[00:00:03] Please welcome the chairman of the board
[00:00:05] of peace, the president of the United
[00:00:07] States of America, Donald J. Trump.
[00:00:11] [applause]

[00:00:28] >> [applause]
[00:00:37] >> Thank you very much.
[00:00:41] Well, this is a very exciting day,
[00:00:45] long in the making,
[00:00:47] and many countries uh have just received
[00:00:49] their notice, and everybody wants to be
[00:00:52] a part of it, and we'll work with many
[00:00:55] others, including the United Nations.
[00:00:59] But I want to thank you all for being
[00:01:00] here. Yesterday we had a incredibly
[00:01:03] successful visit with many of the
[00:01:05] world's top business leaders, the best,
[00:01:08] the biggest, most successful and foreign
[00:01:12] heads of state. And now we have one of
[00:01:14] the most important meetings of all, the
[00:01:16] official formation of what is known as
[00:01:20] the Board of Peace.
[00:01:23] I want to thank the Secretary of State
[00:01:26] Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Whitco
[00:01:29] and Jared Kushner and their
[00:01:32] extraordinary work. I mean, they have
[00:01:33] done an amazing job. We have peace in
[00:01:36] the Middle East. Nobody thought that was
[00:01:38] possible.
[00:01:40] We've settled eight wars and I believe
[00:01:43] another one's coming pretty soon. You
[00:01:45] know what that is? The one that I
[00:01:47] thought was going to be an easy one.
[00:01:49] turned out to be probably the most
[00:01:51] difficult. Last month,
[00:01:54] 29,000 people died, mostly soldiers.
[00:01:58] Ukraine, Russia, think of that. 29,000
[00:02:02] 27,000 in the month before, 26,000 in
[00:02:06] the month before that. It's terrible.
[00:02:10] But we have meetings and we think we're
[00:02:12] making a lot of progress.
[00:02:14] Thanks as well to Secretary Scott
[00:02:16] Bessent, Howard Lutnik, and Chris
[00:02:19] Wright,
[00:02:20] US Trade Representative Jameson Greer.
[00:02:23] They're all doing such an incredible
[00:02:24] job. Ambassador
[00:02:27] Kalista Gingrich, who is here and doing
[00:02:30] a fantastic, really fantastic work.
[00:02:33] Thank you, Kalista, and many other
[00:02:35] members of my administration who are so
[00:02:38] committed to peace and they're also
[00:02:40] committed to great success.
[00:02:42] Very importantly, let me recognize the
[00:02:44] very first group of distinguished
[00:02:46] members of the board of peace. They will
[00:02:49] be introduced by name in just a moment.
[00:02:53] Caroline will be doing
[00:02:56] that introduction.
[00:02:58] And each and every one of you, we are
[00:02:59] truly honored by your presence today.
[00:03:02] Leaders of countries and most cases very
[00:03:06] popular leaders. Some cases not so
[00:03:08] popular, but that's the way it goes in
[00:03:10] life. Thanks as well to President Carol
[00:03:15] Naraki of Poland who's fantastic man. He
[00:03:18] just won a very big election.
[00:03:21] Very proud of him.
[00:03:25] [applause]
[00:03:27] Amazing. Along with former Prime
[00:03:30] Minister of the United Kingdom Tony
[00:03:32] Blair. Thank you Tony for being here. We
[00:03:33] appreciate it. [applause]
[00:03:36] And members of the Board of Peace
[00:03:39] Executive Board. Great group.
[00:03:41] This week marks the one-year anniversary
[00:03:44] of my second inauguration as president.
[00:03:46] No administration in history has
[00:03:48] achieved such a sweeping turnaround in
[00:03:51] 12 months time at home and abroad. We
[00:03:53] have a tremendous mandate. We won the
[00:03:55] popular vote by millions. We won every
[00:03:59] every swing state to seven. They were
[00:04:02] saying, "Can he win all seven? Is it
[00:04:05] possible?" Because it's not done. And we
[00:04:07] won all seven. We have a great mandate
[00:04:10] back at home. As I said yesterday, the
[00:04:12] US economy is booming with virtually no
[00:04:15] inflation.
[00:04:17] It was 1.2% for the last 3 months. And
[00:04:21] we inherited the worst inflation in the
[00:04:23] history of our country. And we have
[00:04:26] economic growth now of 5.4% looks like.
[00:04:30] And I think that number can double and
[00:04:31] triple if we do the right things. And if
[00:04:34] we change thinking so that if you
[00:04:36] announce good numbers the markets go up
[00:04:38] instead of if you announce good numbers
[00:04:40] the market goes down because everybody
[00:04:41] tries to kill it by lowering or raising
[00:04:44] interest rates depending on the
[00:04:46] situation. When America booms the entire
[00:04:48] world booms and we have secured
[00:04:52] commitments for over 18 trillion dollars
[00:04:55] in new investment coming into our
[00:04:57] country which is a record by many times
[00:05:00] over. Not just by a little bit by many
[00:05:02] times. There's no country ever in
[00:05:05] history that's gotten anywhere near that
[00:05:06] number. Slashed our trade deficit by
[00:05:10] 77%.
[00:05:13] This is in one year. Yesterday was one
[00:05:16] year and signed historic trade deals
[00:05:18] with nations from all over the globe.
[00:05:22] Today, the world is richer, safer, and
[00:05:25] much more peaceful than it was just one
[00:05:28] year ago. We put out all those fires. A
[00:05:30] lot of people didn't know including me
[00:05:32] that some of those wars were going on
[00:05:35] and some of them were going on for in
[00:05:37] one case 32 years and another case 35
[00:05:40] years and another one 37 years.
[00:05:44] We were very happy to stop the war that
[00:05:46] had started with India and Pakistan two
[00:05:50] nuclear nations. And I was very honored
[00:05:52] when the prime minister of Pakistan said
[00:05:55] President Trump saved 10 and maybe 20
[00:05:59] million lives by getting that stopped
[00:06:02] just before bad things were going to
[00:06:05] happen. As president, I ended those
[00:06:08] eight wars in nine months, including
[00:06:11] Cambodia and Thailand. And by the way,
[00:06:13] many of the leaders are here. Kosovo and
[00:06:17] Serbia, the Democratic Republic of the
[00:06:20] Congo and Rwanda,
[00:06:23] Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran,
[00:06:28] Egypt and Ethiopia. We're working on
[00:06:30] that right now. I met yesterday with a
[00:06:36] very good general and a very good leader
[00:06:38] of Egypt. We're working on a dam that
[00:06:41] was built which precludes the Nile River
[00:06:44] from getting water. That was it's a
[00:06:47] little tough situation,
[00:06:49] but uh we'll get that settled. I really
[00:06:51] had it just about settled
[00:06:54] in my first term and then we had a a
[00:06:57] rigged election. Took me out of
[00:06:58] commission for a little while, but here
[00:07:00] I am back. We'll get it settled.
[00:07:03] But it's a pretty tough situation. A dam
[00:07:05] was built and the water doesn't come
[00:07:07] down to the N. When I think of Egypt, I
[00:07:09] think of the now, but I think of the now
[00:07:11] with water in it.
[00:07:14] Armenia and Azeraijan,
[00:07:17] who I mean, a lot of these leaders have
[00:07:19] become my friends. They become my
[00:07:20] friends. They're here. And of course,
[00:07:22] the war in Gaza, which is really coming
[00:07:27] to an end. We have little fires that
[00:07:31] we'll put out, but they're little. They
[00:07:32] were giant giant massive
[00:07:36] fires and now they're down to little
[00:07:38] fires and we can put them out very
[00:07:39] easily. We have 59 countries that are
[00:07:42] involved in peace in the Middle East.
[00:07:44] Many of them not in the Middle East.
[00:07:45] They're near the Middle East but they're
[00:07:47] not in the Middle East and many have
[00:07:49] said that if Hamas doesn't do what they
[00:07:53] promised they would do, and I think they
[00:07:55] probably will, but they were born with
[00:07:57] rifles in their hands. They were
[00:07:59] literally born that first day they had a
[00:08:02] rifle put into their hands. But they
[00:08:05] have to give up their weapons and if
[00:08:06] they don't do that uh it's going to be
[00:08:09] the end of them. But many countries have
[00:08:13] told me we we want to go in and do it.
[00:08:15] And they really aren't countries that
[00:08:16] you traditionally think of as being
[00:08:18] involved in that. But that's uh a fire.
[00:08:23] Hezbollah and Lebanon. We have to do
[00:08:25] something about that. But these are I
[00:08:28] call them remnants. They're small
[00:08:29] remnants compared to what it was before.
[00:08:32] It was massive,
[00:08:34] large, powerful countries fighting each
[00:08:36] other. In another great victory for the
[00:08:39] ultimate goal of peace in June, we
[00:08:41] obliterated Iran's nuclear enrichment
[00:08:44] capacity with
[00:08:46] uh operation, we call it operation
[00:08:48] midnight hammer. And it was it was
[00:08:50] midnight. It was dark, no moon. And
[00:08:52] every single one of those bombs from the
[00:08:54] B2 bombers hit the air shafts and went
[00:08:56] deep into the earth and totally
[00:08:59] obliterated everything that they were
[00:09:01] doing. They were two months away from
[00:09:03] having a nuclear weapon. Can't let that
[00:09:05] happen.
[00:09:07] And Iran does want to talk and we'll
[00:09:10] talk. We've also hit ISIS and Syria and
[00:09:15] very strongly as you know. In my first
[00:09:18] administration,
[00:09:19] I took out Al Baghdaddy, the founder of
[00:09:23] ISIS, and he was trying to start it up
[00:09:25] again because due to the tremendous
[00:09:26] talent of General Raisin Kaine, as I
[00:09:29] call him, uh he wiped out ISIS in a
[00:09:33] period of three weeks in my first term.
[00:09:34] You know, we had a great first term, but
[00:09:37] the second term is, I think, blowing it
[00:09:39] away actually.
[00:09:41] But we uh took out ISIS and we hit uh it
[00:09:45] was it was gone. But during the Biden
[00:09:47] administration, it formed again a little
[00:09:49] bit. We hit it very hard in Syria. And
[00:09:52] Syria, by the way, spoke with the
[00:09:53] president, is making a lot of progress,
[00:09:55] tremendous progress, actually. We're
[00:09:57] very happy about that. We took off all
[00:09:59] sanctions, which gives them a chance to
[00:10:02] breathe. And uh he's he's he is working
[00:10:06] very very hard and think he's going to
[00:10:08] put it all together.
[00:10:10] So many things are happening, many good
[00:10:13] things. Uh threats to Europe and
[00:10:16] America, the Middle East and uh other
[00:10:19] places are really calming down. It's a
[00:10:23] lot different than it was just one year
[00:10:26] ago. Just one year ago, the world was
[00:10:27] actually on fire. A lot of people didn't
[00:10:29] know it. And in Nigeria, we're
[00:10:32] annihilating terrorists who are killing
[00:10:34] Christians. We've hit them very hard.
[00:10:37] They've killed thousands and thousands
[00:10:40] of Christians. What's that all about?
[00:10:42] Much of this unprecedented success is
[00:10:45] possible because I rebuilt our military
[00:10:47] in my first term and now we're making
[00:10:49] [clears throat] it even stronger. We
[00:10:51] have a budget of over a trillion dollars
[00:10:54] this year and next year we're going to
[00:10:57] 1.5 trillion. Our country's never done
[00:10:59] better economically. We're taking in
[00:11:02] numbers that we've never taken in. Not
[00:11:05] only the fact that the investment is at
[00:11:07] 18 trillion plus, but uh we're our jobs
[00:11:11] numbers, everything is
[00:11:14] I think maybe better than ever before. I
[00:11:16] think you're going to see some and a lot
[00:11:17] of you are investing in our country. I
[00:11:19] think you're going to be extremely happy
[00:11:20] with your investments. I think you'll
[00:11:22] see numbers like you haven't seen
[00:11:23] before.
[00:11:24] I also secured commitments from
[00:11:26] virtually all NATO allies to increase
[00:11:29] their defense spending to 5% of GDP.
[00:11:33] Everybody but Spain, I don't know what's
[00:11:35] happening with Spain. Why would they not
[00:11:36] do that? They want a free ride, I guess.
[00:11:39] Huh?
[00:11:41] Every country but Spain increased to 5%.
[00:11:44] I don't know why. We're going to have to
[00:11:45] talk to Spain.
[00:11:47] With America's renewed attention to
[00:11:50] security of the Western Hemisphere, I've
[00:11:52] stopped the invasion on our southern
[00:11:54] border and designated the drug cartels
[00:11:56] as foreign terrorist organizations.
[00:12:00] And you probably saw that we've stopped
[00:12:03] virtually stopped almost 100% all drugs
[00:12:05] coming in by water. And now we're going
[00:12:06] to stop them on land. The land is easy.
[00:12:09] The water is tough.
[00:12:11] But that's down now. I said I heard it
[00:12:14] just last night. It was 97. Now it's
[00:12:17] 98.1%
[00:12:19] and we're trying to figure out who are
[00:12:20] the 2% that are willing to get onto
[00:12:22] those boats. I don't think they watch
[00:12:25] television or the news.
[00:12:28] But we've taken out almost 100% of all
[00:12:30] of the drugs coming into the United
[00:12:32] States by water and now we'll I think
[00:12:35] very easily stop them on land. That's
[00:12:36] the easy part. We wanted to wait till
[00:12:39] the other was taken care of. Earlier
[00:12:41] this month, thanks to the unrivaled
[00:12:44] skill, power, and might of the US
[00:12:46] military, we have the most powerful
[00:12:47] military in the world by far, we
[00:12:50] captured the outlaw dictator, Nicholas
[00:12:53] Maduro, and the people of Venezuela.
[00:12:56] Very happy about it. And we're having
[00:12:59] great relationships with the leaders of
[00:13:02] the new leaders of Venezuela. The
[00:13:04] relationships have been good. We're
[00:13:06] opening up the country to our giant oil
[00:13:09] companies.
[00:13:11] And uh it's going very well. We've
[00:13:13] already taken out, think of this, 50
[00:13:16] million barrels of oil and a lot of
[00:13:19] that's going to go back to Venezuela.
[00:13:21] They'll do more income with us in a
[00:13:24] short period of time than they did in
[00:13:26] years because as much oil as they have,
[00:13:29] and they have a lot, just about the
[00:13:30] most. After us, there's a couple of
[00:13:34] countries that are in that category, but
[00:13:36] we have the most actually, and they're
[00:13:39] second between Venezuela and us. We have
[00:13:41] 62% of the world's oil, but they have
[00:13:45] very little production. So, they'll have
[00:13:47] a lot of production. And all the oil
[00:13:48] companies, we had meetings, you probably
[00:13:50] saw all the oil companies want to go in.
[00:13:52] They want to go in immediately. We're
[00:13:53] already they're already touring the
[00:13:55] sites. But our military was amazing.
[00:13:58] That strike was amazing. We had a second
[00:14:00] wave coming. We didn't need it. They
[00:14:02] said no second wave. We don't want a
[00:14:04] second wave. The first wave was enough.
[00:14:07] And of course, we're working to end the
[00:14:10] horrible killing in Ukraine, a war that
[00:14:13] should never have happened and would
[00:14:15] have never happened if I were president.
[00:14:17] That was not going to happen.
[00:14:20] I used to speak to Vladimir Putin about
[00:14:23] Ukraine and it was the apple of his eye,
[00:14:25] but he would never have ever done it.
[00:14:26] Said, "You can't do that, Vladimir."
[00:14:30] As part of this historic record of major
[00:14:32] peace initiatives. Today, we're
[00:14:34] announcing more details regarding the
[00:14:37] Board of Peace. So important. This board
[00:14:39] has the chance to be one of the most
[00:14:41] consequential bodies ever created. And
[00:14:44] it's my enormous honor to serve as its
[00:14:47] chairman. I was very honored when they
[00:14:48] asked me to do it. We had an idea to do
[00:14:51] it and then they came they said we you
[00:14:52] be the chairman and uh but I I take it
[00:14:56] very seriously. We have a great group of
[00:14:58] people and incredible
[00:15:01] young people that are leading it from
[00:15:04] within.
[00:15:06] Uh [clears throat] it's running
[00:15:07] beautifully started already and every
[00:15:10] country just about every country wants
[00:15:12] to be a part of it.
[00:15:14] and uh we just sent out the letters a
[00:15:17] couple of days ago and these are just
[00:15:18] the countries that are here. They happen
[00:15:20] to be in Davos. So we said would be
[00:15:23] honored if you wanted to join us up in
[00:15:26] the stage
[00:15:27] and it's uh really great. They're
[00:15:30] friends of mine. I think let me see.
[00:15:34] Yeah, every one of them is a friend of
[00:15:35] mine. Couple A couple. Let's see. A
[00:15:38] couple I like. Couple I don't like. No,
[00:15:42] I like actually this group. I like every
[00:15:44] single one of them. Can you believe it?
[00:15:45] Usually I have about two or three that I
[00:15:47] can't stand.
[00:15:49] Usually I have two or three that I don't
[00:15:50] like. I don't find them up here. I like
[00:15:52] every one of these people. No, they're
[00:15:54] great people. They're great leaders. And
[00:15:57] the Bord of Peace is composed of
[00:15:59] leaders, the top leaders in the world.
[00:16:01] Actually, last October, we released a
[00:16:04] plan for the permanent end to the
[00:16:07] conflict in Gaza. And I'm pleased to say
[00:16:09] that our vision was unanimously adopted
[00:16:12] by the United Nations Security Council
[00:16:14] late last year.
[00:16:16] Under phase one of this plan, we have
[00:16:19] painstakingly maintained that Gaza and
[00:16:22] we're going to have it very strongly and
[00:16:24] it's what we have
[00:16:26] maintained the Gaza ceasefire, delivered
[00:16:29] record levels of humanitarian aid. We've
[00:16:31] given aid, you know, you used to hear
[00:16:33] all the people were starving and it was
[00:16:34] terrible. Now, we have, you don't hear
[00:16:37] that anymore. We've delivered record
[00:16:39] levels of humanitarian aid. I want to
[00:16:42] thank the United States, but I want to
[00:16:44] thank some of the countries, some of the
[00:16:45] countries that are sitting right up here
[00:16:48] because they've sent great aid, great uh
[00:16:51] aid also in the form of money where we
[00:16:53] go out and purchase food. And you don't
[00:16:56] hear those stories anymore with people
[00:16:58] starving. and secured the release of all
[00:17:01] 20, you know, we secured the release of
[00:17:03] all 20 living hostages. Now, I want to
[00:17:06] thank Steve Witco and Jared and
[00:17:08] everybody for doing working so hard.
[00:17:10] They worked so hard, but there were 20
[00:17:13] remaining living hostages. Now, we got
[00:17:16] hundreds out, but the last 20, I said,
[00:17:18] "Boy, that's going to be a tough one." I
[00:17:20] said that a year before, and it was a
[00:17:22] tough one, but we got them. Got all 20,
[00:17:25] every one of them. And we had also about
[00:17:29] 28 that were dead, but the parents
[00:17:33] wanted them just as though they were
[00:17:34] living just as much. Some cases it
[00:17:37] almost seem more. It was amazing
[00:17:40] actually the love and but their their
[00:17:42] boy had been killed
[00:17:46] in just about all cases. young men,
[00:17:50] their baby, their boy had been killed
[00:17:52] and they wanted the body of the boy. And
[00:17:55] uh it looked like it couldn't be done.
[00:17:56] And with the exception of one, and we're
[00:18:01] close on the track of that, we've got
[00:18:02] them all, every single one of them,
[00:18:04] which is amazing. It's a rough job. That
[00:18:07] was a rough job. And I've been very
[00:18:09] clear that Hamas
[00:18:12] must return that last remaining deceased
[00:18:16] hostage as well. and that will be the
[00:18:18] full commitment. And then we get on to
[00:18:20] other things. And we're committed to
[00:18:22] ensuring Gaza is demilitarized, properly
[00:18:26] governed, and beautifully rebuilt. It's
[00:18:29] going to be a great plan, and that's
[00:18:30] where the border peace really started.
[00:18:33] And I think we can spread out to other
[00:18:35] things as as we succeed with Gaza. We're
[00:18:38] going to be very successful in Gaza.
[00:18:41] It's going to be a great thing to watch.
[00:18:44] And we can do other things. We can do
[00:18:46] numerous other things. Once this board
[00:18:48] is completely formed, we can do pretty
[00:18:49] much whatever we want to do. And we'll
[00:18:51] do it in conjunction with the United
[00:18:52] Nations. You know, I've always said the
[00:18:55] United Nations has got tremendous
[00:18:57] potential, has not used it, but there's
[00:19:01] tremendous potential in the United
[00:19:02] Nations, and you have some great people
[00:19:05] at the United Nations, but uh so far it
[00:19:09] hasn't. You know, on on the eight wars
[00:19:11] that I ended, I never spoke to the
[00:19:12] United Nations about any of them. And
[00:19:15] you would think that I should have. You
[00:19:17] would think they could have done those
[00:19:19] eight wars, but they couldn't have. And
[00:19:21] they tried, I guess, in some of them,
[00:19:23] but they didn't try hard enough. But
[00:19:25] there's tremendous potential with the
[00:19:27] United Nations. And I think the
[00:19:28] combination of the board of peace with
[00:19:31] the kind of people we have here coupled
[00:19:33] with the United Nations can be, you
[00:19:35] know, something very, very unique for
[00:19:37] the world. It's for the world. This
[00:19:38] isn't United States. This is for the
[00:19:40] world. As everyone can see today, the
[00:19:43] first steps toward a brighter day for
[00:19:45] the Middle East and a much safer future
[00:19:47] for the world are unfolding right before
[00:19:49] your very eyes.
[00:19:51] Together, we are are in a position to
[00:19:55] have an incredible chance. I don't even
[00:19:56] call it a chance. I think it's going to
[00:19:58] happen to end decades of suffering, stop
[00:20:01] generations of hatred and bloodshed, and
[00:20:03] forge a beautiful, everlasting, and
[00:20:05] glorious peace for that region and for
[00:20:08] the whole region
[00:20:11] of the world because I'm calling the
[00:20:13] world a region. The world is a region.
[00:20:16] We're going to have peace in the world.
[00:20:17] And boy, would that be a great legacy
[00:20:19] for all of us. Everybody in this room is
[00:20:22] a star or you wouldn't be here. There's
[00:20:25] a reason that you're here. And you're
[00:20:27] all stars. You're the biggest people,
[00:20:30] the most important people in the world,
[00:20:31] most powerful people in the world. And
[00:20:34] when you use that genius of that you
[00:20:36] have, that very unusual, very uh
[00:20:40] inspired genius, when you use that for
[00:20:43] peace,
[00:20:45] uh the opposite of peace has no chance.
[00:20:47] So I just want to say uh it's tremendous
[00:20:49] to be with you and I think this is
[00:20:51] something that we're we're doing that's
[00:20:53] very important. This is the most
[00:20:55] important. I was so looking forward to
[00:20:58] being here and yesterday was a
[00:21:00] tremendous success. A lot of good things
[00:21:02] happened but this was something that I
[00:21:04] really wanted to be here and do and I
[00:21:06] could think of no better place because
[00:21:07] so many people were together. And now to
[00:21:10] bring the border of peace into full
[00:21:12] force. I ask shake Isa of Bahrain and
[00:21:16] foreign minister Berita of Morocco to
[00:21:20] join me in signing and ratifying the
[00:21:23] board of peace charter. Thank you very
[00:21:26] much everybody. Appreciate it. Thank
[00:21:27] you. [applause]
[00:21:38] >> [applause]
[00:21:42] >> Sit down.
[00:21:47] Sit down.
[00:22:20] Okay.
[00:22:28] >> [applause]
[00:22:32] >> Congratulations, President Trump. The
[00:22:34] charter is now in full force and the
[00:22:36] Board of Peace is now an official
[00:22:38] international organization.
[00:22:43] [applause]
[00:22:46] We will now continue the signing
[00:22:48] ceremonies beginning with the President
[00:22:50] of Argentina and the Prime Minister of
[00:22:53] Armenia. All
[00:22:56] >> [applause]
[00:23:20] >> right.
[00:23:26] >> [applause]
[00:23:32] >> Next up, the president of the Republic
[00:23:34] of Azerbaijan and the prime minister of
[00:23:37] the Republic of Bulgaria.
[00:23:41] [applause]
[00:24:13] Thank you. [applause]
[00:24:17] Next, the prime minister of Hungary and
[00:24:19] the President of the Republic of
[00:24:21] Indonesia.
[00:24:42] [laughter]
[00:24:43] Take it easy.
[00:25:11] >> [applause]
[00:25:15] >> Next, the Deputy Prime Minister of the
[00:25:17] Kingdom of Jordan and the President of
[00:25:19] the Republic of Kazakhstan.
[00:25:58] >> [applause]
[00:26:02] >> Next, the President of the Republic of
[00:26:04] Kosovo and the Prime Minister of the
[00:26:07] Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
[00:27:10] That's
[00:27:11] Yes. Thank you.
[00:27:17] [applause]
[00:27:18] Next, the President of the Republic of
[00:27:21] Paraguay and the Prime Minister of the
[00:27:23] State of Qatar.
[00:27:27] [applause]
[00:27:32] >> Hello. How are you?
[00:28:05] >> [applause]
[00:28:09] >> Next, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of
[00:28:11] the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the
[00:28:14] Minister of Foreign Affairs of the
[00:28:16] Republic of Turkey.
[00:28:19] [applause]
[00:28:51] Great.
[00:28:55] [applause]
[00:29:00] Next, the chairman of the executive
[00:29:02] authority affairs of the UAE and the
[00:29:05] president of the Republic of
[00:29:06] Usuzbekiststan.
[00:29:10] [applause]
[00:30:00] >> [applause]
[00:30:06] >> And last but not least, the Prime
[00:30:08] Minister of Mongolia.
[00:30:13] [applause]
[00:30:44] >> [applause]
[00:30:46] >> Congratulations everyone. This concludes
[00:30:48] the signing ceremony. If President Trump
[00:30:51] and all of the Board of Peace members uh
[00:30:53] could please join the president around
[00:30:55] the table. The president is now going to
[00:30:58] sign the inaugural resolution that will
[00:31:00] resolve the Board of Peace's Gaza
[00:31:02] mandate per the United Nations Security
[00:31:05] Council resolution 2803.
[00:31:33] Congratulations,
[00:31:42] Mr. Chair.
[00:31:44] >> If President Trump and all Board of
[00:31:46] Peace members could please take their
[00:31:47] seats in the front.
[00:32:00] Now, it is my honor to introduce the
[00:32:02] United States Secretary of State, Marco
[00:32:04] Rubio, who will speak about President
[00:32:06] Trump and his accomplishments. Without
[00:32:08] further ado, Secretary Rubio.
[00:32:12] [applause]
[00:32:16] >> Thank you very much. It's an honor to be
[00:32:18] here today. It's an honor to serve as
[00:32:19] the Secretary of State during a historic
[00:32:21] presidency. And it's a historic
[00:32:23] presidency because the President of the
[00:32:25] United States, Donald J. Trump is
[00:32:27] someone who is not limited by what
[00:32:28] others say is possible or what others
[00:32:30] say is impossible. He's not limited by
[00:32:34] some of the things that have happened in
[00:32:35] the past and he's willing to talk to or
[00:32:36] engage with anyone and the interest of
[00:32:38] peace. Always putting the American
[00:32:40] people and our national security first,
[00:32:42] but understanding that in the world that
[00:32:43] we share with so many others, peace is
[00:32:45] paramount to all of us. We are here
[00:32:47] today because of President Trump's
[00:32:49] vision. If we go back just a few months
[00:32:51] ago, people thought what was happening
[00:32:53] in Gaza was impossible to solve. 28
[00:32:56] hostages that were dead, others that
[00:32:58] were still living. All these hostages
[00:32:59] that were being held, no one thought
[00:33:01] that that would ever come to a
[00:33:02] resolution without more fighting and
[00:33:03] more bloodshed along the way. In fact,
[00:33:05] frankly, many thought it was
[00:33:06] intractable. And sadly, many of the
[00:33:09] institutions that have served us well in
[00:33:11] many cases for the last 70 years were
[00:33:13] unable to do anything about it. But
[00:33:16] President Trump had the vision and the
[00:33:17] courage to dream the impossible, to
[00:33:20] believe that it was doable and to pursue
[00:33:22] it with all of his heart. and he was in
[00:33:24] in that capacity assisted by an
[00:33:26] extraordinary team and I think both
[00:33:28] Jared uh and and Steve deserve a
[00:33:31] tremendous amount of credit. Jared
[00:33:32] Kushner and Steve Woodcock for all the
[00:33:34] work they put in [applause]
[00:33:36] and all of our partners here today. And
[00:33:38] now we have this board of peace who I
[00:33:40] believe's possibilities are endless
[00:33:42] obviously with a focus first and
[00:33:44] foremost on making sure that this peace
[00:33:46] deal in Gaza becomes enduring. And I
[00:33:49] know this president has it at his
[00:33:50] highest priority and will give it
[00:33:52] everything he has to make sure that this
[00:33:53] is successful. I also want to
[00:33:55] acknowledge the extraordinary leaders
[00:33:57] that are here today. This is not just a
[00:33:58] board of peace. This is a board of
[00:33:59] action just like President Trump is a
[00:34:02] president of action. A lot of times
[00:34:04] people like to give speeches. I've been
[00:34:06] to many of these forums and they're not
[00:34:07] useless and they're not, you know, not
[00:34:09] they have utility in many cases. But
[00:34:11] often times in international affairs, we
[00:34:13] often find ourselves at events where
[00:34:15] people are reading these scripted
[00:34:16] statements, these strongly worded
[00:34:17] letters that they put out, but no
[00:34:19] action. Nothing happens. This is a group
[00:34:22] of leaders that are about action. And
[00:34:24] the president of the United States is a
[00:34:25] president of action, of getting things
[00:34:27] done. And today is the beginning of
[00:34:29] that, of a new era and a new stage that
[00:34:31] we think is so important as a model to
[00:34:33] the rest of the world of what is
[00:34:34] possible. And clearly the focus is right
[00:34:37] now on Gaza and making sure that the
[00:34:38] plan that's about to be presented to you
[00:34:40] here today, this vision for the future
[00:34:42] of Gaza, this vision for the future of
[00:34:45] the region is not just possible and
[00:34:47] promising.
[00:34:49] It is our destiny if we put the time and
[00:34:51] the effort that it requires as I know
[00:34:52] this board will do. But I also think it
[00:34:55] will serve as an example of what's
[00:34:56] possible in other parts of the world
[00:34:59] without losing focus on what's before us
[00:35:01] now. This is what's possible for other
[00:35:03] places and other conflicts that seem
[00:35:05] impossible to solve right now. So I want
[00:35:08] to on behalf of the United States, on
[00:35:10] behalf of the team that works so hard on
[00:35:12] this, thank every single one of the
[00:35:13] leaders that are here today and all the
[00:35:15] countries that have committed to joining
[00:35:16] and many others who are going to join.
[00:35:18] You know others either are not in town
[00:35:20] today or they have to go through some
[00:35:21] procedure internally in their own
[00:35:23] conscious in their own uh country
[00:35:24] because of constitutional limitations
[00:35:26] but others will join. Many want to be a
[00:35:28] part of this effort because it is going
[00:35:30] to be a successful effort and you see it
[00:35:32] reflected here today among countries of
[00:35:34] different backgrounds from different
[00:35:35] parts of the world majority Christian
[00:35:38] some majority uh Muslim others
[00:35:41] who've come together in time in fact
[00:35:43] former adversaries who have joined here
[00:35:45] as part of this board of peace and all
[00:35:47] was possible and I want to acknowledge
[00:35:49] this again because of the vision and the
[00:35:51] drive of the president of the United
[00:35:53] States. So thank you all for joining us
[00:35:55] here today. We appreciate it very much.
[00:35:57] >> [applause]
[00:36:03] >> Thank you, Secretary Rubio. Please, if
[00:36:05] you could now turn your attention to the
[00:36:07] screens for a video message from the
[00:36:09] head of the National Committee for the
[00:36:11] Administration of Gaza, Dr. Ali Shy.
[00:36:16] >> Distinguished leaders, colleagues, and
[00:36:18] friends, it is an honor to be here
[00:36:21] today. I want to start by [music]
[00:36:24] thanking President Donald J. Trump and
[00:36:26] his administration for their intensive
[00:36:29] efforts to advance peace in [music] the
[00:36:31] whole region. I also thank Egyptian
[00:36:34] President Abdul Fatahisi, Qatar and
[00:36:37] Turkey as mediators, the Palestinian
[00:36:40] Authority and members of the United
[00:36:42] Nations Security Council for welcoming
[00:36:45] the comprehensive peace plan. These
[00:36:48] efforts created the opportunity for a
[00:36:51] new future in Gaza Strip. But what will
[00:36:54] really matter is what comes next. This
[00:36:57] transition will succeed only if it
[00:37:00] delivers real tangible improvements in
[00:37:04] daily life for Gazans. As chief
[00:37:07] commissioner of the National Committee
[00:37:10] for the Administration of Gaza, it's my
[00:37:12] responsibility
[00:37:14] to turn this moment into action to
[00:37:17] restore order to rebuild institutions
[00:37:20] and to create a future for the people of
[00:37:23] Gaza defined by opportunity and dignity
[00:37:27] under the principle of one authority,
[00:37:30] one law, and one weapon. As a first
[00:37:34] step, I am pleased to announce the Rafa
[00:37:37] crossing will open next week in both
[00:37:40] directions. For Palestinians in Gaza,
[00:37:43] Rafa is more than a gate. It is a
[00:37:46] lifeline and symbol of opportunity.
[00:37:49] Opening Rafa signals that Gaza is no
[00:37:53] longer closed to the future and to the
[00:37:56] war. I want to be clear, there is much
[00:37:59] more work ahead and none of it is easy.
[00:38:03] The road forward will involve difficult
[00:38:06] decisions and setbacks, but this is a
[00:38:10] real step and it marks a new direction.
[00:38:14] Now, I would like to address the people
[00:38:17] of Gaza.
[00:38:30] >> [music]
[00:38:39] >> Your legendary steadfastness is the
[00:38:42] foundation upon which we will build our
[00:38:44] future together. This moment is not for
[00:38:47] looking back but for moving forward
[00:38:51] toward a prosperous and bright future. A
[00:38:55] future where our children grow up
[00:38:58] without fear or anxiety. Where work is
[00:39:01] rewarded, schools are opened and daily
[00:39:04] life regains its stability and security.
[00:39:07] The coming stage requires the concerted
[00:39:10] efforts of everyone.
[00:39:13] But you will not face it alone.
[00:39:17] Your voices have weight. Your actions
[00:39:20] have impact. And your commitment to
[00:39:22] peace and the rebuilding of your
[00:39:25] communities will define the futures of
[00:39:28] the new Gaza Strip. Step by step with
[00:39:31] discipline and determination. We will
[00:39:33] build a capable Gaza capable of self
[00:39:37] reliance. and we will build it into a
[00:39:40] center for freedom, opportunity and
[00:39:43] peace.
[00:39:44] Community
[00:39:51] by our actions hold us to clear
[00:39:54] standards and stand with the people of
[00:39:57] Gaza as we take this responsibility for
[00:40:02] our future. Thank you, ladies and
[00:40:04] gentlemen.
[00:40:07] >> [applause]
[00:40:11] >> I now would like to welcome to the
[00:40:13] podium US special envoys Steve Witoff
[00:40:16] and Jared Kushner.
[00:40:19] [applause]
[00:40:34] Thank Thank you everyone and um and
[00:40:37] welcome here. This is uh really my honor
[00:40:39] to be up here speaking. I remember when
[00:40:42] the president
[00:40:44] asked Jared I and of course our great
[00:40:46] secretary of state to work on something
[00:40:49] that the world thought was impossible
[00:40:52] and unattainable.
[00:40:54] But the president on this peace deal for
[00:40:57] Gaza, as on all other deals we work on
[00:41:00] on his behalf, said we had a try. And of
[00:41:04] course, we were inspired by that.
[00:41:08] We have achieved a peace deal in Gaza.
[00:41:12] We have brought the hostages home, all
[00:41:15] of the bodies except for one, and we
[00:41:17] will bring that body home, too. And
[00:41:19] maybe most importantly, we have created
[00:41:22] a sense of hope for what the future can
[00:41:25] bring to Gaza and all other places where
[00:41:28] the border of peace will operate.
[00:41:31] And I am so honored, Mr. President, to
[00:41:34] have worked on this on your behalf.
[00:41:37] I'd like to um thank some people here
[00:41:42] who are here with us tonight who have
[00:41:44] done so much done indispensable work to
[00:41:47] bring this deal together. Shake
[00:41:50] Muhammad, my good friend from [snorts]
[00:41:52] Qar and Ali Alawadi,
[00:41:57] Hakan Fidan and Ibraham,
[00:42:02] General Hassan
[00:42:04] and Foreign Minister Bad Abdelotti and
[00:42:07] of course President Cece
[00:42:10] and Prime Minister Netanyahu,
[00:42:13] uh, former special envoy Ron Durmer and
[00:42:16] Michael Eisenberg for all that they
[00:42:19] I would also like to thank our core
[00:42:21] working group and members of the board
[00:42:23] of peace who have been working nonstop
[00:42:27] on on behalf of this incredible noble
[00:42:29] effort around the clock for months on
[00:42:32] end sacrificing time with their families
[00:42:35] and their own personal lives because
[00:42:37] they believe in the mission and the
[00:42:39] vision that the president has set out
[00:42:41] for us.
[00:42:43] I'd also like to thank those people
[00:42:46] include Tony Blair, Yakir Gabay, Josh
[00:42:50] Grunbound, Arie Lightstone, Lauron
[00:42:54] Tonkman, Admiral Cooper, General Frank,
[00:42:58] and I probably uh have forgotten some
[00:43:01] along the way. And then perhaps most
[00:43:04] importantly, I want to thank our
[00:43:05] administration. We have an incredible
[00:43:07] team. It's amazing to work for this
[00:43:09] administration. And I think you see the
[00:43:12] results that we get on behalf of the
[00:43:14] president because he inspires us so
[00:43:16] much. So I'd like to thank the vice
[00:43:18] president of the United States, JD
[00:43:20] Vance, for all of his help and guidance,
[00:43:23] our Treasury Secretary,
[00:43:25] of course, the Secretary of State, who
[00:43:27] we work handin glove with. And a special
[00:43:30] thanks to our chief of staff, Susie
[00:43:32] Wilds, who is always available to us for
[00:43:35] consultation, for steering, and um for
[00:43:39] all else that she does. Thank you.
[00:43:42] [applause]
[00:43:46] Thank you, Steve. And and I have to say,
[00:43:48] one of the great honors for me of being
[00:43:50] able to work on this has been working
[00:43:51] with Steve, who uh really is a as as
[00:43:54] brilliant as he is, his heart is is
[00:43:56] tremendous. He's a lot of fun to be with
[00:43:58] and uh even in some of these, you know,
[00:44:00] very difficult moments where we didn't
[00:44:01] think things were happen, uh working
[00:44:03] together really was an amazing treat. Uh
[00:44:05] I'm going to go now today just through a
[00:44:07] couple uh quick slides just to show you
[00:44:08] the progress that's been made in the
[00:44:09] last couple months. Uh it was just over
[00:44:11] 100 days ago that we got the final deal
[00:44:13] done and everyone was celebrating and
[00:44:15] and joyous about the hostages coming
[00:44:17] home and the end to this long war that
[00:44:19] nobody thought was possible. And Steve
[00:44:21] and I were panicking saying, "What do we
[00:44:23] do next?" You know, how do you implement
[00:44:24] peace? And as you guys know, peace is a
[00:44:26] different deal than a business deal
[00:44:27] because you're changing a mindset. And
[00:44:29] in Israel, there was two years of very
[00:44:31] intense war. For the people in Gaza,
[00:44:33] there was more than just two years of
[00:44:35] war. They had 20 years of hopelessness
[00:44:37] being ruled by a terrorist organization.
[00:44:39] For the people in the Middle East, their
[00:44:40] hearts were pulled by this. And
[00:44:42] throughout the entire world, it really
[00:44:43] was weighing on us. And so we we needed
[00:44:45] to think about what do we do next? How
[00:44:47] do we change the habits? How do we
[00:44:48] change the behaviors? And we really got
[00:44:50] to work right away. and and the team
[00:44:51] that Steve thanked uh including the
[00:44:53] White House team and and and the team
[00:44:55] the volunteers uh it's really been an
[00:44:57] incredible effort very entrepreneurial
[00:44:59] and we really did it in the way I've
[00:45:00] been working now with President Trump
[00:45:01] for uh 10 years on politics and what
[00:45:04] continues to amaze me is that he always
[00:45:06] takes a first principles approach and
[00:45:07] says what's the most optimal outcome aim
[00:45:10] for that whereas politicians are always
[00:45:12] focused on the downside or what could go
[00:45:13] wrong or how to make it a little bit
[00:45:15] better he always says aim for the best
[00:45:17] possible and you know do your best to
[00:45:19] get there and if everyone thinks it's
[00:45:20] impossible possible, that's even more
[00:45:22] reason why you should aim for it. And so
[00:45:23] really, thank you for the leadership and
[00:45:25] the inspiration for doing this. And I
[00:45:26] think you'll see today we've achieved
[00:45:28] more than thought was possible. And our
[00:45:30] ambition is still to go for something, I
[00:45:32] think, better than most people think is
[00:45:34] possible as well. So, let's see if these
[00:45:36] things work. They never usually work.
[00:45:38] Good. Uh, so quickly, I'll go through
[00:45:40] this two-year war, 90,000 tons of
[00:45:43] munitions. Uh, there's over 60 million
[00:45:45] tons of rubble there. Uh, and tens of
[00:45:47] thousands of fatalities. Um through the
[00:45:49] ceasefire we were able to get to uh
[00:45:50] through the 20point plan ceasefire
[00:45:52] release of hostages getting the UN
[00:45:54] resolution passed was a huge huge
[00:45:56] effort. Uh really thanks to Mike Waltz
[00:45:58] and the whole team there. They did an
[00:45:59] incredible job. Uh and we've then uh
[00:46:02] with the help of the um of the UN. We've
[00:46:04] worked very very well with them. This is
[00:46:05] why you need a new organization like the
[00:46:07] Board of Peace to work with the UN. I
[00:46:09] want to thank Tom Fletcher. Uh did an
[00:46:11] incredible job of really getting it
[00:46:12] going. We've done historic humanitarian
[00:46:14] aid going forward. Number one thing is
[00:46:16] going to be security. Obviously, we've
[00:46:17] been working very closely with uh with
[00:46:19] the Israelis to figure out a way through
[00:46:21] deescalation. Uh and the next phase is
[00:46:23] working with Hamas on demilitarization,
[00:46:25] which I'll talk about in a second. But
[00:46:26] without security, nobody's going to make
[00:46:28] investments. Nobody's going to come, you
[00:46:30] know, build there. We need investments
[00:46:31] uh in order to start giving jobs. We
[00:46:33] want to take these people. 85% of the
[00:46:35] aid of Gaza, 85% of the GDP of Gaza has
[00:46:38] been aid for a long time. That's not
[00:46:40] sustainable. It's it doesn't give these
[00:46:41] people dignity. It doesn't give them
[00:46:43] hope. And so, we want to use free market
[00:46:45] economy principles. a lot of what
[00:46:46] President Trump spoke about that he's
[00:46:48] doing in America. We want to bring the
[00:46:49] same mindset, the same approach to a
[00:46:52] place like Gaza to give these people the
[00:46:54] ability to thrive and have a good life.
[00:46:57] Let's see. So, uh on the aid I mentioned
[00:47:00] the UN uh so now people are talking
[00:47:02] about famine. 100% of the of the of the
[00:47:05] food needs are are met and that's been
[00:47:07] overabundance. The the cost of goods
[00:47:09] have gone down tremendously. Over 55,000
[00:47:11] trucks uh have gone in and over 1.4 four
[00:47:14] million pallets and it's been the
[00:47:15] largest humanitarian effort done into a
[00:47:18] war zone uh that anyone's been able to
[00:47:20] tell us about. This really has been a
[00:47:21] great joint effort that everyone's been
[00:47:22] able to do and um and so it's a a great
[00:47:25] thing. Uh we all just heard from Ali. We
[00:47:27] have been so impressed. Steve and I were
[00:47:29] we're were we're speaking to him and the
[00:47:30] entire committee. Such bravery of these
[00:47:32] people to uh to step up and uh and we've
[00:47:35] worked with the Palestinian Authority
[00:47:36] who's been helping us as well. Uh but
[00:47:38] this committee is is the first time a
[00:47:39] technocratic a-political committee. I
[00:47:41] really want to thank the Arab partners
[00:47:43] for helping us select the right people
[00:47:44] to do this and we just need to believe
[00:47:46] in them and support them. I put this up
[00:47:48] here. It's probably a little too small
[00:47:49] for me to read, but this is really
[00:47:50] important. If you saw the mission
[00:47:52] statement, so Hamas's mission statement
[00:47:54] was we need to destroy the state of
[00:47:55] Israel. That has not worked well for the
[00:47:57] people as we've seen. Their mission
[00:47:58] statement is we are committed to
[00:48:00] establishing security, restoring the
[00:48:02] essential services that form the bedrock
[00:48:04] of human dignity such such electricity,
[00:48:08] water, healthcare and education as well
[00:48:10] as cultivating a society rooted in
[00:48:12] peace, democracy and justice operating
[00:48:14] with the highest standards of integrity,
[00:48:16] transparency. So these are the basic
[00:48:18] things. Their goal is to have peace and
[00:48:19] to help their people which is an obvious
[00:48:21] mission statesman for a government but
[00:48:23] actually fairly novel uh for Gaza. So we
[00:48:26] did a master plan. Uh we brought in I
[00:48:28] thank you Kir Gabby who's one of the
[00:48:30] most successful real estate developers
[00:48:31] and brilliant people. I know he's
[00:48:33] volunteered to do this not for profofit
[00:48:35] really because of his heart. He wants to
[00:48:36] do this and we've developed ways to
[00:48:38] redevelop Gaza. Gaza as President
[00:48:39] Trump's been saying has amazing
[00:48:41] potential and this is for the people of
[00:48:42] Gaza. We've developed it into zones. In
[00:48:45] the beginning we were toying with the
[00:48:46] idea of saying let's build a a free zone
[00:48:48] and then we have a Hamas zone and then
[00:48:50] we said you know what let's just plan
[00:48:51] for catastrophic success. We Hamas
[00:48:53] signed a deal to demilitarize. That is
[00:48:55] what we are going to enforce. People ask
[00:48:56] us what our plan B is. We do not have a
[00:48:58] plan B. Uh we have a plan. We signed an
[00:49:00] agreement. We are all committed to
[00:49:02] making that agreement work. There's a
[00:49:03] master plan. We'll be doing it in
[00:49:05] phasing. In the Middle East, they build
[00:49:06] cities like this in uh you know two
[00:49:08] three million people. They build this in
[00:49:10] three years. And so stuff like this is
[00:49:11] very doable if we make it happen.
[00:49:14] Uh Rothl will start with this will show
[00:49:16] a lot of workforce housing. We think
[00:49:18] this could be done in two three years.
[00:49:19] We've already started removing the
[00:49:20] rubble uh and doing some of the
[00:49:22] demolition. and then New Gaza. It could
[00:49:24] be a hope. It could be a destination,
[00:49:25] have a lot of industry, and really be a
[00:49:27] place that that the people there can
[00:49:29] thrive, have great employment. Uh once
[00:49:31] this starts going, we think there should
[00:49:32] be 100% full employment and opportunity
[00:49:34] for everybody there. And uh we have a
[00:49:36] lot of data on what can be, but we think
[00:49:38] that this really gives the Gazin people
[00:49:40] an opportunity to to live their
[00:49:41] aspirations, but it all starts with
[00:49:43] security and it all starts with
[00:49:44] governance. Final note I'll just say on
[00:49:46] the board of peace which is that um all
[00:49:49] the lessons we're doing is we're
[00:49:50] basically studying the best practices
[00:49:52] from all over the world and we're
[00:49:53] watching who does education the best,
[00:49:54] who does healthcare delivery the best.
[00:49:56] All these things are are it's not uh
[00:49:58] secret IP. All this is IP that the board
[00:50:00] of peace is going to make public and we
[00:50:02] want to encourage all the countries to
[00:50:03] be able to follow these best practices.
[00:50:05] A lot of the things that President Trump
[00:50:07] is doing in America, if they're working,
[00:50:09] we should all be copying them. If we
[00:50:10] find what's working in other countries,
[00:50:12] we should be copying them, too. And so
[00:50:14] what the board of peace will have the
[00:50:15] ability to do if we're successful with
[00:50:16] with Gaza is really show how do you do
[00:50:18] peace implementation which is something
[00:50:20] that when we got this deal done we
[00:50:22] didn't really find too much expertise or
[00:50:24] knowhow on how to do it. So as we're
[00:50:26] creating this system hopefully it's
[00:50:28] something that we can just document
[00:50:29] these learnings and make them available
[00:50:31] to all else who want to use them in the
[00:50:32] future. So uh demilitarization this is
[00:50:35] something uh we're starting now that we
[00:50:36] have a new government uh in Gaza. this
[00:50:38] government will be working with Hamas on
[00:50:39] the demilitarization to really take um
[00:50:42] uh the principles that were agreed to in
[00:50:44] the document to the next phase um and
[00:50:45] and hopefully that will be successful.
[00:50:47] Without that, we can't rebuild. So, uh
[00:50:49] if Hamas does not demilitarize, that
[00:50:51] will be what holds back Gaza and the
[00:50:53] people of Gaza from achieving their
[00:50:55] aspiration. And that's very important.
[00:50:56] So, the next 100 days, we're going to
[00:50:58] continue to just be heads down and
[00:50:59] focused on making sure this is
[00:51:00] implemented. we continue to be focused
[00:51:02] on humanitarian aid, humanitarian
[00:51:04] shelter, but then creating the
[00:51:06] conditions to uh to move forward. Um so,
[00:51:09] thank you. Uh final point I'll just make
[00:51:11] is um this is really only possible
[00:51:13] because of the work of so many people
[00:51:14] and President Trump's great leadership.
[00:51:16] Uh but a lot of you have been asking how
[00:51:18] can how can we help? So, the countries
[00:51:19] have all been incredibly generous. We'll
[00:51:21] be doing uh the first conference uh
[00:51:23] where we'll announce a lot of the
[00:51:24] contributions that'll be made uh in a
[00:51:26] couple weeks in Washington uh from the
[00:51:27] private sector. There'll be amazing
[00:51:29] investment opportunities. I know it's a
[00:51:31] little risky to be investing in a place
[00:51:32] like this, but we need you to come take
[00:51:34] faith, invest in the people, try to be a
[00:51:36] part of it. And then finally, I'll just
[00:51:38] talk to people on the media and on the
[00:51:40] social media, which is um this deal only
[00:51:43] happened because we worked with Israel,
[00:51:45] we worked with Turkey, we worked with
[00:51:46] Qatar, we worked with Saudi, we worked
[00:51:48] with Egypt. I mean, everyone worked
[00:51:50] together. We worked with UAE, we all
[00:51:52] worked together to make this happen. Uh
[00:51:54] I see a lot of people trying to
[00:51:55] escalate, you know, criticizing Israel
[00:51:56] or or Israelis criticizing Turkey or
[00:51:58] Qatar. just calm down for 30 days. I
[00:52:00] think that the war is over. Let's do our
[00:52:02] best to try working together. Our goal
[00:52:04] here is peace between Israel and the
[00:52:06] Palestinian people. Everyone wants to
[00:52:08] live peacefully. Everyone wants to live
[00:52:09] with dignity. Let's put our efforts
[00:52:11] towards promoting those who are doing
[00:52:12] the work to build this up like Ali and
[00:52:14] his committee. Let's focus on the
[00:52:16] positive stories and let's just calm
[00:52:18] down, turn a new chapter, and if we
[00:52:20] believe that peace is possible, then
[00:52:21] peace really can be possible. So, we're
[00:52:24] going to continue to work every day. We
[00:52:25] need all of your help to do it. And
[00:52:26] again, I just really want to thank
[00:52:27] President Trump for his leadership in
[00:52:29] doing this. This would not have been
[00:52:30] possible without your commitment to
[00:52:32] this. Uh, everyone thought it was
[00:52:33] impossible to end this war. You never
[00:52:35] gave up. You never stopped. Every time
[00:52:37] there was a setback, you told us to try
[00:52:38] harder. You gave us different ideas.
[00:52:40] And, uh, we've made several impossible
[00:52:43] things happen just in Gaza at a date.
[00:52:44] And there's no reason why we shouldn't
[00:52:46] be able to make even more impossible
[00:52:48] things happen. So, really, thank you for
[00:52:49] your amazing leadership.
[00:52:52] [applause]
[00:52:59] Thank you, Jared and Steve. Now, I would
[00:53:01] like to introduce and welcome to the
[00:53:03] podium the high representative for Gaza,
[00:53:06] Nicolay Maladinoff.
[00:53:09] [applause]
[00:53:20] Mr. President,
[00:53:22] it's a great honor and a massive
[00:53:25] responsibility for me, for my team, for
[00:53:27] all of us to be here with you to begin
[00:53:30] this journey. Who would have thought two
[00:53:33] years ago that we will be sitting here
[00:53:35] with this group of countries with this
[00:53:37] leadership giving the people of Gaza a
[00:53:40] new chance? Who would have thought that
[00:53:43] last Friday I would be sitting, Mr.
[00:53:45] president in Cairo with an amazing group
[00:53:47] of Palestinian technocrats. People who
[00:53:50] you don't see on the news, people who
[00:53:52] are not media personalities, but who are
[00:53:54] experts who are committed to giving
[00:53:56] their people a chance in life. And this
[00:53:59] is what this is all about. For too long,
[00:54:02] Gazans, Palestinians, and Israelis have
[00:54:05] lived with conflict, with death, with
[00:54:08] destruction. Now the page turns and
[00:54:11] whether the page turns successfully
[00:54:13] really depends on all of us. We have the
[00:54:16] ingredients for it. We have the
[00:54:18] leadership of the United States and
[00:54:19] President Trump. We have a great group
[00:54:21] of countries joining the Board of Peace
[00:54:23] and more to come. We have a fantastic
[00:54:26] Palestinian team on the ground and we
[00:54:28] must make it work. Our partnerships are
[00:54:30] there. Our plans are in place and we
[00:54:32] need your support. And finally, I look
[00:54:35] to all of you who are in this room and
[00:54:36] who are watching this uh meeting from
[00:54:40] from their screens at home or in their
[00:54:42] offices. Please put away your talking
[00:54:45] points for a minute. Please put away
[00:54:48] your fears. Please put away your
[00:54:50] concerns. Please stop listening to the
[00:54:53] rumors and to the gossip. Focus on what
[00:54:57] we have to do today because the future
[00:54:59] of 2 million Palestinians is at stake.
[00:55:02] And if we give them a chance, we will do
[00:55:04] more than that. We will create
[00:55:06] opportunities for 1 billion people who
[00:55:08] live in the Middle East and beyond and
[00:55:10] who are responsible also who want to see
[00:55:12] transformation and a chance in life for
[00:55:15] the future. So please join us on this
[00:55:17] journey. Join the board of peace and
[00:55:18] join us in supporting this excellent
[00:55:21] initiative. And thank you again,
[00:55:22] President Trump and the United States
[00:55:23] for taking this decisive leadership
[00:55:25] forward.
[00:55:27] [applause]
[00:55:31] Thank you, President Trump. Would you
[00:55:33] like to make some concluding remarks?
[00:55:44] Great job. Great job.
[00:55:48] Well, I just want to tell you it's all
[00:55:51] happening. And one of the first things I
[00:55:54] said when we really got involved in this
[00:55:56] project, and it's a big one, but it's
[00:55:59] very doable. I said to Jared and Steve
[00:56:01] and some of the other folks, including
[00:56:05] Larry Frink, and congratulations on the
[00:56:07] great success. The two of you have done
[00:56:09] a fantastic job. This is bigger and
[00:56:11] better than ever. We usurped some of
[00:56:14] your time for a very important reason,
[00:56:17] and you understand that better than
[00:56:19] anybody, and we appreciate that you're
[00:56:20] here very much. Thank you both very
[00:56:23] much. [applause]
[00:56:26] But I said that uh you know this is a
[00:56:28] great location. It all begins see I'm a
[00:56:30] real estate person at heart and it's all
[00:56:33] about location. And I said look at this
[00:56:36] location on the sea. Look at this
[00:56:38] beautiful piece of property. What it
[00:56:40] could be for so many people. It'll be so
[00:56:42] so great. People that are living so
[00:56:44] poorly are going to be living so well.
[00:56:46] But it all began with the location.
[00:56:48] That's the vision. they look out on the
[00:56:51] waters and very few people are very few
[00:56:53] places are like it. So we put together a
[00:56:56] team that's outstanding, a team that's
[00:56:58] done it before, a team that I think has
[00:57:00] done tougher jobs. If you want to know
[00:57:02] the truth, we've done some tough jobs
[00:57:04] and uh we continue to. As far as the
[00:57:07] United States is concerned, we're behind
[00:57:09] it and uh the United States has never
[00:57:12] been stronger, never been bigger,
[00:57:14] better. It's doing really well. You see
[00:57:16] that building thousands of businesses,
[00:57:20] plants, factories all over the United
[00:57:22] States are right now under construction.
[00:57:24] Nobody's ever seen anything like it. And
[00:57:28] this is just an honor to be involved
[00:57:29] with this and to be involved with the
[00:57:31] great people in this room and the great
[00:57:33] leaders that are sitting on stage. We
[00:57:35] thank you very much. And we have many
[00:57:37] others that have signed up and they all
[00:57:39] want to be members of the board of peace
[00:57:41] because it really will be important.
[00:57:44] This is not going to be a waste of time.
[00:57:46] We waste so much time on things that
[00:57:48] never happen. This will happen and it's
[00:57:51] already happening. Thank you very much
[00:57:52] everybody. It's a great honor to be with
[00:57:54] you. Thank you. Thank you. [applause]
[00:58:05] [applause]
