📄 Extracted Text (1,629 words)
[00:00:00] All right, joining us now, chairman of
[00:00:02] the budget committee, Senator Lindsey
[00:00:03] Graham. I would imagine after that
[00:00:05] interview, there's not a lot you agree
[00:00:06] and I do think there are things like
[00:00:07] body cam and some other things that you
[00:00:08] do.
[00:00:09] >> I wore a tie by the way.
[00:00:10] >> You did, but he was maybe shoveling
[00:00:13] snow. And so we're giving a lot of grace
[00:00:14] around here in DC because it's so bad
[00:00:16] outside. Now, there's also this issue
[00:00:18] about judicial warrants and Democrats
[00:00:20] really want to push for that. That is
[00:00:22] beyond what ICE has used these
[00:00:23] administrative warrants for a long time.
[00:00:25] But let me read you something from a
[00:00:26] judge yesterday. This federal judge uh
[00:00:29] said that the little boy Liam that was
[00:00:30] in the center of all these pictures in
[00:00:32] Minneapolis, he and his dad have to be
[00:00:33] released. He said this administrative
[00:00:35] warrants issued by the executive branch
[00:00:37] to itself do not pass probable cause
[00:00:39] muster. That's called the fox guarding
[00:00:41] the hen house. The constitution requires
[00:00:42] an independent judicial officer. These
[00:00:44] administrative warrants have been used
[00:00:46] for years u by ICE. How does it change
[00:00:48] the game if now a federal judge is going
[00:00:50] to say every operation ICE does, you got
[00:00:53] to have a judicial warrant. And
[00:00:54] Democrats say they're going to push for
[00:00:55] it. Well, what we're going to do is
[00:00:56] Well, I'm not going to agree. That would
[00:00:58] grind it to a halt. If you had a
[00:01:00] judicial warrant and all these things,
[00:01:02] you couldn't you couldn't deal with
[00:01:04] mass. We're not we're not dealing with a
[00:01:06] um we're trying to get people out of the
[00:01:08] country of no right to be here, judge.
[00:01:10] There's no right to come to America. If
[00:01:12] you're here illegally, we have expedited
[00:01:15] procedures to get you out. The federal
[00:01:17] government is in charge of immigration
[00:01:19] policy. 12 states tell the federal
[00:01:23] government go to hell. We will not help
[00:01:24] you.
[00:01:24] >> Sanctuary states.
[00:01:25] >> Yeah. Secretary, including Kentucky.
[00:01:27] What's What's this all about? You've had
[00:01:30] like 15 million people come in four
[00:01:32] years under Biden. Only God knows where
[00:01:34] they're at. 54% of them are in sanctuary
[00:01:38] city or states. What What does it mean?
[00:01:40] In Minneapolis, they have people who are
[00:01:42] legal immigrants subject to being
[00:01:45] detained under federal law, and they
[00:01:47] won't give them over to DHS. These laws
[00:01:49] have been on the books for 30 years and
[00:01:52] states 12 are saying we're not going to
[00:01:54] turn these people over as required by
[00:01:57] federal law. We're not going to work
[00:01:58] with you. That's called sanctuary city.
[00:02:01] >> But are they required to turn people
[00:02:03] over? I mean, they have an option to
[00:02:05] cooperate or not.
[00:02:07] >> Detainers, no. They have to do. It's a
[00:02:09] law. That's what this
[00:02:10] >> But a lot of states and counties will
[00:02:12] say, "We don't have an obligation." And
[00:02:13] so, we're not going to tell you if we
[00:02:14] release someone that's
[00:02:15] >> Well, they're wrong. I got a bill.
[00:02:17] Here's what my bill says.
[00:02:19] If you're a sanctuary city or state,
[00:02:21] you're a governor or you're a mayor, and
[00:02:24] you don't comply with detainer laws and
[00:02:27] other laws that require you to turn over
[00:02:29] to custody to the federal government
[00:02:32] somebody in violation of immigration
[00:02:34] law. Immigration law is national law.
[00:02:37] So, if a state runs into an illegal
[00:02:39] immigrant, they have an obligation under
[00:02:42] federal law to get that person in
[00:02:44] federal custody for deportation. If you
[00:02:47] don't do it that way, illegal
[00:02:50] immigration will never end. They'll find
[00:02:52] the 12 states. They'll keep coming. The
[00:02:54] governors and the mayors are openly
[00:02:56] defying the law. They're creating the
[00:02:58] chaos. These are fraudridden areas.
[00:03:01] There's a law and order breakdown. What
[00:03:04] am I going to do? I'm passing a bill
[00:03:06] that says if you're a governor or you're
[00:03:08] a state official and you have in your
[00:03:11] custody someone who's broken federal
[00:03:13] immigration law and you do not turn that
[00:03:16] person over under existing law that uh
[00:03:19] of the United States, you could go to
[00:03:21] jail. You're committing a crime. You
[00:03:24] remember Kim Davis?
[00:03:25] >> I do.
[00:03:25] >> Okay. Who's Kim Davis, folks? Nothing to
[00:03:27] do with illegal immigration. Kim Davis
[00:03:30] was a clerk of court in Kentucky. The
[00:03:34] Supreme Court ruled that the law of the
[00:03:36] land was that gay marriage was legal,
[00:03:39] that you gay marriage was recognized
[00:03:42] under the US Constitution. If you didn't
[00:03:44] recognize gay marriage, you violated the
[00:03:47] equal protection clause. She's a
[00:03:49] religious conservative. People applied,
[00:03:51] two gay guys applied for a marriage
[00:03:54] license. She said she wouldn't issue it
[00:03:57] even though it was the law of the land.
[00:03:59] She went to jail. I was asked, "What
[00:04:02] about it?" Well, I agree with her
[00:04:04] political phil philosophical, not her
[00:04:08] religious views, but she's a public
[00:04:10] official.
[00:04:12] She has to do this. You can't change the
[00:04:15] law because you disagree with it. She
[00:04:18] went to jail. She should have for 5
[00:04:20] days. To these mayors and governors,
[00:04:22] when you defy federal law that's clearly
[00:04:25] on the books, you can't set it aside
[00:04:28] because of your political beliefs or you
[00:04:30] disagree with it. That is chaos. So I
[00:04:32] was willing to say Kim Davis, even
[00:04:35] though I agreed with her underlying
[00:04:37] position, had to follow the
[00:04:39] Constitution, had to follow the Supreme
[00:04:41] Court to the governors, to the mayors.
[00:04:44] You will follow federal law. It's been
[00:04:46] on the books for 30 years. Are you going
[00:04:48] to go to jail? That is what my bill
[00:04:50] does.
[00:04:51] >> Do you have votes for that though in the
[00:04:52] bill? Are you going to have to
[00:04:53] >> We won't know till we vote. 80%
[00:04:55] >> You want everybody to have to take that
[00:04:56] vote? 80% of the people in this country
[00:04:59] hate sanctuary cities. Why? It's dumb.
[00:05:02] You got 50 states. If you got 12, if you
[00:05:06] can get to one of the 12, you never get
[00:05:08] deported. There's no end to illegal.
[00:05:10] It's a magnet for illegal immigration.
[00:05:12] >> I want to make sure I get into some
[00:05:14] foreign policy while we have you here
[00:05:15] too today because
[00:05:16] >> Sorry, got a cold.
[00:05:17] >> Will you take a little break there? Um
[00:05:18] Iran, uh the president said we're moving
[00:05:21] in a lot of assets. We know that
[00:05:22] warships, uh airplanes, we we know all
[00:05:25] of that is moved in. He says they are
[00:05:27] negotiating. They're having
[00:05:28] conversation. The Ayatollah says if you
[00:05:30] strike here, it's going to spark a
[00:05:31] regional war. What do you think?
[00:05:33] >> I think it's a defining moment in his
[00:05:35] presidency. Ronald Reagan went to the
[00:05:37] Berlin wall and he said, "Tear down this
[00:05:39] wall." He didn't say, "Could you make it
[00:05:41] lower?" Uh when asked about what the
[00:05:44] protesters should do, President Trump
[00:05:46] said, "Keep protesting. Help is on the
[00:05:48] way." If this regime is still standing,
[00:05:51] the day after, if we pull the plug, will
[00:05:54] be a hundred years of chaos. I have
[00:05:56] every confidence that President Trump
[00:05:58] will do what he promised to the people.
[00:06:00] Help is on the way. Keep protesting. If
[00:06:02] this regime falls, Hamas, Hezbollah, the
[00:06:05] Hoodies, they all go. It'd be the
[00:06:08] biggest change uh since the fall of the
[00:06:10] Berlin wall. But here's one thing I
[00:06:12] know. Donald Trump is Ronald Reagan plus
[00:06:15] in my mind. Venezuela, soon Cuba. The
[00:06:17] one thing you can't do as president.
[00:06:20] Talk like Reagan and act like Obama.
[00:06:23] There's no deal to be done here. These
[00:06:25] people are not trustworthy. The
[00:06:27] protesters in the street are not
[00:06:29] protesting for a better nuclear deal.
[00:06:31] They're protesting for a better life.
[00:06:33] And if they win the day, we have a
[00:06:35] chance to have friends with the people
[00:06:37] of Iran. The Ayatollah will never be our
[00:06:40] friend. He's a religious Nazi. President
[00:06:42] Trump, you said help is on the way. That
[00:06:45] has to be real. It has to be real soon.
[00:06:47] Do it, Mr. President. The people of Iran
[00:06:50] are begging you to be on the on u their
[00:06:53] side. You have done it so good. You are
[00:06:56] Reagan plus. This is the defining moment
[00:06:59] in your presidency. Stand by the people.
[00:07:01] The itel I falls. The region changes
[00:07:05] bigger than the fall of the Berlin wall.
[00:07:08] No more international terrorists. This
[00:07:10] regime has American blood on its end
[00:07:12] since 1979.
[00:07:14] You got the hoodies. Uh you got Hezblah
[00:07:18] killing Americans. bring this regime
[00:07:20] down because the people want it down.
[00:07:23] You don't have to invade the country,
[00:07:25] but help on the way means military
[00:07:27] strikes against the infrastructure that
[00:07:30] is killing the Iranian people. Go after
[00:07:33] the ones who are killing the people. Put
[00:07:35] this regime on notice. We're never going
[00:07:37] to let up. Strangle their economy. It
[00:07:40] will fall. The people will take over.
[00:07:42] And over time, we will have a friend in
[00:07:44] Iran, not an enemy. Hezblah, Hamas, the
[00:07:47] Houthis, all fall. Okay.
[00:07:49] >> The biggest thing you could possibly
[00:07:51] ever do to the Middle East is take this
[00:07:54] regime down. And they're as weakest
[00:07:56] they've ever been since 1979. Mr.
[00:07:59] President, you can do it. I hope you
[00:08:01] will do it. And if you do, if you do it,
[00:08:04] this is Reagan. Bless.
[00:08:05] >> Okay, we got to go. But it sparks all
[00:08:07] kinds of questions about what comes
[00:08:08] behind that Ayatollah. I wish we had
[00:08:10] >> Yeah. Can I tell you? Friends, not
[00:08:12] enemy. That's the dumbest question. One
[00:08:14] second.
[00:08:14] >> We got to go. What happens if Hitler had
[00:08:16] fall? It'd been better. If these people
[00:08:18] win, they'll be more likely our friends.
[00:08:21] The I told will never be our friend. I
[00:08:23] tell you what'll happen if we pull the
[00:08:25] plug. If we all talk and we don't do it,
[00:08:27] we'll have a hundred years of chaos.
[00:08:29] America's standings will be zero.
[00:08:31] >> I have no doubt about where you stand on
[00:08:33] this and neither does the president. Uh
[00:08:34] Senator Graham,
[00:08:35] >> no sanctuary cities.
[00:08:36] >> Thank you very much. will seize them.
