[00:00:02] Ladies and gentlemen, the President of [00:00:05] the United States, Donald J. Trump. [00:00:09] [applause] [00:00:13] Thank you very much. [00:00:15] Thank you. This is a big deal. This is a [00:00:18] very big deal. People are going to save [00:00:20] a lot of money and be healthy. [00:00:23] So, we're here this evening to celebrate [00:00:27] the launch of one of the most [00:00:29] transformative healthc care initiatives [00:00:31] of all time. There's never been anything [00:00:34] like it. Starting tonight, dozens of the [00:00:37] most commonly used prescription drugs [00:00:39] will be available at dramatic discounts [00:00:42] for all consumers throughout a new [00:00:46] website. It's called trumprx.gov. [00:00:49] That's trumprx.gov. [00:00:52] gov. For years, politicians from both [00:00:55] parties have promised to bring down [00:00:57] prescription drug prices and make health [00:01:00] care more affordable, but they all [00:01:02] failed. It was all words as usual. They [00:01:05] failed and they failed badly. They tried [00:01:07] doing this. Some of them, most of them [00:01:09] didn't even try because they never [00:01:11] really had a shot at it. But I'm [00:01:14] actually getting it done and it is done. [00:01:16] Actually, this launch represents the [00:01:19] largest reduction in prescription drug [00:01:21] prices in history by many, many times. [00:01:24] And it's not even close. You're going to [00:01:26] see numbers that you're not going to [00:01:27] believe. Americans have long been paying [00:01:30] the highest drug prices anywhere in the [00:01:33] world. While other countries often paid [00:01:35] pennies on the dollar for the exact same [00:01:37] drugs, we were essentially subsidizing [00:01:40] the entire world and subsidizing by [00:01:43] hundreds of billions of dollars every [00:01:45] year. The United States is just 4% of [00:01:49] the world's population and consumes only [00:01:51] 13% of all prescription drugs. Yet [00:01:54] pharmaceutical companies have been [00:01:56] making 75% from these drugs. Think of [00:02:00] it. 75% [00:02:02] of the money they made came from the [00:02:04] United States with a smaller population [00:02:06] than what we will call the world. The [00:02:09] American people were effectively [00:02:11] subsidizing the cost of drugs for the [00:02:13] entire world. and it's not going to [00:02:15] happen any longer. We ended it. [00:02:17] Everybody knew it was unfair for 30 [00:02:19] years, but nobody did anything about it. [00:02:22] Under the most favored nation [00:02:24] agreements, my administration has [00:02:26] negotiated. The United States will pay [00:02:29] the lowest price paid by any other [00:02:32] country. So, we're taking the lowest [00:02:35] price paid for drugs. We will pay equal [00:02:39] to whatever the lowest price anywhere in [00:02:41] the world. That's the price that you're [00:02:44] going to be paying. It's a tremendous [00:02:46] reduction. Drug prices in other nations [00:02:49] will go up by doing this. They had to [00:02:51] agree. And the reason they agreed is I [00:02:53] use tariffs. I said, "If you don't put [00:02:55] them up, then we're going to put tariffs [00:02:57] on your nation, which will be more [00:02:59] expensive to you." So, in many cases, [00:03:02] the drug costs will go up by double and [00:03:04] even triple for them, but they're going [00:03:07] way down for the United States. come all [00:03:10] the way down by a difference of as much [00:03:11] as 300, 400, 500, even 600%, even more [00:03:15] than that in some cases. For example, [00:03:19] you will see dramatic reductions in the [00:03:21] cost of popular weight loss drugs known [00:03:24] as GLP1s. [00:03:27] GLP1s. [00:03:29] Novo Nordesk will be slashing the price [00:03:32] as an example of OMPic from more than [00:03:36] $1,000 to $199. [00:03:40] And the price of Wiggoi from more than [00:03:44] $1,300 [00:03:46] to $199. Nobody can even believe it. A [00:03:50] 578% [00:03:52] difference. Eli Lily, who's been very [00:03:55] helpful to us in getting this done, will [00:03:58] be cutting the cost of its common [00:04:00] insulin drug and medication from $200 to [00:04:04] $25. Nobody can believe it. $200 to $25. [00:04:10] Astroenica is slashing the price of a [00:04:12] common inhaler from $458 [00:04:16] to $51, a difference of nearly 800%. [00:04:21] And we're also delivering historic [00:04:23] discounts for couples struggling with [00:04:26] infertility as EMD Serrano will [00:04:29] dramatically cut the cost of its most [00:04:32] common IVF drugs. For [snorts] example, [00:04:34] a single dose of the most common IVF [00:04:37] drug in the country. Gonal F will [00:04:41] plummet from the highest price in the [00:04:44] developed world that we paid. The United [00:04:46] States was subsidizing everybody. We [00:04:48] paid the highest to the lowest price in [00:04:50] the world, which we'll be demonstrating [00:04:54] very shortly. We have some very talented [00:04:56] people coming up and showing you how [00:04:57] it's going to work and how the website [00:04:59] works. All of these discounts and more [00:05:01] will be available directly to consumers [00:05:04] starting today at trumprx.gov. [00:05:08] In just a moment, we will demonstrate [00:05:10] how you can go to the website, get a [00:05:13] coupon, and pick up your heavily [00:05:14] discounted prescription drugs. Highest [00:05:17] level drugs, the highest level company, [00:05:20] finest in the world, biggest in the [00:05:22] world, most powerful drug companies in [00:05:25] the world. And we had to go through [00:05:27] them. And then we had to get all of [00:05:28] these countries worldwide to lower their [00:05:30] prices and for us, help us lower our [00:05:33] price. And what they did is again their [00:05:36] prices went up by double tw triple and [00:05:39] even sometimes four and five times. But [00:05:42] the dozens of commonly used drugs [00:05:44] available today are just the beginning. [00:05:46] 16 of the 17 largest pharmaceutical [00:05:50] companies have signed agreements and the [00:05:52] other one is coming. He believe me [00:05:53] they're coming. committing that going [00:05:56] forward all new medicines they bring to [00:05:58] the market in the United States will be [00:06:00] available at most favored nation prices [00:06:04] for those that don't know that means in [00:06:06] the entire world most favored we get the [00:06:10] most favored the lowest price so if [00:06:13] somebody gets a great price that's great [00:06:15] for us because we get it so this is the [00:06:17] exact opposite of what's been happening [00:06:19] for the last 30 plus years this policy [00:06:22] which is a key pillar of the great [00:06:25] health care plan is going to bring [00:06:27] co-pays plummeting down and save [00:06:29] Americans billions and billions of [00:06:31] dollars making health care much more [00:06:33] affordable like at a level that you [00:06:35] couldn't believe in my first [00:06:37] administration I kept drugs pretty even. [00:06:41] I thought I was doing a great job but [00:06:43] this is really the great job. There's [00:06:45] never been anything like it. Nobody [00:06:46] thought it was possible to get it done. [00:06:48] And it's the biggest thing to happen in [00:06:50] healthcare, I think, in many, many [00:06:52] decades. Under these agreements, the top [00:06:56] pharmaceutical companies will also be [00:06:58] investing hundreds of billions of [00:07:00] dollars to bring drug manufacturing back [00:07:03] to America. It's already happening. [00:07:04] They're building plants all over the [00:07:06] country. Eli Liy is building six plants [00:07:08] with billions and billions of dollars [00:07:10] each, which means jobs, economic growth, [00:07:13] factory openings, and far greater [00:07:16] national security. And it's a really a [00:07:18] big factor was the tariffs. We're [00:07:20] charging very substantial tariffs for [00:07:23] companies that don't want to make their [00:07:25] drugs or pharmaceuticals and automobiles [00:07:28] and other things. If they don't want to [00:07:30] make them in the United States have to [00:07:32] pay very big penalties in the form of [00:07:33] tariffs. And what that means is they're [00:07:36] all coming here. Every industry is [00:07:38] coming here. We're taking in more than [00:07:40] $18 trillion into the United States [00:07:43] because of tariffs of companies. The [00:07:45] only way they can avoid them is to build [00:07:48] here. They avoid paying the tariff. Now, [00:07:50] they've been doing that countries to us [00:07:53] for 30 years. That's how we lost so much [00:07:56] business. They were drying up our our [00:08:00] country. They were we were losing [00:08:02] factories. We were losing jobs like [00:08:04] nobody's ever seen for many, many years. [00:08:06] And now it's all been reversed. And [00:08:08] we've never had a period. This is the [00:08:10] wealthiest our country has ever been. We [00:08:13] have hundreds of billions of dollars a [00:08:15] year pouring in and we're taking [00:08:18] advantage of it. I want to give a [00:08:19] special thanks to Airbnb co-founder and [00:08:22] now much more importantly the chief [00:08:25] design officer of the United States Joe [00:08:27] Gibbia and the entire team at the [00:08:30] National Design Studio. They're [00:08:32] unbelievably talented people. This group [00:08:35] of geniuses could be doing anything [00:08:37] right now. They could have been making a [00:08:39] big fortune out there, but they decided [00:08:41] they want to be with the government and [00:08:43] do exactly what you're going to see [00:08:45] tonight and also some other things [00:08:47] having to do with our country. And I [00:08:48] want to thank Joe. With their help, our [00:08:51] American by Design initiative will fully [00:08:53] transform our most dated federal systems [00:08:56] and services, providing Americans the [00:08:59] richest, most beautiful, and most [00:09:01] user-friendly government experience in [00:09:03] the entire world. We have the greatest [00:09:05] designers in the entire world and [00:09:08] they're with our country. They love our [00:09:10] country. That's why they're doing it. So [00:09:11] now I'd like to invite administrator of [00:09:15] the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid [00:09:18] Services. Incredible guy, a really [00:09:20] brilliant man, Dr. Memed Oz to show us [00:09:23] how this beautiful new website works. [00:09:26] And Dr. Oz, come on. Let's see what you [00:09:29] can tell us. Thank you. By the way, [00:09:32] everybody, you're going to save a [00:09:33] fortune and this is also so good for [00:09:36] overall health care. And Oz, you've done [00:09:39] a fantastic job. Thank you very much. [00:09:41] >> Thank you, sir. So, you you demanded, [00:09:43] president demanded [applause] [00:09:46] that we have most favorite nation drug [00:09:50] pricing, which he explained beautifully. [00:09:52] Today, you can now get access to these [00:09:56] discounted, steeply discounted prices. [00:09:58] All the hard work the president and the [00:10:00] administration have done now is yours. [00:10:02] But you have to go check trumprx.gov. So [00:10:04] if you have access, please log on right [00:10:06] now. It's free. You get to look at all [00:10:09] the prices and you should not be buying [00:10:11] drugs anymore going forward without at [00:10:14] least checking to see if those [00:10:15] medications are available at these [00:10:16] discounted prices on trumpx.gov. [00:10:19] That stated, Mr. President, many people [00:10:21] don't appreciate this, but one of the [00:10:22] most special things you've been able to [00:10:24] do besides negotiating these kinds of [00:10:26] deals is bring wonderful people around [00:10:28] you who can actually fulfill the dream [00:10:30] of making drugs accessible so Americans [00:10:32] no longer suffer that affordability [00:10:34] issue. One in three Americans are turned [00:10:36] away from the drug store. They can't [00:10:37] afford the drugs no more. Our most [00:10:38] vulnerable are protected. To do that, [00:10:40] you need brilliant software engineers. [00:10:42] And Ed Corstein led a wonderful group [00:10:44] that you hired, folks again would never [00:10:46] normally have come to the government to [00:10:47] work to make this possible. and Joe just [00:10:50] a superstar and he's going to take us [00:10:51] through the website. [00:10:52] >> Well, thanks Dr. Oz, Mr. President. I've [00:10:55] >> I've launched some big websites and um [00:10:58] this is one I think uh you're going to [00:10:59] be very proud of. Um so you mentioned [00:11:01] Gonol. I think this is an interesting [00:11:03] drug that we can check and see how do [00:11:05] you find a drug on the site. So we'll [00:11:07] pull up the website here. Uh this is [00:11:09] trumpx.gov [00:11:11] and I'm going to start at the search bar [00:11:13] where I can search by the drug name. So [00:11:15] I type in gonolof and I see it [00:11:17] autocompletes. When I click on this, I [00:11:19] have a beautiful page that shows the [00:11:22] drug product. And right at the top, I [00:11:24] see this is 83% off the original price. [00:11:27] Now, how do I get this discount? I take [00:11:30] this coupon and I bring it to the [00:11:32] pharmacy. I can print it out. I can add [00:11:34] it to my wallet on my phone, whether [00:11:36] it's an Apple or an Android. I show it [00:11:39] to the pharmacist and I get the the [00:11:40] coupon credit right at the register. [00:11:44] Now, this is an intelligent site. We [00:11:46] know that there's other drugs that are [00:11:48] commonly prescribed along with this. So, [00:11:50] we surface them here and they work with [00:11:51] the same coupon. Okay. Next. Whaties can [00:11:55] you go to to get this drug? It's a smart [00:11:57] site. We pull up exactly where you can [00:11:59] go to get this. Now, go on a left is a [00:12:02] specialty drug. So, you get it through [00:12:03] the mail. I can call any one of [00:12:06] thesearmacies and they deliver it [00:12:07] straight to my home. It's that simple. [00:12:10] Mr. President, one in three families is [00:12:12] having trouble having a baby. We're [00:12:13] going to have a lot of Trump babies with [00:12:15] these costs. Folks cannot afford these [00:12:17] medications. It's it's going to change [00:12:18] their lives. Now, this is the tip of the [00:12:20] iceberg because Joe did a lot more with [00:12:22] Ed and the rest of the National Design [00:12:24] Studio. How many more medications do you [00:12:26] have? [00:12:26] >> Well, the website launches with over 40 [00:12:28] magic medications. Uh ones that are the [00:12:31] popular medications and ones that were [00:12:33] previously very expensive. These are [00:12:35] things like asthma inhalers, the GLP1s. [00:12:38] And on Trump RX, uh, you can actually [00:12:40] find things like the weight loss shots [00:12:42] and also new form factors like the [00:12:44] weight shot, the weight loss pill. Let's [00:12:47] click on this and see the discount for [00:12:48] the pill. 89% off the original price. As [00:12:53] you mentioned, Americans for the first [00:12:55] time are getting the lowest cost price [00:12:57] drugs like the rest of the world is. And [00:12:59] we're not done. We're adding more and [00:13:01] more drugs week over week. So going [00:13:04] forward, it's an invitation to the [00:13:06] nation to check trumprx.gov anytime you [00:13:10] get a prescription. [00:13:11] >> Mr. President, we're breaking news. This [00:13:13] weight loss shot that you've talked [00:13:14] about a lot. This is a weight loss pill. [00:13:17] >> And with these pills, which are actually [00:13:18] even less expensive than the shots, we [00:13:21] project that America will lose about a [00:13:23] 100 million pounds this year, which is [00:13:25] going to make not only folks a lot [00:13:26] healthier, but a lot easier to manage [00:13:28] when they do get ill. But I'm [00:13:30] particularly drawn, as I know you are, [00:13:32] to the plight of folks, young couples [00:13:34] trying to have children. And that first [00:13:36] medication, one of the first ones we did [00:13:37] most favoration drug pricing on has [00:13:39] helped immense number of folks. But the [00:13:42] first person to use Trump rx.gov to buy [00:13:44] golaf is here. And I wanted to introduce [00:13:46] her to you if you don't mind. [00:13:47] Katherine's with us. Oh, perfect. [00:13:50] Secretary Kenny's going to escort her. [00:13:54] [applause] [00:13:59] >> Good evening. I'm incredibly honored to [00:14:02] be here tonight. I'm a military spouse [00:14:05] and my husband and I have been [00:14:06] navigating infertility and IVF for 5 [00:14:09] years, a journey that has included [00:14:12] profound loss. Through that experience, [00:14:15] we have come to understand how critical [00:14:17] access to affordable fertility [00:14:19] medication truly is. Medications like [00:14:22] Gonal F and access to them have been [00:14:24] essential to our treatment and to our [00:14:26] hope of success. IVF demands [00:14:29] extraordinary physical and emotional [00:14:32] strength. [00:14:34] But for so many families, the financial [00:14:36] burden can be just as heavy and at times [00:14:39] overwhelming. [00:14:41] The president's leadership on price [00:14:43] transparency and on reducing the cost of [00:14:45] medications, some of which are essential [00:14:47] in my fertility treatments, has a real [00:14:50] and immediate impact. Families like [00:14:52] ours, it can mean the difference between [00:14:55] being able to continue treatment or [00:14:57] having no choice but to stop. These [00:15:00] efforts help ensure that IVF remains [00:15:03] within reach for families who are doing [00:15:05] everything that they can to build a [00:15:07] future. families who should not have to [00:15:10] choose between financial stability and [00:15:12] the chance to have a child. For that [00:15:15] commitment and leadership, we are [00:15:16] greatly thank thankful. Thank you. [00:15:19] >> Thank you very much. [applause] [00:15:27] >> Well, Oz and everybody, I want to thank [00:15:29] you for the job. Joe, what a job you do. [00:15:31] Bobby is back here who is so [00:15:34] instrumental. He's doing such a [00:15:35] fantastic job. Who would have thought a [00:15:37] Kennedy we love a Kennedy in the [00:15:39] Republican party? But there's been no uh [00:15:42] no better advocate for what we're doing [00:15:44] than Bobby Kennedy Jr. So I just want to [00:15:48] leave you with this. Uh you're going to [00:15:50] save tremendous amounts of money. Go to [00:15:52] the site. We have many of them and in a [00:15:54] very short period of time we'll have [00:15:56] just about all of them and they'll be [00:15:58] available for differences of five, six, [00:16:01] 700% even in some cases more than that. [00:16:05] Uh we're tired of subsidizing the world. [00:16:07] We have to put America first. If you [00:16:09] think about it, that's exactly what [00:16:10] we're doing. We want to take care of [00:16:11] everybody, but we have to put America [00:16:13] first. So, this is going to have a huge [00:16:15] impact on healthcare, no matter which [00:16:17] plan they come up with. Drugs and [00:16:19] prescription drugs, they form a big [00:16:21] part. And now you're going to be getting [00:16:23] those drugs at numbers, not with a one [00:16:26] or two or a 10% discount, but think of [00:16:29] it, 80%, [00:16:32] 90% in some cases, numbers that nobody's [00:16:34] even thought possible. So, I just want [00:16:36] to thank our entire team. They have so [00:16:38] many people here that have worked so [00:16:39] hard. And again, Joe and Oz and Bobby, [00:16:42] thank you very much. Great job. And [00:16:44] congratulations to you and all that [00:16:46] money you're saving. Okay. [00:16:47] >> Thank you. Thank you very much, [00:16:49] everybody. Appreciate it. Thank you. [00:16:51] Thank you. very much. [applause]
