[00:00:00] Thank you so much. Thank you, Tony.
[00:00:01] Thank you for having me. Thanks to all
[00:00:03] of you. It's such a privilege to be with
[00:00:04] you. I've been looking forward to this.
[00:00:06] I remember our time together last year.
[00:00:08] Now, I I can't go very far without
[00:00:10] saying hello and thank you to a very
[00:00:12] dear personal friend of mine who's here,
[00:00:15] Rich and Fabot. It's so good to see you
[00:00:17] from the great state of Missouri. Uh I
[00:00:19] still remember Rich when I was first
[00:00:20] thinking about running for attorney
[00:00:22] general. You know, I was just uh I was a
[00:00:24] lot younger man back then. Uh my my
[00:00:27] babies were were really little. my three
[00:00:29] my five-year-old had not yet been born
[00:00:31] and I still remember spending the
[00:00:33] weekend with you two and your father
[00:00:36] Rich and uh they just gave me all the
[00:00:38] encouragement in the world and Rich said
[00:00:39] you need to do this you need to you need
[00:00:41] to run for attorney general we need
[00:00:43] believers who are willing to take a
[00:00:45] stand and really your friendship your
[00:00:48] encouragement your witness has been such
[00:00:51] an encouragement to me so thank you so
[00:00:52] much it's such a privilege to be here
[00:00:54] thank you thank you and it's such an
[00:00:56] encouragement to see all of you here
[00:00:58] thank you for standing for our faith in
[00:01:00] this time of consequence. Thank you for
[00:01:03] standing for the least and the last and
[00:01:05] the forgotten. And there is no one who
[00:01:07] is more significant in that category
[00:01:09] than the innocent unborn. Would you
[00:01:10] agree with me on that? [applause]
[00:01:13] You know, I want to talk to you today
[00:01:14] about I think one of the greatest
[00:01:16] challenges that faces us now and
[00:01:17] Christians in our time and that is the
[00:01:19] struggle to protect the unborn in this
[00:01:21] country. I believe we've come to an
[00:01:23] inflection point in our efforts in
[00:01:26] America as Christians to protect the
[00:01:28] innocent unborn. And I believe we have a
[00:01:30] window of time now. The election of
[00:01:33] Donald Trump, the re-election of
[00:01:34] President Trump, I think opens for us a
[00:01:36] window of opportunity to change the law
[00:01:39] in this country to change hearts and
[00:01:41] minds in this country to put back into
[00:01:43] place protections for the most innocent
[00:01:45] and vulnerable among us. You know, Tony
[00:01:48] mentioned, I've had the tremendous
[00:01:49] privilege now twice to go to the Supreme
[00:01:52] Court of the United States where I once
[00:01:54] worked. I was a clerk there once upon a
[00:01:56] time and I litigated there as attorney
[00:01:58] general. But I'll tell you the most
[00:02:00] enjoyment I've ever had, the greatest
[00:02:02] pleasure and pride I've ever felt in the
[00:02:04] Supreme Court of the United States was
[00:02:06] not uh being there working there. It was
[00:02:08] not as attorney general. It was watching
[00:02:10] my wife stand before those justices, my
[00:02:13] wife, a mother of three, and argue for
[00:02:16] the right to life for the most innocent
[00:02:18] and vulnerable among us.
[00:02:21] [applause] You can sure butt for now.
[00:02:24] And I had the privilege to do that again
[00:02:25] just this last week. I remember the
[00:02:27] first time I went about a year ago, the
[00:02:29] first time Aaron, my wife's name, the
[00:02:30] first time Aaron argued at the court on
[00:02:33] behalf of of the right to life, on
[00:02:35] behalf of the innocent unborn. And I
[00:02:36] thought, you know, this would be a fun
[00:02:37] time. Some of you may have heard this
[00:02:38] story. I thought, I want my boys, who
[00:02:41] are now 13 and 10, at the time they were
[00:02:43] 12 and nine, I want my boys to to have
[00:02:46] this memory of seeing their mother argue
[00:02:50] for the unborn at the highest court in
[00:02:52] the land. And so I I told him, I said,
[00:02:54] "Guys, this is going to be a great day."
[00:02:56] I said, "We're going to get to go see
[00:02:57] mommy argue at the court." They were
[00:02:59] like, "What court?" And I said, "Well,
[00:03:00] the Supreme Court." And they said,
[00:03:01] "What's that?" I said, "Well, it's, you
[00:03:03] know, I'm trying to explain the branches
[00:03:04] of government." I'm like, "What do you
[00:03:05] learn in school?" I'm like, you know,
[00:03:06] it's the third brains we ever finally
[00:03:08] said to me, they said, "Do we get out of
[00:03:09] school?" And I said, "Well, yeah." And
[00:03:11] they said, "We can't wait." So, we go,
[00:03:14] you know, I get them all. We had to get
[00:03:15] on coat, tie, you know. So, they put on
[00:03:17] their coat and tie and and we get there
[00:03:19] in the morning and we get in there and,
[00:03:21] you know, the court the rules are, for
[00:03:22] those of you who have been there and
[00:03:24] those of you who haven't, the rules are
[00:03:25] in that courtroom, which is not very big
[00:03:27] by the way. I mean, that courtroom is is
[00:03:29] not much bigger than this room and this
[00:03:30] a big room, but you think about the the
[00:03:31] US Supreme Court, it really is not much
[00:03:33] bigger than this. the disas would be
[00:03:35] right up there and that you have folks
[00:03:37] uh seated in kind of pews. It's almost
[00:03:38] like church and a lot like some
[00:03:40] churches, not my church but some
[00:03:41] churches you have to be quiet. So we go
[00:03:43] in there and I said to my kids, my two
[00:03:45] boys, I was like now listen to me. We
[00:03:47] have got to be quiet. And when I say got
[00:03:49] to be, I mean got to be. If we are not
[00:03:51] quiet, I said we will get kicked out.
[00:03:52] They actually will kick us out. I mean I
[00:03:54] read him the riot act. So I'm taking
[00:03:56] them down the the front aisle there and
[00:03:58] I got one boy on each hand as we're
[00:04:00] going down. And I used to work at that
[00:04:01] court as I said and so I remember very
[00:04:04] well that there are certain places in
[00:04:06] that court that the marshals who run the
[00:04:08] court designate they call them hot seis
[00:04:11] and they put people who might be
[00:04:13] problems who they think you know we
[00:04:15] don't know this guy is everybody's got
[00:04:16] to go through security but sometimes you
[00:04:17] think who you know this might be
[00:04:18] somebody who's nuts who might jump up
[00:04:20] and start yelling so they they maneuver
[00:04:22] them into hot seats that are right by a
[00:04:24] whole bunch of marshals. Well I know
[00:04:25] where those are. I mean I've worked
[00:04:26] there. I've been there. So I'm walking
[00:04:28] in with my kids. Lo and behold, I
[00:04:30] noticed as we're coming down, I'm like,
[00:04:31] they're maneuvering us over to a hot
[00:04:32] seat. I mean, that
[00:04:35] smartest thing the chief justice ever
[00:04:36] did, you know? I mean, so we sat down
[00:04:38] there, one boy on one side, one boy the
[00:04:41] other side. I got a marshall right
[00:04:42] there. There was a marshall right across
[00:04:44] from me. And I said to the kids, Aaron
[00:04:47] actually had the good idea. She said,
[00:04:48] "Josh, you need to get them pages pieces
[00:04:50] of paper and crayons to draw, do
[00:04:51] something." Because they had to sit for
[00:04:53] 40 minutes of silence before she even
[00:04:55] started. And then our argument went for
[00:04:56] an hour. So, we're sitting there and I
[00:04:58] look over at Bla1, who was my then
[00:05:00] nine-year-old, and I, you know, and he's
[00:05:02] kind of my live wire. And I thought, you
[00:05:03] know, he's being awfully good. I mean,
[00:05:05] he was just working away at drawing his
[00:05:07] crayons. And so, people start to come in
[00:05:10] and, you know, it's filling up behind
[00:05:11] us. And and behind us, we got all these
[00:05:14] liberals and I knew they were liberals
[00:05:15] because they're all wearing masks, you
[00:05:16] know, and I was like, geez, I mean, so
[00:05:19] this was just last year, you know,
[00:05:20] they're in the Supreme Court. They're
[00:05:21] all wearing masks right behind us. I'm
[00:05:23] like, these are libs. So I got Blaze
[00:05:26] there and he's being so quiet pretty
[00:05:27] soon. He says, "Daddy." He goes,
[00:05:28] "Daddy." And I'm like, "Sh." And he
[00:05:30] goes, "Daddy." Goes, "Look at my
[00:05:31] picture." And I said, "Okay." And he
[00:05:33] holds up his picture and you know what's
[00:05:35] he's dreaming drawing like a cityscape
[00:05:37] building. So I was like, "Well, that's
[00:05:38] nice." And then I look up and there's a
[00:05:39] sun. Well, that's nice. And an airplane.
[00:05:42] And then I look again and I notice that
[00:05:44] the airplane has a bomb coming out of it
[00:05:47] and it's falling down. He's labeled the
[00:05:48] airplane USA. And then the cityscape
[00:05:51] he's labeled China.
[00:05:53] And then he starts waving it around.
[00:05:55] He's like, "Look, look at this
[00:05:55] deadline." I like, "Put that down. All
[00:05:58] these liberals all around the marshals
[00:05:59] are like,"What's going on?" The miracle
[00:06:01] of that case was not that my wife did so
[00:06:03] well. She did brilliantly. The miracle
[00:06:05] was we made it through the whole
[00:06:06] argument and didn't get kicked out. So
[00:06:08] that was, you know, at the end of it, I
[00:06:09] was Aaron was like, "Wow, how did I do?"
[00:06:11] And I said, "I don't know. How did I
[00:06:13] do?" I mean, the boys, you know, I was
[00:06:14] exhausted.
[00:06:16] When she was done, I was like, "That's
[00:06:18] it. We're out of here. Let's go, kids."
[00:06:20] We didn't even stay to watch the other
[00:06:21] side. Anyhow, uh it was a privilege. It
[00:06:24] was a privilege to be back with her this
[00:06:25] last Tuesday to see her argue again.
[00:06:27] Here, here's my point to you. We are at
[00:06:30] a time in our country's history where it
[00:06:32] is imperative that those of us who
[00:06:34] believe in the rights of the innocent
[00:06:36] unborn, which you and I know here in
[00:06:38] this room is based on what? The gospel
[00:06:40] of Jesus Christ. Why do the unborn have
[00:06:43] rights? Because every person is created
[00:06:45] in the image of the Lord Jesus who
[00:06:48] created heaven and earth and in whom all
[00:06:50] things hold together live and move and
[00:06:52] have their being as the apostle Paul
[00:06:53] said. That is why the innocent unborn
[00:06:55] have the right to life. Why every person
[00:06:57] has the right to life and has dignity.
[00:06:59] This is a time to stand for that. And I
[00:07:01] want to draw your attention to one issue
[00:07:03] in particular and that is the threat we
[00:07:05] are facing now from the chemical
[00:07:07] abortion drug methresone as is sometimes
[00:07:11] known. That case I was just telling you
[00:07:13] about my wife was arguing is actually
[00:07:14] about methopressone and whether or not
[00:07:16] restrictions can be put on it. States
[00:07:18] can ban it. And I just want to suggest
[00:07:20] to you it is absolutely imperative that
[00:07:23] we as believers raise our voices now and
[00:07:25] say that this fight against the chemical
[00:07:27] abortion drug is the fight of our time.
[00:07:29] Here's why I say that. 70% of abortions
[00:07:31] now in the United States occur through
[00:07:34] the means of the chemical abortion drug.
[00:07:37] 70%. Do you know we have more abortions
[00:07:39] now than we did when row was the law of
[00:07:41] the land?
[00:07:43] Let that sit in. We have more now than
[00:07:46] when Row versus Wade was still the law
[00:07:48] of the land. Row was a a tremendous
[00:07:50] victory to get that overturned. The
[00:07:51] Dob's case, what a tremendous victory.
[00:07:54] But our fight is far from over. And
[00:07:56] what's happening now is you can go
[00:07:59] online in any state in the country. It
[00:08:01] doesn't matter. My state of Missouri, we
[00:08:02] had abortion restrictions until very
[00:08:04] recently. Hopefully, we'll have more at
[00:08:05] the end of next year. Maybe you're from
[00:08:07] a state that protects the right to life.
[00:08:10] It doesn't matter. You can go online,
[00:08:11] click a button, and pro-abortion
[00:08:14] advocates will mail into your state the
[00:08:17] chemical abortion drug. No restrictions,
[00:08:19] no guard rails, no conditions, no
[00:08:22] nothing. We have more abortions now than
[00:08:26] when Rorowe was the law of the land.
[00:08:28] That's why I've called on the FDA to
[00:08:30] reimpose safety guard rails and
[00:08:33] regulations on the drug methresone. We
[00:08:36] need the FDA to act. In President
[00:08:38] Trump's first term in order to get the
[00:08:40] drug methresone, you had to go see a
[00:08:43] doctor. You had to have an in-person
[00:08:44] physician visit. You had to have a
[00:08:46] follow-up visit. The doctor had to make
[00:08:48] sure that the pregnancy that the woman
[00:08:50] wanted to terminate wasn't the baby,
[00:08:52] wasn't ectopic because if you takeone
[00:08:54] and the pregnancyy's ectopic, it'll kill
[00:08:55] you. Since then, we have found there's
[00:08:58] been major studies done that show that
[00:08:59] 11% of women who take the chemical
[00:09:02] abortion drug, 11%. Now, that's more
[00:09:04] than one of 10, suffer a major adverse
[00:09:08] health event. That's the scientific
[00:09:09] phrase. What am I talking about? Sepsis,
[00:09:12] hemorrhaging, life-threatening
[00:09:14] conditions. 11% of women who are taking
[00:09:17] these drugs, they don't know that.
[00:09:18] They're not warned about it. It doesn't
[00:09:20] say that on the label. A physician
[00:09:22] doesn't have to prescribe it. So, here's
[00:09:25] what I believe needs to happen. Every
[00:09:27] state in the country where we can
[00:09:28] convince people to do it needs to
[00:09:29] restrict methopressone or just ban it
[00:09:32] alto together. That would be the best
[00:09:34] thing. And right now, the FDA here in
[00:09:36] this country, the Food and Drug
[00:09:38] Administration, which has regulatory
[00:09:39] control over this drug, needs to put
[00:09:41] back into place the safety regulations
[00:09:44] that Donald Trump had from his first
[00:09:46] term. Joe Biden got rid of them all.
[00:09:48] Surprise, surprise. He came into office
[00:09:50] on the verge on the eve of the DOS case.
[00:09:53] When Biden's administration knew the
[00:09:54] Dobs case had been granted, they thought
[00:09:56] the Supreme Court might well overturn
[00:09:58] row. They got rid of all of the
[00:10:00] restrictions on merestoneone so it could
[00:10:02] be mailed anywhere, no restrictions.
[00:10:04] Why' they do that? For obvious reasons.
[00:10:06] They wanted to federalize abortion on
[00:10:08] demand. They wanted to render null and
[00:10:10] void any state law. Doesn't matter what
[00:10:12] your state says, the abortion drugs are
[00:10:14] coming right in. We need to reverse
[00:10:15] that. So just yesterday, I called again
[00:10:18] on the FDA commissioner to put back in
[00:10:21] place these safety regulations and stop
[00:10:24] the flow of these drugs into all of our
[00:10:26] states.
[00:10:28] >> [applause]
[00:10:29] >> It's the bare minimum that we could do.
[00:10:32] And we need to pass legislation here.
[00:10:34] Congress needs to act now. We need to
[00:10:36] pass legislation that will further
[00:10:38] protect the unborn in all 50 states in
[00:10:41] every territory all across this nation.
[00:10:43] Here's my point to you. This is a vital
[00:10:46] moment in the right for life. The fight
[00:10:48] for the right for life. I know
[00:10:49] sometimes, you know, we you can get
[00:10:52] fatigue. It can seem like, man, we've
[00:10:53] been fighting for this for so long. But
[00:10:55] you know, DOBS was a tremendous victory
[00:10:57] that I believe the Lord gave us
[00:10:58] providentially. Nobody thought the
[00:11:00] Supreme Court would overturn row.
[00:11:02] Nobody. I'll tell you a story. I
[00:11:03] remember when I sat down with Justice
[00:11:05] Barrett, Amy Con Barrett, when she was
[00:11:07] nominated by the president and I got to
[00:11:09] sit with her before I voted on her and
[00:11:11] she said to me, you know, and she was
[00:11:13] careful in how she said it, but I
[00:11:15] believe her words were something unto
[00:11:17] the effect of, "I just think it's highly
[00:11:19] unlikely that the Supreme Court will
[00:11:20] ever choose to readress the full scope
[00:11:23] of Row in my lifetime." In other words,
[00:11:25] translation, I don't think the court
[00:11:27] will ever overturn Row. She said that as
[00:11:29] somebody who's about to become a
[00:11:30] justice, and yet they did. The Lord did
[00:11:32] that. The Lord has opened up because the
[00:11:35] Lord loves the innocent on board. The
[00:11:37] Lord has opened up a window of time for
[00:11:39] us. And now I just want to say to you,
[00:11:41] your courage and your efforts for 40
[00:11:44] years leading up to DOPS got us to this
[00:11:46] moment. And now it's time that we stand
[00:11:47] strong. There's so much more work to do
[00:11:50] to protect the right to life, to protect
[00:11:52] religious liberty in this country. We've
[00:11:53] got a window of time to do it. And I
[00:11:55] want to say thank you for your support
[00:11:58] for the Family Research Council, for
[00:11:59] everything that you do. Thank you for
[00:12:01] being leaders in this fight. Thank you
[00:12:04] for not being afraid to articulate what
[00:12:07] we believe in together. It's a
[00:12:08] tremendous privilege to be in the fight
[00:12:10] with you. And I just want to bless you
[00:12:13] and your efforts and to say thank you
[00:12:14] for all that you do. And I believe I
[00:12:16] believe we are on the verge of a real
[00:12:19] sea change in this country. I do. I just
[00:12:21] I I'll finish with this. I was at a
[00:12:24] wedding recently. A friend a family
[00:12:26] friend of ours was getting married.
[00:12:27] Young gal who worked with my wife for
[00:12:29] years. And I'm at this wedding and I'm
[00:12:30] there once again. I was on boy duties,
[00:12:32] you know, with with my kids and my
[00:12:34] little girl was on the wedding. So, she
[00:12:35] was a flower girl. So, that was going
[00:12:37] great. But, Mike, I was trying to keep
[00:12:38] my boys from disrupting the entire
[00:12:39] proceeding, which as you could tell from
[00:12:41] my stories is a reoccurring problem. So,
[00:12:43] I'm there and here's the point of the
[00:12:45] story. A a young guy uh who's a
[00:12:47] groomsman in the wedding, I don't know
[00:12:48] him at all, comes up to me and he says,
[00:12:51] "Uh, are you Josh Holly?" And I said, "I
[00:12:53] am." And he said, "I saw a video of you
[00:12:55] talking at a men's conference." He just
[00:12:57] found it online. He said, "And then I
[00:12:58] saw you here standing in the back." And
[00:13:01] he said, "I just knew I had to come over
[00:13:02] and talk to you about Jesus Christ." He
[00:13:04] said, "I saw your video talking." It was
[00:13:06] at a at a church conference. He said,
[00:13:07] "Talking about Jesus." And he said, "I
[00:13:09] just I just wanted to introduce myself."
[00:13:10] He said, "Could we ever get a cup of
[00:13:11] coffee next time I'm in Washington DC?"
[00:13:15] And I said, "You bet. Absolutely. Here's
[00:13:17] my number. Let's get together." There is
[00:13:19] a hunger in our country now for the
[00:13:21] gospel that I've never seen in my
[00:13:23] lifetime. I don't know about you. And it
[00:13:25] just it touches my heart just to think
[00:13:26] about it and talk about it now. The Lord
[00:13:29] is opening up for us now a moment and
[00:13:33] his providence. Let's have the boldness
[00:13:35] to walk through it. God bless you. Thank
[00:13:37] you.
[00:13:40] [applause]
[00:13:46] [applause]
[00:13:48] Pacers got to get back for a vote.
[00:13:53] But we want to pray for him first and
[00:13:55] I've asked Chad Connelly with Faith
[00:13:56] Winds who's one of our partners to uh to
[00:13:58] pray.
[00:14:00] >> Heavenly Father, we bow before you and
[00:14:02] we know that at the name of Jesus, every
[00:14:04] knee will bow, every tongue will
[00:14:05] confess. But Lord, today we've gotten a
[00:14:07] witness, one of your servants
[00:14:09] acknowledging your greatness. Lord, we
[00:14:12] we're standing in the most powerful
[00:14:13] nation in the world. But thank you that
[00:14:15] one of our United States senators
[00:14:16] acknowledges that you're more powerful
[00:14:18] than the state. You're more powerful
[00:14:20] than any nation, more powerful than any
[00:14:22] senator. But you are God of God and King
[00:14:24] of Kings and Lord of Lords. Lord, I pray
[00:14:26] blessings on Senator Holly, his wife
[00:14:28] Aaron, their children. I pray blessings
[00:14:31] on his leadership that you would guide
[00:14:32] and lead. And just as Mori whispered to
[00:14:34] Esther through the the gate, who knows?
[00:14:37] But we've come to the kingdom for such a
[00:14:38] time as this. Thank you that Josh Holly
[00:14:41] answered the call. Lord, tap us on the
[00:14:43] shoulder with the same whisper. Guide
[00:14:45] our paths to be like Senator Holly, to
[00:14:48] speak out boldly for the gospel of Jesus
[00:14:50] Christ. lead us in this window you've
[00:14:52] given us. We acknowledge Lord that it is
[00:14:54] our turn. Thank you that Josh Holly is
[00:14:57] in the place he is. I pray you would
[00:14:58] anoint him with your goodness, your
[00:15:00] wisdom. Ex astound him with your
[00:15:02] goodness and your providence and your
[00:15:04] guidance. We pray all these things in
[00:15:06] the mighty and matchless name of Jesus.
[00:15:08] Amen. Amen.
