:10:31] car to your favorite song." [02:10:36] Can Owens balanced and showed Charlie [02:10:41] that he could be and fully embrace the [02:10:44] inner child that was within. Not just [02:10:47] work your tail off, not just inspire and [02:10:50] sacrifice all your life to others, but [02:10:54] to find joy [02:10:56] on the path. [02:10:59] It was also that time in 2018 when I [02:11:02] started to get to know Charlie better. [02:11:04] Now, keep in mind, I was a no one. I was [02:11:06] an entry- level employee. I was the [02:11:08] community college specialist for [02:11:10] Arizona. That's not a title you brag [02:11:13] about. [02:11:15] I'm sorry, guys. No one wants to share [02:11:17] that. But he took me aside and said, [02:11:20] "Andrew, how's the company doing? [02:11:24] Andrew, what do your peers think about [02:11:27] leadership? What can we do to serve you [02:11:29] better?" I saw a man that as busy as his [02:11:33] as he was, [02:11:35] my opinion mattered as a nobody. [02:11:42] In 2020, COVID hit. [02:11:46] Schools came to a halt. The world was [02:11:48] afraid. [02:11:50] Companies shuttered. Companies laid off. [02:11:52] They furled. [02:11:55] You know what Charlie said? [02:11:57] We will not furlow. We will not lay off [02:12:00] any employee. [02:12:05] Not that not because we had the money, [02:12:07] not because we accepted government [02:12:08] grants, but because of two things. [02:12:13] Turning point was his family. And you do [02:12:15] not let your family down. Not even in [02:12:18] hardship. [02:12:20] [Applause] [02:12:24] And the second thing [02:12:27] was the movement must go on and no [02:12:31] sickness, no demonic thing in this world [02:12:34] will ever ever stop the movement from [02:12:36] growing. Truth will always prevail. [02:12:42] In 2022, [02:12:45] I had the birth of my son. Soon after [02:12:48] the birth of his daughter, we became [02:12:50] fathers together. [02:12:54] [Applause] [02:12:57] He had just promoted me [02:13:01] at this time to oversee all of our [02:13:04] student operations for Turning Point [02:13:05] USA, a massive responsibility [02:13:08] that he could not bear by himself. He [02:13:10] handed to me and two weeks later, my son [02:13:14] came prematurely to this [02:13:24] My baby boy came prematurely to this [02:13:26] world. [02:13:29] One lb 14 o on life support. You know [02:13:32] what Charlie said? [02:13:36] Don't come back to work. [02:13:38] I will take the load for you. He didn't [02:13:41] have the capacity to take it from me. He [02:13:44] said stay at the hospital. I will be [02:13:47] there for you. I'll check in. You turn [02:13:48] off your email. You turn off everything. [02:13:53] This is a man that didn't sleep. Didn't [02:13:56] have time to sleep. Didn't have time to [02:13:57] barely respond to a text. Say, "I'll [02:14:00] take that load for you, Andrew." And [02:14:02] checked in every day, called, [02:14:05] prayed, sent care packages, made time to [02:14:09] say, "Hey, I want to come see you at the [02:14:11] hospital." He didn't have time. [02:14:15] The man knew [02:14:18] the movement matters, [02:14:21] but souls matter more. [02:14:25] [Applause] [02:14:37] In 2023, [02:14:39] we witnessed one of the first horrific [02:14:42] incidents at UC Davis in mob form [02:14:45] encircled the school. He was trying to [02:14:47] have an event with students [02:14:51] in Northern California [02:14:53] like this. And outside the venue, a mob [02:14:56] formed of evil, [02:14:59] evil human beings that hated him. They [02:15:03] threw rocks and shattered the glass, [02:15:06] shouted chance of death and wanted to [02:15:09] kill him. [02:15:12] He walked away from that event saying, [02:15:14] "We will not we will not cower. We will [02:15:17] not cower to those evil people. [02:15:22] We must carry on." When most would say [02:15:25] when most other speakers would say, "I'm [02:15:26] not doing that again. My family comes [02:15:28] first. I need to protect myself." He [02:15:30] said, "We're on to something." Because [02:15:34] evil only fights good when it's winning. [02:15:42] [Applause] [02:15:49] In 2024, [02:15:51] this is when the magic started. [02:15:54] In 2024, in the spring, we went to [02:16:00] University of Utah, just 60 miles north [02:16:04] of where he was shot. [02:16:08] He said, "Andrew, before the semester [02:16:10] ends," it was May. Before the semester [02:16:12] ends, I want to do a prove me wrong one. [02:16:14] Let's just do one more. I feel like [02:16:16] we're on to something. I want to do [02:16:18] these campus debates. We're on to [02:16:20] something. Said, "Yes, boss. We'll [02:16:21] figure out we'll find you a school. [02:16:24] University of Utah accommodated. We went [02:16:26] up there and we got a crowd of 300 [02:16:30] students. 300 students, everyone. That [02:16:32] is one section right here. One section. [02:16:35] And we were ecstatic. [02:16:39] 300 kids were there cheering us on, [02:16:41] booing, yelling, loving us, debating. [02:16:44] And we're like, you know what? That [02:16:47] we're on to something. We got to keep [02:16:48] doing this. And afterwards, he said, [02:16:50] Andrew, we're doubling down. I just want [02:16:53] to do per me wrongs. I just want to [02:16:54] debate kids. That's all I want to do. [02:16:57] This is effective. And you know what [02:16:59] else I'm gonna do? [02:17:01] I'm gonna go on a platform called Tik [02:17:03] Tok. [02:17:06] You know why, Andrew? [02:17:09] We need to reach the youth. And that is [02:17:11] where young Americans are. We need to [02:17:14] fight the battle where they're at. No [02:17:17] different than being on college [02:17:18] campuses. No different than being on [02:17:19] high school campuses. We need to be in [02:17:21] media. We need to be on social media [02:17:23] platforms. We need [02:17:26] to be a voice of influence, a voice of [02:17:28] reason. He said, "No one else is doing [02:17:30] this. Everyone else is saying, "Get off [02:17:33] that platform. Don't use. I'm going to [02:17:35] embrace it. We're going onto enemy [02:17:37] territory. We're going to speak to young [02:17:39] Americans where they're at. I want them [02:17:41] to hear our ideas because our ideas win [02:17:44] in the end. They always win. And we see [02:17:47] that debate after debate after debate [02:17:49] which is why you're all here because you [02:17:51] saw something in the logic and the [02:17:54] inspiration of what he said. He said [02:17:55] that resonates. [02:17:57] Not just you. There are hands raised [02:17:59] here. Raise your hand if he changed your [02:18:02] mind. If he inspired you, if he made you [02:18:05] want to be a more godly, better person. [02:18:08] Yes, he did that to you and millions [02:18:12] others that aren't here. Millions [02:18:14] others. [02:18:18] But here's the beautiful thing about [02:18:19] this. As his platform grew, as the [02:18:22] debates became bigger, larger, and we [02:18:25] started averaging two, three, four, [02:18:29] 5,000 students, as far as you could see [02:18:32] on the quad. [02:18:37] What changed was Charlie used to be this [02:18:40] witty, comical, own the libs man. [02:18:45] But as his platform grew, he matured [02:18:49] spiritually to recognize it wasn't about [02:18:52] owning the libs. It wasn't about [02:18:55] fighting fire with fire. It was about [02:18:58] dousing the fire with water. It was [02:19:02] about [02:19:06] >> he knew that the best thing that he [02:19:09] could do was not own the libs, but show [02:19:12] the libs a pathway forward. That hey, [02:19:18] you know what? We may disagree, [02:19:20] but I can hope that you see I come from [02:19:23] a good place. I hope that you can see [02:19:26] that we're both humans. I hope that you [02:19:28] can see that you may disagree with me, [02:19:30] but that there is a God that loves you. [02:19:32] I hope that you can see that maybe at [02:19:34] the end [02:19:36] that this crowd treated you with [02:19:38] civility, respect, and showed you we [02:19:42] will take the high road when they go [02:19:44] low. [02:19:46] We will always take the high road when [02:19:49] they go low. We will not be bitter. We [02:19:51] will not be sorrowful. [02:19:53] We will forgive. And we will show them [02:19:55] how in the end good prevails always. [02:19:59] Always. [02:20:00] [Applause] [02:20:04] Now in in closing, [02:20:11] I want to share Charlie's last moments. [02:20:15] For I was with that man. [02:20:18] I was with that man on his last hours, [02:20:22] last minutes. [02:20:24] last seconds. [02:20:32] What's powerful about Charlie [02:20:34] is he must have known. He must have [02:20:37] known [02:20:38] that the good work he did put him in [02:20:41] harm's way. [02:20:44] He knew, [02:20:46] but he also knew that he was God's hand. [02:20:51] And when God calls you to do something, [02:20:53] you must not cower. And he did not. [02:20:57] Those last moments were flying up to [02:21:00] Utah. [02:21:02] I want you to know his first experience [02:21:04] with me and his last. [02:21:08] Ironically, we're rooted in the Bible. [02:21:10] The first time I saw him, he was reading [02:21:12] the Bible in a cafe. And the last last [02:21:15] time I saw him, [02:21:17] we were flying up together and the whole [02:21:20] 90-minute flight up to Utah, he was in [02:21:23] the scriptures [02:21:25] trying to understand God's word for him, [02:21:28] debating with his pastor, trying to [02:21:30] understand the context, the meaning [02:21:31] behind all of it. [02:21:37] He was a humble man. [02:21:39] He was a humble man. He had the [02:21:40] attention of the world. He had the [02:21:42] president on speed dial. He had whatever [02:21:45] he could want. But in the end, he was a [02:21:49] humble, humble servant of the Lord. [02:21:53] Someone when his last conversation was [02:21:55] me with Andrew, [02:21:57] I can't wait to go on campus. [02:22:00] Make sure my entrance song is Thunder [02:22:02] Struck. Please no more of this girly [02:22:04] music. I need a nice riveting masculine [02:22:08] song to go on campus, dude. I was like, [02:22:09] I got you, boss. thunder struck. It is [02:22:15] another thing he mentioned. He said, [02:22:16] "Andrew, what does this audience need to [02:22:18] know? What do these students in Utah [02:22:20] need to know? I'm not here to I'm here [02:22:23] to debate them, but I'm not here to pick [02:22:26] a fight. I want to reach them. I want to [02:22:28] know what they're going through. Give me [02:22:31] understanding." [02:22:32] That was him. [02:22:35] [Applause] [02:22:39] And as he walked out into that crowd, [02:22:42] 5,000 students as far as you could see [02:22:46] on every level. We were in an [02:22:47] amphitheater. [02:22:50] 5,000 students screamed in joy and [02:22:54] yelled. It was a rockstar entrance [02:22:56] unlike any other. He did not need [02:22:58] thunder struck because the thunder [02:23:01] clapped and the people were excited and [02:23:03] the students cheered. [02:23:07] for a man that had changed their life [02:23:11] was there. [02:23:13] He was there. They could count on him [02:23:15] always. Always [02:23:18] because they knew he would speak justice [02:23:19] and truth. [02:23:21] And then boom, [02:23:24] he was shot. Boom, he was killed. Boom, [02:23:28] he was taken from this world. [02:23:37] And then there is silence. [02:23:40] There was silence for a split second. [02:23:45] And then the world screamed. [02:23:48] The world ran. [02:24:00] And the world wept [02:24:03] for there was darkness. [02:24:05] Such evil. Such evil. [02:24:08] Silence. A good man. You may not agree [02:24:11] with him, but he was a good man. [02:24:17] One of my favorite scriptures [02:24:20] is this [02:24:22] because it explains, I think, what a lot [02:24:24] of us were thinking in the depths of our [02:24:27] sorrow that day. [02:24:29] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, [02:24:32] neither are your ways my ways, sayeth [02:24:35] the Lord. For as the heavens are higher [02:24:38] than the earth, so are my ways than your [02:24:40] ways, and my thoughts than your [02:24:43] thoughts. [02:24:45] I can tell you [02:24:48] without a doubt, God lives. [02:24:53] He has a way and he's paved it. [02:24:56] Charlie was a vessel for reigning in a [02:25:00] lot of good in this world because in the [02:25:02] depths of that day and the silence [02:25:06] after the shot [02:25:09] ushered in a new beginning. [02:25:13] And as I struggled to understand God's [02:25:15] will and why he would let that happen to [02:25:17] such a good man, [02:25:19] a man I knew, a man I loved, [02:25:22] the days that followed shows exactly why [02:25:28] this world is healing. This world is [02:25:31] coming together. This world recognized [02:25:36] the evil that was done. [02:25:40] It's just that it's evil. They realize [02:25:43] there is a battle on this earth. There's [02:25:45] a battle between good and evil and we [02:25:46] must stand strong. Charlie was just a [02:25:49] martyr. A martyr of someone that [02:25:50] represents so many of us that are [02:25:52] fighting for good in our lives for [02:25:54] fighting to overcome our own demons. And [02:25:56] he was taken from us. [02:26:00] But what you show the world today by [02:26:02] being here is that good will prevail and [02:26:07] that Charlie's death was not in vain. [02:26:10] [Applause] [02:26:15] And I promise you, I promise you, I will [02:26:18] stand here every day. I know our team [02:26:20] will fight. Our team's motivated more [02:26:23] than ever. [02:26:26] Motivated more than ever. And I know you [02:26:27] are as well, [02:26:30] Charlie. [02:26:32] what he sees in the world right now. I [02:26:33] know he's smiling down realizing that if [02:26:36] his sacrifice brought about good in this [02:26:38] world [02:26:41] that it was a job well done. Please send [02:26:43] me, Lord. [02:26:46] And I pray that we can carry on his [02:26:48] mission. I pray that we keep him in the [02:26:51] news. I pray that we keep him relevant, [02:26:53] his name out on our heart, that the [02:26:56] world knows what he represents. the [02:26:58] world knows what is to come because [02:27:01] there is a reckoning and it's going to [02:27:02] be a reckoning of righteousness and I [02:27:04] cannot wait to see it. God bless you. We [02:27:07] love you. The future is bright. [02:27:11] [Applause] [02:27:30] My name is Lucas Miles. I'm the senior [02:27:32] director of TPUSA Faith and I'm a [02:27:35] pastor. [02:27:38] And I want to say a few things before we [02:27:40] close here tonight. [02:27:44] In the middle of the second century, [02:27:47] there was a church father by the name of [02:27:48] Polycarp. [02:27:51] And Polycarp was arrested because he [02:27:53] refused to renounce Christ. [02:27:56] And when they arrested him at the age of [02:27:58] 86 years old, [02:28:01] they pleaded with him. They debated with [02:28:03] him. They tried to get him to say that [02:28:07] Jesus was not the Christ. [02:28:10] And you know what he did? He proved him [02:28:13] wrong. [02:28:21] when they couldn't convince him [02:28:24] because they didn't want to take the [02:28:26] life of an 86-year-old man. [02:28:30] They had no other choice in their minds. [02:28:32] But they drugg him, [02:28:35] tied him up, [02:28:38] and brought him to the amphitheater. [02:28:41] And in the amphitheater, they put [02:28:43] together a pile of sticks and a stake in [02:28:45] the ground. [02:28:47] And when he refused to renounce Jesus [02:28:49] Christ as his Lord and Savior, [02:28:52] they started to nail him to the pole to [02:28:55] burn him at the stake. [02:29:00] And he said to them this. [02:29:03] He said, 'I don't need nails [02:29:05] to stand for my Lord and Savior Jesus [02:29:09] Christ. [02:29:11] And he stood there in that pile as they [02:29:14] lit it on fire and he did not move. [02:29:19] And the witnesses that were watching [02:29:21] that day, [02:29:23] they said of him that as this fire [02:29:26] consumed all of all the sticks and the [02:29:29] the debris that they put around it, that [02:29:32] polycarp was not burned. [02:29:36] The fire surrounded him, yet it did not [02:29:40] stop him. [02:29:43] Finally, [02:29:44] in frustration, one of the soldiers who [02:29:47] were present [02:29:49] threw a spear into Polycarp's side, [02:29:53] piercing his heart, and he dropped to [02:29:56] the ground a martyr for Jesus Christ. [02:30:01] My friend Charlie Kirk [02:30:04] died a martyr for Jesus Christ. [02:30:15] And before we go here tonight, I want to [02:30:17] remind you a couple things about what it [02:30:19] means to be a martyr. [02:30:23] First off, martyrdom [02:30:25] is not defeat. It is victory in Christ [02:30:29] Jesus. Revelations 2:10 says, "Be [02:30:31] faithful to the point of death, and I [02:30:33] will give you the crown of life. [02:30:40] Martyrdom is not silence. [02:30:43] Martyrdom is not silence. [02:30:47] It is a testimony that still speaks. The [02:30:50] Bible says in Hebrews 11:4 that although [02:30:52] he is dead, talking about Abel, he still [02:30:55] speaks through his faith. And I'll tell [02:30:57] you what, Charlie is still speaking [02:30:58] today and still proving a lot of people [02:31:01] wrong. [02:31:02] [Applause] [02:31:09] Martyrdom is not loss. [02:31:13] The Bible says it's gain in the presence [02:31:14] of Christ. Philippians 1:21 says, "For [02:31:17] me to live is Christ and to die is [02:31:19] gain." Paul wrote. [02:31:22] See, martyrdom is not also meaningless. [02:31:26] The Bible says that the martyr is [02:31:28] precious in God's sight. The death of [02:31:30] his faithful ones is valuable in the [02:31:32] Lord's sight. Psalms 116:15. [02:31:38] And lastly, this martyrdom is not the [02:31:40] end. [02:31:41] It is the beginning of eternal glory. [02:31:45] Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4, he says, "I [02:31:49] have fought the good fight. I have [02:31:51] finished the race. I have kept the [02:31:53] faith. There is reserve for me the crown [02:31:56] of righteousness, what the Lord Jesus, [02:31:58] judge, will give me on that day. and not [02:32:00] only to me but also to those who have [02:32:03] loved his appearing. [02:32:07] See, I'll tell you this. [02:32:10] Much like Polycarp, [02:32:12] my friend Charlie faced the fire. He [02:32:16] faced the fire throughout all the years [02:32:18] that were described to us tonight. [02:32:21] But that fire could not consume him. [02:32:25] He was always bigger [02:32:27] than the obstacle. [02:32:30] And I think if Charlie were here today, [02:32:31] he would tell you that the reason he was [02:32:33] bigger than the obstacle is because his [02:32:35] Lord and Savior was bigger than the [02:32:37] obstacle. [02:32:39] [Applause] [02:32:47] See, in the same way that the fire could [02:32:50] not consume Polycarp, the fire did not [02:32:52] consume Charlie Kirk. To silence [02:32:55] Polycarp, they stabbed him with a spear. [02:32:58] But they thought that they could silence [02:33:00] Charlie Kirk with a bullet. [02:33:03] But they were wrong [02:33:05] because we are Charlie. [02:33:08] [Applause] [02:33:14] Charlie showed us the way. Charlie [02:33:18] pointed up. In the same way that Paul [02:33:21] said, "Follow me as I follow Christ." I [02:33:23] think we could say about our friend [02:33:25] Charlie Kirk, follow him as he followed [02:33:27] Christ. [02:33:29] Charlie showed us the way. [02:33:32] And on just a second here, I'm going to [02:33:34] pray and close us out. [02:33:36] But I think in this moment, on this day, [02:33:41] for this reason, [02:33:43] I got to think that Charlie would want [02:33:45] me to ask you one question, [02:33:48] and that is, do you know Jesus Christ as [02:33:50] your Lord and Savior? [02:33:53] [Applause] [02:33:58] I'm going to do this real quickly. [02:34:01] If you're here tonight and you've never [02:34:04] accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and [02:34:05] Savior, I'm just going to either ask [02:34:06] that you stand or or raise your hand. [02:34:10] Make a decision. I see you up here. It's [02:34:12] awesome. That's awesome. Thank you, [02:34:15] Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. [02:34:19] Thank you, Lord. I see you up here. [02:34:21] Thank you. Thank you. [02:34:26] All it takes to be saved is this. It's [02:34:29] repeating this simple prayer. I believe [02:34:31] that Jesus is the Christ and I accept [02:34:34] him as my Lord and Savior. [02:34:36] Charlie's not dead. He's alive. And he's [02:34:40] going to be alive for all eternity [02:34:42] because he knew one truth that a lot of [02:34:45] people in this world didn't know. And [02:34:47] that was that Jesus Christ died for his [02:34:49] sins and he received him as Lord and [02:34:51] Savior. [02:34:59] As we leave this place here tonight, the [02:35:02] power of this movement going forward, I [02:35:05] believe truly is going to be driven by [02:35:07] the revival that is taking place right [02:35:09] now across this nation and across this [02:35:11] world. [02:35:16] Don't lose this moment. [02:35:20] Don't forget what it's all about. [02:35:24] Don't lose sight [02:35:27] of the reason why Charlie was killed. It [02:35:30] wasn't over politics. [02:35:32] It was over faith. [02:35:35] The Bible says that the world hates you [02:35:40] because Jesus said it hated him first. [02:35:45] Charlie embodied that. Let me pray over [02:35:48] us tonight. Let's have everybody stand [02:35:49] up here this evening. [02:35:56] And let me just say this, Erica, the [02:35:58] kids, Chrissy and I love you and we will [02:36:02] fight with you and stand beside you as [02:36:04] long as it takes. [02:36:06] Father God, we just praise you tonight [02:36:09] in our pain. And Lord, I pray right now [02:36:12] for supernatural healing over people's [02:36:15] hearts. That you would turn the anger [02:36:17] and the bitterness into just passion and [02:36:21] hope for a future and eternity in you. [02:36:25] Father, I thank you for receiving our [02:36:27] friend Charlie Kirk. I thank you that he [02:36:30] is not in pain, that he's not in [02:36:33] sadness, he's not in loss, but he is now [02:36:35] in that great cloud of witnesses [02:36:38] cheering us on as we move forward. [02:36:42] And Lord, as he so often liked to quote, [02:36:46] Lord, may we embrace the call to follow [02:36:49] you and say, "Here I am, Lord. Send me." [02:36:55] We love you guys. Thank you for being [02:36:57] here tonight. God bless America. God [02:37:00] bless Charlie Kirk.
