[00:02:59] is bigger than you. It's bigger than me.
[00:03:02] You are here to make somebody else's
[00:03:04] life better and pursue liberty and
[00:03:06] freedom. You know what gives me
[00:03:08] strength?
[00:03:09] [Music]
[00:03:10] Hundreds of thousands of you that say
[00:03:13] Charlie 1 Corinthians 5 and 15. So
[00:03:17] that's all pretty amazing. It's not
[00:03:19] intra biblical evidence but extra
[00:03:21] biblical evidence that Jesus Christ was
[00:03:23] a real person. He lived a perfect life.
[00:03:26] He was crucified, died and rose on the
[00:03:28] third day and he is Lord and
[00:03:55] Charlie Kirk with Majio News. I'm a
[00:03:57] recent high school graduate from the
[00:03:58] Chicago land area.
[00:03:59] >> 18-year-old Charlie Kirk is saying
[00:04:01] enough is enough. I mean, our public
[00:04:03] school education system and everybody
[00:04:05] around us is trying to make it seem like
[00:04:07] this debt is not a big problem.
[00:04:08] >> My suggestion is just get aware of all
[00:04:10] sides. Be able to argue the argument for
[00:04:11] capitalism as well as you can for
[00:04:13] socialism.
[00:04:13] >> Charlie Kirk is a young man from Turning
[00:04:16] Point. He's the founder of the
[00:04:18] organization.
[00:04:20] >> Very special hour episode for you today.
[00:04:23] My wife joins us, Erica Kirk. The
[00:04:25] beautiful, legendary Erica.
[00:04:27] >> I love you so much.
[00:04:28] >> I love you.
[00:04:35] >> Jesus saved my life. I'm a sinner. Gave
[00:04:37] my life to Christ. Most important
[00:04:38] decision I ever made. And the
[00:04:39] resurrection is the is the pinpoint of
[00:04:42] my belief that Jesus did rise from the
[00:04:44] grave so that we may live. We should be
[00:04:46] so grateful. We should we had our hands
[00:04:47] and hands and knees kissing the ground
[00:04:48] and thanking God we have to live in this
[00:04:50] great nation which is the inheritance
[00:04:52] not of luck not of chance not of
[00:04:55] Buddhism but the inheritance of
[00:04:57] courageous Christians who put everything
[00:05:00] on the line so that we can live free
[00:05:02] what I do is I fight and I know what God
[00:05:04] calls to us so the specific teachings of
[00:05:07] Christ is go make disciples of all
[00:05:08] nations I'm trying my best to do that
[00:05:12] >> every human being is made in the image
[00:05:15] of God and deserves 's protection.
[00:05:20] >> God is not done with America. Everybody,
[00:05:22] God is at work in this country. God is
[00:05:24] not done with this country.
[00:05:28] >> If everything
[00:05:30] completely goes away, how do you want to
[00:05:33] hear?
[00:05:34] >> I want to be remembered for for courage
[00:05:37] for my faith. That that would be the
[00:05:39] most important most important thing to
[00:05:40] my faith.
[00:06:22] here. I would ask that all members
[00:06:23] present in the chamber and those in the
[00:06:25] gallery please rise for a moment of
[00:06:27] prayer for Charlie Kirk.
[00:06:34] It is with profound sorrow we mourn the
[00:06:36] tragic passing of Charlie Kerr following
[00:06:38] today's horrific assassination attack at
[00:06:41] Utah Valley University.
[00:06:46] It was a cowardly and vile act of
[00:06:48] violence carried out to silence one of
[00:06:50] America's boldest Christian conservative
[00:06:53] voices. Never underestimate the will of
[00:06:56] the American people and the sovereignty
[00:06:58] of God towards righteous and good
[00:07:00] purposes.
[00:07:04] >> Charlie was more than a broadcaster. He
[00:07:07] was a fearless defender of truth and a
[00:07:10] faithful servant of God. His
[00:07:13] assassination was not just an attack on
[00:07:15] Charlie. It was an attack on free speech
[00:07:17] and on the values Charlie championed
[00:07:20] every day.
[00:07:21] >> Together, we will ensure that his voice,
[00:07:24] his message, and his legacy will live on
[00:07:27] for countless generations to come.
[00:07:30] >> In a world where voices are silenced and
[00:07:32] truth is often drowned out by the noise
[00:07:34] of the moment, there are those who rise
[00:07:36] above the fray. those whose courage,
[00:07:39] conviction and clarity light the way for
[00:07:42] others. Today we remember one such
[00:07:45] voice.
[00:07:46] >> This is not just the story of a man. It
[00:07:49] is the story of a movement. A movement
[00:07:51] built on faith, resilience, and the
[00:07:53] unyielding pursuit of liberty. It's a
[00:07:57] movement led by a man who dared to stand
[00:07:59] tall, who spoke truth when others
[00:08:02] hesitated,
[00:08:04] who fought for the values that define us
[00:08:05] as a nation.
[00:08:07] That's the legacy of Charlie Kirk.
[00:08:11] >> As we look back on his journey, we
[00:08:13] celebrate the moments that shaped him,
[00:08:15] the battles he fought, and the
[00:08:17] indomitable spirit that will continue to
[00:08:19] inspire generations to come.
[00:08:22] This is where Charlie Kirk's story will
[00:08:25] live on.
[00:08:29] We remember Charlie Kirk.

[00:09:02] We're we're active in about 15 campuses
[00:09:04] and we're growing very very quickly. And
[00:09:05] keep in mind, this is not just a flash
[00:09:07] in the pan movement. Uh we're going to
[00:09:08] become an institution to give them the
[00:09:10] power and the confidence to stand up and
[00:09:12] let their voice be heard. I started this
[00:09:14] organization when I was 18 years old. I
[00:09:16] decided uh not to go to college. I
[00:09:17] didn't get in my dream school, which was
[00:09:19] the United States Military Academy at
[00:09:20] West Point. I have this idea to
[00:09:22] galvanize and motivate the future youth
[00:09:23] of this country around a core set of
[00:09:26] ideas, not just political parties or
[00:09:27] politicians. And the ideas are really
[00:09:29] America's the greatest country in the
[00:09:30] history of the world. Constitution is
[00:09:32] the greatest political document ever
[00:09:33] written and free enterprise the most
[00:09:34] assured way to lift people out of
[00:09:35] poverty and create prosperity for all.
[00:09:37] Those are the three big ideas. Um and I
[00:09:39] think that's something that can win.
[00:09:41] [Music]
[00:09:48] >> We as Christians are called to go into
[00:09:50] the public arena to correct error with
[00:09:54] truth. So I go to college campuses and
[00:09:56] there's a lot of error. We're all
[00:09:57] sinners. We all live in error. I'm far
[00:09:59] more interested in what God wants of me
[00:10:02] than what I want of from God.
[00:10:03] >> I have to say this without getting
[00:10:05] emotional, but I'm very proud of my
[00:10:06] husband. And I know many of you are too.
[00:10:12] You have worked so hard and I know a lot
[00:10:14] of you have seen obviously his videos on
[00:10:17] TikTok and all the stuff he does on
[00:10:19] campus, but no one gets to see him from
[00:10:23] my angle except for myself and our
[00:10:25] children.
[00:10:35] and the sacrifices that he made this
[00:10:38] year.
[00:10:40] He's amazing. I'm very blessed.
[00:10:42] >> And I I would not have been able to do
[00:10:43] any of it without Erica. And that's the
[00:10:45] real truth. I'll tell you what,
[00:10:48] you are here as a grassroots response to
[00:10:52] the top down revolution happening in
[00:10:54] this country. I want our Turning Point
[00:10:56] USA students to receive a round of
[00:10:58] applause. These are the freedom fighters
[00:11:00] of America.
[00:11:02] [Applause]
[00:11:04] >> The media said that Turning Point run a
[00:11:07] ground game. They weren't experienced.
[00:11:08] They didn't know Charlie, right?
[00:11:10] >> This is the greatest generational
[00:11:13] realignment since Woodstock. This
[00:11:15] generation is the most conservative
[00:11:17] generation that we have seen in well
[00:11:19] over 50 years. And the numbers show it.
[00:11:22] What young people especially are
[00:11:24] screaming at is they say, "Give me a
[00:11:27] structure that I can live my life by."
[00:11:31] And especially with young men, more
[00:11:33] challenging of them, more saying, "You
[00:11:35] know what? Honestly, I'm not going to
[00:11:36] talk down to you. Stop being a boy and
[00:11:38] become a man. You want to learn what
[00:11:40] that means? Come to church and I'll tell
[00:11:41] you what it means to become a man
[00:11:43] because we have the greatest story ever
[00:11:44] told. What can I do to save the
[00:11:47] country?" You answer that question every
[00:11:49] single day because you are doing the
[00:11:51] work to save this beautiful republic.
[00:11:54] You are doing something that is bigger
[00:11:56] than you. If everything
[00:12:00] completely goes away, be remembered. I
[00:12:03] want to be I want to be remembered for
[00:12:06] for my faith. That that would be the

[00:12:47] I can only
[00:12:49] [Music]
[00:12:56] say you know what I don't like the way
[00:12:57] the country is going and to do something
[00:13:00] about it. Take that risk. Take that leap
[00:13:03] of faith. Stay involved. Trust God and
[00:13:07] act obediently.
[00:13:09] Romans 12:2 verse that God will use all
[00:13:12] things all things
[00:13:14] for good for those who love him. It's
[00:13:16] bigger than you. I want you to remember
[00:13:19] it is bigger than you. It's bigger than
[00:13:22] me. You are here to make somebody else's
[00:13:24] life better in the pursuit of liberty
[00:13:26] and freedom. You know what gives me

[00:30:10] are really America's the greatest

[00:42:44] we have the greatest story ever told.
[00:42:47] What can I do to save the country?" You
[00:42:49] answer that question every single day
[00:42:51] because you are doing the work to save
[00:42:54] this beautiful republic. You are doing
[00:42:56] something that is bigger than you.
[00:43:00] >> If everything
[00:43:02] completely goes away, how do you want to
[00:43:04] be remembered?
[00:43:05] >> I want to be I want to be remembered for
[00:43:06] for courage for my faith. That that
[00:43:09] would be the most important thing. Most
[00:43:10] important thing is my faith.
[00:43:15] Very
[00:43:18] [Music]
[00:43:27] proud.
[00:43:47] [Music]
[00:43:49] I can only imagine
[00:43:52] what it will be like
[00:43:55] America. Is it possible to say you know
[00:43:58] what I don't like the way the country is
[00:43:59] going and to do something about it? Take
[00:44:03] that risk. Take that leap of faith. Stay
[00:44:06] involved, trust God, and act obediently.
[00:44:10] Romans 12:2 verse that God will use all
[00:44:14] things, all things
[00:44:16] for good for those who love him. It's
[00:44:18] bigger than you. I want you to remember
[00:44:20] that it is bigger than you. It's bigger
[00:44:23] than me. You are here to make somebody
[00:44:25] else's life better in the pursuit of
[00:44:28] liberty and freedom. You know what gives
[00:44:29] me strength?
[00:44:32] the hundreds of thousands of you that
[00:44:35] say, "Charlie, keep going."
[00:44:37] >> 1 Corinthians 5 and 15. So, that's all
[00:44:40] pretty amazing evidence, not just
[00:44:41] intrabiblical evidence, but extra
[00:44:43] biblical evidence that Jesus Christ was
[00:44:45] a real person. He lived a perfect life.
[00:44:48] He was crucified, died, and rose on the
[00:44:50] third day. And he is Lord and God of
[00:44:52] all.
[00:45:17] Charlie Kirk with Majio News. I'm a
[00:45:19] recent high school graduate from the
[00:45:20] Chicago land area.
[00:45:21] >> 18-year-old Charlie Kirk is saying
[00:45:23] enough is enough. I mean, our public
[00:45:25] school education system and everybody
[00:45:27] around us is trying to make it seem like
[00:45:29] this debt is not a big problem.
[00:45:30] >> My suggestion is just get aware of all
[00:45:32] sides. Be able to argue the argument for
[00:45:33] capitalism as well as you can for
[00:45:35] socialism.
[00:45:35] >> Charlie Kirk is a young man from Turning
[00:45:38] Point. He's the founder of the
[00:45:40] organization.
[00:45:42] >> Very special hour episode for you today.
[00:45:45] My wife joins us, Erica Kirk. The
[00:45:47] beautiful, legendary Erica.
[00:45:49] >> I love you so much.
[00:45:50] >> I love you.
[00:45:52] [Applause]
[00:45:57] Jesus saved my life. I'm a sinner. Gave
[00:45:59] my life to Christ. Most important
[00:46:00] decision I ever made. The resurrection
[00:46:02] is the is the pinpoint of my belief that
[00:46:05] Jesus did rise from the grave so that we
[00:46:07] may
[00:46:37] [Music]
[00:46:44] We're just going to worship a little bit
[00:46:45] tonight as people are still coming in.
[00:46:47] Would you stand up with me,
[00:46:50] Lord? We just welcome your presence
[00:46:52] here.
[00:46:55] We just welcome your presence, God.
[00:47:00] [Music]
[00:47:08] >> Worthy is your name,
[00:47:12] Jesus.
[00:47:16] You deserve the praise.
[00:47:20] Worthy is your name.
[00:47:24] Worthy is your name,
[00:47:28] Jesus.
[00:47:31] You deserve the praise.
[00:47:35] Worthy is your name.
[00:47:39] Worthy is your name.
[00:47:42] [Music]
[00:47:43] Jesus,
[00:47:45] [Music]
[00:47:47] you deserve praise,
[00:47:51] worthy is your name.
[00:47:54] Worthy is your name.
[00:47:58] Jesus,
[00:48:02] you deserve praise.
[00:48:06] Worthy is your name.
[00:48:11] Your name is the highest. Your name is
[00:48:17] the greatest. Your name
[00:48:21] stands above all.
[00:48:26] All thrones
[00:48:28] and dominions
[00:48:30] on high.
[00:48:33] [Music]
[00:48:34] Your name
[00:48:36] stands above all your name.
[00:48:42] Your name is the highest. Your name is
[00:48:48] the greatest. Your name
[00:48:52] stands above all.
[00:48:57] our throne.
[00:49:01] All power
[00:49:04] your name
[00:49:07] stands above all and the angels cry.
[00:49:14] Holy
[00:49:18] all creation
[00:49:20] cry.
[00:49:25] You are lifted high,
[00:49:30] high,
[00:49:34] high.
[00:49:35] [Music]
[00:49:36] Yeah. Come on, lift your voice. It's
[00:49:37] beautiful. Come on, let's fill this
[00:49:39] place tonight. Let all the people sing.

[00:50:13] your name is the highest. Your name is
[00:50:19] the greatest. Your name
[00:50:23] stands above the wall.
[00:50:28] It all thrashes
[00:50:32] all.
[00:50:35] Your name
[00:50:38] stands above them all.
[00:50:41] And the angels cry.
[00:50:45] Oh,
[00:50:49] all creation
[00:50:51] cry.

[01:02:12] I have decided
[01:02:16] to follow Jesus.
[01:02:20] No turning back.
[01:02:25] No turning back. Though none go with me,
[01:02:29] though none go with me,
[01:02:33] still I will follow.
[01:02:36] [Music]
[01:02:37] Though none go with me,
[01:02:41] still I will follow.
[01:02:45] Though none go with me,
[01:02:49] still I will fall.
[01:02:53] No turning back.
[01:02:58] No turning back. The cross before me and
[01:03:02] the cross before me.
[01:03:06] The world,
[01:03:10] the cross before me,
[01:03:14] the world behind me,
[01:03:18] the cross before me,
[01:03:22] the world behind me,
[01:03:26] no turn.
[01:03:31] Come on. I have decided. Come on, sing
[01:03:33] it with me. I have decided
[01:03:38] to follow Jesus.
[01:03:42] I have decided
[01:03:46] to follow Jesus.
[01:03:50] I have decided
[01:03:54] to follow Jesus.
[01:03:58] No turning back.
[01:04:02] No turning. Come on, just your voices.
[01:04:05] Let's sing this out. I have decided
[01:04:10] to follow Jesus.
[01:04:15] I have decided
[01:04:19] to follow Jesus.
[01:04:23] I have decided
[01:04:27] to follow Jesus.
[01:04:32] No turning back.
[01:04:36] No turning back.
[01:04:40] And no turning back.
[01:04:44] No turning back.
[01:04:49] No turning back.
[01:04:53] No turning back.

[01:04:58] [Applause]
[01:05:01] [Music]
[01:05:02] [Applause]
[01:05:07] [Music]
[01:05:08] Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome
[01:05:11] Micah Ray who will open tonight's
[01:05:13] service in prayer.
[01:05:23] Well, thank you all for your patience
[01:05:25] with us and getting this going. We are
[01:05:27] absolutely honored that you would be
[01:05:29] here tonight and the large crowd speaks
[01:05:33] volumes for our brother and our friend
[01:05:37] Charlie Kirk.
[01:05:39] Would you all pray with me now as we
[01:05:41] begin this memorial vigil?
[01:05:45] Our loving heavenly father, we come
[01:05:47] before you tonight with heavy hearts,
[01:05:51] mourning the loss of our dear friend and
[01:05:53] brother Charlie Kirk.
[01:05:56] But we also rejoice in knowing that he
[01:05:58] is with you and has heard those sweet
[01:06:01] words, well done, good and faithful
[01:06:04] servant. Lord,
[01:06:07] we thank you for his life, his bold
[01:06:09] faith, the witness he bore for you and
[01:06:11] all that he did. We're grateful for the
[01:06:14] ways that he pointed others to Christ
[01:06:15] and lived with courage and conviction to
[01:06:18] fight for truth. Father, will you lift
[01:06:21] up his wife Erica, his children, his
[01:06:24] family and friends? Would you surround
[01:06:26] them with your comfort and peace? Would
[01:06:29] you hold them close in this time of
[01:06:30] grief and give them strength that only
[01:06:33] you can provide? Your word reminds us in
[01:06:36] Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the
[01:06:39] brokenhearted and saves those who are
[01:06:41] crushed in spirit. Be that refuge and
[01:06:44] strength for them now, Lord." And Lord,
[01:06:46] we thank you for all those who have come
[01:06:48] out tonight to honor him.
[01:06:50] Many who have traveled far, especially
[01:06:53] our special guests who took from their
[01:06:54] busy schedules to honor Charlie. Lord,
[01:06:57] may everyone here tonight be lifted up
[01:06:59] and encouraged by this gathering. We
[01:07:02] pray that this memorial will run
[01:07:04] smoothly, become a real source of
[01:07:06] comfort to those here in person and
[01:07:09] watching online.
[01:07:11] And most of all, may I honor Charlie's
[01:07:13] memory bring hope to his family and
[01:07:16] friends. And may his life and testimony
[01:07:18] stir us to live with the same kind of
[01:07:21] bold faith, courage to speak truth and
[01:07:24] commitment to what's right, just like he
[01:07:26] did. Lord, we know that he would want
[01:07:28] one message to come from this event and
[01:07:30] that would be that those who do not know
[01:07:32] you as a personal savior would draw to
[01:07:35] him and call on him now.
[01:07:37] He wants to bring those to him. Lord, we
[01:07:40] know that the wages of sin are death,
[01:07:42] but the gift of God is eternal life
[01:07:44] through Jesus Christ our Lord. That was
[01:07:46] Charlie's hope that he carried every
[01:07:48] day. The good news that no matter what
[01:07:50] our past, forgiveness and eternal life
[01:07:53] are offered freely through Christ. Lord,
[01:07:56] we know that Charlie knew that this life
[01:07:57] is precious and often shorter than we
[01:08:00] expect. And that's why he lived with
[01:08:02] urgency to point others toward what
[01:08:04] mattered most, a real and personal
[01:08:07] relationship with Jesus Christ. As
[01:08:09] Charlie himself said, "Give your life to
[01:08:12] Jesus and he will rescue you."
[01:08:15] As he reminded us,
[01:08:18] our hope is not talking about politics
[01:08:20] or success or even the good that we can
[01:08:22] do. It's only found in Jesus Christ. And
[01:08:25] that hope is available to all tonight.
[01:08:28] Charlie once said recently, "Jesus
[01:08:30] defeated death so that we can live." So
[01:08:32] tonight, as we honor Charlie's memory,
[01:08:35] may we also take heart to the message of
[01:08:36] his life. Let's choose to walk with that
[01:08:39] same courage to love people deeply, to
[01:08:42] stand boldly for truth, and most
[01:08:44] importantly, Lord, would we anchor our
[01:08:46] lives on you? And it's your son's holy
[01:08:49] name we pray. Amen.
[01:08:51] >> Amen.
[01:08:54] Please rise and join retired Colonel
[01:08:57] Mark Shirley for the pledge of
[01:08:59] allegiance.
[01:09:12] Good evening. Please join me as we
[01:09:14] recite the pledge of allegiance.
[01:09:17] I pledge allegiance to the flag of the
[01:09:21] United States of America and to the
[01:09:24] republic for which it stands, one nation
[01:09:28] under God, indivisible, with liberty and
[01:09:31] justice for all.
[01:09:34] >> Thank you so much.
[01:09:39] [Applause]
[01:09:46] Please remain standing as we enter into
[01:09:48] worship led by Shan Boyd.
[01:09:52] [Music]
[01:09:56] Amazing
[01:09:57] [Music]
[01:09:58] grace,
[01:10:00] how sweet
[01:10:02] the son
[01:10:05] that saved
[01:10:07] a wretch
[01:10:10] like me.
[01:10:14] I once
[01:10:16] was lost
[01:10:19] but now
[01:10:21] I found.
[01:10:23] was blind, but now
[01:10:28] I see.
[01:10:30] It was grace. It was grace
[01:10:34] that taught
[01:10:36] my heart
[01:10:38] to feel.
[01:10:41] And grace my fears
[01:10:45] relief.
[01:10:49] How preious
[01:10:52] is that grace

[01:11:26] Jesus
[01:11:30] and grace will lead
[01:11:34] me home. When we've been there,
[01:11:37] when we've

[01:12:09] [Music]
[01:12:12] Amazing
[01:12:14] grace,
[01:12:16] how sweet
[01:12:18] the sound
[01:12:20] that saved
[01:12:22] a rich
[01:12:25] like me.
[01:12:29] I once
[01:12:31] was lost
[01:12:34] but now
[01:12:36] I am found.
[01:12:38] Was blind
[01:12:40] but now
[01:12:43] I see.
[01:12:48] You're worthy of it all.
[01:12:55] You're worthy of it all.
[01:13:02] For from you are all things
[01:13:06] and to you are all things.
[01:13:10] You deserve the glory.
[01:13:16] Come on, lift it up. You are worthy of
[01:13:19] it all.
[01:13:22] [Music]
[01:13:25] You are worthy of it all.
[01:13:28] [Music]
[01:13:32] For from you are all things
[01:13:36] and to you all things.
[01:13:40] You deserve the glory.
[01:13:44] Come on. Name above all names.
[01:13:46] [Music]
[01:13:49] You're the name above all name.
[01:13:54] [Music]
[01:13:56] Heat. Heat. Heat.
[01:14:00] [Music]
[01:14:07] How great
[01:14:10] is our God?
[01:14:14] The name
[01:14:18] you're the name of my heart.
[01:14:24] [Music]
[01:14:26] You are
[01:14:30] [Music]
[01:14:33] my heart will see
[01:14:37] how great
[01:14:40] is my God.
[01:14:44] How great how great
[01:14:48] and how great
[01:14:51] is our God.
[01:14:54] Sing with me.
[01:14:58] [Music]
[01:15:02] I see how great
[01:15:07] [Music]
[01:15:10] is our God.
[01:15:12] Come on. One more time. Sing it. How
[01:15:14] great.
[01:15:19] [Music]
[01:15:21] is our God.
[01:15:24] Sing with me
[01:15:28] is our God.
[01:15:32] Oh, see how great
[01:15:36] how great
[01:15:40] is our God.
[01:15:42] Come on. Yeah.
[01:15:44] Heat.
[01:16:02] In my heart sing
[01:16:08] [Music]
[01:16:14] the name
[01:16:16] [Music]
[01:16:17] you're the name
[01:16:21] [Music]
[01:16:25] You are worthy.
[01:16:32] In my heart will sing
[01:16:36] how great
[01:16:38] [Music]
[01:16:40] is our God.
[01:16:42] [Music]
[01:16:47] [Applause]
[01:16:50] [Music]
[01:16:51] [Applause]
[01:17:02] Please welcome Malia Shirley and
[01:17:05] Charlotte Perez, dear friends of Charlie
[01:17:07] Kirk and former Turning Point team
[01:17:09] members with tonight's welcoming
[01:17:11] remarks.
[01:17:14] [Applause]
[01:17:23] Please feel free to have a seat.
[01:17:29] >> Good evening everyone. My name is Malia
[01:17:32] Shirley and I'm Charlotte Pros.
[01:17:34] >> We want to thank everyone for gathering
[01:17:36] with us tonight to celebrate the life
[01:17:39] and legacy of the one and only Charlie
[01:17:42] Kirk. We also want to thank President of
[01:17:45] the Kennedy Center, Ambassador Rick
[01:17:47] Rennell, and his amazing staff without
[01:17:50] whom this event would not have been
[01:17:52] possible.
[01:18:08] When the horrific, tragic assassination
[01:18:11] of Charlie took place on Wednesday, we
[01:18:14] were devastated, as were millions across
[01:18:16] the country and the world. As I'm sure
[01:18:19] many of you have seen, vigils, prayer
[01:18:22] services, and memorials started popping
[01:18:25] up everywhere completely organically.
[01:18:28] We kept waiting to hear of one that was
[01:18:32] going to be happening in the DC area.
[01:18:35] And as patience is not the strongest
[01:18:37] virtue that either of us possess,
[01:18:42] by Thursday evening, we were going stir
[01:18:44] crazy and knew we had to do something.
[01:18:48] That's when we banded together to do
[01:18:50] what Turning Point quite literally
[01:18:52] trained us for, to plan a massive event
[01:18:56] like this with all but 48 hours notice.
[01:19:01] [Applause]
[01:19:11] truly to honor one of the greatest men
[01:19:14] that we've ever known. Another thank you
[01:19:16] to the over 80 volunteers who were made
[01:19:19] up as of friends, Turning Point alum,
[01:19:21] and those simply inspired by Charlie to
[01:19:23] get involved and lend a hand. It takes
[01:19:26] an army to pull off something like this.
[01:19:28] And thankfully over the past decade,
[01:19:30] that's exactly what Charlie has built.
[01:19:42] [Applause]
[01:19:44] Exactly one year ago today, I stood with
[01:19:47] Charlie Kirk on campus at the University
[01:19:50] of Nebraska Lincoln. We were still
[01:19:53] pushing to get winner take all passed in
[01:19:55] the Nebraska legislature before the 2024
[01:19:58] election. He texted me yet again 48
[01:20:02] hours beforehand simply saying, "Hey, if
[01:20:06] I come to the game Saturday, can we do a
[01:20:08] pop-up winner take all rally outside of
[01:20:11] the stadium?" And of course, as one does
[01:20:14] whenever Charlie asks for something,
[01:20:18] of course, we'll make it happen. And we
[01:20:21] did.
[01:20:22] When he showed up to a campus, a crowd
[01:20:24] of 300 to 400 students greeted him
[01:20:28] wanting selfies, their MAGA hats signed,
[01:20:30] or to answer one of his man on the
[01:20:32] street questions in front of the film
[01:20:34] crew.
[01:20:36] I met Charlie for the first time back in
[01:20:38] 2014 when I was only a freshman in
[01:20:40] college trying to start a Turning Point
[01:20:42] USA chapter on my own campus. We really
[01:20:45] got to know each other in 2017 when that
[01:20:48] same campus in Nebraska had professors
[01:20:51] and administrators harassing and yelling
[01:20:54] profanities at our chapter leader there.
[01:20:57] We of course got video footage of the
[01:20:58] insanity. Sent it to Charlie immediately
[01:21:02] and his response was, "Oh, we're going
[01:21:05] to make these people famous.
[01:21:15] and we did if there was any doubt.
[01:21:19] I've planned a lot of events over the
[01:21:21] years, both with and for Charlie. From
[01:21:24] debates with theology professors and
[01:21:26] campus class tours to county party
[01:21:29] fundraisers and pop-up rallies, it was
[01:21:33] incredible to witness the growth of
[01:21:35] Turning Point USA under his leadership.
[01:21:42] We went from having to all but bribe
[01:21:45] people to attend our events on campus
[01:21:47] because it was not yet cool to be a
[01:21:50] conservative in politics to having to
[01:21:53] turn people away at events because we
[01:21:56] reached max capacity with very little
[01:21:58] promotion.
[01:22:00] The one thing I never imagined though
[01:22:02] was that this would be the last event
[01:22:04] that I planned for him.
[01:22:07] I owe a lot in my life to Charlie Kirk,
[01:22:10] as I know so many do. His ability to
[01:22:13] invest in you, bring out the best in
[01:22:16] you, and push you to be better and work
[01:22:19] harder is unmatched.
[01:22:21] People like him only come along once in
[01:22:24] a generation.
[01:22:25] I'm a better person for knowing him, and
[01:22:28] we're a better we're a better country
[01:22:29] because of him.
[01:22:42] Echoing everything Malia just said, our
[01:22:45] country would look very different today
[01:22:47] if it wasn't for Charlie Kirk.
[01:22:57] What started as a small get together on
[01:22:59] the Washington Monument quickly became
[01:23:02] very much bigger. We are honored to have
[01:23:05] so many amazing speakers here with us
[01:23:08] tonight who knew Charlie well and wanted
[01:23:10] the opportunity to share their personal
[01:23:12] close stories with him as I'm sure many
[01:23:14] of us have. In one way or another, we
[01:23:17] are all connected by Charlie Kirk. Your
[01:23:20] MC for the evening will be someone who
[01:23:22] is very near and dear to my heart from
[01:23:24] the great state of Arizona, State
[01:23:27] Senator Jake Hoffman.
[01:23:37] Jake has known Charlie for over a decade
[01:23:39] and has been an integral part in the
[01:23:41] building and growth of Turning Point. We
[01:23:44] thank all of you for taking time out of
[01:23:46] your very busy schedules, especially on
[01:23:49] such short notice, to help us honor the
[01:23:52] life and legacy of Charles James Kirk.
[01:23:55] And with that, our program will
[01:23:57] officially begin.
[01:24:06] Ladies and gentlemen, there are plenty
[01:24:08] of people looking for seats. If you have
[01:24:11] any seats to open, please
[01:24:15] go move together so we can have everyone
[01:24:17] sit.
[01:24:20] Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome
[01:24:23] Arizona State Senator and longtime
[01:24:25] friend of Charlie Kirk, Senator Jake
[01:24:27] Hoffman.
[01:24:37] Well, I got to just say this is a
[01:24:40] beautiful sight because this is exactly
[01:24:43] what Charlie would want to see right
[01:24:46] now.
[01:24:48] This coming together of young and old,
[01:24:52] of our nation's leaders, some of the
[01:24:54] most powerful people on planet Earth are
[01:24:56] in this room tonight.
[01:24:59] All because Charlie had an indelible
[01:25:02] impact on their lives the same way that
[01:25:04] he had on your lives.
[01:25:07] You know, there's a lot of thank yous
[01:25:10] for tonight. I'll just echo what they
[01:25:12] said. Thank you to Ambassador Grenell
[01:25:14] and the Kennedy Center staff. I want to
[01:25:17] thank a specific group of four people
[01:25:20] who helped make tonight possible. and
[01:25:22] that Charlotte Perez who you just saw,
[01:25:24] Malia Shirley, Mike Rehea, and there was
[01:25:28] so many more than that, but those three
[01:25:30] put in countless hours of work to make
[01:25:33] tonight possible.
[01:25:43] I want to thank all of you. I want to
[01:25:45] thank everyone in this room that took
[01:25:47] time out of their schedule to be here. I
[01:25:49] want to thank Speaker Johnson for being
[01:25:52] here. All of the White House
[01:25:54] administration officials that are here.
[01:25:58] [Applause]
[01:26:08] And we know there are two special
[01:26:11] individuals in that big, beautiful White
[01:26:14] House that care about Charlie Kirk,
[01:26:15] don't we? President Donald J. Trump and
[01:26:19] Vice President JD Viz love Charlie Kirk
[01:26:23] just like you love Charlie Kirk.
[01:26:27] We have over 85 members of Congress here
[01:26:31] tonight to honor Charlie Kirk.
[01:26:42] We have national conservative leaders
[01:26:46] that have flown in on a moment's notice
[01:26:49] just to be a part of this and to honor
[01:26:52] the life and legacy and the impact of
[01:26:55] Charlie Kirk.
[01:26:56] [Applause]
[01:27:03] We have grassroots from all over the DC
[01:27:07] and Virginia and Maryland areas. Thank
[01:27:10] you all. I saw buses out there. Anybody
[01:27:13] who came on a bus, God bless you for
[01:27:15] doing that.
[01:27:17] And
[01:27:19] [Applause]
[01:27:20] this impact here tonight goes so much
[01:27:22] bigger than just what you see in this
[01:27:24] room because we had every network beg us
[01:27:28] to live stream this. And so we have
[01:27:31] Foxes providing pool coverage and there
[01:27:33] are millions of people that will be
[01:27:35] watching along with us.
[01:27:45] Now, this this is a prayer vigil and so
[01:27:48] bow your heads with me because I want to
[01:27:49] offer up some words for the night. Dear
[01:27:51] heavenly father Jesus, we love you and
[01:27:54] we know that Charlie Kirk loved you
[01:27:56] dearly. God, we know that you have a
[01:27:59] plan for our lives. We know that your
[01:28:04] plan is perfect. And the peace that I
[01:28:07] have been finding these last few days,
[01:28:09] God, is that Charlie Kirk, when he sat
[01:28:11] down at that table, when he picked up
[01:28:13] that microphone,
[01:28:15] he knew that no matter what happened,
[01:28:19] your plan was perfect. God, I pray that
[01:28:22] you will be with the Kirk family. I pray
[01:28:24] that you will be with Erica and those
[01:28:26] little babies. God, just
[01:28:30] bless them because this week they lost a
[01:28:34] husband and they lost a dad,
[01:28:37] God. But we know that Charlie wants us
[01:28:39] to celebrate, not just mourn. And so we
[01:28:42] come to you tonight and we ask that you
[01:28:43] would let this be an honor to his legacy
[01:28:46] and that we would celebrate him all
[01:28:47] alike. In your name, amen.
[01:28:52] So with that in mind, because friends,
[01:28:54] we are mourning, but we are also
[01:28:56] celebrating an incredible life. From
[01:29:00] South Korea to London, Charlie Kirk has
[01:29:03] had an impact. From student campuses to
[01:29:06] the White House, Charlie Kirk has had an
[01:29:09] impact. So I got to ask you, if you are
[01:29:12] in here and you are under the age of 35
[01:29:16] and Charlie Kirk touched your life,
[01:29:18] let's hear you.
[01:29:27] [Applause]
[01:29:41] You know, there's a motto going around
[01:29:43] the Turning Point offices right now, and
[01:29:46] that's we are all Charlie Kirk. Now you
[01:29:50] are all Charlie Kirk. Now
[01:29:55] Charlie Kirk sacrificed his life
[01:29:58] defending our civil liberties to engage
[01:30:01] in free and open and honest debate.
[01:30:05] Charlie Kirk,
[01:30:07] you know, I know a different side of
[01:30:09] this man. I've known Charlie for a very
[01:30:13] long time since he was a Chicago boy who
[01:30:16] was trying to figure out whether he was
[01:30:18] going to make the move to DC as he grew
[01:30:20] his organization or whether he was going
[01:30:23] to move to the heartland. And it was a
[01:30:27] it was his right-hand man, Tyler Boyer.
[01:30:30] Tyler Boyer has been by his side since
[01:30:33] day one. and he convinced Charlie and
[01:30:36] they decided that it was better to move
[01:30:38] to the heartland because everyday
[01:30:41] Americans were who were going to save
[01:30:43] this country. It was going to be the
[01:30:45] people that live on Main Street, not the
[01:30:48] people
[01:30:49] that perpetually run for office.
[01:30:54] you know, 2019, it was New Year's Day,
[01:30:57] and most people on New Year's Day are
[01:30:59] are, you know, waking up slow and having
[01:31:02] breakfast because they probably stayed
[01:31:03] up too late the night before. And I get
[01:31:06] a frantic text text from Charlie Kirk
[01:31:08] and he says, "Jake, you got to come to
[01:31:10] the office. We're h we're having a team
[01:31:12] meeting to strategize for the next three
[01:31:14] years."
[01:31:16] And yes, sir, cuz that's what you do
[01:31:18] with Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk is a
[01:31:21] personality. He was a personality that
[01:31:24] when he asked you to do something, you
[01:31:26] knew in your bones that he knew what he
[01:31:28] was talking about. Because his
[01:31:30] convictions, they weren't driven by
[01:31:32] personal ambitions. They weren't driven
[01:31:35] by a desire for celebrity. They weren't
[01:31:37] driven by a desire for fame or for power
[01:31:42] or influence or for money. Charlie cared
[01:31:46] about the principles of America. He
[01:31:49] cared about the history of America. and
[01:31:51] he built an organization with people
[01:31:54] like Tyler by his side and many, many
[01:31:56] others, thousands of others by his side.
[01:32:00] He built an organization to give you a
[01:32:03] voice.
[01:32:05] And so, I hope that tonight this will be
[01:32:07] an honor to him. I hope that we can do
[01:32:09] him right by this service. God bless you
[01:32:12] all. And I want to welcome up Speaker
[01:32:15] Mike Johnson.
[01:32:18] Please welcome the Speaker of the United
[01:32:21] States House of Representatives, Mike
[01:32:23] Johnson.
[01:32:42] [Applause]
[01:32:55] All right. Thank you all so much. It
[01:32:58] does my heart good to see you. And they
[01:33:00] hear that all the way in heaven. I'm
[01:33:01] telling you.
[01:33:04] It's been a very, very difficult week in
[01:33:06] America. We all know that. It's been a
[01:33:08] mixture of unspeakable
[01:33:10] sadness and grief and anger and and even
[01:33:14] fear. It's as if a a dark shadow was
[01:33:17] cast over our country and certainly here
[01:33:20] even on Capitol Hill. Uh the leaders of
[01:33:24] the nation have been shaken as have
[01:33:26] university students and college students
[01:33:28] and young people all across the country
[01:33:30] as that the ground was shifted beneath
[01:33:33] us. We all felt it deep, deep inside.
[01:33:36] And in spite of that, we remember that
[01:33:41] our dear friend Charlie would never want
[01:33:44] us to be overcome by despair. He would
[01:33:47] want exactly the opposite. You know,
[01:33:49] Charlie Kirk recruited and trained and
[01:33:52] educated a generation of happy warriors.
[01:33:56] And we do well to be reminded that the
[01:33:59] best way to honor his memory and to
[01:34:01] honor his unmatched legacy is to live as
[01:34:06] Charlie did.
[01:34:08] >> That's right.
[01:34:16] I I I just have two thoughts in a very
[01:34:18] brief moment I'm given to speak to you
[01:34:20] tonight. I just want to give you two
[01:34:21] thoughts with in that regard. If we can
[01:34:24] do two things that Charlie did, we will
[01:34:26] honor that legacy. One is to advance his
[01:34:29] principles and the other is to adopt his
[01:34:33] approach. Now, regarding his principles,
[01:34:36] Charlie was a man of deep faith and
[01:34:38] conviction. Everyone here can testify to
[01:34:40] that and all the speakers will tonight.
[01:34:41] I mean, he meant it to his core. He was
[01:34:44] authentic and that's what drew people to
[01:34:46] the message so much. And he believed in
[01:34:48] the things that are noble and
[01:34:49] praiseworthy and good that scripture
[01:34:51] talks about. He believed in family and
[01:34:54] freedom, faith, and virtue and and
[01:34:56] patriotism. See, Charlie understood that
[01:34:58] we live in the greatest nation in the
[01:35:00] history of the world. It's not even
[01:35:01] close.
[01:35:13] I don't care what anybody argues, and
[01:35:15] Charlie could beat them all. We're the
[01:35:17] most
[01:35:18] we're the most free, most successful,
[01:35:20] most powerful, most benevolent nation
[01:35:22] that has ever been on the earth. And
[01:35:23] Charlie understood why. And he wanted
[01:35:25] others to understand it as well. Because
[01:35:27] Charlie knew that if you don't
[01:35:29] understand the source of your freedom,
[01:35:30] it is easy for it to be taken away.
[01:35:33] Charlie believed in the creed of our
[01:35:34] country, which we will celebrate our
[01:35:36] 250th anniversary next year. Right.
[01:35:46] Charlie loved to take university
[01:35:47] students and young people through the
[01:35:49] second paragraph the declaration. We
[01:35:51] hold these truths to be self-evident. By
[01:35:53] the way, students, what is the
[01:35:54] self-evident truth? It's something
[01:35:55] that's obvious. We hold these truths to
[01:35:57] be self-evident that all men are created
[01:36:00] equal. Not born equal. Created equal.
[01:36:03] That's what Charlie knew.
[01:36:12] And Charlie knew that that because of
[01:36:14] that, because what the founders said,
[01:36:15] what they articulated that that that
[01:36:17] that God created us, he's the one that
[01:36:19] gave us our inalienable rights. Charlie
[01:36:21] Kirk stood for the principle and he
[01:36:23] shared it everywhere he could. Our
[01:36:25] rights do not derive from the state or a
[01:36:28] king. They come from the king of kings.
[01:36:32] [Applause]
[01:36:41] Charlie also taught so effectively. He
[01:36:43] did it as well as anybody in his
[01:36:44] generation or possibly for many
[01:36:46] generations that the other principles
[01:36:48] that come from that what the founders do
[01:36:50] and when they put this country together
[01:36:52] this grand experiment in self-governance
[01:36:53] they understood that we are made in the
[01:36:56] image of God. And because of that,
[01:36:58] that's right.
[01:37:00] Because of that, Charlie knew and he
[01:37:02] believed it and you could see it in how
[01:37:03] he he advanced this ministry of his. He
[01:37:06] knew that because we're all made in the
[01:37:08] image of God, every single person has
[01:37:10] inestimable dignity and value. And your
[01:37:12] values are not related in any way to the
[01:37:14] color of your skin or what zip code you
[01:37:15] live in, where you go to school. It's
[01:37:17] irrelevant. Your value is inherent
[01:37:19] because it is given to you by God.
[01:37:21] That's what Charlie Kirk believed.
[01:37:22] That's what Charlie Kirk
[01:37:32] If we could advance those principles
[01:37:34] that Charlie advanced, we'll be able to
[01:37:36] save this great republic. And that's
[01:37:37] what he was all about. But we should
[01:37:39] also adopt his approach. See, Charlie
[01:37:42] loved a vigorous debate, but he loved
[01:37:45] people more.
[01:37:47] Charlie, that's right. Charlie Charlie
[01:37:50] was never v motivated by hate. I mean,
[01:37:52] he could clean the of anybody in a
[01:37:54] debate. We all know it. But you know
[01:37:56] what he did after those debates? He was
[01:37:57] always the first person to reach out a
[01:37:59] hand of friendship or to offer an arm
[01:38:01] around the shoulder of someone who he
[01:38:03] felt was lost. Because in many places,
[01:38:05] in many cases, the people he was
[01:38:07] debating were indeed lost. Not just
[01:38:09] philosophically, but spiritually. And
[01:38:12] Charlie knew the truth. And he knew that
[01:38:16] eternity awaits us all. We know exactly
[01:38:19] where Charlie is right now.
[01:38:22] >> That's right.
[01:38:31] Charlie had such faith and such such
[01:38:33] belief and he wanted to share that truth
[01:38:34] with others and what he was trying to do
[01:38:36] is pull people back from the abyss not
[01:38:38] just to save a country but to save
[01:38:40] souls. That's what Charlie Kirk was
[01:38:43] about and that that will resonate. It
[01:38:45] goes far beyond him. His legacy is
[01:38:47] immeasurable. I used to be a lawyer. I
[01:38:50] defended free speech and religious
[01:38:52] freedom and and all that in the courts
[01:38:53] and we tried to we talked a lot about
[01:38:55] advancing and preserving the free
[01:38:56] marketplace of ideas. I think Charlie
[01:38:59] Kerr
[01:39:01] offered more productive content the free
[01:39:03] marketplace of ideas than anyone in its
[01:39:06] generation and arguably in the last 100
[01:39:08] years of US history.
[01:39:19] I could go on and on, but I'm out of
[01:39:20] time because you have a lot of great
[01:39:22] people to hear from tonight. Everybody
[01:39:23] has a story about Charlie and they're
[01:39:25] all worthy to be shared and I would know
[01:39:27] we'll be doing that for many days to
[01:39:28] come. I just leave you with a thought
[01:39:30] from Edund Burke. It's attributed to him
[01:39:32] and Charlie knew this quote well. He was
[01:39:34] my friend. We talked about these things.
[01:39:36] He he reminded young people all that is
[01:39:39] necessary for the triumph of evil is
[01:39:41] that good men do nothing. Charlie Kirk
[01:39:44] did so much in his short life that he
[01:39:48] spurred that on in other people. He
[01:39:49] inspired it in other people. And that
[01:39:51] message and that truth will go more
[01:39:53] boldly now than it did while he was
[01:39:56] here. It will go forward with power and
[01:39:58] strength. That's it.
[01:40:10] I've been asked to offer a brief word of
[01:40:11] prayer. So, if you would do that with
[01:40:14] me. Heavenly Father, we come to you
[01:40:15] tonight in sadness, but also with
[01:40:18] grateful hearts because we know that
[01:40:20] your truth endures. We know where our
[01:40:23] dear brother and friend Charlie is. We
[01:40:26] thank you that he is receiving his
[01:40:28] reward and that he's heard those words
[01:40:29] that we all aspire to hear. Well done,
[01:40:32] good and faithful servant. Father, help
[01:40:35] us to remember the principles of your
[01:40:36] word that Charlie worked every day to
[01:40:39] advance that we do not return evil for
[01:40:42] evil, but we overcome evil with good.
[01:40:46] And we pray that you bless our friend
[01:40:48] and brother's legacy that it goes on,
[01:40:51] roars on throughout the nation, that you
[01:40:54] pray and encourage and inspire Erica,
[01:40:57] the children, the the Kirk family, the
[01:40:59] the Turning Point staff and and all the
[01:41:02] volunteers and supporters and every
[01:41:03] student around the nation who is who is
[01:41:06] already connected to this organization
[01:41:07] and the 18,000 plus inquiries that they
[01:41:10] received this week for new chapters.
[01:41:13] Heavenly Father, we pray that you bless
[01:41:15] that in such a supernatural, exponential
[01:41:17] way that no one can explain it, but that
[01:41:20] your spirit has been involved. We pray
[01:41:23] and believe all this and we commit our
[01:41:25] great nation to you in Jesus name. Amen.
[01:41:29] >> Amen.
[01:41:40] Ladies and gentlemen, the White House
[01:41:43] press secretary, Caroline Le.
[01:41:55] [Applause]
[01:42:04] Good evening everyone. Good evening.
[01:42:05] Please be seated. Thank you so much.
[01:42:08] It's such an honor to be here behind a
[01:42:10] podium. I'm very comfortable behind
[01:42:12] podiums.
[01:42:14] And it's really comforting to be around
[01:42:16] so many good, faithful, God-fearing
[01:42:19] people at a time when I know we are all
[01:42:22] still mourning. We're confused. We are
[01:42:24] angry over the assassination of a
[01:42:27] legendary American and a friend to so
[01:42:29] many in this room and so many across the
[01:42:31] country, Charlie Kirk. The presence of
[01:42:34] God and he is a good God. As Erica Kirk
[01:42:38] so beautifully and powerfully stated, he
[01:42:40] is a good God. He is clearly present in
[01:42:43] this room tonight. You can feel the
[01:42:44] spirit moving and working in this room
[01:42:47] as we remember Charlie's life and his
[01:42:49] legacy. I have the honor of going to
[01:42:52] work every day at the White House as the
[01:42:54] press secretary for the 47th president
[01:42:56] of the United States, President Donald.
[01:43:05] [Applause]
[01:43:13] And I repeat that because I would not be
[01:43:16] in this position if not for the heroic
[01:43:19] efforts of Charlie Kirk, who turned the
[01:43:23] political tide among young people in
[01:43:25] this country and helped usher in
[01:43:27] President Trump's historic victory on
[01:43:29] November 5th, 2024.
[01:43:31] [Applause]
[01:43:40] And I know that point has been said over
[01:43:43] and over by so many over the last few
[01:43:45] days, but it's because that point is
[01:43:47] absolutely true. President Trump's win
[01:43:50] in November was fueled in no small part
[01:43:53] by the tireless work of Charlie, the
[01:43:55] Turning Point organization that he built
[01:43:57] from scratch out of a garage, the true
[01:43:59] essence of the American dream, and the
[01:44:02] MAGA movement that he helped so many
[01:44:04] young people join. The important work
[01:44:07] that's being done every day right down
[01:44:09] the street from here at 1600
[01:44:11] Pennsylvania Avenue that I witness in to
[01:44:14] restore American greatness. It's
[01:44:16] happening in large part due to the
[01:44:19] blood, the sweat, and the tears that
[01:44:21] Charlie poured into this movement. Not
[01:44:23] just during the 2024 cycle, but all the
[01:44:26] way back to the founding of Turning
[01:44:28] Point 13 years ago. Charlie
[01:44:30] fundamentally believed in the potential
[01:44:33] and the promise of so many in this room,
[01:44:36] young patriotic Americans, and he
[01:44:39] inspired millions of us across the
[01:44:42] country to get off the couch and to
[01:44:44] enter the political arena to fight for
[01:44:47] our nation's conservative values. And I,
[01:44:49] too, was one of those young people. When
[01:44:52] I launched my campaign for Congress at
[01:44:54] just 23 years old during the 2022
[01:44:57] midterm elections, most people in this
[01:44:59] town, pretty much all of the people in
[01:45:01] this town of Washington, did not take me
[01:45:04] seriously. Charlie Kirk, however, did.
[01:45:07] Charlie and his political pack, Turning
[01:45:09] Point Action, immediately embraced me
[01:45:12] with open arms and endorsed my campaign.
[01:45:14] Charlie personally and his team would
[01:45:17] check in with me throughout the
[01:45:18] campaign. They asked how they could
[01:45:20] help. And when Washington super PACs
[01:45:22] poured money into the coffers of my
[01:45:24] opponent's campaigns, Charlie and
[01:45:26] Turning Point gave mo me more to me to
[01:45:29] help me across the finish line. Charlie
[01:45:32] and his team flew me out to Arizona to
[01:45:34] introduce me to some of the biggest
[01:45:36] donors in Republican politics so I could
[01:45:38] fuel my race. Charlie welcomed me on
[01:45:41] stage to speak at the Student Action
[01:45:43] Summit in Florida, to raise national
[01:45:45] awareness for my candidacy, and to speak
[01:45:47] directly to young voters. And when most
[01:45:50] played it safe and stuck to the business
[01:45:52] as usual approach of the establishment
[01:45:54] Republican party that no longer exists,
[01:45:56] Charlie looked
[01:46:08] Charlie looked for the outsiders, the
[01:46:10] upand cominging truth tellers with new
[01:46:12] ideas who weren't afraid to challenge
[01:46:14] the status quo, just like President
[01:46:17] Trump whom he loved so much. And I speak
[01:46:19] on behalf of the president when I say
[01:46:22] President Trump loved you, Charlie, so
[01:46:24] much too.
[01:46:31] When the president appointed me as White
[01:46:33] House press secretary, Charlie was one
[01:46:35] of the first people to reach out and
[01:46:37] congratulate me with genuine sincerity.
[01:46:39] I still have that text from him, and I
[01:46:41] will keep it forever. Charlie Kirk was a
[01:46:44] maverick, an independent-minded person
[01:46:46] who had the courage of his convictions.
[01:46:49] When so many influential voices in our
[01:46:51] society are brainwashing young people to
[01:46:54] abandon our faith, to stay single, not
[01:46:56] to have children, and to bash our
[01:46:58] country, Charlie Kirk offered us an
[01:47:00] alternative path. Charlie embraced our
[01:47:03] Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and
[01:47:05] proclaimed the gospel boldly and
[01:47:08] proudly.
[01:47:17] Charlie preached a message of faith to
[01:47:20] all who would listen. He encouraged
[01:47:22] young people to get married and to have
[01:47:24] children. And as a young person who has
[01:47:26] done it, I encourage you to do that as
[01:47:27] well. It is the best thing in life. It
[01:47:30] is the ultimate legacy that we can leave
[01:47:32] and our most important mission on this
[01:47:34] earth. Charlie celebrated American
[01:47:37] exceptionalism and as you heard from our
[01:47:38] great speaker of the house he firmly
[01:47:40] believed and he proclaimed that America
[01:47:43] is the greatest country in the history
[01:47:45] of the world and that's why
[01:47:54] and that's why we must continue to fight
[01:47:56] to protect her. Simply put, Charlie was
[01:47:59] a beaming light in a world that is so
[01:48:02] consumed by darkness. It's going to take
[01:48:04] all of us in this room and all of us
[01:48:06] across the country to take up Charlie's
[01:48:09] torch because that's exactly what he
[01:48:11] would want us to do. We have to lean on
[01:48:14] our faith, dig in and fight back harder
[01:48:16] than ever before for the beliefs and the
[01:48:19] convictions that Charlie Kirk gave his
[01:48:21] life for. That's how we'll honor his
[01:48:23] family and that's how we will honor his
[01:48:25] legacy. If Erica Kirk, God bless her,
[01:48:28] could speak so powerfully in front of
[01:48:30] the entire nation just two days after
[01:48:33] her beloved husband was stolen from her
[01:48:35] and their two beautiful, precious
[01:48:37] children, then every single person in
[01:48:40] this room can rededicate themselves to
[01:48:42] the righteous cause of keeping America
[01:48:45] the greatest country in the history of
[01:48:46] the world.
[01:48:58] So, as I continue to step before the
[01:49:00] White House podium, I will continue to
[01:49:02] pray to our Lord and Savior Jesus
[01:49:04] Christ. But starting tomorrow, every
[01:49:07] time I take that podium, I will think of
[01:49:09] Charlie Kirk. I will remain inspired by
[01:49:12] his courage and his conviction, and I
[01:49:14] will continue to speak the truth as
[01:49:15] Charlie did so well. I will leave you
[01:49:18] all with a scripture that feels so
[01:49:20] perfectly written for the time we are
[01:49:21] in. Romans 12:21.
[01:49:24] Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome
[01:49:27] evil with good. We cannot allow evil to
[01:49:30] prevail in our beautiful country. We
[01:49:33] must all commit ourselves to doing good.
[01:49:35] Good for God, good for our families, and
[01:49:38] good for our nation. In that order, the
[01:49:41] order that Charlie always spoke about.
[01:49:43] May God bless you and keep all of you in
[01:49:45] this room. Thank you.
[01:49:46] [Applause]
[01:49:57] [Applause]
[01:49:58] Please welcome the Director of National
[01:50:01] Intelligence, Pulsey Gather.
[01:50:12] [Applause]
[01:50:27] [Applause]
[01:50:29] Aloha.
[01:50:34] In the book of Corinthians, Paul said,
[01:50:38] "Therefore, we are always of good
[01:50:40] courage."
[01:50:45] And know that while we are at home in
[01:50:47] the body, we are absent from the Lord.
[01:50:51] We are of good courage, I say, and
[01:50:54] prefer to rather be absent from the body
[01:50:57] and be home with the Lord.
[01:51:03] Ultimately, for every one of us,
[01:51:06] the time that we have in this world is
[01:51:09] temporary.
[01:51:11] Our time will come sooner or later. And
[01:51:16] so the critical question that we have
[01:51:17] for ourselves is whatever time we have,
[01:51:22] what are we doing with it? How are we
[01:51:24] making the most of every day that we
[01:51:27] have?
[01:51:30] that Charlie Kirk every single day
[01:51:34] carried out his mission motivated
[01:51:37] by his faith in Jesus Christ and his
[01:51:40] unwavering dedication to defending our
[01:51:44] God-given freedoms enshrined in our
[01:51:45] Constitution and Bill of Rights
[01:51:49] because of his commitment and
[01:51:50] dedication.
[01:51:53] His impact here and around the world is
[01:51:57] profound
[01:51:58] and it is a beautiful thing to see it
[01:52:01] playing out. Now,
[01:52:04] probably like many of you, I had the
[01:52:06] privilege of joining Charlie at some of
[01:52:08] his different campus visits and it was
[01:52:12] truly something to behold
[01:52:14] because he did things that no one else
[01:52:17] would do. as I sat with him in the very
[01:52:19] first time, huge crowd, thousands and
[01:52:21] thousands of yes, students, but faculty
[01:52:24] members and people of all different
[01:52:25] ages. And the first two or three people
[01:52:28] who had stood in line waiting to say
[01:52:30] something to Charlie were very kind and
[01:52:33] they thanked him for his work. They
[01:52:35] praised him. They talked about how he
[01:52:37] positively impacted their lives and was
[01:52:40] powerful to witness and to see.
[01:52:44] But Charlie wasn't there for praise.
[01:52:47] He would call to the crowd and say,
[01:52:49] "Hey, who here disagrees with me? Come
[01:52:53] to the front of the line."
[01:52:55] He listened carefully to everyone. Even
[01:53:00] when others in the crowd booed whoever
[01:53:03] was speaking, he told them to be quiet
[01:53:04] and to let this person speak, to show
[01:53:06] them respect. And he engaged in that
[01:53:10] lively debate. He encouraged it. He
[01:53:12] welcomed it. And he inspired it in
[01:53:14] others.
[01:53:17] not belittling them, not arguing just to
[01:53:19] argue, but to have a real sincere
[01:53:22] dialogue.
[01:53:26] You know, I've said many times, and
[01:53:28] every soldier lives this fact, this
[01:53:32] truth. I may disagree with what you say,
[01:53:34] but I will defend to the death for your
[01:53:36] right to say it. Charlie lived by this
[01:53:39] principle.
[01:53:50] Charlie lived by the principle that no
[01:53:52] matter how horrible another person's
[01:53:54] speech may be, their ideas
[01:53:57] must be defeated by better ideas, not by
[01:54:02] resorting to violence.
[01:54:07] [Applause]
[01:54:11] You know, Charlie was killed on
[01:54:14] September 10th. On September 11th, we
[01:54:17] observed the 24th anniversary of the
[01:54:19] Islamist terrorist attack on our country
[01:54:22] 24 years ago.
[01:54:24] Now, these events have something in
[01:54:26] common. They were both carried out by
[01:54:28] those who hold on to ideologies that
[01:54:32] cannot stand up to scrutiny and
[01:54:34] challenge. So they feel that their only
[01:54:36] recourse is to commit an act of violence
[01:54:39] to silence those who oppose them and to
[01:54:42] intimidate and terrorize others into
[01:54:45] silence.
[01:54:47] This is the definition of terrorism.
[01:54:51] We cannot allow ourselves to be
[01:54:53] terrorized into silence.
[01:54:56] We need to live Charlie Kirk's example,
[01:55:00] the example that he set that are
[01:55:03] captured by the words of Reverend Martin
[01:55:05] Luther King. Darkness cannot drive out
[01:55:07] darkness. Only light can do that. Hate
[01:55:10] cannot drive out hate.
[01:55:13] Only love can do that. This was more
[01:55:16] than a quote from an icon in our past to
[01:55:21] Charlie. He lived this every day and he
[01:55:24] inspired countless people around the
[01:55:26] world to do the same.
[01:55:30] [Applause]
[01:55:38] And in the wake of this tragedy, this
[01:55:41] has been what to me has been beautiful
[01:55:43] to see how today and you know Sunday
[01:55:46] football games all across the country,
[01:55:50] these teams were leading moments of
[01:55:52] silence, putting pictures of Charlie up
[01:55:54] on the big screen, having a fly over
[01:55:57] with the flags flying at half staff to
[01:56:00] honor the impact of Charlie's life, how
[01:56:03] he positively inspired countless people
[01:56:07] and how it's up to us to continue
[01:56:10] Charlie's legacy. It's time for us every
[01:56:14] day in how we engage with others to
[01:56:17] choose to live aloha,
[01:56:21] love, respect.
[01:56:32] You know, from my home state of Hawaii,
[01:56:33] the reason why we greet each other with
[01:56:35] the word aloha is because of its deeply
[01:56:40] spiritual meaning. It doesn't actually
[01:56:41] mean hello or goodbye.
[01:56:44] We greet each other with aloha because
[01:56:46] what we are really saying when we say
[01:56:48] aloha is I see you as a child of God and
[01:56:52] I respect you as such.
[01:56:56] It is to recognize that God is all
[01:56:58] powerful and God's love is all powerful.
[01:57:03] Love is not weak.
[01:57:05] Respect for others is not weak. There is
[01:57:09] nothing more powerful than love.
[01:57:13] Living aloha, living that love and
[01:57:15] respect. It doesn't mean being a
[01:57:17] pacifist or rolling over when our ideas
[01:57:20] are challenged or when our freedoms are
[01:57:22] under attack. Actually, it's the exact
[01:57:24] opposite.
[01:57:25] It means standing up, fueled by love, to
[01:57:29] defeat hate, to defeat that evil and
[01:57:32] that darkness, and to speak the truth
[01:57:35] and defend our fundamental freedoms that
[01:57:37] are granted to us by God.
[01:57:40] Charlie lived this.
[01:57:48] Charlie embodied this. And Charlie
[01:57:50] changed hearts and minds of countless
[01:57:53] people around the world because he made
[01:57:56] a conscious choice every day to choose
[01:58:00] love.
[01:58:02] I had a friend of mine who sent me a
[01:58:04] text
[01:58:05] um the day after Charlie was killed,
[01:58:08] really distraught,
[01:58:11] and she said, "What do we do now?"
[01:58:15] I know the answer should be love. The
[01:58:18] answer should be peace. But Charlie
[01:58:19] tried that and it didn't work.
[01:58:23] And my response to her was, "No,
[01:58:26] it did work." Powerfully
[01:58:35] [Applause]
[01:58:39] and that's why they killed him.
[01:58:43] We look at the movement that Charlie
[01:58:44] inspired around the world. love, truth,
[01:58:47] freedom, turning to God in good times
[01:58:50] and hard times, not asking God what he
[01:58:52] will do for us. But as Charlie said,
[01:58:55] quote, I am far more interested in God
[01:58:57] in what God wants from me than what I
[01:59:00] want from God.
[01:59:02] He said, my prayer is very simple. God,
[01:59:07] use me for your will.
[01:59:12] If only 10 of us committed ourselves to
[01:59:15] continuing Charlie's mission, that alone
[01:59:18] would be incredible. To be that
[01:59:20] fertilizer and that water that will help
[01:59:23] spread this light that is inspired by
[01:59:25] God's love.
[01:59:28] But there are far more than 10 of us.
[01:59:30] There are countless people,
[01:59:41] countless people around the world
[01:59:43] speaking different languages, have
[01:59:45] different backgrounds, different views
[01:59:48] and opinions,
[01:59:49] who are eager to carry on Charlie's
[01:59:52] mission to spread this light inspired by
[01:59:56] God's love, which will also expose those
[01:59:59] who are trying to shut down free speech,
[02:00:02] trying to silence us through violence,
[02:00:05] intimidation, and terrorism. It will
[02:00:07] expose them for who they are and the
[02:00:10] hollowess and emptiness and weakness of
[02:00:14] the ideas that they present.
[02:00:18] [Applause]
[02:00:26] So while we will miss Charlie dearly,
[02:00:32] our hearts should not be broken
[02:00:35] because we are confident that Charlie is
[02:00:37] at home with the Lord.
[02:00:40] Embrace in the loving arms of Jesus
[02:00:43] Christ to whom he dedicated his life.
[02:00:48] Those who are full of anger and
[02:00:49] hopelessness and hate right now, some of
[02:00:51] them protesting outside this hall today.
[02:00:56] Unfortunately, they do not have the
[02:00:58] spiritual happiness that Charlie
[02:01:01] experienced.
[02:01:03] They're empty. And this is where their
[02:01:06] anger is coming from. It is their
[02:01:08] rejection of God, their desire to be
[02:01:11] God. And therefore, they have made God
[02:01:13] their enemy.
[02:01:17] I have hope today
[02:01:20] that every one of us will do our best
[02:01:24] to shine the light of God's love in our
[02:01:27] lives and in our work. That we will
[02:01:30] treat each other with aloha respect
[02:01:34] and stand strong and unshakable in the
[02:01:37] defense of our God-given rights and
[02:01:40] freedoms.
[02:01:41] May God bless you all and may God bless
[02:01:44] this great nation.
[02:01:46] Hello.
[02:01:56] [Applause]
[02:02:13] Now joining us, the Secretary of Health
[02:02:16] and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy J.
[02:02:38] [Applause]
[02:02:57] Yesterday,
[02:02:59] my 17-year-old niece left for Europe to
[02:03:03] go to college
[02:03:05] And while she was packing, her mother,
[02:03:07] Amarillis, my daughter-in-law,
[02:03:10] noticed that she had put a Bible in her
[02:03:12] suitcase. And Amarillis was curious
[02:03:16] about it. And she asked her, and Zoe
[02:03:20] said to her, "I want to live like
[02:03:23] Charlie Kirk."
[02:03:34] There are millions and millions of kids
[02:03:36] around the country who he inspired who
[02:03:39] now want to live with Charlie Kirk and
[02:03:42] that's a great thing for our country. I
[02:03:45] met Charlie for the first time in July
[02:03:47] of 2001.
[02:03:50] I went on his podcast
[02:03:52] and I think we approached each other
[02:03:54] with a lot of trepidation at that time
[02:03:56] but by the end of the podcast
[02:03:59] we were soulmates, we were spiritual
[02:04:02] brothers and uh we were we were friends
[02:04:09] and over the next couple of years our
[02:04:11] friendship blossom.
[02:04:13] He ended up being the primary architect
[02:04:16] of my unification with President Trump,
[02:04:19] which I
[02:04:20] [Applause]
[02:04:31] [Applause]
[02:04:32] did my endorsement at his rally at the
[02:04:34] Turning Point rally in in Scottsdale.
[02:04:39] and he was the one who put the sparklers
[02:04:42] on the stage when I
[02:04:44] when I show he made a big show of it.
[02:04:47] But the the overarching
[02:04:51] mission of Charlie Kirk was Jesus but
[02:04:56] also free speech and he saw them as
[02:04:59] intertwined.
[02:05:00] He thought conversation was the only way
[02:05:02] we were going to heal our country. that
[02:05:05] we had to learn to talk to each other
[02:05:07] was without vitriolo, without poison,
[02:05:10] without anger. We had to be listen able
[02:05:13] to listen to ideas. We had to be able to
[02:05:16] say what we mean without being mean
[02:05:20] and to talk to each other across this
[02:05:23] divide. It's the only way to end the
[02:05:26] polarization that's driven now by these
[02:05:28] algorithms and by all these other forces
[02:05:31] in our society.
[02:05:33] And that first conversation with him
[02:05:35] that I had, we talked a lot. We had a
[02:05:37] wide- ranging conversation. We talked
[02:05:39] mainly about the first amendment.
[02:05:42] We talked about the fact that our
[02:05:43] founders put freedom of speech in the
[02:05:47] first amendment because all the other
[02:05:49] rights are dependent on it. And they a
[02:05:52] government that can silence its
[02:05:54] opponents has license for any kind of
[02:05:56] atrocity.
[02:05:58] And
[02:06:06] We were we were specifically talking
[02:06:09] about what happened during the pandemic.
[02:06:12] Once the government figured out that we
[02:06:14] would put up with the censorship
[02:06:17] and they went after the entire
[02:06:19] constitution and immediately
[02:06:21] [Applause]
[02:06:27] they immediately took away our right to
[02:06:29] assembly. the first amendment right with
[02:06:31] social distancing regulations.
[02:06:34] They shut down the first amendment right
[02:06:36] to worship by closing all of our
[02:06:38] churches for almost a year and keeping
[02:06:42] the liquor stores open as essential
[02:06:44] businesses.
[02:06:46] They went after our fifth amendment
[02:06:48] right
[02:06:50] to pro our property rights. They closed
[02:06:52] down three and a half businesses with no
[02:06:54] due process, no trust compensation.
[02:06:57] They went after our seventh amendment
[02:06:59] right to jury trials by making whole
[02:07:02] categories
[02:07:03] of businesses that we could no longer
[02:07:05] sue no matter what they did to us. They
[02:07:08] went after the fourth amendment right,
[02:07:10] the protection against unwarranted
[02:07:12] surges and seizures
[02:07:14] with all these social distancing
[02:07:16] regulations that made us have to produce
[02:07:18] our medical records before we went to a
[02:07:20] public building or an airplane or
[02:07:22] enjoyed
[02:07:24] other constitutional rights.
[02:07:26] And Charlie, more than any figure in our
[02:07:30] country, led the resistance that has
[02:07:32] restored freedom of speech to this
[02:07:34] country.
[02:07:45] And he built this movement, you
[02:07:49] which is going to make sure that that
[02:07:51] never ever happens again.
[02:08:02] When I
[02:08:04] when my brother David died, I had a
[02:08:08] conversation with my mother who had been
[02:08:10] through more than her share of loss and
[02:08:13] tragedy. And I said, I asked her, I
[02:08:16] said, "Does the hole that they leave in
[02:08:18] you when they die, does it ever get any
[02:08:20] smaller?" and she said, "No, it never
[02:08:23] gets any smaller, but our job is to
[02:08:27] build ourselves bigger around the whole.
[02:08:30] We do that.
[02:08:37] We do that by taking the best virtues
[02:08:40] and character traits of the person that
[02:08:42] we lost and using discipline and
[02:08:45] restraint and practice integrating those
[02:08:48] character traits into our own character.
[02:08:52] And in doing that we make ourselves
[02:08:54] larger and the whole gets proportionally
[02:08:57] smaller. And we also give that person a
[02:09:00] kind of immortality
[02:09:02] because they are now living on the best
[02:09:05] parts of them are now living on in us.
[02:09:08] In one of my conversations and Charlie
[02:09:11] was a target-rich environment for
[02:09:13] virtues.
[02:09:15] We can all think of something
[02:09:17] extraordinary. his love of family, his
[02:09:20] love of God,
[02:09:22] his love of freedom of speech, his
[02:09:25] reverence for this country, his belief
[02:09:28] that we are an exemplary nation. We are
[02:09:31] unique in history. We're the only nation
[02:09:33] with this kind of constitution. In
[02:09:36] Europe, they don't have free speech
[02:09:38] anymore. We have it here. And we are the
[02:09:41] beacon for humanity for the rest of the
[02:09:44] world. And all those
[02:09:57] and all of those visions, his vision,
[02:09:59] his mission to preserve those things,
[02:10:02] his kindness, his kindness in talking to
[02:10:06] people with whom he disagreed
[02:10:08] are all things that we need to learn and
[02:10:11] we need to integrate into our own lives.
[02:10:14] And as Tulsi said, we need to reach out
[02:10:16] with love to the people on the other
[02:10:19] side who are asleep and who are too
[02:10:22] frightened and too panicked
[02:10:25] and too controlled to understand what
[02:10:28] they are losing. And we need to protect
[02:10:30] those things until they wake up.
[02:10:33] And I had a conversation once with
[02:10:36] Charlie where we were talking about the
[02:10:39] danger that we both face from
[02:10:43] challenging entrenched interests. And he
[02:10:46] asked me if I was scared to die. And I
[02:10:48] said to him, "There's a lot worse things
[02:10:50] than dying." And one of those
[02:11:01] chief among us is losing our
[02:11:04] constitutional rights and and
[02:11:07] having our children raised in slavery.
[02:11:11] And
[02:11:13] [Music]
[02:11:17] I said to him at that time, I said,
[02:11:19] "Sometimes our only consolation
[02:11:22] is that we can die with our boots on. We
[02:11:25] can die fighting for these things."
[02:11:38] Charlie gave his life
[02:11:41] so that the rest of us would not have to
[02:11:44] suffer those fates worse than death.
[02:11:47] Now it's our job. He's no longer there
[02:11:50] to lead us to rush in and fill the beer
[02:11:54] breach and win this battle for our
[02:11:57] country, for God, and for our families.
[02:12:00] Thank you.
[02:12:10] [Applause]
[02:12:15] Please welcome the senior advisor for
[02:12:17] the US Agency for Global Media, Carrie
[02:12:20] Lake.
[02:12:30] [Applause]
[02:12:37] Oh, wow.
[02:12:39] Charlie, you can still draw a crowd.
[02:12:44] And uh I know that if Charlie were to be
[02:12:47] told, "Wow, you you filled up Kennedy
[02:12:49] Center tonight." He'd say, "It wasn't
[02:12:51] me. It was God."
[02:12:54] [Applause]
[02:12:56] It was God.
[02:12:58] [Applause]
[02:13:01] Boy, I miss Charlie.
[02:13:04] I will say that he would be he'd have a
[02:13:06] couple criticisms tonight.
[02:13:09] He'd say, "Where are the smoke machines?
[02:13:13] Where's the confetti?
[02:13:15] Where are the sparklers when Bobby
[02:13:17] Kennedy took the stage?
[02:13:20] Because Charlie knew how to put on a
[02:13:23] show to spread the message of Jesus
[02:13:25] Christ. He really did.
[02:13:34] You know what? There there's a in the
[02:13:36] book of Genesis, there's a Bible quote
[02:13:38] that says in so many words it it's
[02:13:41] actually a little easier to understand
[02:13:43] if I put it in modern language. What the
[02:13:45] enemy meant for harm, God will use for
[02:13:49] good. And God is using Charlie Kirk for
[02:13:52] good.
[02:14:02] I'm heartbroken about Charlie's loss.
[02:14:08] 31
[02:14:11] and somebody took his life.
[02:14:13] I got the call on Wednesday. I was
[02:14:15] working
[02:14:17] and a friend of mine called and said,
[02:14:19] "Is Charlie okay? I heard he was shot."
[02:14:22] Said, "Charlie who?" Couldn't have been
[02:14:24] charlie Kirk.
[02:14:27] And I got on, of course, I went to
[02:14:29] Twitter. Like, how many of you went to
[02:14:31] Twitter?
[02:14:33] went to Twitter and I saw a clip of
[02:14:35] people running
[02:14:38] and I thought, "That doesn't look good.
[02:14:40] That doesn't look good." I knew Charlie
[02:14:41] was starting up this this amazing
[02:14:44] movement where he was going to go campus
[02:14:45] to campus to talk about America and
[02:14:48] what's happening in America, which is so
[02:14:50] amazing and so powerful,
[02:14:52] and talk to people who disagreed with
[02:14:54] him, debate them. There's nothing more
[02:14:56] peaceful than that.
[02:14:59] At first clip I saw was of of people
[02:15:01] running and I thought that looks bad.
[02:15:03] But of course everything's going to be
[02:15:05] fine.
[02:15:07] And then I saw another clip
[02:15:11] and it was Charlie being asked a
[02:15:13] question
[02:15:15] and out of nowhere an assassin's bullet
[02:15:20] came through the crowd and hit him in
[02:15:21] the neck. We saw his head. We saw the
[02:15:25] blood and we saw him go down.
[02:15:28] We've got to stop this, folks. We can't
[02:15:31] let this go on. This violence has got to
[02:15:33] stop.
[02:15:35] It's got to stop.
[02:15:43] And I'm not going to say our side is
[02:15:45] perfect, but damn it, this is coming
[02:15:47] from the other side.
[02:15:56] How does a 22year-old become so filled
[02:15:59] with hate?
[02:16:02] Five years earlier, I was told he was a
[02:16:04] Trump supporter.
[02:16:06] And we sent our kids off to college and
[02:16:09] they brainwashed him.
[02:16:11] I am making a plea to mothers out there.
[02:16:14] Do not send your children into these
[02:16:17] indoctrination camps. Don't do it. Do
[02:16:20] not do it.
[02:16:29] At one moment, that 22-year-old who shot
[02:16:32] Charlie was a baby in his mother's arms.
[02:16:36] And by all accounts, those parents did a
[02:16:38] good job raising him until he was sent
[02:16:41] off to be brainwashed.
[02:16:44] We have lived through the most horrific
[02:16:47] brainwashing campaign in the history of
[02:16:49] mankind.
[02:16:50] [Applause]
[02:16:56] And the very fact that we're all here
[02:16:59] means we have somehow survived it. We've
[02:17:03] survived it.
[02:17:07] But too many youngsters are not
[02:17:09] surviving it. And we got to stand up
[02:17:13] because some things are nonnegotiable.
[02:17:16] Our children's minds and futures are
[02:17:18] non-negotiable.
[02:17:19] [Applause]
[02:17:29] Charlie Kirk came to my house several
[02:17:31] years ago with Erica. They had just
[02:17:34] gotten married. I remember asking him
[02:17:36] about their beautiful wedding rings that
[02:17:37] were hand they were they were made
[02:17:39] specifically for them. Matching w rings.
[02:17:42] Although I will say Erica had a
[02:17:44] beautiful cascade of diamonds around
[02:17:46] hers.
[02:17:47] Charlie, good job. you did a good job
[02:17:49] with that.
[02:17:51] And they hadn't they hadn't had children
[02:17:53] yet and my children joined us at ta the
[02:17:55] table and it happened to be the day I
[02:17:57] invited them to dinner. It happened to
[02:17:59] be by the grace of God the day that
[02:18:00] President Trump gave me my first
[02:18:03] endorsement from President Donald J.
[02:18:05] Trump which is pretty special.
[02:18:09] [Music]
[02:18:12] Which by the way, thank you Charlie for
[02:18:14] helping us make sure President Trump won
[02:18:16] this time. We got to give him some
[02:18:18] thanks for that.
[02:18:23] Charlie's 25 years younger than me. I'm
[02:18:26] not going to have you do the math.
[02:18:27] Please do not do the math. If I catch
[02:18:29] one of you with a calculator on your
[02:18:31] phone right now, I'm going to have the
[02:18:33] security guards take your phone.
[02:18:36] 25 years younger than me. And I was so
[02:18:38] excited through dinner. I kept saying,
[02:18:40] "I got the endorsement, Charlie." And he
[02:18:42] finally said, "Stop. Enough celebrating.
[02:18:45] Let's play. Let's make the next plan.
[02:18:48] What's the next step? And for two and a
[02:18:50] half hours, Charlie gave me the best
[02:18:52] political advice of anybody in the
[02:18:55] world. I mean, he better political
[02:18:57] advice than you could get from anybody
[02:18:59] who had 60 years on him. And then when
[02:19:02] he left, he said, "From now on," I
[02:19:05] thought this was great. He said, "By the
[02:19:06] way, from now on, your name isn't your
[02:19:08] first name isn't Carrie. Your first name
[02:19:11] is Trump endorsed and your last name is
[02:19:13] Carrie Lake."
[02:19:15] So use that everywhere you go.
[02:19:18] [Music]
[02:19:23] I know we don't have a lot of time.
[02:19:25] There's so many good speakers tonight.
[02:19:26] This is a battle between good and evil.
[02:19:29] I wish I wish we could compromise, but
[02:19:31] you can't compromise with evil. You
[02:19:34] can't compromise with evil.
[02:19:41] Charlie didn't go to college. My
[02:19:43] daughter didn't go to college and said
[02:19:44] she went and worked for Charlie Kirk
[02:19:47] and
[02:19:49] she quit about a year ago and Charlie
[02:19:51] said, "I heard Ruby quit." And I said,
[02:19:53] "Well, she's taking your advice. She
[02:19:56] wants to get married and start a
[02:19:58] family."
[02:20:01] And he said, "Well, that's a pretty good
[02:20:02] reason to quit." So,
[02:20:07] I miss Charlie already. I know all of
[02:20:09] you do. I know that you're comforting
[02:20:11] your children. You might be comforting
[02:20:12] one another, but I just ask us all to
[02:20:16] step up and be strong. Charlie had a
[02:20:19] shirt when he was taken from us. Do you
[02:20:21] remember what that said?
[02:20:24] >> Freedom. We can't have freedom without
[02:20:26] faith. And I believe that Charlie will
[02:20:28] live an even bigger life after after
[02:20:32] Wednesday than he would have before
[02:20:34] Wednesday. And I hate to say that
[02:20:35] because I miss him. But God is using him
[02:20:37] in such powerful ways. Charlie is not
[02:20:39] dead. He's got everlasting life. He's
[02:20:42] got everlasting life.
[02:20:44] [Applause]
[02:20:54] I tried to sleep in today and I and my
[02:20:56] beautiful, wonderful husband brought me
[02:20:58] coffee in bed, which is the best thing
[02:20:59] ever. Find a good spouse, please,
[02:21:02] everybody. If you're not married, find
[02:21:03] one that loves and supports you. And I
[02:21:06] was reading some I got on Twitter and I
[02:21:08] and I happened to one of the first
[02:21:09] things I saw was from Tyler Ber who we
[02:21:12] love in Arizona. He is Charlie's
[02:21:14] right-hand man at Turning Point Action.
[02:21:16] They're trying to put him in prison by
[02:21:18] the way
[02:21:20] because of his support for President
[02:21:22] Trump. So this fight is not over and not
[02:21:24] by a long shot. We're here today
[02:21:27] fighting because Charlie and many people
[02:21:30] before Charlie gave us the courage. But
[02:21:32] it's not going to be easy. If you think
[02:21:34] it's going to be easy now,
[02:21:37] if you're really willing to stand up and
[02:21:39] fight, it's really going to get harder.
[02:21:41] They're going to try to cancel you.
[02:21:43] You're going to lose friends. How many
[02:21:44] of you have lost friends? Raise. Keep
[02:21:47] your hand up. How many of you have been
[02:21:48] cancelled?
[02:21:50] How many of you have been lawfared? I
[02:21:52] need three arms.
[02:21:55] How many of you been deposed,
[02:21:57] subpoenaed?
[02:21:59] It's not going to get easier.
[02:22:01] It only gets easier when we meet the
[02:22:03] Almighty in heaven. That's when it gets
[02:22:05] easier. But until we do, we've got to be
[02:22:08] up for the fight. Before I leave
[02:22:09] tonight, I want to read you something
[02:22:12] that that Tyler shared on Twitter. He
[02:22:14] said, "Please take the time to look
[02:22:16] through these posts." It was a woman who
[02:22:18] had said, "How many of you are going to
[02:22:19] go to church tomorrow because of Charlie
[02:22:21] Kirk?"
[02:22:23] And there were 805 posts as of Saturday
[02:22:27] night. Today, there were about 8,000
[02:22:29] posts.
[02:22:39] Charlie's going to be remembered for
[02:22:41] politics, but he's going to be
[02:22:42] remembered most for bringing people to
[02:22:44] God. Let me just read a couple of these
[02:22:46] because they they move me to tears
[02:22:47] today.
[02:22:50] I'm going to church because that's
[02:22:52] exactly where Charlie would want us to
[02:22:54] be, said one post. One post said, "My
[02:22:57] husband and I are going to try diving
[02:22:58] into this journey with our children for
[02:23:00] the first time ever since Wednesday when
[02:23:03] Charlie died."
[02:23:05] Another person said, "I just bought a
[02:23:07] Bible. I haven't been to church in 10
[02:23:09] years.
[02:23:11] My body hurts. My brain hurts. I need
[02:23:13] rest. And I only know one way to find
[02:23:15] it."
[02:23:17] Another person said, "I bought my first
[02:23:19] Bible on Friday. First Bible I've ever
[02:23:22] owned and I'm finally seeing the light
[02:23:25] of it.
[02:23:27] [Applause]
[02:23:34] How about this one? I haven't been to
[02:23:36] church, one woman said, since I was 10
[02:23:38] or 11. I'm 31. I'm heading to church
[02:23:40] tomorrow morning with my husband and
[02:23:41] kids.
[02:23:46] [Applause]
[02:23:49] I got to find the one I love the most
[02:23:51] because it was the first Bible verse I
[02:23:53] reread when I was 50. I can't find it,
[02:23:55] but I'll tell you what it was. Somebody
[02:23:56] said, "I bought a Bible. I just read the
[02:23:59] book of James, which by the way, I
[02:24:01] highly recommend. It tells you how to be
[02:24:03] a good Christian, and I'm going to
[02:24:05] church tomorrow." Charlie,
[02:24:09] we miss you.
[02:24:11] We love you.
[02:24:13] We're going to protect and stand around
[02:24:14] Erica. She's got an army of mama bears
[02:24:17] and papa bears and cubs around her.
[02:24:20] We're stepping forward and we're going
[02:24:21] to save this republic. You got us going.
[02:24:23] You gave us a voice. You gave us the
[02:24:25] strength and we're going to carry on so
[02:24:27] that we can find the freedom that you
[02:24:29] have. We love you, Charlie. We miss you.
[02:24:31] God bless you all.
[02:24:35] [Applause]
[02:24:50] Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome
[02:24:52] Congresswoman Anna Pelina Luna.
[02:24:55] [Applause]
[02:25:08] I want to thank you all for being here
[02:25:10] today and start by expressing my deepest
[02:25:12] gratitude not just to those who have
[02:25:15] joined us here today, but to the
[02:25:16] millions of Americans who have poured
[02:25:18] out their love, prayers, and support for
[02:25:20] Erica, Charlie's family, and the Turning
[02:25:22] Point USA community during this
[02:25:24] heartbreaking time.
[02:25:26] Like so many of you, I'm still
[02:25:27] struggling to process the reality of
[02:25:29] Charlie's absence. It's hard to accept
[02:25:32] that someone so vibrant and so full of
[02:25:34] life is no longer with us. But in my
[02:25:37] heart, I know Charlie was not would not
[02:25:39] want us to throw in the towel. He'd tell
[02:25:41] us to pick up the mic, to keep pushing,
[02:25:44] and to carry his movement forward with
[02:25:46] unwavering resolve.
[02:25:49] I first met Charlie in August 5th, 2018
[02:25:52] at Turning Point USA's Young Women
[02:25:54] Leadership Sum Summit. I just left the
[02:25:56] Air Force and was working as a counter
[02:25:58] trafficking activist planning on
[02:26:00] attending medical school. At the time,
[02:26:02] Turning Point was a small organization
[02:26:05] with maybe a few hundred people at every
[02:26:07] conference. I vividly remember seeing
[02:26:09] Charlie walk through the crowd, young,
[02:26:11] wearing sneakers, of course, with his
[02:26:13] suits, yet radiating a larger than-l
[02:26:16] life aura. And when he passed by, I
[02:26:19] remember hearing people say, "That's
[02:26:21] Charlie Kirk."
[02:26:24] Even then, you could feel his energy,
[02:26:26] his vision, and his ability to inspire.
[02:26:29] That conference was my own turning point
[02:26:31] for me. It's where I met some of my
[02:26:32] closest friends, many of whom are now
[02:26:35] some of the most influential and biggest
[02:26:36] names in conservative and Republican
[02:26:39] politics.
[02:26:40] I also saw women I admired speak boldly
[02:26:43] about issues that mattered. And what I
[02:26:45] didn't know at the time is that Charlie
[02:26:47] and Turning Point USA was scouting me to
[02:26:49] become their national Hispanic outreach
[02:26:50] director.
[02:26:52] Charlie had this extraordinary gift of
[02:26:54] being able to recognize things in people
[02:26:55] before they realized it for themselves.
[02:26:59] In 2018, when young conservatives and
[02:27:01] Republicans were not being engaged by
[02:27:03] the GOP, Turning Point was ahead of the
[02:27:05] curve. And that was because of Charlie's
[02:27:07] vision and leadership.
[02:27:09] Not long after that summit, I received
[02:27:11] an unexpected phone call from Fox News
[02:27:13] inviting me on air. I never done
[02:27:15] television, and I had no idea how they
[02:27:17] got my contact. And after pressing the
[02:27:19] producer, I later found out that Charlie
[02:27:20] had pitched me to the network in an
[02:27:22] effort to advocate for me sharing my
[02:27:24] immigration perspective.
[02:27:26] That was always Charlie thinking about
[02:27:28] how to lift up other voices, amplify new
[02:27:31] perspectives, and strengthen the
[02:27:32] movement. He understood the challenges
[02:27:34] that we collectively face together. And
[02:27:36] he knew that he couldn't do it alone.
[02:27:39] Shortly after that, I was literally
[02:27:41] preparing to go to medical school, bags
[02:27:43] packed, and I kid you not, 24 hours
[02:27:46] prior, I got a call that changed my
[02:27:48] life.
[02:27:50] Hey, Anna, it's Charlie Kirk from
[02:27:51] Turning Point USA, and I'd like to offer
[02:27:53] you a job as our national Hispanic
[02:27:55] outreach director.
[02:27:58] 24 hours prior, guys.
[02:28:00] That was my fork in the road. Was I
[02:28:03] going to continue on what I thought my
[02:28:05] path was, or was I going to pay
[02:28:06] attention to God knocking at the door
[02:28:08] and showing me that there might be a
[02:28:10] different one? And so, in about 6 hours,
[02:28:14] I decided that I would stay and help
[02:28:16] fight socialism on college campuses
[02:28:19] alongside Charlie.
[02:28:31] And that's where the real adventure
[02:28:32] began. I'll never forget our first
[02:28:35] tableabling campus event. It was in
[02:28:37] Portland, Oregon. So, you know where I'm
[02:28:38] going with this.
[02:28:41] You may have seen the video. Charlie
[02:28:42] Kirk wearing an ice hat sitting at a
[02:28:44] table with a sign that read, "There are
[02:28:47] only two genders."
[02:28:52] As I sat there next to him, student
[02:28:54] after student approached the debate,
[02:28:55] often with heated emotions, but Charlie
[02:28:58] remained cool, calm, and logical. And
[02:29:00] one by one, no matter how controversial
[02:29:03] the question was, he would dismantle
[02:29:05] them with his reasoning. And that's when
[02:29:07] I realized something. Charlie Kirk did
[02:29:10] need college. College needed Charlie
[02:29:12] Kirk.
[02:29:24] Those college tours are some of my
[02:29:25] fondest memories. Charlie's work ethic
[02:29:28] was truly unmatched. only probably
[02:29:30] rivaled by President Trump. He'd be in
[02:29:33] on a different plane every day in a new
[02:29:34] city, at a new campus, all while
[02:29:36] fundraising, engaging in social media,
[02:29:38] appearing on different media outlets,
[02:29:40] and still running Turning Point USA.
[02:29:42] But yet, when he sat at that table or in
[02:29:44] the chair, ready to debate anyone, he
[02:29:46] was truly in his element, fearless,
[02:29:48] focused, and fully committed to the
[02:29:50] truth.
[02:29:51] I saw Turning Point grow from those
[02:29:53] early days of a few hundred attendees to
[02:29:55] conferences with thousands upon
[02:29:57] thousands of young people, all inspired
[02:30:00] by Charlie's vision. Turning Point
[02:30:03] wasn't just a nonprofit. It's a
[02:30:05] movement, a force for change to empower
[02:30:07] young conservatives to take a stand.
[02:30:10] Walking into Turning Point's
[02:30:11] headquarters for the first time, I was
[02:30:12] struck by the energy of young people,
[02:30:14] dynamic, creative, and passionate my age
[02:30:17] were running the entire operation. They
[02:30:20] were making politics fun and accessible
[02:30:22] and impactful. And Charlie had built
[02:30:24] something extraordinary and it was truly
[02:30:26] changing the political landscape.
[02:30:28] One day, Charlie and I were talking. He
[02:30:30] said, "Anna, you really need to share
[02:30:31] your story." He knew my background and
[02:30:34] understood the power of personal
[02:30:35] connection. He taught me that while
[02:30:38] identity politics was real, not everyone
[02:30:40] thought that way, and stories like mine
[02:30:42] could help combat the narrative.
[02:30:44] I remember one of Turning Point's first
[02:30:46] events at Mara Lago showing up and being
[02:30:48] next to this wonderful lady who was
[02:30:50] looking at him beam on stage.
[02:31:04] [Applause]
[02:31:17] I realized I'd been sitting next to
[02:31:18] Charlie Kirk's mom and how proud she was
[02:31:21] to see her young boy there.
[02:31:24] [Applause]
[02:31:31] I was already on social media, but
[02:31:32] Charlie showed me how to use it
[02:31:33] effectively, how to respond to
[02:31:35] headlines, especially those with false
[02:31:37] narratives, and how to win the argument
[02:31:39] with truth. Truth is the best
[02:31:41] disinfectant, he would say. And he truly
[02:31:43] lived by that principle.
[02:31:47] When I decided to run for Congress, I
[02:31:49] had no idea what I was doing. My own
[02:31:51] party worked against me, but Charlie was
[02:31:53] one of the few who backed me from the
[02:31:55] very beginning. Turning Point helped me
[02:31:57] knock doors and Charlie invited me onto
[02:31:59] his podcast to share my message. In a
[02:32:01] world where political alliances are
[02:32:05] often transactional, Charlie asked for
[02:32:07] nothing in return. To him, it was about
[02:32:09] saving our country and advancing the
[02:32:11] movement. He introduced me to some
[02:32:13] incredible people like Caroline Levit,
[02:32:15] who was running for office at that time
[02:32:17] as well. Charlie hosted us both at the
[02:32:19] Student Action Summit, and I often joke
[02:32:21] that Charlie's probably the only reason
[02:32:22] why I have friends.
[02:32:26] Some of the many people that I'm closest
[02:32:28] today I met through his organization and
[02:32:30] this movement.
[02:32:32] Charlie was more than a commentator or a
[02:32:34] show host or an online personality.
[02:32:37] He was a patriot in every sense of the
[02:32:39] word. He lived to preserve our nation's
[02:32:41] founding principles, not just through
[02:32:43] words, but through action. He did not
[02:32:45] just complain about the state of our
[02:32:47] country. He did something about it.
[02:32:50] Even as a private citizen, Charlie
[02:32:52] advised sitting members of Congress.
[02:32:55] During the 2022 speakers fight, he
[02:32:57] called me to check in and asked me what
[02:32:58] was going on. As I'm sure you guys can
[02:33:00] imagine, it was kind of chaotic.
[02:33:02] After explaining everything, he said,
[02:33:04] "Okay, just make sure that you guys know
[02:33:05] when to take the deal." All right.
[02:33:08] President Trump called me shortly
[02:33:09] thereafter and echoed the same advice.
[02:33:11] And that's the kind of influence Charlie
[02:33:13] had. Strategic, brilliant, and trusted.
[02:33:17] I remember discussing inherent contempt
[02:33:19] with Charlie. Charlie was fascinated,
[02:33:21] always eager to dive into the details
[02:33:22] and strategize.
[02:33:24] And I saw Charlie evolve from a young
[02:33:26] man tableabling on college campuses to a
[02:33:29] global leader where he remained humble
[02:33:31] and still driven. Whether at
[02:33:33] conferences, on video calls for media
[02:33:36] hits, or at Mara Lago, he was always
[02:33:38] Charlie, encouraging and pushing us to
[02:33:40] be our best.
[02:33:42] During this past election cycle, I saw
[02:33:44] him in Arizona at a campaign stop while
[02:33:46] I was campaigning with now Vice
[02:33:47] President J. Dance. He pulled me aside
[02:33:50] to share messaging tips as he always
[02:33:52] did. And of course, I took his advice
[02:33:54] because it always worked. Backstage, he
[02:33:57] was chatting it up with JD and doing
[02:33:58] what he did best, building a movement,
[02:34:00] one conversation at a time.
[02:34:03] The last time I saw Charlie in person
[02:34:05] was at the Student Action Summit in
[02:34:06] Tampa. I spoke on his show, addressed
[02:34:09] the students, and spent time with my
[02:34:11] friend. That day, I talked a little bit
[02:34:14] about the evil that we face in our
[02:34:16] world, a topic Charlie was passionate
[02:34:17] about. as he used his platform to reach
[02:34:19] millions not just to discuss politics
[02:34:21] but to share that his faith and point
[02:34:23] people toward God.
[02:34:26] Charlie Kirk will go down in history as
[02:34:29] one of the greatest political minds and
[02:34:30] activists of our lifetime.
[02:34:37] His
[02:34:44] impact places him alongside
[02:34:46] transformative figures like Dr. Martin
[02:34:48] Luther King, John F. Kennedy, and Robert
[02:34:50] F. Kennedy. Lead
[02:34:58] Leaders who inspired movements,
[02:35:00] challenged the status quo, and fought
[02:35:02] for what they believed in. Charlie's
[02:35:05] legacy is not just in the ideas that he
[02:35:07] championed, but the countless of lives
[02:35:09] that he's touched, the voices he
[02:35:11] amplified, and the movement that he
[02:35:12] built. Though Charlie's no longer with
[02:35:15] us physically, his spirit lives on. And
[02:35:17] in my heart, according to the
[02:35:18] scriptures, I know that I will see my
[02:35:20] friend again one day. Since his passing,
[02:35:23] Turning Point USA has received the
[02:35:24] request to start over 32,000 new college
[02:35:28] campus chapters.
[02:35:30] [Applause]
[02:35:42] Churches are overflowing and young
[02:35:44] people across the country are asking how
[02:35:46] they can get involved. Charlie's legacy
[02:35:49] is keeping this movement alive and it's
[02:35:51] up to us to carry it forward. So, I want
[02:35:54] to leave you with the very same advice
[02:35:55] that Charlie gave me once upon a time.
[02:35:58] Share your story. Get involved. Join the
[02:36:01] movement. Help others. Run for office.
[02:36:04] But above all, keep the debate alive and
[02:36:07] pray. Truth will always prevail.
[02:36:10] To Erica and Charlie's family, you have
[02:36:13] my word alongside with every single
[02:36:15] person that was on the stage and
[02:36:17] millions of other of Americans,
[02:36:19] including some of the most powerful
[02:36:20] voices in Washington DC, that we will
[02:36:23] continue Charlie's mission. His vision,
[02:36:26] his courage, and his love of country
[02:36:28] will live on through all of us. Thank
[02:36:30] you, and God bless.
[02:36:45] from the great state of Arizona. Please
[02:36:48] welcome to the stage Congressman Andy
[02:36:50] Biggs.
[02:36:57] [Applause]
[02:37:03] We are so fortunate to live in the
[02:37:05] greatest nation in the history of the
[02:37:07] world.
[02:37:13] And we are especially blessed to have
[02:37:17] lived through the two greatest political
[02:37:19] movements
[02:37:21] of the 20th and 21st century. First of
[02:37:24] all, President Trump's MAGA movement
[02:37:32] [Applause]
[02:37:35] joined at the hip with Charlie Kirk's
[02:37:38] turning point movement.
[02:37:44] [Applause]
[02:37:47] They changed the trajectory of a nation
[02:37:52] and in so doing they changed the
[02:37:54] direction of the world.
[02:37:56] We thank them and I thank Charlie Kirk
[02:38:01] for his courage, his tenacity, his
[02:38:04] wisdom, his preparation.
[02:38:08] The first time I met Charlie,
[02:38:11] everybody's got one of those stories.
[02:38:15] My I have family members that have
[02:38:17] worked for him. I have I have nephews
[02:38:20] that have worked with him for eight
[02:38:21] years
[02:38:23] and I had not met the guy and but boy
[02:38:27] they sure told me how great he was.
[02:38:32] I met him and I said behold the man
[02:38:42] [Applause]
[02:38:46] You remember Soulja Niten
[02:38:49] who basically chronicled life in the
[02:38:53] goolog of the communist Soviet Union.
[02:38:58] He interviewed people and in that in
[02:39:01] that doc chronicle he quotes people time
[02:39:05] and time again saying the reason we fell
[02:39:08] to the communists
[02:39:10] is because we as a people forgot God.
[02:39:16] [Applause]
[02:39:24] This past week
[02:39:27] we remi we are reminded
[02:39:30] how real evil is.
[02:39:33] Evil is real
[02:39:37] and it occurs in a vacuum when we forget
[02:39:40] God.
[02:39:42] But we also
[02:39:45] have something very real happening to us
[02:39:47] as well.
[02:39:49] We know that healing
[02:39:52] healing in the name of Jesus Christ is
[02:39:55] also real.
[02:40:05] And so we've we've wept, we've mourned,
[02:40:07] we've grieved. And that will be for a
[02:40:11] short season
[02:40:13] because it is incumbent upon us to take
[02:40:16] the healing
[02:40:18] the healing balm of Gilead
[02:40:22] and march forward on the mission to
[02:40:25] complete the mission that we are on
[02:40:28] today which is to save this nation and
[02:40:31] in turn save the world. That's
[02:40:35] [Music]
[02:40:37] [Applause]
[02:40:42] That is the mission
[02:40:44] that Charlie Kirk
[02:40:47] undertook
[02:40:48] with confidence.
[02:40:50] We learn and are reminded if we didn't
[02:40:54] know before
[02:40:56] this week that we are eternal beings.
[02:41:02] is every person that comes here at some
[02:41:06] point the winds of immortality sweep us
[02:41:09] away in the sands of time.
[02:41:12] But each of us has left a mark,
[02:41:18] a trace,
[02:41:20] a track.
[02:41:24] None of us are eancent. We are all
[02:41:27] eternal.
[02:41:30] And Charlie has left for us a track.
[02:41:34] We love him. We embrace him.
[02:41:38] And we walk and join hand in hand
[02:41:40] walking that track to broaden it.
[02:41:48] You see the movement
[02:41:51] as Anna was talking about and others
[02:41:53] have talked about has expanded
[02:41:56] enormously already
[02:41:59] because it calls to the spirit.
[02:42:03] It speaks to the heart and to the brain.
[02:42:07] I loved I was Did you watch the Oxford
[02:42:09] debates?
[02:42:12] Those are the best debates in the world.
[02:42:14] Smuggness,
[02:42:17] arrogance,
[02:42:22] defeated.
[02:42:23] [Applause]
[02:42:33] So, so as as uh we go and we're getting
[02:42:37] ready to to leave this venue,
[02:42:40] let us let us not leave anything behind
[02:42:45] other than our love for each other, our
[02:42:49] respect and love for Charlie,
[02:42:51] our love and concern for Erica and their
[02:42:54] beautiful family,
[02:42:56] our love for this nation,
[02:43:00] our love for our fellow And
[02:43:09] we'll walk out with our preparation,
[02:43:12] a commitment to be like Charlie was. I
[02:43:15] mean, Charlie was always smart.
[02:43:18] He was the smartest dude.
[02:43:24] We will be eloquent and patient
[02:43:28] but firm and convicted in our
[02:43:30] principles.
[02:43:31] [Applause]
[02:43:42] And I feel
[02:43:44] to tell you this before I do this. Um
[02:43:47] Winston Churchill was an emotional man.
[02:43:51] I'm trying not to be like Winston
[02:43:53] Churchill tonight,
[02:43:59] but I feel impressed
[02:44:02] to share with you and join and Charlie
[02:44:04] in my testimony
[02:44:09] that Jesus Christ
[02:44:13] is the son of a living God.
[02:44:17] [Applause]
[02:44:26] He is my savior and your savior. He is
[02:44:29] my redeemer. He is your redeemer.
[02:44:36] And as and as the savior taught,
[02:44:40] no man cometh to the father but by and
[02:44:43] through Jesus Christ.
[02:44:46] We are eternal beings.
[02:44:49] Charlie's eternal.
[02:44:51] He rests
[02:44:57] in the in the bosom
[02:45:00] of our Lord and Savior.
[02:45:02] [Applause]
[02:45:12] And I would I would suggest
[02:45:16] that each one of us
[02:45:19] now has an additional mission
[02:45:22] and the mission is to preserve the
[02:45:25] freedom of this country.
[02:45:28] The first amendment as as Secretary
[02:45:31] Kennedy talked about what it's not just
[02:45:33] about free speech either is it? It is
[02:45:36] about free speech so we can worship.
[02:45:40] And that's what we want to do.
[02:45:43] And so we walk out of here heads held
[02:45:46] high, recommitted to our mission,
[02:45:50] preservation of freedom
[02:45:53] and understanding our relationship to
[02:45:56] God
[02:45:57] and Jesus Christ our our our savior.
[02:46:03] So
[02:46:08] [Applause]
[02:46:13] join me in wishing and praying that God
[02:46:16] will bless Erica.
[02:46:18] God will bless each of you. God will
[02:46:21] bless our great President Donald J.
[02:46:24] Trump.
[02:46:25] [Applause]
[02:46:30] God that God will bless this country,
[02:46:33] that it will endure
[02:46:35] until that happy day,
[02:46:39] and that God will bless Charlie.
[02:46:43] May Charlie rest in peace. And may us,
[02:46:46] each one of us, now go forward in the
[02:46:49] season of work
[02:46:52] and be happy warriors,
[02:46:55] always willing to do what we need to do
[02:46:58] to further the cause of freedom and
[02:47:01] justice. God bless all of you. Thank
[02:47:03] you.
[02:47:18] to offer closing reflections. Once
[02:47:20] again, please welcome Arizona State
[02:47:22] Senator Jake Hoffman.
[02:47:28] >> Let's hear it one more time for the
[02:47:30] entire team here at the Kennedy Center.
[02:47:34] Let's hear it for Ambassador Rick
[02:47:36] Cornell.
[02:47:38] None of this would have been possible
[02:47:40] without that entire team's dedicated
[02:47:44] commitment to honoring the life and
[02:47:46] legacy of Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk
[02:47:50] taught us that one man plus God equals a
[02:47:55] majority.
[02:47:57] It is our job to now carry on the torch
[02:48:01] that Charlie Kirk lit. That is faith in
[02:48:05] Jesus plus courage of conviction plus
[02:48:09] unabashed
[02:48:10] truth is how we will usher in the next
[02:48:14] 250 years of freedom like our founding
[02:48:17] fathers ushered in the first 250 years
[02:48:20] of freedom.
[02:48:26] Now, I have to give one shout out to all
[02:48:30] of those young 20somes and 30somes
[02:48:33] working at Turning Point right now with
[02:48:36] Erica Kirk at the helm with leaders like
[02:48:39] Tyler Ber and Justin Strife and Marina
[02:48:42] Mis and Amy Smith and all of the
[02:48:45] dedicated young people who are out there
[02:48:48] preparing to go to battle for truth to
[02:48:52] stand up and double down and triple down
[02:48:55] in the face of their founder being slain
[02:48:58] by an assassin's bullet. We are all
[02:49:01] Charlie Kirk now and let's join them in
[02:49:04] this fight. Let's carry the cause of
[02:49:06] freedom and let's honor Charlie Kirk
[02:49:10] once and for all.
[02:49:12] [Applause]
[02:49:14] Charlie, we love you. We miss you. But
[02:49:18] we will fight to continue your legacy.
[02:49:22] God bless you all for coming. Let's have
[02:49:24] some worship.
[02:49:26] [Applause]
[02:49:32] All my life you have been faithful.
[02:49:37] [Music]
[02:49:40] All my life you have been so so good.
[02:49:48] With every breath that I am,
[02:49:51] [Music]
[02:49:54] I will sing
[02:49:56] of the goodness
[02:49:58] of God.
[02:50:00] All my life,
[02:50:03] all my life, you have been faithful.
[02:50:11] All my life you have been so so good.
[02:50:19] with every breath that I make.
[02:50:24] And I will sing
[02:50:27] of the goodness
[02:50:29] of God.
[02:50:31] Your goodness.
[02:50:34] Your goodness is running after. It's
[02:50:38] running after me.
[02:50:40] [Music]
[02:50:42] Your goodness is running after. is
[02:50:46] running after me with my life laid down.
[02:50:51] I surrender now. I give you everything.
[02:50:58] Your goodness is running after. It's
[02:51:01] running after me. Come see your
[02:51:04] goodness. And your goodness is running
[02:51:08] after. It's running after me.
[02:51:14] Your goodness is running after. It's
[02:51:17] running after me.
[02:51:20] With my life laid down, I surrender now.
[02:51:24] I give you everything.
[02:51:30] Your goodness is running after. It's
[02:51:33] running after me.
[02:51:37] Now, could you go ahead and get out your
[02:51:38] phone with your light on it if you don't
[02:51:40] have a candle?
[02:51:42] We only had 500 candles and a lot more
[02:51:45] people. So, come on everybody, get your
[02:51:47] phone with your light. Come on,
[02:51:48] everybody. All over on the top, on the
[02:51:51] bottom, every every light on.
[02:51:53] [Music]
[02:51:55] All across America, churches were full.
[02:52:01] People showing up to worship Jesus.
[02:52:04] Spurred on by Charlie. Let's sing this
[02:52:06] out together. And I have decided
[02:52:12] to follow Jesus.
[02:52:16] I have decided
[02:52:20] to follow Jesus.
[02:52:25] I have decided
[02:52:29] to follow Jesus.
[02:52:33] No turning back. back.
[02:52:37] No turning back. Though none go with me,
[02:52:41] though none go with me,
[02:52:45] still I will fall.
[02:52:49] Though none go with me,
[02:52:53] still I will fall.
[02:52:57] Though none go with me,
[02:53:01] still I will follow.
[02:53:05] No turning back.
[02:53:08] [Music]
[02:53:10] Come on, one more time. I have decided.
[02:53:12] Come on, sing it out. And I have decided
[02:53:17] to follow me.
[02:53:22] I have decided
[02:53:26] to follow Jesus.
[02:53:30] I have decided
[02:53:34] to follow Jesus.
[02:53:39] No turning back.
[02:53:43] No turning back.
[02:53:46] And no turning back.
[02:53:51] No turning
[02:53:54] back.
[02:53:57] Woo.
[02:53:59] [Applause]
[02:54:07] I just want to thank you all again for
[02:54:09] coming. All of us here. Um, everybody
[02:54:13] who had a part in this. We're so
[02:54:15] grateful to you taking the time to be
[02:54:19] here. You loved Charlie. You knew
[02:54:21] Charlie.
[02:54:23] And I just want to close in a prayer.
[02:54:26] Um, thanking the life of Charlie,
[02:54:29] thanking you all. Again, a special shout
[02:54:32] out and thanks to the wonderful staff
[02:54:34] here at the Kendi Center, Ambassador
[02:54:36] Grenell for allowing us to do this in
[02:54:39] such a short amount of time. We could
[02:54:41] not have done it without so many amazing
[02:54:42] people. Um, and we're very, very
[02:54:45] thankful. This event was definitely
[02:54:48] God's event, and that's what Charlie
[02:54:50] would have wanted.
[02:54:51] So bow your heads, put up your hands,
[02:54:54] close your eyes, whatever you do, and
[02:54:56] we'll conclude this evening.
[02:54:59] Lord,
[02:55:01] [Music]
[02:55:02] we're thankful for the life of Charlie.
[02:55:05] As we close this memorial service, a
[02:55:09] service of praise and testimony to his
[02:55:11] life, we honor the life and legacy of
[02:55:15] our brother. Charlie often said that
[02:55:17] what he wanted to be remembered for was
[02:55:19] his courage and his faith. And Lord,
[02:55:22] you've answered those requests.
[02:55:24] And all those that knew him, they knew
[02:55:26] exactly that's how he lived. He faced
[02:55:29] life with boldness. He anchored his hope
[02:55:31] in Jesus Christ. His courage wasn't just
[02:55:34] about speaking truth or standing for
[02:55:35] what's right, but flowed from a deeper
[02:55:37] faith and knowledge in you. So Lord, we
[02:55:39] ask that as we conclude now,
[02:55:42] you would bless those that are here. If
[02:55:44] there are some that have never found
[02:55:46] this Jesus and this friend, have not
[02:55:50] known the relationship that Charlie knew
[02:55:51] with his savior, would you allow them to
[02:55:53] find that Jesus tonight, to accept into
[02:55:56] their heart a savior, a savior who died
[02:55:59] for them, who came to this earth as a
[02:56:01] man, lived perfectly,
[02:56:04] died, rose, was buried, rose again, and
[02:56:08] on the third day, Lord, he ascended.
[02:56:11] Lord, we're thankful that Charlie is now
[02:56:14] with his savior. We're thankful that um
[02:56:18] his his time is not done. His testimony
[02:56:22] and his impact will go on, Lord. So, if
[02:56:24] there are those here that have even
[02:56:25] strained from you, would you bring them
[02:56:27] back to you? Charlie would want that. He
[02:56:30] would want the glory to be back to his
[02:56:32] savior.
[02:56:33] As we go out now, Lord, will we never
[02:56:35] forget his impact. May we never forget
[02:56:38] the life that he lived. And may we take
[02:56:40] the courage. May we fight the fight like
[02:56:43] Charlie did. May we pick up the cross.
[02:56:47] And may we lead the charge.
[02:56:51] Lord, we ask these things of you. Bless
[02:56:54] us now. Give us safety as we go home.
[02:56:56] Thank you for allowing us to meet
[02:56:58] together. Thank you for your son. And
[02:57:02] it's in his name we pray. Amen. Thank
[02:57:05] you all.
[02:57:13] On behalf of tonight's organizers,
[02:57:16] speakers, and all who gathered here or
[02:57:18] viewed from afar, thank you for joining
[02:57:21] us in honoring the life of Charlie Kirk.
[02:57:24] May his legacy of faith, courage, and
[02:57:26] conviction continue to inspire us all.
[02:57:30] This concludes our services this
[02:57:32] evening.
