[00:23:11] oh [00:23:16] [Music] [00:23:29] [Music] [00:23:43] [Applause] [00:23:53] well it's here again for america come on [00:23:56] [Music] [00:23:57] [Applause] [00:24:02] remain standing just a minute we're [00:24:04] going to pray [00:24:06] but just before we pray [00:24:08] how many of this billy will say pastor i [00:24:10] really love america put your hand up [00:24:12] your eyes [00:24:14] we've talked a lot about freedom in the [00:24:16] last few days and thank god [00:24:19] for the freedom of this great country [00:24:22] but did you know it's possible to live [00:24:24] in the freeze country in the world [00:24:27] and still not be free [00:24:30] the people in this building that love [00:24:33] you love america [00:24:35] you stand for biblical principles [00:24:38] you love the church and you believe in [00:24:40] god [00:24:42] but still there's a hole in your heart [00:24:44] there's a shallow veneer [00:24:47] there's a vacancy [00:24:49] and there's no freedom within you [00:24:52] you see god created that space for him [00:24:55] you can try to fill it with wealth or [00:24:58] education or someone that would love you [00:25:02] but still that hole is still there [00:25:06] because that hole was made [00:25:08] for you [00:25:10] until you come to that place [00:25:12] that will say i give my life to you dear [00:25:14] lord [00:25:16] you're battling with issues and you're [00:25:18] really not free [00:25:20] maybe it's [00:25:22] some kind of addiction that you're [00:25:24] addicted to [00:25:25] maybe there's no freedom in your [00:25:27] marriage [00:25:29] but you're really not free [00:25:32] but in my prayer we can take care of [00:25:33] that tonight [00:25:35] for the bible said they that call upon [00:25:37] the name of the lord [00:25:39] shall be saved [00:25:40] and other means when we cry out and say [00:25:42] god please set me free [00:25:44] i need you i want you come into my life [00:25:48] the bible said you shall be saved [00:25:52] and so i'm going to ask you to join me [00:25:53] in a prayer we refer to as [00:25:55] the prayer of repentance [00:25:57] and the bible said that when that prayer [00:25:59] is prayed with a genuine repentant heart [00:26:03] that god hears us [00:26:05] and god answers our prayer [00:26:07] so we'll ever hit his about [00:26:10] you know i pray better when i know who [00:26:11] i'm praying for [00:26:13] so i'm going to ask everybody in just a [00:26:15] minute to slip your hand up in the [00:26:17] darkness i can just barely see [00:26:21] nobody's looking but only god will see [00:26:23] your hand and i will [00:26:25] and i pray better if i know there are [00:26:26] people that really [00:26:28] they want to be free tonight [00:26:30] but when i ask you to raise your head [00:26:32] you're saying pastor i need god right [00:26:34] now in my life [00:26:36] my circumstances are such [00:26:39] i need god to dig me out of this whole [00:26:41] pastor i needed my family and my [00:26:43] children and my work in my body [00:26:46] pastor [00:26:48] would you pray for me i really need [00:26:50] god's help [00:26:51] whatever head is about and no one is [00:26:53] looking just putting your hand up real [00:26:55] high [00:26:56] so i could see it right now [00:26:58] oh this is beautiful [00:27:00] hens are going up all over this building [00:27:03] i never get used to seeing people ask [00:27:06] for prayer as for god [00:27:08] to change their life [00:27:10] so will you join me in a prayer [00:27:12] i want everybody to pray this prayer not [00:27:14] just those who raise our hand [00:27:16] but i want the christians to join me [00:27:19] in this prayer will you do it [00:27:21] and i want to make it loud and strong [00:27:24] unashamedly are you ready [00:27:27] together [00:27:28] dear god [00:27:31] i need a savior [00:27:34] i need your help god [00:27:37] i cannot help myself [00:27:40] but you can help me [00:27:43] so dear god i call upon your name [00:27:47] and i ask you to forgive me [00:27:50] you said that you would [00:27:53] if i would ask you [00:27:55] so in the name of jesus [00:27:58] i come to your god [00:28:01] and i repent [00:28:03] i give my life to you [00:28:06] i am now forgiven [00:28:09] i am yours [00:28:11] thank you for coming into my heart [00:28:15] in jesus name [00:28:17] amen [00:28:19] come on let me hear you give a good [00:28:21] praise [00:28:22] join the angels in heaven [00:28:25] and rejoice together [00:28:27] well before you sit down turn the one [00:28:29] beside you and say i'm sure glad you [00:28:32] came out tonight you're looking better [00:28:33] than when you first came in okay then [00:28:35] you may be [00:28:43] guys are seated i think [00:28:48] that's commitment i think they're going [00:28:49] to stay there all night [00:28:52] welcome everyone especially to those on [00:28:55] our online community welcome to freedom [00:28:57] night in america what an exceptional [00:28:59] night we've already had [00:29:00] and you know when the [00:29:02] conception of this night happened uh my [00:29:05] husband [00:29:06] luke barnett and and charlie envisioned [00:29:08] that this is where civic issues collided [00:29:12] with biblical answers and that's what [00:29:15] this night is all about and that we get [00:29:17] to approach how can we [00:29:19] be a part of bigger things in our [00:29:21] community [00:29:22] but they also have such a heart [00:29:24] affecting the whole state of arizona [00:29:26] and that comes with outreach [00:29:28] and i am here tonight to get to [00:29:30] celebrate with you the reversal of roe v [00:29:38] wade what an honor in this time in space [00:29:42] that we are living in [00:29:44] but we you know last week last month [00:29:47] when josh chumley with choices pregnancy [00:29:49] was standing up here with me and we're [00:29:51] really linking armed with [00:29:53] pro-life crisis and resource pregnancy [00:29:56] clinics because it's going to take all [00:29:58] of us their clinic called me this week [00:30:00] and there was a girl living in her car [00:30:02] car broke down 37 weeks pregnant and had [00:30:05] a one-year-old living in her car and [00:30:07] every [00:30:08] institution in phoenix including the [00:30:10] dream center with six months waiting [00:30:13] left list was full with a six-month [00:30:16] waiting list so i think what we need to [00:30:18] realize [00:30:20] is that we better be prepared for what [00:30:22] is coming our way [00:30:24] and we are all about seeing life to term [00:30:27] but we have to be [00:30:29] all about whole life and the dream [00:30:31] center addresses all the stages of [00:30:35] recovery and whole life the beautiful [00:30:37] thing about the phoenix dream center the [00:30:38] shore creek dream center and the white [00:30:40] mountain dream center [00:30:41] is that we are able to take moms and [00:30:44] children and allow them healed together [00:30:46] so many places are not licensed to do so [00:30:48] so as the ushers come forward tonight we [00:30:50] hope [00:30:51] that you would see yourself a part of [00:30:53] this [00:30:54] in that you know the church comes in to [00:30:57] it where we need mentors and people to [00:30:59] come alongside of these amazing young [00:31:01] ladies who find themselves in crisis we [00:31:03] can all be a part of the process but the [00:31:06] dream center comes into play very [00:31:08] purposefully [00:31:09] in walking people through whole life [00:31:12] recovery so i hope tonight you can see [00:31:14] yourself being a part of this let me [00:31:16] bless the offering lord we thank you so [00:31:19] much for an opportunity to share the [00:31:20] exciting things that are going on but to [00:31:22] be [00:31:23] very well aware [00:31:25] of what you are calling us to do to [00:31:27] stand in the gap we accept the [00:31:30] responsibility [00:31:32] of the blessings you have allowed us to [00:31:34] experience but the wave that is coming [00:31:37] our way we stand up as the church and we [00:31:40] will not sit back idle we accept the [00:31:43] call to action that is what tonight is [00:31:46] all about bless this offering your name [00:31:48] we pray amen [00:31:50] well listen as they're passing the [00:31:52] buckets we are really excited [00:31:56] to let you know that dream city [00:31:58] christian a turning point academy [00:32:02] yes [00:32:03] this is now being launched across the [00:32:05] nation i'm sure charlie's going to talk [00:32:07] more about it but we just want you to [00:32:09] know that there's a higher level a safe [00:32:12] place of education where there's nothing [00:32:14] woke in that environment where we will [00:32:17] not deconstruct [00:32:19] a beautiful american history that we [00:32:21] have and the teachers will be on point [00:32:24] with us and there's lots of different [00:32:26] opportunities to make sure all children [00:32:28] could be a part of this christian school [00:32:31] and there's different opportunities like [00:32:32] deferred tax credits instead of paying [00:32:34] it to the state there's really great [00:32:36] ways that arizona thank you arizona [00:32:39] allows us to have this as an opportunity [00:32:41] so we do have a table out in the lobby [00:32:44] that if you're interested in getting [00:32:46] more involved learning more about the [00:32:47] school we do have representation out in [00:32:49] the lobby so please [00:32:51] go out there and ask questions because [00:32:53] we want every student to be able to go [00:32:55] to a high level incredible non-woke [00:32:58] school amen [00:33:00] all right well no further ado charlie [00:33:03] kirk would you come on up we are so [00:33:05] proud of him [00:33:08] we appreciate you [00:33:10] we do not take it lightly [00:33:19] thank you angel thank you everybody [00:33:21] thank you [00:33:22] boy what an amazing presentation that [00:33:24] was by the way wasn't that incredible [00:33:26] that was so special [00:33:28] and um i'm sure you're you're with me i [00:33:30] was getting emotional throughout that [00:33:32] and as i was watching that i had [00:33:34] actually [00:33:35] kind of a two emotions going on at once [00:33:38] i was [00:33:39] moved by the presentation and emotional [00:33:42] and i think some of you also were [00:33:44] kind of getting angry that our beautiful [00:33:46] country is being destroyed in front of [00:33:47] our very eyes right i mean that just [00:33:49] being very honest with you is just hard [00:33:51] to kind of that tension of emotions [00:33:53] because what a gift we've been given [00:33:55] from the lord honestly to live in this [00:33:56] country um and the greatest nation ever [00:33:59] to exist in the history of the world and [00:34:01] we're gonna change it that's why we're [00:34:02] here tonight we're gonna we're gonna [00:34:03] take it back we're gonna [00:34:05] make some appropriate changes so [00:34:07] i want to i want to touch on a couple [00:34:08] things um first of all of course dream [00:34:11] city schools check out turning point [00:34:13] dream city schools a turning point [00:34:14] academy check it out now enrolling [00:34:16] students for the fall some super [00:34:18] exciting updates [00:34:19] that will be coming in fact we're about [00:34:21] to announce two more branches of turning [00:34:24] point academies coming in [00:34:26] hopefully in the next days and weeks [00:34:28] including homeschool curriculum [00:34:31] pod schooling curriculum as well as some [00:34:33] very exciting uh new programming that [00:34:36] will be done to be able to make it [00:34:37] easier for parents to be able to no [00:34:40] longer have an excuse our vision for [00:34:42] turning point academy nationwide is for [00:34:45] parents to no longer say you know what i [00:34:47] don't like my local government school [00:34:49] but there's no option we want to make [00:34:50] sure that the options are always in [00:34:52] front of every parent that wants to be [00:34:54] able to pull their kid out of government [00:34:56] schools that is our vision for what [00:34:58] we're doing at turning point academy [00:35:00] and angel beat me to it but i what what [00:35:04] a incredible [00:35:06] last month when it comes to the supreme [00:35:08] court we'll talk about this tonight with [00:35:10] frank but [00:35:11] you know in this kind of news cycle we [00:35:13] live in where everything seems so [00:35:15] overwhelmingly negative [00:35:17] wasn't it remarkable to finally see the [00:35:19] supreme court do something courageous [00:35:21] and bold [00:35:22] and [00:35:24] constitutional as well by the way [00:35:28] and i would be remiss if i did not [00:35:30] mention the people who who helped make [00:35:33] that possible you see [00:35:34] the supreme court is a lagging indicator [00:35:37] it's not a leading indicator so the [00:35:39] supreme court usually bears fruit of [00:35:42] fights that happened generations ago [00:35:45] so these are judges that were put in [00:35:47] place by prior administrations or [00:35:49] justices because of past elections or [00:35:51] arguments that [00:35:53] quite honestly were won or lost before a [00:35:55] lot of us were engaged in the fight [00:35:57] and so that decision was the work of 40 [00:36:01] or 50 years [00:36:03] of prayer and fasting from churches like [00:36:06] this one from leaders like pastor tommy [00:36:08] from leaders like billy graham [00:36:10] leaders like rush limbaugh [00:36:12] leaders like antonin scalia and i think [00:36:15] it would be a mistake not to mention the [00:36:18] multi-generations of warriors like [00:36:19] phyllis schlafly who went in the [00:36:22] trenches and said you know what this [00:36:24] decision can be overturned and we must [00:36:26] recognize that [00:36:28] it didn't happen overnight how often [00:36:30] have we said that here at freedom night [00:36:32] throughout the last year big and bold [00:36:34] and important things are going to take [00:36:36] sometimes years to get done [00:36:38] but guess what rush limbaugh and billy [00:36:40] graham are smiling from heaven saying i [00:36:42] told you guys to keep fighting for that [00:36:44] and [00:36:46] what's so there's so many things that we [00:36:48] must unpack on in this and this shows [00:36:50] how incredible the church that dream [00:36:52] city is because dream city passed what i [00:36:55] kind of put forward as the two-part test [00:36:57] of the roe vs wade reversal so the first [00:37:00] one is did your pastor mention it [00:37:02] happened [00:37:04] that's the first thing right [00:37:06] most did not [00:37:08] most pastors just acted as if it was [00:37:10] just another day at church [00:37:13] or they said you know i know this is a [00:37:15] very difficult issue sorry your pastor [00:37:17] it's not a difficult issue okay [00:37:19] maybe if you were a secular humanist [00:37:21] running some sort of philosophy class at [00:37:23] a local university it's a difficult [00:37:25] issue not difficult for a pastor right [00:37:27] we're made in the image of god life is [00:37:29] sacred it needs to be protected period [00:37:31] every pastor needs to say it [00:37:34] and so that's the so there were a lot of [00:37:36] pastors that passed the first part but [00:37:38] the second part is equally as important [00:37:40] which is we now need to step up [00:37:43] and recognize and realize those of us [00:37:45] that have been advocating for an end to [00:37:47] abortion in america need to expand our [00:37:49] services our charities our nonprofits [00:37:52] like the dream center to be able to [00:37:54] equip and empower and support every [00:37:57] woman in america that is now going to be [00:38:00] bringing life into this world it's now [00:38:01] on us because look the other side [00:38:03] they're going to be saying the argument [00:38:05] they always make is we need abortion [00:38:07] because it's too expensive we need [00:38:08] abortion because it's too costly we need [00:38:10] abortion because there's no options and [00:38:11] that's one of the reasons why we [00:38:12] partnered with choices here in arizona [00:38:15] amazing organization by the way and so [00:38:18] now it's incumbent on us as christians [00:38:20] to step up to the plate to support these [00:38:22] charities even more with our time and [00:38:24] our treasure and our resources and our [00:38:25] prayer because there is going to be an [00:38:28] overwhelming amount of first-time [00:38:31] mothers and by the way we know that just [00:38:33] because in texas when the six-week [00:38:36] abortion ban went into place abortions [00:38:39] went down by 70 to 80 percent now mind [00:38:41] you this was always an argument that the [00:38:44] abortionists made they said you can [00:38:45] outlaw abortion but it's not going to [00:38:47] decrease abortions it's just a lie [00:38:49] actually is when you outlaw things [00:38:51] people reconsider it it's like a really [00:38:52] weird thing right i know when it's not [00:38:54] legal people say well maybe it's illegal [00:38:56] for a reason or maybe do i really want [00:38:58] to do this and look some people are [00:39:00] going to be motivated to go across [00:39:01] across state lines that's still going to [00:39:04] be you know legal in our country for the [00:39:05] time being they'll go to new mexico or [00:39:07] california but some people will [00:39:08] reconsider it and they'll say maybe i [00:39:10] don't want to do this maybe i'll get an [00:39:12] ultrasound maybe i'm going to hear a [00:39:13] heartbeat and [00:39:15] what an amazing opportunity for the [00:39:17] church to say welcome to say that we're [00:39:20] here to support you we're here to help [00:39:22] you judgment-free zone we're not going [00:39:24] to condemn you we're not going to speak [00:39:26] harshly to you i think it's one of the [00:39:28] greatest evangelist opportunities the [00:39:30] church has ever had to be able to [00:39:33] support the people that need the support [00:39:35] and so i just want to encourage us to [00:39:37] lean into that moment and so that's the [00:39:39] two-step test in dream city past both of [00:39:41] them i was watching very carefully you [00:39:42] could see a lot some of these um [00:39:45] wokey pastors right they uh [00:39:48] they would tweet stuff out that was just [00:39:49] so amazing and i won't say any names i [00:39:51] promise i won't but um [00:39:53] they were like you know nowhere in the [00:39:55] bible does it say abortion is wrong like [00:39:57] yeah nor in the bible does it say [00:39:59] dropping an atom bomb on berlin is wrong [00:40:01] but you kind of deduct that from thou [00:40:03] shalt not murder right i mean that's [00:40:05] probably pretty obvious i knew you [00:40:07] before you in the womb or very basic [00:40:08] things [00:40:09] and basically what it comes down to is [00:40:11] courage and this issue has always made [00:40:15] some people cowardly that we're going to [00:40:17] offend others that we are not going to [00:40:20] be able to win people over [00:40:22] and in fact the data's showing the [00:40:23] opposite the data is actually showing [00:40:26] this nation is becoming more pro-life [00:40:28] that it's actually showing that that the [00:40:30] more we talk about this issue [00:40:32] the more converts we actually make and [00:40:35] so the only argument they ever had was [00:40:38] my body my choice [00:40:40] after the vaccine mandate thing i don't [00:40:42] take them seriously anymore i just i'm [00:40:45] sorry we're done [00:40:48] like the whole bodily and by the way [00:40:50] it's a silly argument it's not your body [00:40:52] okay it's somebody else's body separate [00:40:54] dna not your choice but still [00:40:56] that was the one kind of compelling [00:40:58] nature of the whole thing and i think we [00:41:00] saw in the reaction which was so amazing [00:41:03] and a compliment to all of you and an [00:41:04] encouragement that i think [00:41:06] more victories are going to come in the [00:41:08] years and decades to come [00:41:10] is that the the hours after the decision [00:41:13] the reversal we won the narrative war i [00:41:16] totally anticipated us losing the [00:41:18] narrative war by the way but they [00:41:19] started to put people on television [00:41:21] saying you know why we need abortion [00:41:22] because special needs kids are hard to [00:41:23] raise literally anna navarro goes on cnn [00:41:26] and saying that or they say you know [00:41:27] what we we need less people on earth [00:41:30] really [00:41:31] and so they just kind of completely [00:41:32] imploded and it's a very interesting [00:41:35] issue because it it mixes [00:41:38] biology [00:41:39] science morality metaphysics emotion and [00:41:43] so i just want to just encourage [00:41:45] everybody because there will be some [00:41:46] people say charlie stop talking about [00:41:48] this issue it's a losing issue [00:41:50] first of all who cares it's right or [00:41:52] wrong i don't take a popularity test of [00:41:54] that but even if that [00:41:56] that's actually not true though that's [00:41:58] the point is that it happens to be the [00:42:00] lie of the enemy where the nation is now [00:42:04] more pro-life than ever before the more [00:42:06] people learn about it the more people [00:42:08] say you know what this is wrong and we [00:42:10] have to put an end to it and so [00:42:12] if it was not for active churches like [00:42:14] dream city it's very important it was [00:42:16] not for active churches like dream city [00:42:18] throughout the years this never would [00:42:20] have got done but also we need to make [00:42:21] sure we understand it if it wasn't for [00:42:23] somebody else [00:42:25] this would not have got done and i know [00:42:26] everyone has different opinions of this [00:42:28] individual but this is a fact and you [00:42:30] don't have to like what i'm about to say [00:42:31] okay you don't have to like it but if [00:42:33] you like babies and you like the unborn [00:42:35] then this is a fact that um how do i put [00:42:38] this someone who lived a colorful life [00:42:40] from new york city who was once [00:42:41] pro-choice himself who once supported [00:42:44] planned parenthood [00:42:46] god had a call on his life for maybe [00:42:47] just one or two or three reasons but to [00:42:49] go down a golden escalator and win an [00:42:51] election he was not supposed to win [00:42:54] and [00:42:56] again you don't have to like the guy i'm [00:42:57] not i'm not saying you have to like it [00:42:58] it's a fact of life that god can use [00:43:00] anybody for any reason [00:43:02] and he did a highly suspicious thing he [00:43:05] actually did what he said he was going [00:43:06] to do i know we're not used to that [00:43:08] makes us all very freaked out right [00:43:11] and we got amy coney barrett neil [00:43:12] gorsuch and brett kavanaugh and and i [00:43:15] want to say [00:43:17] kavanaugh's ruling on immigration was [00:43:19] somewhat disappointing but [00:43:20] if you survive an assassination attempt [00:43:23] on your family and you still rule [00:43:25] correctly on roe v wade that's worthy of [00:43:27] appreciation and applause it really is [00:43:29] that's that that's courage so [00:43:32] it's a big moment for the church we must [00:43:34] now step into this and help the people [00:43:36] that need our help and see this is a [00:43:38] great opportunity i'm going to tell you [00:43:39] about our guest tonight so i first [00:43:41] became aware of our guest when i was in [00:43:43] a hotel room in spokane washington we [00:43:46] were talking about spokane earlier i [00:43:48] just got done speaking at washington [00:43:49] state university in pullman which is far [00:43:52] uh not far but it's it's a ways from [00:43:53] spokane [00:43:55] and i turned on local television and [00:43:57] there was this incredibly articulate [00:44:00] presenter talking about how atheism is [00:44:02] actually irrational talking about the [00:44:04] case for the resurrection i'd never [00:44:06] heard of any of this before i said who [00:44:08] is this guy so i started to look up his [00:44:09] youtube videos [00:44:11] i was so moved by it and actually his [00:44:13] entire podcast and his show is called i [00:44:15] don't have enough faith to be an atheist [00:44:17] in fact that's the name of his book i [00:44:19] don't have enough faith to be an atheist [00:44:21] and so he does what i do [00:44:24] but just a little bit differently he [00:44:25] goes to college campuses and takes [00:44:27] questions all about christianity all [00:44:29] about atheism and he is one of the most [00:44:32] gifted and charismatic apologists of our [00:44:35] time someone who makes the case for [00:44:37] christianity he also has a new book out [00:44:39] called hollywood heroes which is [00:44:40] terrific i'm actually gonna freak out [00:44:42] frank on our show tomorrow to talk about [00:44:44] this on our radio program and our [00:44:45] podcast and i've got to know frank over [00:44:48] the last year year and a half um pretty [00:44:50] well and we trade texts and have dinners [00:44:52] every so often and do um just kind of [00:44:55] are there for one another and i deeply [00:44:57] appreciate it but i think you're going [00:44:58] to be really moved by the rational case [00:45:00] for christianity and this is something [00:45:02] that we don't always present which is [00:45:04] the archaeological evidence the rational [00:45:07] evidence the natural law evidence of how [00:45:10] if you look at things even supporting [00:45:12] the bible that it confirms biblical [00:45:14] truth themselves so please join me in [00:45:16] welcoming the incredible frank turek [00:45:22] thank you guys [00:45:34] charlie kirk ladies and gentlemen right [00:45:36] here charlie kirk [00:45:37] so um talk about articulate huh [00:45:40] right here very kind [00:45:42] so frank welcome we've been talking uh [00:45:45] for a while to get you out here i'm so [00:45:46] glad it worked uh sorry about the [00:45:48] weather but it's actually a cool day [00:45:49] today so [00:45:51] so frank let me play devil's advocate [00:45:54] it is reasonable and rational to be an [00:45:56] atheist there's no evidence for god what [00:45:58] do you mean you have no faith to be an [00:46:00] atheist faith is for you religious [00:46:02] people [00:46:03] well first of all you're wrong [00:46:07] uh the atheists are now saying things [00:46:10] like [00:46:12] i just lack a belief in god have you [00:46:14] heard this yet when atheists will say i [00:46:16] lack a belief in god that's their new [00:46:18] way of saying that you have faith and i [00:46:20] don't and i simply ask them this [00:46:22] question here's a proposition god exists [00:46:25] do you [00:46:27] agree with that proposition and if you [00:46:29] do then you're a theist do you disagree [00:46:32] with that proposition in that case [00:46:33] you're an atheist or don't you know [00:46:35] you're an agnostic you know what they [00:46:37] always say i don't know i said what's [00:46:38] all this lack of belief stuff [00:46:40] you just don't know whether it's a god [00:46:42] or not i think there's evidence for god [00:46:44] can we go into some of that so so yeah [00:46:45] let's get into that frank what evidence [00:46:47] could there possibly be for god i've [00:46:49] people say i've never seen god i can't i [00:46:52] can't touch god what evidence could [00:46:53] there possibly be [00:46:55] if someone ever asks you why do you know [00:46:57] that god exists i think you ought to say [00:46:58] this i know god by his effects [00:47:02] in other words there are effects of god [00:47:04] everywhere and what we're doing just [00:47:06] like a scientist does when they're [00:47:08] trying to figure out what particular [00:47:10] cause caused a particular effect their [00:47:12] reasoning from effect back to cause so [00:47:15] let's go through a few effects [00:47:17] first of all the universe is in effect [00:47:19] the universe exploded into being out of [00:47:21] nothing [00:47:22] once there was nothing and then the [00:47:24] entire space-time continuum left into [00:47:26] existence what could have caused [00:47:28] space-time and matter to come into [00:47:30] existence [00:47:31] the only thing i think that could cause [00:47:34] space-time and matter to come into [00:47:35] existence is something that is spaceless [00:47:39] timeless [00:47:41] immaterial [00:47:42] powerful to create the universe out of [00:47:44] nothing [00:47:46] personal in order to choose to create [00:47:48] because to go for to go from nothing to [00:47:50] a state of creation someone has to make [00:47:52] a choice and only persons can make [00:47:54] choices the cause would also have to be [00:47:57] intelligent to have a mind to make a [00:47:59] choice so i always ask audiences i say [00:48:02] when you think about a spaceless [00:48:04] timeless [00:48:05] immaterial powerful [00:48:08] personal intelligent cause who do you [00:48:11] think of [00:48:12] who do you think of [00:48:13] god you say well how do you know it's [00:48:14] the christian god and my answer is [00:48:17] we don't [00:48:19] yet [00:48:20] we haven't done enough research yet this [00:48:22] could be allah at this point charlie [00:48:24] this could just be a generic god that [00:48:27] say thomas jefferson talked about we [00:48:29] hold these truths to be self-evident he [00:48:30] didn't mention it was jesus he just said [00:48:32] a creator but if we keep looking at the [00:48:35] evidence we're going to realize [00:48:37] that the same being that walked out of [00:48:40] the tomb [00:48:41] 1989 years ago is the same being in [00:48:44] whose divine nature created the universe [00:48:47] out of nothing but we have to look at [00:48:49] the evidence for the resurrection for [00:48:50] that so that's one effect yeah and so [00:48:53] we'll get deeper into this frank but i [00:48:55] think that the argument for atheism is [00:48:57] so patently insane the only way that [00:49:00] someone could be an atheist or believe [00:49:01] atheism is because they want to believe [00:49:03] it yeah they don't want to believe in [00:49:05] god or christianity in fact here's a [00:49:07] question i always ask people on college [00:49:09] campuses charlie goes to a lot of [00:49:10] college campuses as i do as well and if [00:49:13] i if during the q a there's an atheist [00:49:15] or a non-believer at the microphone and [00:49:17] if they demonstrate any hostility at all [00:49:19] i'll normally ask this question [00:49:22] if christianity were true would you [00:49:23] become a christian [00:49:25] i've had atheists stand at that [00:49:26] microphone in front of hundreds of [00:49:28] people and say [00:49:29] no [00:49:32] no [00:49:34] wait you claim to be reasonable i asked [00:49:36] you if something were true would you [00:49:37] believe it and you say no how's that [00:49:39] reasonable how's that rational it's not [00:49:41] the problem is in here the problem's [00:49:44] here they don't want it to be true they [00:49:47] don't want there to be a god why because [00:49:49] they want to be god of their own lives [00:49:51] they're not on a truth quest ladies and [00:49:53] gentlemen they're on a happiness quest [00:49:56] and they're just going to believe [00:49:57] whatever they think is going to make [00:49:58] them happy here's the problem you can [00:50:01] make yourself happy over the short term [00:50:03] at college maybe [00:50:05] but over the long term it's a disaster [00:50:08] if you just try to do stuff that's going [00:50:10] to make you feel good [00:50:13] it's going to help you in the short term [00:50:14] but over the long term it's a disaster [00:50:16] and everyone in this room and watching [00:50:18] out there who's over 40 knows what i'm [00:50:19] talking about and charlie who's well [00:50:21] beyond his years already knows it too [00:50:24] because if you just try and make [00:50:25] yourself happy without regard to other [00:50:27] people [00:50:28] you're gonna wind up depressed lonely [00:50:31] full of anxiety the only way to get true [00:50:34] contentment and happiness is to go [00:50:36] straight through truth and jesus is the [00:50:38] truth amen now let me mention one other [00:50:42] thing regarding this [00:50:44] i found that most people are looking for [00:50:46] god like a criminal is looking for a cop [00:50:50] they're not interested so you always [00:50:52] need to stop and ask them if [00:50:54] christianity were true would you become [00:50:56] a christian in fact can i do a little [00:50:58] survey here is it okay do a little [00:50:59] survey [00:51:00] i want you [00:51:02] uh ladies and gentlemen to think of [00:51:04] somebody you know [00:51:05] who's not a christian whom you'd like to [00:51:08] be a christian everybody got somebody [00:51:10] i don't point at them [00:51:12] all right [00:51:13] okay here's my question about the person [00:51:15] you're thinking of [00:51:17] is the person you're thinking of on a [00:51:19] relentless pursuit of truth they want to [00:51:22] know if christianity is true or [00:51:24] are they apathetic or maybe even hostile [00:51:26] to christianity how many people say the [00:51:28] person i'm thinking of is on a [00:51:30] relentless pursuit of truth they want to [00:51:31] know if christianity is true because [00:51:32] your hands please [00:51:35] two two [00:51:37] how many people say the person i'm [00:51:38] thinking of is apathetic or hostile okay [00:51:40] look around the room ladies and [00:51:41] gentlemen [00:51:43] people are not interested [00:51:47] you know what you do with such people [00:51:49] you love them you pray for them you [00:51:51] plant seeds and then you wait [00:51:54] because what's going to happen it [00:51:55] happens to all of us someday a tragedy [00:51:58] is going to going to occur [00:52:00] and your phone is going to ring and that [00:52:01] person is going to be on the other end [00:52:03] they're not going to call their atheist [00:52:04] friend when things go wrong what's the [00:52:05] atheist going to say there's no rhyme or [00:52:07] reason to life this stuff just happens [00:52:09] no they're going to call you [00:52:11] when the student's ready the teacher [00:52:12] will appear if they're ever going to be [00:52:14] ready it's when tragedy strikes so frank [00:52:17] one of the kind of i i would say idea [00:52:20] pathogens [00:52:21] that is infecting the minds of our [00:52:23] nation's young people [00:52:25] is the virus of subjectivism or [00:52:28] subjectivity and it's nothing new it's [00:52:29] been around for quite some time the [00:52:31] great c.s lewis and i encourage all of [00:52:33] you to read cs lewis at least once a [00:52:35] year uh screwtape letters miracles mere [00:52:38] christianity narnia is great to read to [00:52:40] your kids and grandkids super biblically [00:52:42] based abolition of man which is terrific [00:52:45] uh c.s lewis is almost an unlimited [00:52:47] reservoir of wisdom here but he really [00:52:49] pinpointed the danger in subjectivity so [00:52:53] the best way that we could describe [00:52:54] subjectivity is what you'll hear in a [00:52:56] college campus and maybe from your [00:52:57] grandkids when they come back from a [00:52:59] semester on a college campus that you're [00:53:01] going into debt to go pay for is when [00:53:03] they come home and they say no that's my [00:53:04] truth [00:53:06] and everyone has their own truth now [00:53:09] mind you this is at what's the heart of [00:53:10] the transgender movement isn't it that i [00:53:13] have a different material truth than you [00:53:15] do and that we can't have any sort of [00:53:18] agreed upon precepts so frank what would [00:53:21] be the proper response when someone says [00:53:23] okay no but i have my own truth i have [00:53:25] my own beliefs i chart my own course my [00:53:28] own destiny there's no such thing as [00:53:30] truth everyone has their own story they [00:53:32] tell themselves in fact nothing is [00:53:34] absolutely true yeah great question when [00:53:36] somebody says there is no truth you [00:53:38] ought to ask them is that true [00:53:41] is it true that there's no truth because [00:53:43] if it's true that there's no truth to [00:53:45] claim there is no truth can't be true [00:53:46] but it claims to be true [00:53:50] did i say that right [00:53:53] i know that can give you intellectual [00:53:54] constipation if you think about it [00:53:56] because this is known as a [00:53:57] self-defeating statement a [00:53:59] self-defeating statement doesn't mean [00:54:01] its own standard if i were to say i [00:54:03] can't speak a word in english what would [00:54:04] you say [00:54:06] you just use english to say it when [00:54:08] people say there is no truth or they say [00:54:10] there are no absolutes they're uttering [00:54:12] self-defeating statements they're saying [00:54:13] it's absolutely true there are no [00:54:15] absolutes [00:54:16] is that an absolute if they say all [00:54:18] truth is relative what are you going to [00:54:19] say [00:54:20] is that a relative truth no it's an [00:54:22] objective truth when people say i have [00:54:24] my truth and you have your truth there [00:54:26] is no the truth you want to ask them is [00:54:28] that the truth that there is no the [00:54:30] truth [00:54:31] do you see the problem it defeats itself [00:54:34] actually when people say they have their [00:54:36] own truth you might as well say to them [00:54:38] i know this is not popular in today's [00:54:40] culture but there's no such thing as [00:54:42] your truth or my truth there's just the [00:54:43] truth i mean if you're going to say you [00:54:45] have your own truth you might as well [00:54:46] just say i have my own math [00:54:49] i mean imagine if charlie were to hire [00:54:50] me to do something he said hey frank [00:54:52] i'll give you 15 an hour do the job and [00:54:55] then let me know what i owe you so i [00:54:56] work for 10 hours and i come to charlie [00:54:58] i go charlie it's great been great [00:55:00] working for you here at tourney point [00:55:01] usa i've worked for 10 hours and you [00:55:03] said 15 an hour so you owe me fifteen [00:55:06] thousand dollars [00:55:07] charlie's gonna say what i don't know [00:55:09] you have fifteen thousand i owe you 150 [00:55:12] and i go oh no you don't understand i [00:55:13] have my own math [00:55:15] all right no now frank in all fairness [00:55:17] this is the idea that's running our [00:55:19] government right now [00:55:22] this is not an outrageous proposition [00:55:27] no it's silliness to say you have your [00:55:29] own truth [00:55:30] there's just the truth not your truth [00:55:33] not my truth it's self-defeating to say [00:55:35] there's no truth it's like when people [00:55:36] say don't judge [00:55:38] what should you say to him [00:55:40] well then why are you judging me for [00:55:41] judging [00:55:43] see it's a judgment jesus didn't say [00:55:45] don't judge he said judge not lest you [00:55:48] be judged by the same standard you you [00:55:50] judge others you'll be judged by that [00:55:52] standard so before you try and take the [00:55:54] spec out of your brother's eye you [00:55:56] hypocrite which is a judgment you notice [00:55:58] that you hypocrite take the log out of [00:56:00] your own eye first and then you'll be [00:56:01] better able to help your brother is this [00:56:03] a command not to judge no it's a command [00:56:05] on how to judge he's telling you to take [00:56:08] the spec out of your brother's eye that [00:56:10] involves making a judgment he's simply [00:56:12] saying don't judge hypocritically if [00:56:14] you've got that problem fix it then go [00:56:16] help your brother it'd be completely [00:56:18] ridiculous to say don't make judgments [00:56:19] why the people who are telling you not [00:56:21] to make judgments are they're the most [00:56:22] judgmental people in society [00:56:25] charlie deals with them all the time [00:56:27] they give me such warm welcomes when i [00:56:29] go to berkeley i have to tell you they [00:56:30] just love hearing from me you went to [00:56:32] you cal berserkly yeah i multiple times [00:56:35] you did uc berkeley stanford boulder um [00:56:38] so frank let's talk about the moral [00:56:39] implications if there is no god and so i [00:56:43] feel as if we're living through the [00:56:44] beginning stages of this moment right [00:56:47] now in america because if everyone gets [00:56:49] to determine their own truth and [00:56:51] determine their own morality [00:56:53] well then who's to say what is right or [00:56:55] wrong why should children not be exposed [00:56:57] to highly pornographic material what [00:56:59] difference does it make who's to say my [00:57:01] truth says differently what are the [00:57:02] societal moral implications when you do [00:57:05] not believe in first a god or at least a [00:57:08] moral giver or a moral law that is [00:57:10] absolute and not something that is [00:57:12] relative well this is another one of [00:57:13] those effects that i mentioned earlier [00:57:15] when someone says how do you know god [00:57:16] exists you're reasoning from effect to [00:57:18] cause so we've reasoned from the effect [00:57:20] known as the universe back to a [00:57:22] spaceless timeless immaterial cause now [00:57:25] when we get a moral law written on our [00:57:26] hearts that say thomas jefferson would [00:57:28] say is self-evident that the apostle [00:57:30] paul said the gentiles are now the law [00:57:32] of the law written on their hearts [00:57:33] that's from romans chapter two [00:57:36] these laws that are pressing on us are [00:57:39] effects the question is what caused [00:57:40] these effects [00:57:42] the effect for a moral law is a moral [00:57:45] law giver so we're reasoning from effect [00:57:48] back to cause [00:57:50] and so that's another way we know that [00:57:52] god exists here's the the ugly truth if [00:57:54] there is no god [00:57:56] then nothing is ultimately right or [00:57:58] wrong everything's just a matter of [00:57:59] opinion it's just your opinion against [00:58:02] say hitler's opinion [00:58:03] it's just your opinion [00:58:06] against [00:58:07] putin's opinion or whoever you think is [00:58:09] evil it's your opinion [00:58:12] against anyone that says [00:58:16] something is right or wrong if there's [00:58:17] no god everything's just a matter of [00:58:19] opinion well we know murder is not just [00:58:21] a matter of opinion we know rape is not [00:58:23] just a matter of opinion [00:58:24] we know that those things are really [00:58:26] objectively morally wrong and if they're [00:58:28] objectively morally wrong there must be [00:58:30] a standard of rightness [00:58:32] that defines what [00:58:34] goodness is and any deviation from that [00:58:36] standard would be what we would call [00:58:38] evil like murder or rape or theft or [00:58:41] whatever those things are in fact i [00:58:43] think it's the most powerful argument [00:58:44] today for the existence of god because [00:58:47] no matter where you go charlie whether [00:58:49] you're dealing with an atheist an [00:58:51] agnostic or a christian or a muslim [00:58:53] whoever you're dealing with they think [00:58:55] certain things are morally right and [00:58:56] certain things are morally wrong [00:58:59] and so frank i think we're starting to [00:59:01] you see in our society an entire [00:59:03] generation that has been plagued by the [00:59:05] inability to differentiate what is real [00:59:08] and what is not and i i it's a it's a [00:59:11] term that i'm workshopping but it really [00:59:13] is kind of this plague of the [00:59:16] imagination versus reality what do i [00:59:19] mean by this you have a generation that [00:59:21] is staring at screens where they just [00:59:23] see photons all day long where whether [00:59:25] it be video games or hyper graphic [00:59:27] pornography or just talking to friends [00:59:30] that quite honestly don't exist in the [00:59:31] metaverse and then they have to come [00:59:33] into the world that isn't as stimulating [00:59:34] as that video game and their entire [00:59:37] neuro their entire neural profile is [00:59:39] completely messed up and they ask the [00:59:41] questions what is even real and this is [00:59:43] where they say well i know god for sure [00:59:45] is not real because i can't see god like [00:59:48] i can see the video game in front of me [00:59:50] i know this is a silly and elementary [00:59:52] argument but can you just for a brief [00:59:53] second talk about [00:59:55] how silly the argument is when people [00:59:57] say i can't see god therefore god does [00:59:58] not exist yeah well there's a lot of [01:00:00] things you can't see that you believe in [01:00:02] for example you believe in the laws of [01:00:04] logic you can't see them touch them [01:00:06] taste them but you're using them right [01:00:08] now you believe in your mind have you [01:00:09] ever seen your mind [01:00:12] you're using it right now you believe in [01:00:15] justice have you ever seen justice [01:00:18] oh you may have seen people being [01:00:19] treated justly or unjustly but you've [01:00:22] never seen justice in itself because [01:00:24] justice is not a physical thing you see [01:00:27] you believe in love [01:00:29] have you ever seen love oh you may have [01:00:32] seen people love you may have loved but [01:00:33] you've never seen love in itself in fact [01:00:36] years ago i had a debate couple of [01:00:38] debates with christopher hitchens do you [01:00:39] remember christopher hitchens he was a [01:00:41] brilliant british atheist who sounded [01:00:43] more brilliant than he was because he [01:00:44] had a british accent that's right [01:00:47] yeah used really big words anyway in one [01:00:49] of our debates someone from the audience [01:00:51] a student at the college of new jersey [01:00:53] asked christopher christopher what is [01:00:56] love and christopher being a materialist [01:00:59] meaning all he believed that existed [01:01:01] were molecules in motion he had to come [01:01:03] with come up with a materialistic answer [01:01:05] for love so he thought about it for a [01:01:07] minute and he said love is a chemical [01:01:11] and i said to him christopher don't say [01:01:13] that to your wife [01:01:15] honey do you love me yeah [01:01:17] why because i got the chemical [01:01:20] you know today i have it maybe tomorrow [01:01:22] i won't [01:01:23] no love is not a chemical yet you [01:01:25] believe in it because it's part of [01:01:29] the nature of reality it's a immaterial [01:01:33] virtue grounded in the nature of god by [01:01:36] the way here's another thing you you you [01:01:38] believe in you've never seen gravity [01:01:40] oh frank there's gravity right there [01:01:42] right that's the effect yeah you're not [01:01:44] seeing gravity you're seeing what the [01:01:46] effect you're seeing the effect of [01:01:47] gravity you know we don't even know what [01:01:49] gravity is you realize that [01:01:51] you're not seeing gravity you're seeing [01:01:52] the effect of gravity [01:01:54] you've never seen george washington [01:01:58] yet you believe in him why [01:02:01] because he's left effects behind that [01:02:03] are best explained [01:02:05] by a man who lived from 732 1732 to 1799 [01:02:10] he's left effects behind [01:02:13] some of them are behind us right now [01:02:16] that cause you to believe that this man [01:02:18] existed even though you have never seen [01:02:21] him [01:02:22] same thing is true with jesus you you [01:02:24] may you haven't seen jesus physically [01:02:26] but you believe he existed because he's [01:02:28] left effects behind that are best [01:02:30] explained [01:02:31] by the god man known as jesus [01:02:34] who rose from the dead [01:02:36] 1989 years ago [01:02:38] now that's a perfect segue frank so some [01:02:40] people say okay frank i agree with you [01:02:42] but i'm spiritual okay i'm not religious [01:02:45] and this is kind of a new phenomenon [01:02:47] amongst a lot of our nation's young [01:02:48] people that say okay i believe in a god [01:02:51] but i believe in a unitarian god or a [01:02:54] buddhist god and the bible it's full of [01:02:57] inaccuracies and jesus has been debunked [01:03:01] and what evidence is there frank i mean [01:03:03] come on these are old manuscripts and [01:03:06] they were written by people that wanted [01:03:08] it to be true to confirm old testament [01:03:10] prophecy [01:03:12] how could you frank the hyper-rational [01:03:14] person believe in such a thing like that [01:03:15] when people say things like this first [01:03:17] of all there's like eight different [01:03:18] objections in there thank you you're [01:03:20] welcome thank you you have thank you [01:03:22] wokes minutes [01:03:25] you got to narrow it down first thing [01:03:26] you want to ask is when they say [01:03:28] something like this is first of all what [01:03:31] do you mean the bible has been proven [01:03:33] inaccurate what what evidence do you [01:03:35] have that it has they they typically [01:03:38] might say something like i mean come on [01:03:40] you're trying to tell me you'll be [01:03:41] swallowed by a whale sometime soon [01:03:43] they'll take some of the more um let's [01:03:45] say miraculous okay um interventions of [01:03:48] god that you and i believe so you know [01:03:50] so i might ask so you don't believe in [01:03:51] miracles why not [01:03:53] uh because i've never seen such a [01:03:55] miracle is what they would say or they'd [01:03:57] say it defies the laws of nature okay [01:03:59] and then i would ask [01:04:01] um this universe that you're living in [01:04:03] this universe is a miracle do you do you [01:04:05] know that i mean you don't believe in [01:04:07] miracles this universe is a miracle it [01:04:09] exploded into being out of nothing which [01:04:12] is by the way [01:04:13] why when people say they don't believe [01:04:15] in miracles i normally say look around [01:04:16] you're living in one but i also ask them [01:04:18] what is the greatest miracle in the [01:04:20] bible and normally they'll say something [01:04:21] like jonah or noah [01:04:23] or the resurrection and i'll go no the [01:04:26] greatest miracle in the bible is the [01:04:27] first verse [01:04:29] in the beginning god created the heavens [01:04:31] and the earth if that verse is true [01:04:32] ladies and gentlemen every other verse [01:04:34] is at least possible i mean if it's true [01:04:37] that god created the universe out of [01:04:39] nothing can he raise jesus from the dead [01:04:42] can he do the jonah miracle the noah [01:04:44] miracle can he part the red sea can he [01:04:46] turn water into wine these things are [01:04:48] easy if the first verse of the bible is [01:04:50] true well here's the interesting thing [01:04:52] ladies and gentlemen [01:04:53] even atheists are admitting the evidence [01:04:56] for the first verse [01:04:57] they're admitting that space time and [01:04:59] matter had a beginning out of nothing if [01:05:01] space-time and matter had a beginning [01:05:03] out of nothing now they don't think it's [01:05:05] god but what else could it be [01:05:07] it's got to be a spaceless timeless [01:05:08] immaterial powerful personal intelligent [01:05:10] cause as we mentioned earlier if that is [01:05:13] true [01:05:14] every other verse in the bible is at [01:05:16] least possible and when people say well [01:05:18] i haven't seen a miracle i said you [01:05:19] shouldn't expect to see a lot of [01:05:20] miracles if any why because miracles by [01:05:24] definition have to be rare if they're [01:05:25] going to get our attention if miracles [01:05:27] were occurring all the day all the time [01:05:30] we wouldn't consider them miracles we'd [01:05:32] say hey this stuff just happens all the [01:05:34] time [01:05:35] and think about the miracles that do [01:05:36] happen that we take for granted oh yeah [01:05:38] like life or our ability for all of our [01:05:40] organs to work without us having to [01:05:42] consciously think about it right for [01:05:44] your pancreas and your liver and your [01:05:46] heart and breathing while you sleep [01:05:48] these are miracles inexplicable and we [01:05:50] don't we don't even talk about it in [01:05:52] fact it's evidence of that you're [01:05:53] exactly right in fact how many people in [01:05:54] here and every mother should raise your [01:05:56] hand how many people in here have seen [01:05:57] their own flesh and blood born [01:06:00] some of the dads too right now when you [01:06:02] see your own flesh and blood come out of [01:06:04] another human being or yourself you [01:06:06] don't go [01:06:08] evolution [01:06:09] right you go [01:06:11] this is amazing how does this happen [01:06:15] now it happens every day and we don't [01:06:17] call it a miracle but to charlie's point [01:06:19] in fact a biologist ariel roth once said [01:06:23] god never did a miracle to convince an [01:06:25] atheist because his ordinary works [01:06:27] provide sufficient evidence [01:06:30] like birth [01:06:31] child birth but but let me go back to [01:06:34] the point about miracles they have to be [01:06:36] rare imagine if resurrections occurred [01:06:40] routinely what would the resurrection of [01:06:42] christ mean to us [01:06:44] nothing you go to some guy and you go [01:06:46] hey jesus roasting the dead to prove he [01:06:48] was god and the guy goes so what uncle [01:06:50] leroy just rose from the dead two weeks [01:06:52] ago [01:06:53] right [01:06:54] now i got to give the inheritance back [01:06:56] no [01:06:57] it's gotta be a rare event if it's going [01:07:00] to get your attention [01:07:02] so miracles if they first of all let's [01:07:05] clear up one thing [01:07:06] i i believe miracles occur today but [01:07:09] they don't have to occur today for for [01:07:11] christianity to be true there doesn't [01:07:13] have to be one miracle since jesus and [01:07:15] the apostles for christianity to be true [01:07:17] so some atheist says well i got to see a [01:07:19] miracle believe in christianity no you [01:07:20] don't [01:07:22] first of all the universe exploded into [01:07:24] being out of nothing secondly jesus rose [01:07:26] from the dead there's great evidence for [01:07:28] that if those two things are true [01:07:29] christianity is true mark it down [01:07:32] and so frank some of the other [01:07:33] objections i'll try not to put eight in [01:07:35] a box is how can we trust [01:07:38] matthew mark luke and john [01:07:40] is that we're told if it's old it's [01:07:42] unreliable from a historical standpoint [01:07:45] how accurate how exceptional are the [01:07:48] first manuscripts that we have of [01:07:50] matthew mark luke and john well that's [01:07:52] called chronological snobbery that's a [01:07:53] c.s lewis uh [01:07:55] point where he says just because it's [01:07:56] old doesn't mean it's wrong in fact we [01:07:58] got to get back to the old that's what [01:07:59] we're doing here at the dream [01:08:01] dream city church right with the turning [01:08:03] point academy what do you call in the [01:08:04] academy by the way dream city christian [01:08:06] a turning point academy turning point [01:08:08] academy okay we're going back to the [01:08:10] classics ladies and gentlemen right [01:08:13] but look the manuscript evidence is [01:08:16] incredibly strong for the new testament [01:08:19] if you were to take all the manuscripts [01:08:21] we have first for say an ancient greek [01:08:24] writer somebody like josephus and stack [01:08:26] them up they would be about [01:08:28] four feet high if you were to take all [01:08:30] of the [01:08:31] manuscripts for the new testament and [01:08:33] stack them up they would be over a mile [01:08:35] high [01:08:36] because the scribes copied the new [01:08:40] testament and of course the old [01:08:41] testament scribes copy the old testament [01:08:43] the jewish scribes did we know what the [01:08:45] original said there's no real doubt [01:08:47] there the bigger question is how do we [01:08:49] know the originals telling us the truth [01:08:52] that's the more interesting question we [01:08:53] can do with that if you want and just an [01:08:55] interest i want to dive in on one point [01:08:57] that for me was super um [01:09:00] let's just say persuasive [01:09:02] when [01:09:03] when the gospels go through the story of [01:09:07] jesus being you know discovered [01:09:10] post-resurrection who discovers him [01:09:13] and why does this actually validate the [01:09:16] truth of the gospel if you were trying [01:09:18] to create a lie this would be the [01:09:20] dumbest lie you've ever created yeah [01:09:22] this is a great point charlotte we have [01:09:23] it in both books i don't have enough [01:09:24] faith to be an atheist and phenomenal [01:09:26] heroes really good um there's something [01:09:28] known as the principle of embarrassment [01:09:30] it goes like this if there's something [01:09:31] embarrassing to the author or authors [01:09:34] it's probably true why because you're [01:09:36] not going to invent things that make you [01:09:38] look bad you might invent things that [01:09:40] make you look good but not bad in fact [01:09:42] let me ask you guys a question how many [01:09:43] people in here have ever lied to make [01:09:46] yourself look good [01:09:49] if you don't have your hand up right now [01:09:51] you're lying [01:09:52] to make yourself look good [01:09:55] and it's not working we know you're [01:09:56] lying all right how many people in here [01:09:58] have ever lied to make yourself look bad [01:10:01] yeah you don't do that you might lie to [01:10:03] make yourself look good but you don't [01:10:05] lie to make yourself look bad now the [01:10:07] new testament documents and this is true [01:10:08] the old testament as well but the new [01:10:10] testament documents are filled with [01:10:12] embarrassing details they never would [01:10:13] have invented charlie just mentioned one [01:10:15] of them [01:10:16] first of all [01:10:18] the new testament writers depict [01:10:20] themselves as cowards right they run [01:10:23] away at the crucifixion and who are the [01:10:27] brave ones that go down to the tomb and [01:10:29] discover it's empty [01:10:30] the women that's right ladies you can [01:10:33] give yourselves a hand [01:10:34] i am woman hear me roar [01:10:38] now who wrote the new testament [01:10:40] documents down [01:10:42] men [01:10:43] now what man [01:10:46] is going to invent [01:10:48] that he was hiding for fear of the jews [01:10:50] why the women went down and discovered [01:10:52] the empty tomb would any man here invent [01:10:53] that [01:10:54] no if i was inventing it i'd make myself [01:10:56] look good wouldn't you i mean i'd write [01:10:58] down something like this let's see we [01:11:00] marched right down there and we [01:11:01] overpowered that elite roman guard yeah [01:11:03] that sounds good [01:11:05] john said [01:11:06] get out [01:11:08] peter roundhouse kicked him [01:11:11] thomas said we'll be back [01:11:15] no doubt and then on sunday morning we [01:11:17] march right down to the tomb [01:11:19] and we saw jesus who congratulates [01:11:21] congratulated us on our great faith and [01:11:23] then we went and comforted the trembling [01:11:26] women right [01:11:27] i would never say i was mr sissypants [01:11:30] why the women went down discovered the [01:11:31] empty tomb and what charlie's pointing [01:11:34] out is [01:11:36] in that culture a woman's testimony was [01:11:38] not considered on par with that of a man [01:11:41] so if you're making up the new testament [01:11:43] story you'd only have the men be the [01:11:45] first witnesses [01:11:47] but all four gospels say the women were [01:11:50] the first witnesses which is telling us [01:11:52] what they really were as embarrassing as [01:11:56] it was to the men and how it didn't help [01:11:58] their case at all in fact one of the [01:12:00] women was a formerly demon possessed [01:12:02] women woman oh gee what a great witness [01:12:05] huh she's very credible [01:12:07] they're not making this up in fact i had [01:12:09] a lady want to come up to me once [01:12:10] charlie she said frank i know why jesus [01:12:12] appeared to the women first i said why [01:12:14] and she said [01:12:15] because he wanted to get the story out [01:12:22] i said that is an excellent point [01:12:25] i had not thought of that because ladies [01:12:27] when your man comes home from work does [01:12:28] he say much [01:12:31] there could have been a nuclear [01:12:32] explosion down at the plant [01:12:34] he's not going to tell you [01:12:36] you'll see it on the news before you [01:12:38] hear it from him [01:12:40] you'll be watching the news going [01:12:42] hey [01:12:42] oh yeah i forgot to tell you [01:12:45] the nuke blew up [01:12:47] i've been hot for three days [01:12:50] what's for dinner he's not gonna tell [01:12:52] you [01:12:53] there's tons of this stuff embarrassing [01:12:55] stuff they never would have invented [01:12:57] they're not making it up and so it has [01:12:59] to be true because it also from it took [01:13:02] several women for even to be considered [01:13:04] to be true in a court of law and so it [01:13:06] actually shows the um authenticity of [01:13:10] the gospels so we don't have a lot of [01:13:11] time before we go to question and answer [01:13:13] but another objection frank and i'll [01:13:15] just throw two or three at you is that [01:13:17] maybe jesus was never actually killed [01:13:19] that he was still alive when he was put [01:13:21] in the tomb or the second one his body [01:13:23] was stolen by his believers or the third [01:13:26] one is that this was kind of a vast [01:13:28] conspiracy right so [01:13:31] i know that's a lot but let's deal with [01:13:33] the conspiracy first [01:13:35] in fact it was justice antonin scalia [01:13:37] who in one opinion said this we all know [01:13:39] that the bumbling apologists or the [01:13:41] evangelists these are the people that [01:13:43] wrote down the new testament invented [01:13:45] the resurrection story in a sinister [01:13:47] in a sinister attempt to get themselves [01:13:49] all martyred i mean like why would you [01:13:51] invent a story [01:13:53] that's going to get you killed if it's [01:13:55] not true [01:13:56] it makes no sense at all first of all [01:13:59] the empty tomb [01:14:00] was empty because jesus came out of it [01:14:03] it wasn't because his disciples stole [01:14:04] the body why would they steal the body [01:14:06] and then say he had risen from the dead [01:14:08] again to get themselves kicked out of [01:14:10] the synagogue and then beaten tortured [01:14:11] and killed that doesn't make any sense [01:14:14] there were roman guards on duty and by [01:14:16] the way do you know that you know what [01:14:17] their their explanation was for why the [01:14:20] tomb was empty [01:14:21] it was the disciples came and stole the [01:14:23] body while the guards were asleep now if [01:14:25] you think about that for more than five [01:14:26] seconds you realize how stupid that is [01:14:29] number one [01:14:30] if you're a roman guard on duty and you [01:14:32] fall asleep on watch what happens to you [01:14:35] you're executed number two if you're a [01:14:37] roman guard on duty and you fall asleep [01:14:40] how do you know what happened [01:14:44] what happened well we were asleep see [01:14:46] and while we were sleeping we noticed [01:14:48] that the disciples came right down here [01:14:50] and no that doesn't make any sense at [01:14:53] all and number three why steal the body [01:14:56] to get to get yourselves killed in fact [01:14:57] here's a really important point we need [01:14:59] to make [01:15:00] a lot of people say well there are any [01:15:02] non-christian writers who talk about [01:15:03] jesus and the apostles there are i don't [01:15:05] have time to get into it now it's all in [01:15:07] the book but you know what the question [01:15:09] implicitly assumes quite frequently is [01:15:12] that you really can't trust the new [01:15:13] testament writers because you know the [01:15:14] new testament writers were biased [01:15:17] because you see they were believers you [01:15:19] only got to look at the non-christian [01:15:21] writers to really know what the truth is [01:15:23] think about that ladies and gentlemen [01:15:25] that is silly why what did the new [01:15:28] testament writers who were all jews by [01:15:30] the way with the exception of luke luke [01:15:32] is the only gentile all the writers of [01:15:35] the new testament are jewish believers [01:15:37] in yahweh who thought they were god's [01:15:39] chosen people why would they invent the [01:15:42] resurrection story a story they didn't [01:15:44] believe could be true because they [01:15:46] didn't believe a man could claim to be [01:15:48] god that would be blasphemy and they [01:15:49] didn't believe someone could resurrect [01:15:51] in the middle of time they knew we would [01:15:54] all resurrect at the end of time [01:15:55] according to daniel 12 these are things [01:15:57] they didn't believe why would they say [01:16:00] jesus rose from the dead [01:16:04] and claimed to be god if [01:16:07] he didn't rise from the dead and didn't [01:16:08] claim to be god what did they get out of [01:16:10] this [01:16:11] you know a friend of mine a mutual [01:16:12] friend you may know jay warner wallace [01:16:14] he's a cold case homicide detective he's [01:16:16] been on dateline more than any other [01:16:18] homicide detective because he solves [01:16:20] murders decades old he's also written a [01:16:23] book called cold case christianity where [01:16:25] he applies his homicide skills to the [01:16:27] greatest homicide of all time the [01:16:29] homicide of jesus anyway he says when he [01:16:31] finds a murdered body he says there's [01:16:33] only three reasons why that guy's dead [01:16:36] not a thousand reasons [01:16:38] just three or a combination of these [01:16:39] three there was either a sex issue a [01:16:42] money issue or a power issue [01:16:45] sex money and power are the three things [01:16:47] that can motivate people to murder in [01:16:49] fact they're the same three things that [01:16:51] cause any of us to sin why sex money and [01:16:53] power are great things but they're so [01:16:55] great that sometimes we'll take [01:16:56] shortcuts to get them [01:16:58] and so [01:17:00] jim says if you're gonna say these [01:17:02] writers made it up you gotta find one of [01:17:04] those three motivators so let's look at [01:17:06] the new testament writers for a minute [01:17:08] ladies and gentlemen [01:17:09] did the new testament writers the [01:17:11] apostles get real popular with the [01:17:13] ladies [01:17:14] for saying jesus had resurrected from [01:17:16] the dead no they didn't get sex did they [01:17:19] get money [01:17:21] no they weren't on tv asking for money [01:17:24] did they get power [01:17:26] no they got persecuted paul had power [01:17:28] when he was in a a pharisee persecuting [01:17:31] the church as soon as he becomes a [01:17:33] believer he's persecuted they didn't get [01:17:36] sex they didn't get money they didn't [01:17:38] get power why did they say it was true [01:17:41] because it really happened [01:17:43] in fact this is going to sound really [01:17:45] weird [01:17:46] stick with me i believe the bible's [01:17:47] inerrant and i know you probably do too [01:17:49] but this is going to sound almost [01:17:51] heretical it's not stick with me [01:17:54] christianity is not true because a [01:17:56] series of documents we put under one [01:17:59] binding we call the bible says it's true [01:18:02] in fact christianity would be true if [01:18:04] the bible never existed [01:18:08] you go how can that be ladies and [01:18:10] gentlemen do you realize there were [01:18:11] thousands of christians before a line of [01:18:13] the new testament was ever written [01:18:16] why because they witnessed the [01:18:18] resurrected jesus they wrote it down [01:18:20] later [01:18:21] in other words christianity did not [01:18:23] originate with a book christianity [01:18:26] originated with an event the [01:18:28] resurrection [01:18:29] and then as a result of the resurrection [01:18:32] these guys who were jews wrote it down [01:18:34] and went to their death saying it was [01:18:36] true [01:18:37] in fact you could put it this way the [01:18:39] new testament writers did not create the [01:18:41] resurrection the resurrection created [01:18:43] the new testament writers [01:18:47] it's well said [01:18:49] so in closing here frank before we get [01:18:51] to some questions here can we talk about [01:18:54] some of the implications that the kind [01:18:57] of death of god as nietzsche would put [01:18:58] it have politically especially um you've [01:19:01] written and spoken openly about [01:19:03] socialism about totalitarianism can you [01:19:06] talk about how important it is that we [01:19:09] frame this in a biblical context as we [01:19:11] then get some questions and answers [01:19:14] a lot of times and as a result of the [01:19:16] roe v wade decision people are going to [01:19:17] say this this is not a theocracy [01:19:20] you can't impose your religion on people [01:19:23] let me point one thing out we're not [01:19:24] imposing religion [01:19:26] we're not legislating religion we're not [01:19:28] telling people where when how or if to [01:19:30] worship we're not telling people they [01:19:32] have to be part of a church or they have [01:19:33] to believe in certain things about god [01:19:36] we're not trying to legislate religion [01:19:38] we are trying to legislate morality and [01:19:40] all laws legislate morality every law [01:19:43] declares one behavior right and the [01:19:44] opposite behavior wrong in fact the [01:19:46] people who say they have a right to an [01:19:47] abortion that's a moral position [01:19:50] they're trying to put that into law to [01:19:52] say a woman has an absolute right to [01:19:54] basically kill her child i think what we [01:19:56] ought to start saying here charlie is [01:19:58] this [01:19:59] on this whole abortion issue if your [01:20:01] solution to your problem is a dead baby [01:20:04] you have the wrong solution [01:20:06] that's the shortest way you can say it [01:20:09] there is never a solution if it requires [01:20:12] a dead baby that's not a solution [01:20:16] so we're not trying to legislate [01:20:18] religion we are trying to legislate [01:20:20] morality and all laws legislate morality [01:20:22] 25 years ago dr geisler and i wrote a [01:20:24] book called legislating morality that's [01:20:26] what it's all about and one of the most [01:20:28] articulate defenders of the moral point [01:20:31] of view [01:20:32] without having to say you have to be a [01:20:34] believer is sitting right next to me [01:20:36] he does this every day on the air around [01:20:39] college campuses around churches [01:20:42] and so [01:20:44] i'm privileged to be here [01:20:46] at this event and i want you guys to [01:20:48] continue to support charlie because the [01:20:50] work he does is so important but to go [01:20:52] to the core your question if we lose [01:20:55] self-evident truths grounded in our [01:20:57] creator [01:20:58] there's only two ways to govern you can [01:21:01] govern by the truth by principle or you [01:21:04] can govern by power [01:21:06] and if you notice [01:21:08] the left is governing purely by power [01:21:11] it's not principle it's power we will [01:21:15] shut you up because we don't want to [01:21:17] hear your principles we don't want to [01:21:19] hear your truth we don't want to have a [01:21:21] debate we want to cancel the debate and [01:21:24] just impose our will on you [01:21:26] you notice [01:21:28] that they don't want to debate they [01:21:29] don't want to really defend their view [01:21:32] they just want to impose their view [01:21:34] because they can't defend their view [01:21:36] without god without self-evident truths [01:21:40] there's no way to say you have a right [01:21:42] to anything everything's just a matter [01:21:44] of opinion so what are they going to do [01:21:45] they're going to pose their opinions on [01:21:46] you using power isn't frank great by the [01:21:49] way super it's credible [01:21:51] so let's start lining up for some [01:21:52] questions everybody if we can [01:21:55] i want to just plug the books again for [01:21:57] the live stream it's i don't have enough [01:21:59] faith to be an atheist which is just [01:22:01] phenomenal and it goes into just some [01:22:03] info just terrific detail about the [01:22:05] resurrection about the bible and about [01:22:08] any questions you might have about [01:22:09] christianity and then frank's new book [01:22:12] called hollywood heroes [01:22:14] which is how your favorite movies reveal [01:22:16] god we're going to be doing a whole um [01:22:18] thing together on that so if you guys [01:22:20] want to line up in these two aisles here [01:22:22] for any questions and do we have a first [01:22:25] taker in either the lines i think we've [01:22:27] answered everything by the way the books [01:22:28] are available on the book table and i [01:22:30] want you guys to know that all the [01:22:31] proceeds from the sale of the books will [01:22:33] go to feed needy children [01:22:35] mine okay just so you know okay [01:22:38] that's very funny all right we'll start [01:22:40] here [01:22:42] all right [01:22:42] um my name is sarah so i am the [01:22:44] children's pastor here at dream city [01:22:46] church and you touched on something [01:22:49] earlier um you talked about how our our [01:22:53] um some of the stories in the bible like [01:22:56] jonah and the well and different stories [01:22:58] and miracles that happened in the bible [01:23:00] and how [01:23:02] people [01:23:02] say they don't believe in god because [01:23:04] how could these things have really [01:23:06] happened right and we've heard that in [01:23:08] in kids ministry several years ago we [01:23:10] had kids that were saying [01:23:13] these are not true stories these are [01:23:15] make believe so now we start out by [01:23:17] saying [01:23:18] this is true this is god's word god's [01:23:20] word is true but my question is [01:23:24] and i hope that there's a lot of other [01:23:25] pastors and and leaders listening today [01:23:28] but my question is why is it so [01:23:30] important that we [01:23:33] um that we teach the truth that we [01:23:35] communicate correctly to our kids at an [01:23:38] early age that the bible is true [01:23:42] i think we want to show them why it's [01:23:43] true not just claim it's true because [01:23:46] then they get to those stories and they [01:23:48] say well i haven't seen this as charlie [01:23:50] said earlier or this seems outlandish to [01:23:53] me [01:23:53] look why do i believe that jonah [01:23:56] the story of joan is true and the story [01:23:58] of noah is true because jesus believed [01:24:00] it was true and i just have a personal [01:24:03] policy yeah he mentioned it applied it [01:24:05] to his own life i just have a personal [01:24:06] policy if somebody predicts and [01:24:08] accomplishes his own resurrection from [01:24:10] the dead i just trust whatever the guy [01:24:12] says [01:24:13] okay [01:24:14] so it's on jesus's authority that i [01:24:16] believe the bible's an aaron it's not [01:24:18] just because i can answer every possible [01:24:20] objection although many of them we can [01:24:23] answer [01:24:24] but it's because jesus [01:24:26] said the entire old testament was the [01:24:28] word of god and he promised the new [01:24:30] testament so it's on jesus authority [01:24:32] look the whole thing is contingent on [01:24:34] jesus rising from the dead if he's risen [01:24:36] from the dead [01:24:38] christianity is true if he hasn't risen [01:24:40] from the dead we're wasting our time [01:24:42] here today as the apostle paul actually [01:24:44] said in first corinthians 15 he says if [01:24:47] jesus hasn't risen from the dead your [01:24:48] faith is in vain so we teach evidence [01:24:51] that christianity is true and on jesus [01:24:54] authority we say the bible is an errand [01:24:56] yeah and i'll i'll kind of piggyback on [01:24:58] that for it depends how young they are i [01:25:00] mean seven eight nine year olds i can't [01:25:03] imagine you're getting super critical [01:25:05] backlash that would be something new um [01:25:08] but [01:25:09] someone should talk to them about some [01:25:10] things they believe around christmas too [01:25:12] but that's a separate issue but um [01:25:14] but yeah i [01:25:16] i will say this that for me personally [01:25:18] the more i learned about biology and [01:25:20] physics the actually the more it [01:25:22] strengthened my faith [01:25:24] when you really dive deep into how [01:25:27] complexly made we are it is the most [01:25:30] patently insane improbable argument to [01:25:33] say there was not an intelligent [01:25:34] designer behind it it just how our [01:25:37] systems work together from the brain [01:25:40] itself to our conscious and unconscious [01:25:42] mind it's just it goes on and on and on [01:25:44] and so look i'm not professing to say [01:25:47] how to communicate that to a seven eight [01:25:48] or nine year old but what frank is [01:25:50] saying is totally true which is laying [01:25:52] the framework and the foundation is hey [01:25:54] human beings what you're looking at this [01:25:56] is a miracle [01:25:57] this is way more incredible than going [01:26:00] into a whale you're talking about an [01:26:02] autonomous being that has consciousness [01:26:05] agency the ability to reason you don't [01:26:07] have to think about any of the natural [01:26:09] things you have to do digestion [01:26:12] breathing [01:26:13] blood flow do you have to think to have [01:26:15] your heart beat no it just happens [01:26:16] automatically those systems built [01:26:18] together to say that came through a roll [01:26:20] of the dice or an accident it's it's [01:26:23] it's not even illogical you're living on [01:26:25] a different planet and so you just look [01:26:28] at the human being [01:26:29] and you say whoa [01:26:31] if that can be designed yes the red sea [01:26:33] can be parted yes water can be walked on [01:26:37] yes disease can be cured because this in [01:26:39] my personal opinion is the great miracle [01:26:42] that is standing right in front of us [01:26:43] that we're choosing to ignore [01:26:45] yes thank you thank you [01:26:52] hi thank you [01:26:54] for everything um but my question a [01:26:56] friend of mine today said that she was [01:26:58] talking to a five-year-old i think it [01:27:00] was a grandchild [01:27:02] and said something about jesus and the [01:27:05] little girl said who's jesus [01:27:07] and she was floored so that and then [01:27:12] there's a lot of people that are [01:27:13] grandparents not me thank god but their [01:27:16] kids don't believe in jesus and they [01:27:19] don't know how to talk to their [01:27:21] grandkids about jesus or can you talk to [01:27:24] that [01:27:25] yeah that's [01:27:27] a really difficult problem as a [01:27:29] grandparent if you're trying to educate [01:27:31] your grandchildren and the parents [01:27:33] aren't interested [01:27:34] in your [01:27:36] beliefs [01:27:37] being shared with them that's a hard [01:27:39] really hard problem [01:27:41] i might want to talk more to the parents [01:27:43] and ask them [01:27:45] i'm reminded what c.s lewis famously [01:27:46] said c.s lewis said [01:27:48] christianity is either the most [01:27:51] important fact in the universe [01:27:53] or it's irrelevant one thing it can't be [01:27:56] as moderately important [01:27:58] look think about that if christianity is [01:28:00] true if jesus really rose from the dead [01:28:01] and by trusting in him your sins can be [01:28:04] forgiven and you can be in eternity with [01:28:06] him and your loved ones who have also [01:28:08] trusted in christ if that really is true [01:28:12] then what could be more important than [01:28:13] eternity right if it's not true it's [01:28:16] irrelevant so i always ask people if it [01:28:19] were true would you become a christian [01:28:21] and i would ask that of my i've asked [01:28:23] out of my own kids obviously they are [01:28:24] christians but you get the idea [01:28:26] uh and it's [01:28:28] this idea that you're gonna let your [01:28:30] kids make up their own minds first of [01:28:31] all kids are gonna make up their own [01:28:33] minds anyway but you have to guide them [01:28:35] if you don't guide them guesses guess [01:28:37] what's gonna guide them [01:28:39] this glowing rectangle that we all have [01:28:42] do you realize that i i know we have a [01:28:45] big problem of fatherless homes in [01:28:47] america but even homes with fathers in [01:28:49] them [01:28:51] that an average teenage boy [01:28:54] will in a week spend 30 minutes in [01:28:58] meaningful conversation with his father [01:29:01] while he spends 44 hours watching tv [01:29:04] surfing the internet or playing video [01:29:06] games [01:29:08] gee which is going to have more [01:29:09] influence [01:29:11] so we're going to have to make a [01:29:12] concerted effort to reach our kids and [01:29:14] then our grandkids as well we have [01:29:17] resources on our website [01:29:18] crossexamine.org that can help you do [01:29:20] that tp usa faith has resources as well [01:29:23] this school right here the dream city [01:29:25] school has resources so use those [01:29:27] resources to try and reach them young [01:29:29] and i'll just kind of say one or two [01:29:31] things on top of that which is really [01:29:33] important [01:29:34] what is education so [01:29:36] education comes from a latin word which [01:29:39] means to lead forth lead forth into [01:29:41] truth [01:29:42] the way we educate young people today [01:29:44] and dream city christian attorney point [01:29:46] academy is going to be the exception to [01:29:48] this [01:29:49] is we some we kind of democratize the [01:29:52] education where we ask eight-year-olds [01:29:55] or ten-year-olds or even 12 years 15 [01:29:56] year olds what do you feel about this a [01:29:59] completely irrelevant question by the [01:30:01] way and many of you have heard me say [01:30:02] this before it it does not matter what a [01:30:05] young person thinks about anything what [01:30:07] matters is is it true [01:30:10] what matters is what is beautiful what [01:30:12] is good now some of you might say well [01:30:14] charlie that's rather insensitive [01:30:16] if you extrapolate [01:30:18] does what does an eight-year-old feel [01:30:20] then yes you're gonna have a bunch of [01:30:21] men who think they're women by the time [01:30:23] they're 14. [01:30:24] if your feelings are the most important [01:30:26] thing then you will lie yourself into [01:30:28] oblivion now you see this in a lot of [01:30:32] kind of the mental health issues as well [01:30:34] where people say well i feel depressed [01:30:37] i feel a certain whether they might have [01:30:38] a chemical imbalance but i believe [01:30:41] personally 95 of those issues are [01:30:44] misdiagnosed as [01:30:46] complete let me just put it this way um [01:30:49] lifestyle choices that completely throw [01:30:52] off dopamine [01:30:53] serotonin reward and ways that young [01:30:56] people have no idea how to navigate [01:30:58] reward and risk and their place or [01:31:00] purpose and so [01:31:03] you know i i've done a real deep dive in [01:31:05] this in the last couple weeks i was [01:31:06] fascinated by this because we get a lot [01:31:08] of emails freedom at charlie kirk.com [01:31:10] thousands of emails a day and there's [01:31:12] been this massive uptick in the last [01:31:14] couple of weeks of people that say [01:31:16] charlie my kids are depressed my [01:31:17] grandkids are depressed they're anxious [01:31:20] and i said there's there's got to be i [01:31:22] think there's a spiritual dimension of [01:31:23] course to this obviously but there has [01:31:26] to be something that is just kind of [01:31:28] chemically that we're missing here and [01:31:30] if you just do just an hour long just [01:31:33] study on dopamine and how god gave us [01:31:35] dopamine as a reward chemical it makes [01:31:38] perfect sense why these 14 15 and 16 [01:31:40] year olds are depressed and basically [01:31:43] dopamine is a reward chemical that is [01:31:45] supposed to incentivize you to push [01:31:46] harder and work harder and you get it [01:31:48] when you have chocolate you can get it [01:31:51] released when you have coke you know [01:31:52] take cocaine or amphetamines or you pay [01:31:55] play highly addictive video games or [01:31:58] pornography or you live in a fantasy [01:32:00] land of kind of social media where 14 [01:32:03] and 15 and 16 year old they their [01:32:06] baseline of where dopamine gets released [01:32:08] in their brain will be so altered that [01:32:11] they think they're living in a depressed [01:32:13] state [01:32:14] and you could see this in the in literal [01:32:17] meth addicts and cocaine addicts [01:32:20] they feel that they there there is no [01:32:22] meaning there is no purpose and you read [01:32:24] the literature of what these 16 and 17 [01:32:26] and 18 year olds are saying it is [01:32:28] identical to a brain that has been burnt [01:32:30] out on drugs by the time they're 30. it [01:32:32] makes you think what exactly are we [01:32:34] doing here we're handing them these [01:32:36] digital pacifiers [01:32:38] not realizing their entire brain their [01:32:40] risk reward and their purpose vehicles [01:32:42] will be completely and totally burnt out [01:32:44] and so and and i [01:32:46] so that's just that's just one other [01:32:48] thing i know it's a little bit of a [01:32:49] sidetrack on that but i just had it in [01:32:50] my heart to share with you guys for [01:32:52] just some of the audience response we've [01:32:54] had and then look the final thing is be [01:32:56] a disagreeable grandmother to for all of [01:32:58] you out there um [01:33:00] play to win those are your grandkids you [01:33:03] know offend your kids who cares you know [01:33:05] if your kids went off the beaten path no [01:33:08] i mean this grandparents can save a [01:33:10] kid's life i mean this a gr grandparents [01:33:13] can save a grandkid's life and so you [01:33:15] always you could be the sweet one give [01:33:17] candy away and all that stuff but [01:33:19] profess truth and guess what when the [01:33:21] chips are down [01:33:23] and they need some advice they're going [01:33:25] to come to grandma's house or grandpa's [01:33:27] house not their parents house not that [01:33:29] you want that but all of a sudden it's [01:33:31] like hey you know i have to make a [01:33:32] decision whether or not to go away for [01:33:34] the weekend of this party up an hour and [01:33:35] a half north what do you think i should [01:33:37] do my parents think it's fine [01:33:39] and but there's there's a check in their [01:33:41] spirit and they come to see grandpa or [01:33:43] grandma so don't be ever absent and be [01:33:46] disagreeable if your kids are teaching [01:33:48] total garbage and always preach the [01:33:50] truth my grandma would have said can i [01:33:51] go [01:33:53] that's right exactly god bless you thank [01:33:55] you so much [01:33:58] and by the way if there's a question on [01:33:59] this side we also have a line if you [01:34:00] guys have one so we'll go here [01:34:03] hi there uh you might remember i was [01:34:05] here a couple months ago uh victor marks [01:34:07] prayed for me i'm back on track with god [01:34:08] thank jesus praise god that's amazing [01:34:12] and um we're gonna have victor mark's [01:34:13] back by the way wasn't victor great he [01:34:15] says [01:34:17] and um with all that god gave me my [01:34:19] calling and he wants me to go and teach [01:34:21] in secondary education and so when i [01:34:24] signed up with gcu [01:34:26] one of the classes that i have to take [01:34:28] is [01:34:31] social justice for educators and i was [01:34:34] wondering if either of you had any kind [01:34:36] of advice for dealing with this at gcu [01:34:39] at gcu yeah that doesn't surprise me [01:34:41] unfortunately gcu's gone off the [01:34:43] reservation a long time ago so yeah um [01:34:46] so social justice um is is something [01:34:49] that [01:34:51] let me put it this way it is you could [01:34:53] say a trojan horse a wolf in sheep's [01:34:54] clothing all this sort of stuff [01:34:56] look social justice there's only justice [01:34:59] to god there's not environmental justice [01:35:01] there's not racial justice there's not [01:35:02] social justice there's not gender [01:35:04] justice here's what they view the world [01:35:06] through though they view the world [01:35:07] through a prism of oppressor and [01:35:08] oppressed [01:35:09] right so all throughout social justice [01:35:11] and education they're going to be [01:35:13] teaching you unbiblical woke terms such [01:35:15] as diversity equity inclusion right [01:35:17] they're going to be teaching you um this [01:35:20] idea of white privilege i'm sure will be [01:35:21] laced throughout have you started the [01:35:23] class yet or [01:35:24] uh september it starts it's in september [01:35:26] yeah if only hillsdale was able to [01:35:29] educate every single one of our our [01:35:31] you know future educators so [01:35:35] oh yeah come to dream city come to dream [01:35:37] city christian and by the way i mean [01:35:38] there's some wonderful things that are [01:35:39] happening at gcu i don't mean to offend [01:35:41] anybody but the amount of stories of [01:35:42] what has happened at gcu of how woke [01:35:44] they've become i'm honestly tired of [01:35:46] them getting a hall pass like everyone [01:35:47] plays nice with gcu they're super woke [01:35:49] just be honest about it okay um i hope [01:35:51] they improve i hope things get better [01:35:53] but they've gone off the reservation a [01:35:55] long time ago i really hope it gets back [01:35:57] on you know there's something you can do [01:35:58] if you get in the class you have to take [01:36:00] the classes just ask questions and the [01:36:02] three questions you ought to ask [01:36:04] are questions you can use for almost any [01:36:06] issue the first question is what do you [01:36:07] mean by that so as they say social [01:36:09] justice what do you mean by social [01:36:11] justice can you define those terms for [01:36:13] me [01:36:14] second question how did you come to that [01:36:16] conclusion [01:36:17] in other words why do you think this is [01:36:19] a good thing and a right thing and a [01:36:21] true thing what evidence do you have for [01:36:23] that and then the third question is an [01:36:25] opportunity for you to provide some [01:36:27] evidence back such as have you ever [01:36:29] considered that there really isn't [01:36:31] social justice or racial justice or [01:36:34] gender justice there's just justice [01:36:37] okay so those three questions by the way [01:36:39] we have an app the cross exam adapt two [01:36:41] words in the app store we have those [01:36:43] questions [01:36:44] and the question i mentioned earlier too [01:36:46] uh if christianity were true would you [01:36:48] become a christian [01:36:49] it's easier to ask questions it's hard [01:36:51] to answer them and if you ask enough [01:36:54] questions [01:36:55] you're going to be able to drill down on [01:36:57] the other person to the point that [01:36:58] they're not going to be able [01:37:00] to support their position [01:37:02] because there really isn't intellectual [01:37:04] justification for their position so [01:37:06] always ask questions what do you mean by [01:37:08] that how did you come to that conclusion [01:37:09] have you ever considered by the way [01:37:11] parents these are questions you can use [01:37:13] for anything not just christianity or or [01:37:16] or politics i mean you can use it with [01:37:18] your kids like for example your your son [01:37:20] calls you one night and says dad i'm not [01:37:22] going to be home by 11 like you wanted [01:37:23] me to don't panic [01:37:25] how do i just first question what do you [01:37:27] mean by that [01:37:28] second question how'd you come to that [01:37:30] conclusion [01:37:32] third question have you ever considered [01:37:34] if you're not home by 11 you're grounded [01:37:35] for two weeks [01:37:36] be right home dad by the way husbands [01:37:38] husbands husbands never ever ever use [01:37:41] these questions on your wife [01:37:44] because if she calls you an idiot [01:37:46] don't say what do you mean by that you [01:37:48] know how did you come to that conclusion [01:37:51] because my wife's going to have a list [01:37:52] 36 years long all right [01:37:55] and look the bible is very clear in [01:37:57] leviticus i believe it says that in [01:37:59] dealings of justice you do not favor the [01:38:01] poor men or you do not penalize the rich [01:38:03] man justice is blind our idea of justice [01:38:06] derived from the bible is and that's [01:38:08] literally why lady justice is blind uh [01:38:10] in our court proceedings it's blind to [01:38:12] the rich man blind to the poor man [01:38:15] and so in dealings this is a biblical [01:38:16] principle of all being equal under god [01:38:19] inequality under the divine idea of [01:38:21] social justice again [01:38:23] there might be very good people that [01:38:24] mean like well we're going to help the [01:38:26] poor and all of that let's stop being [01:38:28] naive everybody okay the two word social [01:38:30] justice every single time it is uttered [01:38:32] is being used by revolutionaries to try [01:38:34] to bring marxism post-modernism [01:38:36] secularism critical race theory into our [01:38:38] classrooms like we don't have to [01:38:39] tolerate this anymore okay [01:38:41] instead what we should talk about is the [01:38:44] western idea of equality under the law [01:38:46] right instead of dividing people into [01:38:48] these little sub-brackets which again [01:38:50] i'm a little bit conjecturing here but [01:38:52] i've heard about the social justice and [01:38:53] education courses well you must treat [01:38:55] your black kids differently than your [01:38:56] white kids wow that sounds like racism [01:38:58] in education actually not social justice [01:39:00] and education how about treating [01:39:01] everybody as human beings made in the [01:39:03] image of god as image bearers and not [01:39:04] karen [01:39:05] caring at all about the melanin content [01:39:07] in their skin [01:39:08] and the the best way to to quote unquote [01:39:12] be just is to challenge people [01:39:15] regardless how they look and say that i [01:39:17] believe that god has a future for you [01:39:19] and a prosperity for you and i'm not [01:39:21] going to subdivide you in different [01:39:22] brackets or different buckets america at [01:39:24] its best was always trying to achieve [01:39:26] that type of nation and those sort of [01:39:28] narratives and those sort of classes [01:39:30] unfortunately seek to unravel it god [01:39:32] bless you thanks for being here thank [01:39:33] you [01:39:35] this will be the final question [01:39:37] unless there's one more over there yes [01:39:39] frank how old are you [01:39:43] how old am i [01:39:45] what do you mean by that yeah [01:39:48] good question [01:39:50] well [01:39:51] let me put it this way when i turned 50 [01:39:52] my wife said you're going to live to be [01:39:54] a hundred i said how do you know she [01:39:55] said because you look half dead already [01:39:59] i'm 60. [01:40:01] i'm 16 68 and a half [01:40:03] frank looking back over your life [01:40:06] to give you some perspective [01:40:08] where do you think we're going to be in [01:40:10] five years [01:40:11] or 10 years [01:40:13] as a nation [01:40:16] i i i'm not a prophet i don't know it [01:40:19] depends on whether well charlie you [01:40:21] would pick this up here because i heard [01:40:23] you talking about this the other night [01:40:24] that we may have turned a corner charlie [01:40:26] yeah so [01:40:27] i'm if you're asking about the nation [01:40:29] kind of right as the country i i think [01:40:31] that [01:40:33] it's impossible to know and that should [01:40:35] be very comforting [01:40:36] so i do a lot of traveling i do a lot of [01:40:38] speaking i did 330 speaking events last [01:40:41] year all across the country [01:40:43] on the road non-stop and [01:40:46] thank you um [01:40:47] no you should be applauding my wife [01:40:49] that's who you should be applauding by [01:40:50] the way erica and here's what i'll say [01:40:53] is that [01:40:55] there is a i believe an unclean spirit [01:40:59] that sometimes comes into conservative [01:41:01] grassroots patriot circles [01:41:03] as if they've got it all figured out and [01:41:05] that this ship is going down [01:41:07] and it really doesn't matter they're [01:41:09] like yeah i'll vote [01:41:10] i'll show up but i kind of say oh [01:41:12] charlie come on you've studied the [01:41:14] romans you've studied the other empires [01:41:16] we're done [01:41:17] and i think that is very dangerous in [01:41:19] fact i think it's wrong i think it's [01:41:21] unbiblical i think that we must reject [01:41:24] that totally and completely and i'll [01:41:26] give you a couple reasons why as long as [01:41:28] you [01:41:29] and i have agency free will and choice [01:41:33] i'm not going to put up with that sort [01:41:35] of premise it's not going to so i'm [01:41:36] going to do everything i possibly can [01:41:38] number two [01:41:40] is that there's never been a nation like [01:41:42] america period [01:41:43] and so therefore any sort of the kind of [01:41:46] projections or predictions it's [01:41:49] impossible to know how a self-governing [01:41:52] nation will fall you might be able to [01:41:54] guess but you have zero roadmap to show [01:41:57] that period don't don't lecture me about [01:41:59] ancient greece or about the roman and or [01:42:02] the roman republic it pales in [01:42:03] comparison to the experiment in liberty [01:42:06] we have right now so there's a lot that [01:42:08] we don't know what we do know is this [01:42:10] though when you have even a little bit [01:42:12] of liberty it gives you a great chance [01:42:14] to then reclaim it a little bit so if we [01:42:17] still have speech we still have the [01:42:18] ability to assemble and spread ideas i [01:42:21] think that a revival is not just you [01:42:24] know likely i think it's inevitable we [01:42:26] have too many courageous awesome people [01:42:28] that are speaking truth right now and [01:42:30] finally stepping up i believe we're [01:42:32] going to turn that corner i really do [01:42:35] i believe that those of us that are [01:42:37] christians and conservative or whatever [01:42:39] label you want to put on it right not on [01:42:41] the other side whatever that is that are [01:42:43] that are building things and doing [01:42:44] things i see great hope and optimism am [01:42:47] i being foolishly optimistic no i could [01:42:49] go on for an hour of what we're up [01:42:51] against right they control the fbi they [01:42:53] control the cia they control academia [01:42:56] they control big media okay genesis 11 [01:42:58] you try to build superstructures up [01:43:00] against god god will scatter you into [01:43:02] confusion and not take that well but god [01:43:04] will always reward the courageous and [01:43:06] the righteous so to answer your question [01:43:09] if i told you i'm super optimistic about [01:43:11] the future of america i said you know [01:43:12] what we got this thing in the bag many [01:43:14] of you would go home and you'd say hey i [01:43:16] don't have to work i don't have to vote [01:43:18] because charlie says we have it in the [01:43:19] bag [01:43:20] if i said hey i'm super pessimistic [01:43:22] about the future of america you'd go [01:43:24] home and say that's it i'm done [01:43:26] i'm just going to keep buying those [01:43:27] pillows and that will be my contribution [01:43:30] [Applause] [01:43:32] i will sleep well through the revolution [01:43:36] and no back pain thanks to relief factor [01:43:39] right [01:43:43] no the answer is [01:43:45] we don't know and i think that's the [01:43:47] most empowering thing but here's what i [01:43:48] can say the trajectory is good [01:43:51] for those of us that for as far as where [01:43:53] the grassroots is i think we're going to [01:43:55] be up against the big getting crushed in [01:43:57] the next five years i think the theme [01:43:59] we're about to see i think you're about [01:44:00] to see big government be scattered at a [01:44:02] confusion big media gets scattered into [01:44:04] confusion i think big finance i think [01:44:07] bigness is about to have its day in [01:44:09] court and the small rambunctious citizen [01:44:12] that has been building steadily and [01:44:13] loyally and righteously i think is going [01:44:15] to rise to a way that [01:44:18] people never would have imagined [01:44:20] one one one last thing on this [01:44:24] it is not our responsibility to win [01:44:26] anything it is our responsibility to be [01:44:29] faithful [01:44:30] so even if you're jeremiah and his [01:44:32] cistern and the whole nation is turned [01:44:35] against you [01:44:36] you just keep preaching the truth and [01:44:39] doing the truth [01:44:40] because your sanctification is part of [01:44:43] the whole process it's not just about [01:44:46] trying to sanctify the nation [01:44:49] you're trying to sanctify yourself and [01:44:51] become more like jesus regardless of [01:44:53] whether or not you're by the world [01:44:55] standards victorious [01:44:57] so just do what's right leave the [01:44:58] results to god thank you for being here [01:45:00] tonight thank you [01:45:01] [Applause] [01:45:04] so in closing everybody frank has these [01:45:05] books outside there also just an [01:45:07] announcement uh we're now on three hours [01:45:09] of local phoenix radio uh the charlie [01:45:11] kirk show uh am 960. uh we're on nine to [01:45:16] ten and then fast forward from six to [01:45:18] eight p.m so if you're in the car uh [01:45:20] supporting local radio i think is super [01:45:22] important i'll just make one pledge just [01:45:24] one pitch on this local radio is going [01:45:26] to be the hardest thing for the sensors [01:45:28] to shut off literally um just from a [01:45:30] technical standpoint radio is something [01:45:32] that unless they literally take down the [01:45:34] towers right and so supporting local [01:45:36] radio don't forget that it's i think can [01:45:38] actually have a revival in a couple [01:45:40] years and frank you're on radio stations [01:45:42] across the country yeah we're on the [01:45:43] american family radio network but just [01:45:44] go to uh our website crossexamine.org [01:45:47] you can see our podcast is called i [01:45:49] don't have enough faith to be an atheist [01:45:50] and we're going to have uh frank's stuff [01:45:52] all over our podcasts in the coming week [01:45:54] so again if you have a young person in [01:45:56] your life try to recruit one student to [01:45:58] dream city christian a turning point [01:46:00] academy that's a marching order find one [01:46:02] young person i know that we had one that [01:46:04] just enrolled that is enrolling right [01:46:06] that's awesome and uh so try to find one [01:46:09] young person and recruit them and again [01:46:11] everybody we have primary season coming [01:46:13] up and election season coming up we're [01:46:15] never going to tell you who to vote for [01:46:16] here we're not into that we're about [01:46:17] education we're about spirituality about [01:46:20] revival but i will say this you should [01:46:22] vote every single person needs to vote [01:46:25] in this upcoming primary and needs to [01:46:27] vote in november what about the student [01:46:29] summit tell them about that's right and [01:46:30] if you want to make the trek all the way [01:46:32] to tampa florida we have our turning [01:46:34] point usa student action summit which i [01:46:36] think is one of the most amazing [01:46:38] collection of speakers imaginable we [01:46:40] have greg gutfeld we have laura ingram [01:46:42] josh hawley ted cruz and then we have [01:46:44] some two smaller speakers hosted by [01:46:46] turning point action ron desantis and [01:46:48] donald trump will both be there um which [01:46:50] will be pretty great so [01:46:53] tampa florida july 23 20 22 23 24. if [01:46:57] you guys want to go and get out of the [01:47:00] desert blitz heat and get into the [01:47:02] humidity and wish you were back into the [01:47:04] desert blitz heat it's july 22 23 24 in [01:47:07] tampa florida we're going to have [01:47:09] a faith morning where a lot of young [01:47:11] kids are going to give their life to the [01:47:12] lord it's awesome to see seven o'clock [01:47:14] in the morning of young people that are [01:47:15] excited to be there and young people [01:47:17] that are regretting the decisions they [01:47:18] made [01:47:19] the saturday night before at our student [01:47:20] action summit just giving their life to [01:47:22] the lord it's really a beautiful thing [01:47:23] to witness um and as long as you believe [01:47:26] in liberty you're welcome it's pretty [01:47:27] awesome so i want to thank the amazing [01:47:29] dream city church again god bless you [01:47:31] guys and we'll see you next month thank [01:47:32] you [01:47:38] [Music] [01:47:55] you

to shining sea [00:21:38] from detroit down to houston [00:21:41] from new york to l.a [00:21:45] [Music] [00:21:48] is [00:21:52] [Music] [00:22:00] [Applause] [00:22:01] [Music] [00:22:10] his grace [00:23:11] oh [00:23:16] [Music] [00:23:29] [Music] [00:23:43] [Applause] [00:23:53] well it's here again for america come on [00:23:56] [Music] [00:23:57] [Applause] [00:24:02] remain standing just a minute we're [00:24:04] going to pray [00:24:06] but just before we pray [00:24:08] how many of this billy will say pastor i [00:24:10] really love america put your hand up [00:24:12] your eyes [00:24:14] we've talked a lot about freedom in the [00:24:16] last few days and thank god [00:24:19] for the freedom of this great country [00:24:22] but did you know it's possible to live [00:24:24] in the freeze country in the world [00:24:27] and still not be free [00:24:30] the people in this building that love [00:24:33] you love america [00:24:35] you stand for biblical principles [00:24:38] you love the church and you believe in [00:24:40] god [00:24:42] but still there's a hole in your heart [00:24:44] there's a shallow veneer [00:24:47] there's a vacancy [00:24:49] and there's no freedom within you [00:24:52] you see god created that space for him [00:24:55] you can try to fill it with wealth or [00:24:58] education or someone that would love you [00:25:02] but still that hole is still there [00:25:06] because that hole was made [00:25:08] for you [00:25:10] until you come to that place [00:25:12] that will say i give my life to you dear [00:25:14] lord [00:25:16] you're battling with issues and you're [00:25:18] really not free [00:25:20] maybe it's [00:25:22] some kind of addiction that you're [00:25:24] addicted to [00:25:25] maybe there's no freedom in your [00:25:27] marriage [00:25:29] but you're really not free [00:25:32] but in my prayer we can take care of [00:25:33] that tonight [00:25:35] for the bible said they that call upon [00:25:37] the name of the lord [00:25:39] shall be saved [00:25:40] and other means when we cry out and say [00:25:42] god please set me free [00:25:44] i need you i want you come into my life [00:25:48] the bible said you shall be saved [00:25:52] and so i'm going to ask you to join me [00:25:53] in a prayer we refer to as [00:25:55] the prayer of repentance [00:25:57] and the bible said that when that prayer [00:25:59] is prayed with a genuine repentant heart [00:26:03] that god hears us [00:26:05] and god answers our prayer [00:26:07] so we'll ever hit his about [00:26:10] you know i pray better when i know who [00:26:11] i'm praying for [00:26:13] so i'm going to ask everybody in just a [00:26:15] minute to slip your hand up in the [00:26:17] darkness i can just barely see [00:26:21] nobody's looking but only god will see [00:26:23] your hand and i will [00:26:25] and i pray better if i know there are [00:26:26] people that really [00:26:28] they want to be free tonight [00:26:30] but when i ask you to raise your head [00:26:32] you're saying pastor i need god right [00:26:34] now in my life [00:26:36] my circumstances are such [00:26:39] i need god to dig me out of this whole [00:26:41] pastor i needed my family and my [00:26:43] children and my work in my body [00:26:46] pastor [00:26:48] would you pray for me i really need [00:26:50] god's help [00:26:51] whatever head is about and no one is [00:26:53] looking just putting your hand up real [00:26:55] high [00:26:56] so i could see it right now [00:26:58] oh this is beautiful [00:27:00] hens are going up all over this building [00:27:03] i never get used to seeing people ask [00:27:06] for prayer as for god [00:27:08] to change their life [00:27:10] so will you join me in a prayer [00:27:12] i want everybody to pray this prayer not [00:27:14] just those who raise our hand [00:27:16] but i want the christians to join me [00:27:19] in this prayer will you do it [00:27:21] and i want to make it loud and strong [00:27:24] unashamedly are you ready [00:27:27] together [00:27:28] dear god [00:27:31] i need a savior [00:27:34] i need your help god [00:27:37] i cannot help myself [00:27:40] but you can help me [00:27:43] so dear god i call upon your name [00:27:47] and i ask you to forgive me [00:27:50] you said that you would [00:27:53] if i would ask you [00:27:55] so in the name of jesus [00:27:58] i come to your god [00:28:01] and i repent [00:28:03] i give my life to you [00:28:06] i am now forgiven [00:28:09] i am yours [00:28:11] thank you for coming into my heart [00:28:15] in jesus name [00:28:17] amen [00:28:19] come on let me hear you give a good [00:28:21] praise [00:28:22] join the angels in heaven [00:28:25] and rejoice together [00:28:27] well before you sit down turn the one [00:28:29] beside you and say i'm sure glad you [00:28:32] came out tonight you're looking better [00:28:33] than when you first came in okay then [00:28:35] you may be [00:28:43] guys are seated i think [00:28:48] that's commitment i think they're going [00:28:49] to stay there all night [00:28:52] welcome everyone especially to those on [00:28:55] our online community welcome to freedom [00:28:57] night in america what an exceptional [00:28:59] night we've already had [00:29:00] and you know when the [00:29:02] conception of this night happened uh my [00:29:05] husband [00:29:06] luke barnett and and charlie envisioned [00:29:08] that this is where civic issues collided [00:29:12] with biblical answers and that's what [00:29:15] this night is all about and that we get [00:29:17] to approach how can we [00:29:19] be a part of bigger things in our [00:29:21] community [00:29:22] but they also have such a heart [00:29:24] affecting the whole state of arizona [00:29:26] and that comes with outreach [00:29:28] and i am here tonight to get to [00:29:30] celebrate with you the reversal of roe v [00:29:38] wade what an honor in this time in space [00:29:42] that we are living in [00:29:44] but we you know last week last month [00:29:47] when josh chumley with choices pregnancy [00:29:49] was standing up here with me and we're [00:29:51] really linking armed with [00:29:53] pro-life crisis and resource pregnancy [00:29:56] clinics because it's going to take all [00:29:58] of us their clinic called me this week [00:30:00] and there was a girl living in her car [00:30:02] car broke down 37 weeks pregnant and had [00:30:05] a one-year-old living in her car and [00:30:07] every [00:30:08] institution in phoenix including the [00:30:10] dream center with six months waiting [00:30:13] left list was full with a six-month [00:30:16] waiting list so i think what we need to [00:30:18] realize [00:30:20] is that we better be prepared for what [00:30:22] is coming our way [00:30:24] and we are all about seeing life to term [00:30:27] but we have to be [00:30:29] all about whole life and the dream [00:30:31] center addresses all the stages of [00:30:35] recovery and whole life the beautiful [00:30:37] thing about the phoenix dream center the [00:30:38] shore creek dream center and the white [00:30:40] mountain dream center [00:30:41] is that we are able to take moms and [00:30:44] children and allow them healed together [00:30:46] so many places are not licensed to do so [00:30:48] so as the ushers come forward tonight we [00:30:50] hope [00:30:51] that you would see yourself a part of [00:30:53] this [00:30:54] in that you know the church comes in to [00:30:57] it where we need mentors and people to [00:30:59] come alongside of these amazing young [00:31:01] ladies who find themselves in crisis we [00:31:03] can all be a part of the process but the [00:31:06] dream center comes into play very [00:31:08] purposefully [00:31:09] in walking people through whole life [00:31:12] recovery so i hope tonight you can see [00:31:14] yourself being a part of this let me [00:31:16] bless the offering lord we thank you so [00:31:19] much for an opportunity to share the [00:31:20] exciting things that are going on but to [00:31:22] be [00:31:23] very well aware [00:31:25] of what you are calling us to do to [00:31:27] stand in the gap we accept the [00:31:30] responsibility [00:31:32] of the blessings you have allowed us to [00:31:34] experience but the wave that is coming [00:31:37] our way we stand up as the church and we [00:31:40] will not sit back idle we accept the [00:31:43] call to action that is what tonight is [00:31:46] all about bless this offering your name [00:31:48] we pray amen [00:31:50] well listen as they're passing the [00:31:52] buckets we are really excited [00:31:56] to let you know that dream city [00:31:58] christian a turning point academy [00:32:02] yes [00:32:03] this is now being launched across the [00:32:05] nation i'm sure charlie's going to talk [00:32:07] more about it but we just want you to [00:32:09] know that there's a higher level a safe [00:32:12] place of education where there's nothing [00:32:14] woke in that environment where we will [00:32:17] not deconstruct [00:32:19] a beautiful american history that we [00:32:21] have and the teachers will be on point [00:32:24] with us and there's lots of different [00:32:26] opportunities to make sure all children [00:32:28] could be a part of this christian school [00:32:31] and there's different opportunities like [00:32:32] deferred tax credits instead of paying [00:32:34] it to the state there's really great [00:32:36] ways that arizona thank you arizona [00:32:39] allows us to have this as an opportunity [00:32:41] so we do have a table out in the lobby [00:32:44] that if you're interested in getting [00:32:46] more involved learning more about the [00:32:47] school we do have representation out in [00:32:49] the lobby so please [00:32:51] go out there and ask questions because [00:32:53] we want every student to be able to go [00:32:55] to a high level incredible non-woke [00:32:58] school amen [00:33:00] all right well no further ado charlie [00:33:03] kirk would you come on up we are so [00:33:05] proud of him [00:33:08] we appreciate you [00:33:10] we do not take it lightly [00:33:19] thank you angel thank you everybody [00:33:21] thank you [00:33:22] boy what an amazing presentation that [00:33:24] was by the way wasn't that incredible [00:33:26] that was so special [00:33:28] and um i'm sure you're you're with me i [00:33:30] was getting emotional throughout that [00:33:32] and as i was watching that i had [00:33:34] actually [00:33:35] kind of a two emotions going on at once [00:33:38] i was [00:33:39] moved by the presentation and emotional [00:33:42] and i think some of you also were [00:33:44] kind of getting angry that our beautiful [00:33:46] country is being destroyed in front of [00:33:47] our very eyes right i mean that just [00:33:49] being very honest with you is just hard [00:33:51] to kind of that tension of emotions [00:33:53] because what a gift we've been given [00:33:55] from the lord honestly to live in this [00:33:56] country um and the greatest nation ever [00:33:59] to exist in the history of the world and [00:34:01] we're gonna change it that's why we're [00:34:02] here tonight we're gonna we're gonna [00:34:03] take it back we're gonna [00:34:05] make some appropriate changes so [00:34:07] i want to i want to touch on a couple [00:34:08] things um first of all of course dream [00:34:11] city schools check out turning point [00:34:13] dream city schools a turning point [00:34:14] academy check it out now enrolling [00:34:16] students for the fall some super [00:34:18] exciting updates [00:34:19] that will be coming in fact we're about [00:34:21] to announce two more branches of turning [00:34:24] point academies coming in [00:34:26] hopefully in the next days and weeks [00:34:28] including homeschool curriculum [00:34:31] pod schooling curriculum as well as some [00:34:33] very exciting uh new programming that [00:34:36] will be done to be able to make it [00:34:37] easier for parents to be able to no [00:34:40] longer have an excuse our vision for [00:34:42] turning point academy nationwide is for [00:34:45] parents to no longer say you know what i [00:34:47] don't like my local government school [00:34:49] but there's no option we want to make [00:34:50] sure that the options are always in [00:34:52] front of every parent that wants to be [00:34:54] able to pull their kid out of government [00:34:56] schools that is our vision for what [00:34:58] we're doing at turning point academy [00:35:00] and angel beat me to it but i what what [00:35:04] a incredible [00:35:06] last month when it comes to the supreme [00:35:08] court we'll talk about this tonight with [00:35:10] frank but [00:35:11] you know in this kind of news cycle we [00:35:13] live in where everything seems so [00:35:15] overwhelmingly negative [00:35:17] wasn't it remarkable to finally see the [00:35:19] supreme court do something courageous [00:35:21] and bold [00:35:22] and [00:35:24] constitutional as well by the way [00:35:28] and i would be remiss if i did not [00:35:30] mention the people who who helped make [00:35:33] that possible you see [00:35:34] the supreme court is a lagging indicator [00:35:37] it's not a leading indicator so the [00:35:39] supreme court usually bears fruit of [00:35:42] fights that happened generations ago [00:35:45] so these are judges that were put in [00:35:47] place by prior administrations or [00:35:49] justices because of past elections or [00:35:51] arguments that [00:35:53] quite honestly were won or lost before a [00:35:55] lot of us were engaged in the fight [00:35:57] and so that decision was the work of 40 [00:36:01] or 50 years [00:36:03] of prayer and fasting from churches like [00:36:06] this one from leaders like pastor tommy [00:36:08] from leaders like billy graham [00:36:10] leaders like rush limbaugh [00:36:12] leaders like antonin scalia and i think [00:36:15] it would be a mistake not to mention the [00:36:18] multi-generations of warriors like [00:36:19] phyllis schlafly who went in the [00:36:22] trenches and said you know what this [00:36:24] decision can be overturned and we must [00:36:26] recognize that [00:36:28] it didn't happen overnight how often [00:36:30] have we said that here at freedom night [00:36:32] throughout the last year big and bold [00:36:34] and important things are going to take [00:36:36] sometimes years to get done [00:36:38] but guess what rush limbaugh and billy [00:36:40] graham are smiling from heaven saying i [00:36:42] told you guys to keep fighting for that [00:36:44] and [00:36:46] what's so there's so many things that we [00:36:48] must unpack on in this and this shows [00:36:50] how incredible the church that dream [00:36:52] city is because dream city passed what i [00:36:55] kind of put forward as the two-part test [00:36:57] of the roe vs wade reversal so the first [00:37:00] one is did your pastor mention it [00:37:02] happened [00:37:04] that's the first thing right [00:37:06] most did not [00:37:08] most pastors just acted as if it was [00:37:10] just another day at church [00:37:13] or they said you know i know this is a [00:37:15] very difficult issue sorry your pastor [00:37:17] it's not a difficult issue okay [00:37:19] maybe if you were a secular humanist [00:37:21] running some sort of philosophy class at [00:37:23] a local university it's a difficult [00:37:25] issue not difficult for a pastor right [00:37:27] we're made in the image of god life is [00:37:29] sacred it needs to be protected period [00:37:31] every pastor needs to say it [00:37:34] and so that's the so there were a lot of [00:37:36] pastors that passed the first part but [00:37:38] the second part is equally as important [00:37:40] which is we now need to step up [00:37:43] and recognize and realize those of us [00:37:45] that have been advocating for an end to [00:37:47] abortion in america need to expand our [00:37:49] services our charities our nonprofits [00:37:52] like the dream center to be able to [00:37:54] equip and empower and support every [00:37:57] woman in america that is now going to be [00:38:00] bringing life into this world it's now [00:38:01] on us because look the other side [00:38:03] they're going to be saying the argument [00:38:05] they always make is we need abortion [00:38:07] because it's too expensive we need [00:38:08] abortion because it's too costly we need [00:38:10] abortion because there's no options and [00:38:11] that's one of the reasons why we [00:38:12] partnered with choices here in arizona [00:38:15] amazing organization by the way and so [00:38:18] now it's incumbent on us as christians [00:38:20] to step up to the plate to support these [00:38:22] charities even more with our time and [00:38:24] our treasure and our resources and our [00:38:25] prayer because there is going to be an [00:38:28] overwhelming amount of first-time [00:38:31] mothers and by the way we know that just [00:38:33] because in texas when the six-week [00:38:36] abortion ban went into place abortions [00:38:39] went down by 70 to 80 percent now mind [00:38:41] you this was always an argument that the [00:38:44] abortionists made they said you can [00:38:45] outlaw abortion but it's not going to [00:38:47] decrease abortions it's just a lie [00:38:49] actually is when you outlaw things [00:38:51] people reconsider it it's like a really [00:38:52] weird thing right i know when it's not [00:38:54] legal people say well maybe it's illegal [00:38:56] for a reason or maybe do i really want [00:38:58] to do this and look some people are [00:39:00] going to be motivated to go across [00:39:01] across state lines that's still going to [00:39:04] be you know legal in our country for the [00:39:05] time being they'll go to new mexico or [00:39:07] california but some people will [00:39:08] reconsider it and they'll say maybe i [00:39:10] don't want to do this maybe i'll get an [00:39:12] ultrasound maybe i'm going to hear a [00:39:13] heartbeat and [00:39:15] what an amazing opportunity for the [00:39:17] church to say welcome to say that we're [00:39:20] here to support you we're here to help [00:39:22] you judgment-free zone we're not going [00:39:24] to condemn you we're not going to speak [00:39:26] harshly to you i think it's one of the [00:39:28] greatest evangelist opportunities the [00:39:30] church has ever had to be able to [00:39:33] support the people that need the support [00:39:35] and so i just want to encourage us to [00:39:37] lean into that moment and so that's the [00:39:39] two-step test in dream city past both of [00:39:41] them i was watching very carefully you [00:39:42] could see a lot some of these um [00:39:45] wokey pastors right they uh [00:39:48] they would tweet stuff out that was just [00:39:49] so amazing and i won't say any names i [00:39:51] promise i won't but um [00:39:53] they were like you know nowhere in the [00:39:55] bible does it say abortion is wrong like [00:39:57] yeah nor in the bible does it say [00:39:59] dropping an atom bomb on berlin is wrong [00:40:01] but you kind of deduct that from thou [00:40:03] shalt not murder right i mean that's [00:40:05] probably pretty obvious i knew you [00:40:07] before you in the womb or very basic [00:40:08] things [00:40:09] and basically what it comes down to is [00:40:11] courage and this issue has always made [00:40:15] some people cowardly that we're going to [00:40:17] offend others that we are not going to [00:40:20] be able to win people over [00:40:22] and in fact the data's showing the [00:40:23] opposite the data is actually showing [00:40:26] this nation is becoming more pro-life [00:40:28] that it's actually showing that that the [00:40:30] more we talk about this issue [00:40:32] the more converts we actually make and [00:40:35] so the only argument they ever had was [00:40:38] my body my choice [00:40:40] after the vaccine mandate thing i don't [00:40:42] take them seriously anymore i just i'm [00:40:45] sorry we're done [00:40:48] like the whole bodily and by the way [00:40:50] it's a silly argument it's not your body [00:40:52] okay it's somebody else's body separate [00:40:54] dna not your choice but still [00:40:56] that was the one kind of compelling [00:40:58] nature of the whole thing and i think we [00:41:00] saw in the reaction which was so amazing [00:41:03] and a compliment to all of you and an [00:41:04] encouragement that i think [00:41:06] more victories are going to come in the [00:41:08] years and decades to come [00:41:10] is that the the hours after the decision [00:41:13] the reversal we won the narrative war i [00:41:16] totally anticipated us losing the [00:41:18] narrative war by the way but they [00:41:19] started to put people on television [00:41:21] saying you know why we need abortion [00:41:22] because special needs kids are hard to [00:41:23] raise literally anna navarro goes on cnn [00:41:26] and saying that or they say you know [00:41:27] what we we need less people on earth [00:41:30] really [00:41:31] and so they just kind of completely [00:41:32] imploded and it's a very interesting [00:41:35] issue because it it mixes [00:41:38] biology [00:41:39] science morality metaphysics emotion and [00:41:43] so i just want to just encourage [00:41:45] everybody because there will be some [00:41:46] people say charlie stop talking about [00:41:48] this issue it's a losing issue [00:41:50] first of all who cares it's right or [00:41:52] wrong i don't take a popularity test of [00:41:54] that but even if that [00:41:56] that's actually not true though that's [00:41:58] the point is that it happens to be the [00:42:00] lie of the enemy where the nation is now [00:42:04] more pro-life than ever before the more [00:42:06] people learn about it the more people [00:42:08] say you know what this is wrong and we [00:42:10] have to put an end to it and so [00:42:12] if it was not for active churches like [00:42:14] dream city it's very important it was [00:42:16] not for active churches like dream city [00:42:18] throughout the years this never would [00:42:20] have got done but also we need to make [00:42:21] sure we understand it if it wasn't for [00:42:23] somebody else [00:42:25] this would not have got done and i know [00:42:26] everyone has different opinions of this [00:42:28] individual but this is a fact and you [00:42:30] don't have to like what i'm about to say [00:42:31] okay you don't have to like it but if [00:42:33] you like babies and you like the unborn [00:42:35] then this is a fact that um how do i put [00:42:38] this someone who lived a colorful life [00:42:40] from new york city who was once [00:42:41] pro-choice himself who once supported [00:42:44] planned parenthood [00:42:46] god had a call on his life for maybe [00:42:47] just one or two or three reasons but to [00:42:49] go down a golden escalator and win an [00:42:51] election he was not supposed to win [00:42:54] and [00:42:56] again you don't have to like the guy i'm [00:42:57] not i'm not saying you have to like it [00:42:58] it's a fact of life that god can use [00:43:00] anybody for any reason [00:43:02] and he did a highly suspicious thing he [00:43:05] actually did what he said he was going [00:43:06] to do i know we're not used to that [00:43:08] makes us all very freaked out right [00:43:11] and we got amy coney barrett neil [00:43:12] gorsuch and brett kavanaugh and and i [00:43:15] want to say [00:43:17] kavanaugh's ruling on immigration was [00:43:19] somewhat disappointing but [00:43:20] if you survive an assassination attempt [00:43:23] on your family and you still rule [00:43:25] correctly on roe v wade that's worthy of [00:43:27] appreciation and applause it really is [00:43:29] that's that that's courage so [00:43:32] it's a big moment for the church we must [00:43:34] now step into this and help the people [00:43:36] that need our help and see this is a [00:43:38] great opportunity i'm going to tell you [00:43:39] about our guest tonight so i first [00:43:41] became aware of our guest when i was in [00:43:43] a hotel room in spokane washington we [00:43:46] were talking about spokane earlier i [00:43:48] just got done speaking at washington [00:43:49] state university in pullman which is far [00:43:52] uh not far but it's it's a ways from [00:43:53] spokane [00:43:55] and i turned on local television and [00:43:57] there was this incredibly articulate [00:44:00] presenter talking about how atheism is [00:44:02] actually irrational talking about the [00:44:04] case for the resurrection i'd never [00:44:06] heard of any of this before i said who [00:44:08] is this guy so i started to look up his [00:44:09] youtube videos [00:44:11] i was so moved by it and actually his [00:44:13] entire podcast and his show is called i [00:44:15] don't have enough faith to be an atheist [00:44:17] in fact that's the name of his book i [00:44:19] don't have enough faith to be an atheist [00:44:21] and so he does what i do [00:44:24] but just a little bit differently he [00:44:25] goes to college campuses and takes [00:44:27] questions all about christianity all [00:44:29] about atheism and he is one of the most [00:44:32] gifted and charismatic apologists of our [00:44:35] time someone who makes the case for [00:44:37] christianity he also has a new book out [00:44:39] called hollywood heroes which is [00:44:40] terrific i'm actually gonna freak out [00:44:42] frank on our show tomorrow to talk about [00:44:44] this on our radio program and our [00:44:45] podcast and i've got to know frank over [00:44:48] the last year year and a half um pretty [00:44:50] well and we trade texts and have dinners [00:44:52] every so often and do um just kind of [00:44:55] are there for one another and i deeply [00:44:57] appreciate it but i think you're going [00:44:58] to be really moved by the rational case [00:45:00] for christianity and this is something [00:45:02] that we don't always present which is [00:45:04] the archaeological evidence the rational [00:45:07] evidence the natural law evidence of how [00:45:10] if you look at things even supporting [00:45:12] the bible that it confirms biblical [00:45:14] truth themselves so please join me in [00:45:16] welcoming the incredible frank turek [00:45:22] thank you guys [00:45:34] charlie kirk ladies and gentlemen right [00:45:36] here charlie kirk [00:45:37] so um talk about articulate huh [00:45:40] right here very kind [00:45:42] so frank welcome we've been talking uh [00:45:45] for a while to get you out here i'm so [00:45:46] glad it worked uh sorry about the [00:45:48] weather but it's actually a cool day [00:45:49] today so [00:45:51] so frank let me play devil's advocate [00:45:54] it is reasonable and rational to be an [00:45:56] atheist there's no evidence for god what [00:45:58] do you mean you have no faith to be an [00:46:00] atheist faith is for you religious [00:46:02] people [00:46:03] well first of all you're wrong [00:46:07] uh the atheists are now saying things [00:46:10] like [00:46:12] i just lack a belief in god have you [00:46:14] heard this yet when atheists will say i [00:46:16] lack a belief in god that's their new [00:46:18] way of saying that you have faith and i [00:46:20] don't and i simply ask them this [00:46:22] question here's a proposition god exists [00:46:25] do you [00:46:27] agree with that proposition and if you [00:46:29] do then you're a theist do you disagree [00:46:32] with that proposition in that case [00:46:33] you're an atheist or don't you know [00:46:35] you're an agnostic you know what they [00:46:37] always say i don't know i said what's [00:46:38] all this lack of belief stuff [00:46:40] you just don't know whether it's a god [00:46:42] or not i think there's evidence for god [00:46:44] can we go into some of that so so yeah [00:46:45] let's get into that frank what evidence [00:46:47] could there possibly be for god i've [00:46:49] people say i've never seen god i can't i [00:46:52] can't touch god what evidence could [00:46:53] there possibly be [00:46:55] if someone ever asks you why do you know [00:46:57] that god exists i think you ought to say [00:46:58] this i know god by his effects [00:47:02] in other words there are effects of god [00:47:04] everywhere and what we're doing just [00:47:06] like a scientist does when they're [00:47:08] trying to figure out what particular [00:47:10] cause caused a particular effect their [00:47:12] reasoning from effect back to cause so [00:47:15] let's go through a few effects [00:47:17] first of all the universe is in effect [00:47:19] the universe exploded into being out of [00:47:21] nothing [00:47:22] once there was nothing and then the [00:47:24] entire space-time continuum left into [00:47:26] existence what could have caused [00:47:28] space-time and matter to come into [00:47:30] existence [00:47:31] the only thing i think that could cause [00:47:34] space-time and matter to come into [00:47:35] existence is something that is spaceless [00:47:39] timeless [00:47:41] immaterial [00:47:42] powerful to create the universe out of [00:47:44] nothing [00:47:46] personal in order to choose to create [00:47:48] because to go for to go from nothing to [00:47:50] a state of creation someone has to make [00:47:52] a choice and only persons can make [00:47:54] choices the cause would also have to be [00:47:57] intelligent to have a mind to make a [00:47:59] choice so i always ask audiences i say [00:48:02] when you think about a spaceless [00:48:04] timeless [00:48:05] immaterial powerful [00:48:08] personal intelligent cause who do you [00:48:11] think of [00:48:12] who do you think of [00:48:13] god you say well how do you know it's [00:48:14] the christian god and my answer is [00:48:17] we don't [00:48:19] yet [00:48:20] we haven't done enough research yet this [00:48:22] could be allah at this point charlie [00:48:24] this could just be a generic god that [00:48:27] say thomas jefferson talked about we [00:48:29] hold these truths to be self-evident he [00:48:30] didn't mention it was jesus he just said [00:48:32] a creator but if we keep looking at the [00:48:35] evidence we're going to realize [00:48:37] that the same being that walked out of [00:48:40] the tomb [00:48:41] 1989 years ago is the same being in [00:48:44] whose divine nature created the universe [00:48:47] out of nothing but we have to look at [00:48:49] the evidence for the resurrection for [00:48:50] that so that's one effect yeah and so [00:48:53] we'll get deeper into this frank but i [00:48:55] think that the argument for atheism is [00:48:57] so patently insane the only way that [00:49:00] someone could be an atheist or believe [00:49:01] atheism is because they want to believe [00:49:03] it yeah they don't want to believe in [00:49:05] god or christianity in fact here's a [00:49:07] question i always ask people on college [00:49:09] campuses charlie goes to a lot of [00:49:10] college campuses as i do as well and if [00:49:13] i if during the q a there's an atheist [00:49:15] or a non-believer at the microphone and [00:49:17] if they demonstrate any hostility at all [00:49:19] i'll normally ask this question [00:49:22] if christianity were true would you [00:49:23] become a christian [00:49:25] i've had atheists stand at that [00:49:26] microphone in front of hundreds of [00:49:28] people and say [00:49:29] no [00:49:32] no [00:49:34] wait you claim to be reasonable i asked [00:49:36] you if something were true would you [00:49:37] believe it and you say no how's that [00:49:39] reasonable how's that rational it's not [00:49:41] the problem is in here the problem's [00:49:44] here they don't want it to be true they [00:49:47] don't want there to be a god why because [00:49:49] they want to be god of their own lives [00:49:51] they're not on a truth quest ladies and [00:49:53] gentlemen they're on a happiness quest [00:49:56] and they're just going to believe [00:49:57] whatever they think is going to make [00:49:58] them happy here's the problem you can [00:50:01] make yourself happy over the short term [00:50:03] at college maybe [00:50:05] but over the long term it's a disaster [00:50:08] if you just try to do stuff that's going [00:50:10] to make you feel good [00:50:13] it's going to help you in the short term [00:50:14] but over the long term it's a disaster [00:50:16] and everyone in this room and watching [00:50:18] out there who's over 40 knows what i'm [00:50:19] talking about and charlie who's well [00:50:21] beyond his years already knows it too [00:50:24] because if you just try and make [00:50:25] yourself happy without regard to other [00:50:27] people [00:50:28] you're gonna wind up depressed lonely [00:50:31] full of anxiety the only way to get true [00:50:34] contentment and happiness is to go [00:50:36] straight through truth and jesus is the [00:50:38] truth amen now let me mention one other [00:50:42] thing regarding this [00:50:44] i found that most people are looking for [00:50:46] god like a criminal is looking for a cop [00:50:50] they're not interested so you always [00:50:52] need to stop and ask them if [00:50:54] christianity were true would you become [00:50:56] a christian in fact can i do a little [00:50:58] survey here is it okay do a little [00:50:59] survey [00:51:00] i want you [00:51:02] uh ladies and gentlemen to think of [00:51:04] somebody you know [00:51:05] who's not a christian whom you'd like to [00:51:08] be a christian everybody got somebody [00:51:10] i don't point at them [00:51:12] all right [00:51:13] okay here's my question about the person [00:51:15] you're thinking of [00:51:17] is the person you're thinking of on a [00:51:19] relentless pursuit of truth they want to [00:51:22] know if christianity is true or [00:51:24] are they apathetic or maybe even hostile [00:51:26] to christianity how many people say the [00:51:28] person i'm thinking of is on a [00:51:30] relentless pursuit of truth they want to [00:51:31] know if christianity is true because [00:51:32] your hands please [00:51:35] two two [00:51:37] how many people say the person i'm [00:51:38] thinking of is apathetic or hostile okay [00:51:40] look around the room ladies and [00:51:41] gentlemen [00:51:43] people are not interested [00:51:47] you know what you do with such people [00:51:49] you love them you pray for them you [00:51:51] plant seeds and then you wait [00:51:54] because what's going to happen it [00:51:55] happens to all of us someday a tragedy [00:51:58] is going to going to occur [00:52:00] and your phone is going to ring and that [00:52:01] person is going to be on the other end [00:52:03] they're not going to call their atheist [00:52:04] friend when things go wrong what's the [00:52:05] atheist going to say there's no rhyme or [00:52:07] reason to life this stuff just happens [00:52:09] no they're going to call you [00:52:11] when the student's ready the teacher [00:52:12] will appear if they're ever going to be [00:52:14] ready it's when tragedy strikes so frank [00:52:17] one of the kind of i i would say idea [00:52:20] pathogens [00:52:21] that is infecting the minds of our [00:52:23] nation's young people [00:52:25] is the virus of subjectivism or [00:52:28] subjectivity and it's nothing new it's [00:52:29] been around for quite some time the [00:52:31] great c.s lewis and i encourage all of [00:52:33] you to read cs lewis at least once a [00:52:35] year uh screwtape letters miracles mere [00:52:38] christianity narnia is great to read to [00:52:40] your kids and grandkids super biblically [00:52:42] based abolition of man which is terrific [00:52:45] uh c.s lewis is almost an unlimited [00:52:47] reservoir of wisdom here but he really [00:52:49] pinpointed the danger in subjectivity so [00:52:53] the best way that we could describe [00:52:54] subjectivity is what you'll hear in a [00:52:56] college campus and maybe from your [00:52:57] grandkids when they come back from a [00:52:59] semester on a college campus that you're [00:53:01] going into debt to go pay for is when [00:53:03] they come home and they say no that's my [00:53:04] truth [00:53:06] and everyone has their own truth now [00:53:09] mind you this is at what's the heart of [00:53:10] the transgender movement isn't it that i [00:53:13] have a different material truth than you [00:53:15] do and that we can't have any sort of [00:53:18] agreed upon precepts so frank what would [00:53:21] be the proper response when someone says [00:53:23] okay no but i have my own truth i have [00:53:25] my own beliefs i chart my own course my [00:53:28] own destiny there's no such thing as [00:53:30] truth everyone has their own story they [00:53:32] tell themselves in fact nothing is [00:53:34] absolutely true yeah great question when [00:53:36] somebody says there is no truth you [00:53:38] ought to ask them is that true [00:53:41] is it true that there's no truth because [00:53:43] if it's true that there's no truth to [00:53:45] claim there is no truth can't be true [00:53:46] but it claims to be true [00:53:50] did i say that right [00:53:53] i know that can give you intellectual [00:53:54] constipation if you think about it [00:53:56] because this is known as a [00:53:57] self-defeating statement a [00:53:59] self-defeating statement doesn't mean [00:54:01] its own standard if i were to say i [00:54:03] can't speak a word in english what would [00:54:04] you say [00:54:06] you just use english to say it when [00:54:08] people say there is no truth or they say [00:54:10] there are no absolutes they're uttering [00:54:12] self-defeating statements they're saying [00:54:13] it's absolutely true there are no [00:54:15] absolutes [00:54:16] is that an absolute if they say all [00:54:18] truth is relative what are you going to [00:54:19] say [00:54:20] is that a relative truth no it's an [00:54:22] objective truth when people say i have [00:54:24] my truth and you have your truth there [00:54:26] is no the truth you want to ask them is [00:54:28] that the truth that there is no the [00:54:30] truth [00:54:31] do you see the problem it defeats itself [00:54:34] actually when people say they have their [00:54:36] own truth you might as well say to them [00:54:38] i know this is not popular in today's [00:54:40] culture but there's no such thing as [00:54:42] your truth or my truth there's just the [00:54:43] truth i mean if you're going to say you [00:54:45] have your own truth you might as well [00:54:46] just say i have my own math [00:54:49] i mean imagine if charlie were to hire [00:54:50] me to do something he said hey frank [00:54:52] i'll give you 15 an hour do the job and [00:54:55] then let me know what i owe you so i [00:54:56] work for 10 hours and i come to charlie [00:54:58] i go charlie it's great been great [00:55:00] working for you here at tourney point [00:55:01] usa i've worked for 10 hours and you [00:55:03] said 15 an hour so you owe me fifteen [00:55:06] thousand dollars [00:55:07] charlie's gonna say what i don't know [00:55:09] you have fifteen thousand i owe you 150 [00:55:12] and i go oh no you don't understand i [00:55:13] have my own math [00:55:15] all right no now frank in all fairness [00:55:17] this is the idea that's running our [00:55:19] government right now [00:55:22] this is not an outrageous proposition [00:55:27] no it's silliness to say you have your [00:55:29] own truth [00:55:30] there's just the truth not your truth [00:55:33] not my truth it's self-defeating to say [00:55:35] there's no truth it's like when people [00:55:36] say don't judge [00:55:38] what should you say to him [00:55:40] well then why are you judging me for [00:55:41] judging [00:55:43] see it's a judgment jesus didn't say [00:55:45] don't judge he said judge not lest you [00:55:48] be judged by the same standard you you [00:55:50] judge others you'll be judged by that [00:55:52] standard so before you try and take the [00:55:54] spec out of your brother's eye you [00:55:56] hypocrite which is a judgment you notice [00:55:58] that you hypocrite take the log out of [00:56:00] your own eye first and then you'll be [00:56:01] better able to help your brother is this [00:56:03] a command not to judge no it's a command [00:56:05] on how to judge he's telling you to take [00:56:08] the spec out of your brother's eye that [00:56:10] involves making a judgment he's simply [00:56:12] saying don't judge hypocritically if [00:56:14] you've got that problem fix it then go [00:56:16] help your brother it'd be completely [00:56:18] ridiculous to say don't make judgments [00:56:19] why the people who are telling you not [00:56:21] to make judgments are they're the most [00:56:22] judgmental people in society [00:56:25] charlie deals with them all the time [00:56:27] they give me such warm welcomes when i [00:56:29] go to berkeley i have to tell you they [00:56:30] just love hearing from me you went to [00:56:32] you cal berserkly yeah i multiple times [00:56:35] you did uc berkeley stanford boulder um [00:56:38] so frank let's talk about the moral [00:56:39] implications if there is no god and so i [00:56:43] feel as if we're living through the [00:56:44] beginning stages of this moment right [00:56:47] now in america because if everyone gets [00:56:49] to determine their own truth and [00:56:51] determine their own morality [00:56:53] well then who's to say what is right or [00:56:55] wrong why should children not be exposed [00:56:57] to highly pornographic material what [00:56:59] difference does it make who's to say my [00:57:01] truth says differently what are the [00:57:02] societal moral implications when you do [00:57:05] not believe in first a god or at least a [00:57:08] moral giver or a moral law that is [00:57:10] absolute and not something that is [00:57:12] relative well this is another one of [00:57:13] those effects that i mentioned earlier [00:57:15] when someone says how do you know god [00:57:16] exists you're reasoning from effect to [00:57:18] cause so we've reasoned from the effect [00:57:20] known as the universe back to a [00:57:22] spaceless timeless immaterial cause now [00:57:25] when we get a moral law written on our [00:57:26] hearts that say thomas jefferson would [00:57:28] say is self-evident that the apostle [00:57:30] paul said the gentiles are now the law [00:57:32] of the law written on their hearts [00:57:33] that's from romans chapter two [00:57:36] these laws that are pressing on us are [00:57:39] effects the question is what caused [00:57:40] these effects [00:57:42] the effect for a moral law is a moral [00:57:45] law giver so we're reasoning from effect [00:57:48] back to cause [00:57:50] and so that's another way we know that [00:57:52] god exists here's the the ugly truth if [00:57:54] there is no god [00:57:56] then nothing is ultimately right or [00:57:58] wrong everything's just a matter of [00:57:59] opinion it's just your opinion against [00:58:02] say hitler's opinion [00:58:03] it's just your opinion [00:58:06] against [00:58:07] putin's opinion or whoever you think is [00:58:09] evil it's your opinion [00:58:12] against anyone that says [00:58:16] something is right or wrong if there's [00:58:17] no god everything's just a matter of [00:58:19] opinion well we know murder is not just [00:58:21] a matter of opinion we know rape is not [00:58:23] just a matter of opinion [00:58:24] we know that those things are really [00:58:26] objectively morally wrong and if they're [00:58:28] objectively morally wrong there must be [00:58:30] a standard of rightness [00:58:32] that defines what [00:58:34] goodness is and any deviation from that [00:58:36] standard would be what we would call [00:58:38] evil like murder or rape or theft or [00:58:41] whatever those things are in fact i [00:58:43] think it's the most powerful argument [00:58:44] today for the existence of god because [00:58:47] no matter where you go charlie whether [00:58:49] you're dealing with an atheist an [00:58:51] agnostic or a christian or a muslim [00:58:53] whoever you're dealing with they think [00:58:55] certain things are morally right and [00:58:56] certain things are morally wrong [00:58:59] and so frank i think we're starting to [00:59:01] you see in our society an entire [00:59:03] generation that has been plagued by the [00:59:05] inability to differentiate what is real [00:59:08] and what is not and i i it's a it's a [00:59:11] term that i'm workshopping but it really [00:59:13] is kind of this plague of the [00:59:16] imagination versus reality what do i [00:59:19] mean by this you have a generation that [00:59:21] is staring at screens where they just [00:59:23] see photons all day long where whether [00:59:25] it be video games or hyper graphic [00:59:27] pornography or just talking to friends [00:59:30] that quite honestly don't exist in the [00:59:31] metaverse and then they have to come [00:59:33] into the world that isn't as stimulating [00:59:34] as that video game and their entire [00:59:37] neuro their entire neural profile is [00:59:39] completely messed up and they ask the [00:59:41] questions what is even real and this is [00:59:43] where they say well i know god for sure [00:59:45] is not real because i can't see god like [00:59:48] i can see the video game in front of me [00:59:50] i know this is a silly and elementary [00:59:52] argument but can you just for a brief [00:59:53] second talk about [00:59:55] how silly the argument is when people [00:59:57] say i can't see god therefore god does [00:59:58] not exist yeah well there's a lot of [01:00:00] things you can't see that you believe in [01:00:02] for example you believe in the laws of [01:00:04] logic you can't see them touch them [01:00:06] taste them but you're using them right [01:00:08] now you believe in your mind have you [01:00:09] ever seen your mind [01:00:12] you're using it right now you believe in [01:00:15] justice have you ever seen justice [01:00:18] oh you may have seen people being [01:00:19] treated justly or unjustly but you've [01:00:22] never seen justice in itself because [01:00:24] justice is not a physical thing you see [01:00:27] you believe in love [01:00:29] have you ever seen love oh you may have [01:00:32] seen people love you may have loved but [01:00:33] you've never seen love in itself in fact [01:00:36] years ago i had a debate couple of [01:00:38] debates with christopher hitchens do you [01:00:39] remember christopher hitchens he was a [01:00:41] brilliant british atheist who sounded [01:00:43] more brilliant than he was because he [01:00:44] had a british accent that's right [01:00:47] yeah used really big words anyway in one [01:00:49] of our debates someone from the audience [01:00:51] a student at the college of new jersey [01:00:53] asked christopher christopher what is [01:00:56] love and christopher being a materialist [01:00:59] meaning all he believed that existed [01:01:01] were molecules in motion he had to come [01:01:03] with come up with a materialistic answer [01:01:05] for love so he thought about it for a [01:01:07] minute and he said love is a chemical [01:01:11] and i said to him christopher don't say [01:01:13] that to your wife [01:01:15] honey do you love me yeah [01:01:17] why because i got the chemical [01:01:20] you know today i have it maybe tomorrow [01:01:22] i won't [01:01:23] no love is not a chemical yet you [01:01:25] believe in it because it's part of [01:01:29] the nature of reality it's a immaterial [01:01:33] virtue grounded in the nature of god by [01:01:36] the way here's another thing you you you [01:01:38] believe in you've never seen gravity [01:01:40] oh frank there's gravity right there [01:01:42] right that's the effect yeah you're not [01:01:44] seeing gravity you're seeing what the [01:01:46] effect you're seeing the effect of [01:01:47] gravity you know we don't even know what [01:01:49] gravity is you realize that [01:01:51] you're not seeing gravity you're seeing [01:01:52] the effect of gravity [01:01:54] you've never seen george washington [01:01:58] yet you believe in him why [01:02:01] because he's left effects behind that [01:02:03] are best explained [01:02:05] by a man who lived from 732 1732 to 1799 [01:02:10] he's left effects behind [01:02:13] some of them are behind us right now [01:02:16] that cause you to believe that this man [01:02:18] existed even though you have never seen [01:02:21] him [01:02:22] same thing is true with jesus you you [01:02:24] may you haven't seen jesus physically [01:02:26] but you believe he existed because he's [01:02:28] left effects behind that are best [01:02:30] explained [01:02:31] by the god man known as jesus [01:02:34] who rose from the dead [01:02:36] 1989 years ago [01:02:38] now that's a perfect segue frank so some [01:02:40] people say okay frank i agree with you [01:02:42] but i'm spiritual okay i'm not religious [01:02:45] and this is kind of a new phenomenon [01:02:47] amongst a lot of our nation's young [01:02:48] people that say okay i believe in a god [01:02:51] but i believe in a unitarian god or a [01:02:54] buddhist god and the bible it's full of [01:02:57] inaccuracies and jesus has been debunked [01:03:01] and what evidence is there frank i mean [01:03:03] come on these are old manuscripts and [01:03:06] they were written by people that wanted [01:03:08] it to be true to confirm old testament [01:03:10] prophecy [01:03:12] how could you frank the hyper-rational [01:03:14] person believe in such a thing like that [01:03:15] when people say things like this first [01:03:17] of all there's like eight different [01:03:18] objections in there thank you you're [01:03:20] welcome thank you you have thank you [01:03:22] wokes minutes [01:03:25] you got to narrow it down first thing [01:03:26] you want to ask is when they say [01:03:28] something like this is first of all what [01:03:31] do you mean the bible has been proven [01:03:33] inaccurate what what evidence do you [01:03:35] have that it has they they typically [01:03:38] might say something like i mean come on [01:03:40] you're trying to tell me you'll be [01:03:41] swallowed by a whale sometime soon [01:03:43] they'll take some of the more um let's [01:03:45] say miraculous okay um interventions of [01:03:48] god that you and i believe so you know [01:03:50] so i might ask so you don't believe in [01:03:51] miracles why not [01:03:53] uh because i've never seen such a [01:03:55] miracle is what they would say or they'd [01:03:57] say it defies the laws of nature okay [01:03:59] and then i would ask [01:04:01] um this universe that you're living in [01:04:03] this universe is a miracle do you do you [01:04:05] know that i mean you don't believe in [01:04:07] miracles this universe is a miracle it [01:04:09] exploded into being out of nothing which [01:04:12] is by the way [01:04:13] why when people say they don't believe [01:04:15] in miracles i normally say look around [01:04:16] you're living in one but i also ask them [01:04:18] what is the greatest miracle in the [01:04:20] bible and normally they'll say something [01:04:21] like jonah or noah [01:04:23] or the resurrection and i'll go no the [01:04:26] greatest miracle in the bible is the [01:04:27] first verse [01:04:29] in the beginning god created the heavens [01:04:31] and the earth if that verse is true [01:04:32] ladies and gentlemen every other verse [01:04:34] is at least possible i mean if it's true [01:04:37] that god created the universe out of [01:04:39] nothing can he raise jesus from the dead [01:04:42] can he do the jonah miracle the noah [01:04:44] miracle can he part the red sea can he [01:04:46] turn water into wine these things are [01:04:48] easy if the first verse of the bible is [01:04:50] true well here's the interesting thing [01:04:52] ladies and gentlemen [01:04:53] even atheists are admitting the evidence [01:04:56] for the first verse [01:04:57] they're admitting that space time and [01:04:59] matter had a beginning out of nothing if [01:05:01] space-time and matter had a beginning [01:05:03] out of nothing now they don't think it's [01:05:05] god but what else could it be [01:05:07] it's got to be a spaceless timeless [01:05:08] immaterial powerful personal intelligent [01:05:10] cause as we mentioned earlier if that is [01:05:13] true [01:05:14] every other verse in the bible is at [01:05:16] least possible and when people say well [01:05:18] i haven't seen a miracle i said you [01:05:19] shouldn't expect to see a lot of [01:05:20] miracles if any why because miracles by [01:05:24] definition have to be rare if they're [01:05:25] going to get our attention if miracles [01:05:27] were occurring all the day all the time [01:05:30] we wouldn't consider them miracles we'd [01:05:32] say hey this stuff just happens all the [01:05:34] time [01:05:35] and think about the miracles that do [01:05:36] happen that we take for granted oh yeah [01:05:38] like life or our ability for all of our [01:05:40] organs to work without us having to [01:05:42] consciously think about it right for [01:05:44] your pancreas and your liver and your [01:05:46] heart and breathing while you sleep [01:05:48] these are miracles inexplicable and we [01:05:50] don't we don't even talk about it in [01:05:52] fact it's evidence of that you're [01:05:53] exactly right in fact how many people in [01:05:54] here and every mother should raise your [01:05:56] hand how many people in here have seen [01:05:57] their own flesh and blood born [01:06:00] some of the dads too right now when you [01:06:02] see your own flesh and blood come out of [01:06:04] another human being or yourself you [01:06:06] don't go [01:06:08] evolution [01:06:09] right you go [01:06:11] this is amazing how does this happen [01:06:15] now it happens every day and we don't [01:06:17] call it a miracle but to charlie's point [01:06:19] in fact a biologist ariel roth once said [01:06:23] god never did a miracle to convince an [01:06:25] atheist because his ordinary works [01:06:27] provide sufficient evidence [01:06:30] like birth [01:06:31] child birth but but let me go back to [01:06:34] the point about miracles they have to be [01:06:36] rare imagine if resurrections occurred [01:06:40] routinely what would the resurrection of [01:06:42] christ mean to us [01:06:44] nothing you go to some guy and you go [01:06:46] hey jesus roasting the dead to prove he [01:06:48] was god and the guy goes so what uncle [01:06:50] leroy just rose from the dead two weeks [01:06:52] ago [01:06:53] right [01:06:54] now i got to give the inheritance back [01:06:56] no [01:06:57] it's gotta be a rare event if it's going [01:07:00] to get your attention [01:07:02] so miracles if they first of all let's [01:07:05] clear up one thing [01:07:06] i i believe miracles occur today but [01:07:09] they don't have to occur today for for [01:07:11] christianity to be true there doesn't [01:07:13] have to be one miracle since jesus and [01:07:15] the apostles for christianity to be true [01:07:17] so some atheist says well i got to see a [01:07:19] miracle believe in christianity no you [01:07:20] don't [01:07:22] first of all the universe exploded into [01:07:24] being out of nothing secondly jesus rose [01:07:26] from the dead there's great evidence for [01:07:28] that if those two things are true [01:07:29] christianity is true mark it down [01:07:32] and so frank some of the other [01:07:33] objections i'll try not to put eight in [01:07:35] a box is how can we trust [01:07:38] matthew mark luke and john [01:07:40] is that we're told if it's old it's [01:07:42] unreliable from a historical standpoint [01:07:45] how accurate how exceptional are the [01:07:48] first manuscripts that we have of [01:07:50] matthew mark luke and john well that's [01:07:52] called chronological snobbery that's a [01:07:53] c.s lewis uh [01:07:55] point where he says just because it's [01:07:56] old doesn't mean it's wrong in fact we [01:07:58] got to get back to the old that's what [01:07:59] we're doing here at the dream [01:08:01] dream city church right with the turning [01:08:03] point academy what do you call in the [01:08:04] academy by the way dream city christian [01:08:06] a turning point academy turning point [01:08:08] academy okay we're going back to the [01:08:10] classics ladies and gentlemen right [01:08:13] but look the manuscript evidence is [01:08:16] incredibly strong for the new testament [01:08:19] if you were to take all the manuscripts [01:08:21] we have first for say an ancient greek [01:08:24] writer somebody like josephus and stack [01:08:26] them up they would be about [01:08:28] four feet high if you were to take all [01:08:30] of the [01:08:31] manuscripts for the new testament and [01:08:33] stack them up they would be over a mile [01:08:35] high [01:08:36] because the scribes copied the new [01:08:40] testament and of course the old [01:08:41] testament scribes copy the old testament [01:08:43] the jewish scribes did we know what the [01:08:45] original said there's no real doubt [01:08:47] there the bigger question is how do we [01:08:49] know the originals telling us the truth [01:08:52] that's the more interesting question we [01:08:53] can do with that if you want and just an [01:08:55] interest i want to dive in on one point [01:08:57] that for me was super um [01:09:00] let's just say persuasive [01:09:02] when [01:09:03] when the gospels go through the story of [01:09:07] jesus being you know discovered [01:09:10] post-resurrection who discovers him [01:09:13] and why does this actually validate the [01:09:16] truth of the gospel if you were trying [01:09:18] to create a lie this would be the [01:09:20] dumbest lie you've ever created yeah [01:09:22] this is a great point charlotte we have [01:09:23] it in both books i don't have enough [01:09:24] faith to be an atheist and phenomenal [01:09:26] heroes really good um there's something [01:09:28] known as the principle of embarrassment [01:09:30] it goes like this if there's something [01:09:31] embarrassing to the author or authors [01:09:34] it's probably true why because you're [01:09:36] not going to invent things that make you [01:09:38] look bad you might invent things that [01:09:40] make you look good but not bad in fact [01:09:42] let me ask you guys a question how many [01:09:43] people in here have ever lied to make [01:09:46] yourself look good [01:09:49] if you don't have your hand up right now [01:09:51] you're lying [01:09:52] to make yourself look good [01:09:55] and it's not working we know you're [01:09:56] lying all right how many people in here [01:09:58] have ever lied to make yourself look bad [01:10:01] yeah you don't do that you might lie to [01:10:03] make yourself look good but you don't [01:10:05] lie to make yourself look bad now the [01:10:07] new testament documents and this is true [01:10:08] the old testament as well but the new [01:10:10] testament documents are filled with [01:10:12] embarrassing details they never would [01:10:13] have invented charlie just mentioned one [01:10:15] of them [01:10:16] first of all [01:10:18] the new testament writers depict [01:10:20] themselves as cowards right they run [01:10:23] away at the crucifixion and who are the [01:10:27] brave ones that go down to the tomb and [01:10:29] discover it's empty [01:10:30] the women that's right ladies you can [01:10:33] give yourselves a hand [01:10:34] i am woman hear me roar [01:10:38] now who wrote the new testament [01:10:40] documents down [01:10:42] men [01:10:43] now what man [01:10:46] is going to invent [01:10:48] that he was hiding for fear of the jews [01:10:50] why the women went down and discovered [01:10:52] the empty tomb would any man here invent [01:10:53] that [01:10:54] no if i was inventing it i'd make myself [01:10:56] look good wouldn't you i mean i'd write [01:10:58] down something like this let's see we [01:11:00] marched right down there and we [01:11:01] overpowered that elite roman guard yeah [01:11:03] that sounds good [01:11:05] john said [01:11:06] get out [01:11:08] peter roundhouse kicked him [01:11:11] thomas said we'll be back [01:11:15] no doubt and then on sunday morning we [01:11:17] march right down to the tomb [01:11:19] and we saw jesus who congratulates [01:11:21] congratulated us on our great faith and [01:11:23] then we went and comforted the trembling [01:11:26] women right [01:11:27] i would never say i was mr sissypants [01:11:30] why the women went down discovered the [01:11:31] empty tomb and what charlie's pointing [01:11:34] out is [01:11:36] in that culture a woman's testimony was [01:11:38] not considered on par with that of a man [01:11:41] so if you're making up the new testament [01:11:43] story you'd only have the men be the [01:11:45] first witnesses [01:11:47] but all four gospels say the women were [01:11:50] the first witnesses which is telling us [01:11:52] what they really were as embarrassing as [01:11:56] it was to the men and how it didn't help [01:11:58] their case at all in fact one of the [01:12:00] women was a formerly demon possessed [01:12:02] women woman oh gee what a great witness [01:12:05] huh she's very credible [01:12:07] they're not making this up in fact i had [01:12:09] a lady want to come up to me once [01:12:10] charlie she said frank i know why jesus [01:12:12] appeared to the women first i said why [01:12:14] and she said [01:12:15] because he wanted to get the story out [01:12:22] i said that is an excellent point [01:12:25] i had not thought of that because ladies [01:12:27] when your man comes home from work does [01:12:28] he say much [01:12:31] there could have been a nuclear [01:12:32] explosion down at the plant [01:12:34] he's not going to tell you [01:12:36] you'll see it on the news before you [01:12:38] hear it from him [01:12:40] you'll be watching the news going [01:12:42] hey [01:12:42] oh yeah i forgot to tell you [01:12:45] the nuke blew up [01:12:47] i've been hot for three days [01:12:50] what's for dinner he's not gonna tell [01:12:52] you [01:12:53] there's tons of this stuff embarrassing [01:12:55] stuff they never would have invented [01:12:57] they're not making it up and so it has [01:12:59] to be true because it also from it took [01:13:02] several women for even to be considered [01:13:04] to be true in a court of law and so it [01:13:06] actually shows the um authenticity of [01:13:10] the gospels so we don't have a lot of [01:13:11] time before we go to question and answer [01:13:13] but another objection frank and i'll [01:13:15] just throw two or three at you is that [01:13:17] maybe jesus was never actually killed [01:13:19] that he was still alive when he was put [01:13:21] in the tomb or the second one his body [01:13:23] was stolen by his believers or the third [01:13:26] one is that this was kind of a vast [01:13:28] conspiracy right so [01:13:31] i know that's a lot but let's deal with [01:13:33] the conspiracy first [01:13:35] in fact it was justice antonin scalia [01:13:37] who in one opinion said this we all know [01:13:39] that the bumbling apologists or the [01:13:41] evangelists these are the people that [01:13:43] wrote down the new testament invented [01:13:45] the resurrection story in a sinister [01:13:47] in a sinister attempt to get themselves [01:13:49] all martyred i mean like why would you [01:13:51] invent a story [01:13:53] that's going to get you killed if it's [01:13:55] not true [01:13:56] it makes no sense at all first of all [01:13:59] the empty tomb [01:14:00] was empty because jesus came out of it [01:14:03] it wasn't because his disciples stole [01:14:04] the body why would they steal the body [01:14:06] and then say he had risen from the dead [01:14:08] again to get themselves kicked out of [01:14:10] the synagogue and then beaten tortured [01:14:11] and killed that doesn't make any sense [01:14:14] there were roman guards on duty and by [01:14:16] the way do you know that you know what [01:14:17] their their explanation was for why the [01:14:20] tomb was empty [01:14:21] it was the disciples came and stole the [01:14:23] body while the guards were asleep now if [01:14:25] you think about that for more than five [01:14:26] seconds you realize how stupid that is [01:14:29] number one [01:14:30] if you're a roman guard on duty and you [01:14:32] fall asleep on watch what happens to you [01:14:35] you're executed number two if you're a [01:14:37] roman guard on duty and you fall asleep [01:14:40] how do you know what happened [01:14:44] what happened well we were asleep see [01:14:46] and while we were sleeping we noticed [01:14:48] that the disciples came right down here [01:14:50] and no that doesn't make any sense at [01:14:53] all and number three why steal the body [01:14:56] to get to get yourselves killed in fact [01:14:57] here's a really important point we need [01:14:59] to make [01:15:00] a lot of people say well there are any [01:15:02] non-christian writers who talk about [01:15:03] jesus and the apostles there are i don't [01:15:05] have time to get into it now it's all in [01:15:07] the book but you know what the question [01:15:09] implicitly assumes quite frequently is [01:15:12] that you really can't trust the new [01:15:13] testament writers because you know the [01:15:14] new testament writers were biased [01:15:17] because you see they were believers you [01:15:19] only got to look at the non-christian [01:15:21] writers to really know what the truth is [01:15:23] think about that ladies and gentlemen [01:15:25] that is silly why what did the new [01:15:28] testament writers who were all jews by [01:15:30] the way with the exception of luke luke [01:15:32] is the only gentile all the writers of [01:15:35] the new testament are jewish believers [01:15:37] in yahweh who thought they were god's [01:15:39] chosen people why would they invent the [01:15:42] resurrection story a story they didn't [01:15:44] believe could be true because they [01:15:46] didn't believe a man could claim to be [01:15:48] god that would be blasphemy and they [01:15:49] didn't believe someone could resurrect [01:15:51] in the middle of time they knew we would [01:15:54] all resurrect at the end of time [01:15:55] according to daniel 12 these are things [01:15:57] they didn't believe why would they say [01:16:00] jesus rose from the dead [01:16:04] and claimed to be god if [01:16:07] he didn't rise from the dead and didn't [01:16:08] claim to be god what did they get out of [01:16:10] this [01:16:11] you know a friend of mine a mutual [01:16:12] friend you may know jay warner wallace [01:16:14] he's a cold case homicide detective he's [01:16:16] been on dateline more than any other [01:16:18] homicide detective because he solves [01:16:20] murders decades old he's also written a [01:16:23] book called cold case christianity where [01:16:25] he applies his homicide skills to the [01:16:27] greatest homicide of all time the [01:16:29] homicide of jesus anyway he says when he [01:16:31] finds a murdered body he says there's [01:16:33] only three reasons why that guy's dead [01:16:36] not a thousand reasons [01:16:38] just three or a combination of these [01:16:39] three there was either a sex issue a [01:16:42] money issue or a power issue [01:16:45] sex money and power are the three things [01:16:47] that can motivate people to murder in [01:16:49] fact they're the same three things that [01:16:51] cause any of us to sin why sex money and [01:16:53] power are great things but they're so [01:16:55] great that sometimes we'll take [01:16:56] shortcuts to get them [01:16:58] and so [01:17:00] jim says if you're gonna say these [01:17:02] writers made it up you gotta find one of [01:17:04] those three motivators so let's look at [01:17:06] the new testament writers for a minute [01:17:08] ladies and gentlemen [01:17:09] did the new testament writers the [01:17:11] apostles get real popular with the [01:17:13] ladies [01:17:14] for saying jesus had resurrected from [01:17:16] the dead no they didn't get sex did they [01:17:19] get money [01:17:21] no they weren't on tv asking for money [01:17:24] did they get power [01:17:26] no they got persecuted paul had power [01:17:28] when he was in a a pharisee persecuting [01:17:31] the church as soon as he becomes a [01:17:33] believer he's persecuted they didn't get [01:17:36] sex they didn't get money they didn't [01:17:38] get power why did they say it was true [01:17:41] because it really happened [01:17:43] in fact this is going to sound really [01:17:45] weird [01:17:46] stick with me i believe the bible's [01:17:47] inerrant and i know you probably do too [01:17:49] but this is going to sound almost [01:17:51] heretical it's not stick with me [01:17:54] christianity is not true because a [01:17:56] series of documents we put under one [01:17:59] binding we call the bible says it's true [01:18:02] in fact christianity would be true if [01:18:04] the bible never existed [01:18:08] you go how can that be ladies and [01:18:10] gentlemen do you realize there were [01:18:11] thousands of christians before a line of [01:18:13] the new testament was ever written [01:18:16] why because they witnessed the [01:18:18] resurrected jesus they wrote it down [01:18:20] later [01:18:21] in other words christianity did not [01:18:23] originate with a book christianity [01:18:26] originated with an event the [01:18:28] resurrection [01:18:29] and then as a result of the resurrection [01:18:32] these guys who were jews wrote it down [01:18:34] and went to their death saying it was [01:18:36] true [01:18:37] in fact you could put it this way the [01:18:39] new testament writers did not create the [01:18:41] resurrection the resurrection created [01:18:43] the new testament writers [01:18:47] it's well said [01:18:49] so in closing here frank before we get [01:18:51] to some questions here can we talk about [01:18:54] some of the implications that the kind [01:18:57] of death of god as nietzsche would put [01:18:58] it have politically especially um you've [01:19:01] written and spoken openly about [01:19:03] socialism about totalitarianism can you [01:19:06] talk about how important it is that we [01:19:09] frame this in a biblical context as we [01:19:11] then get some questions and answers [01:19:14] a lot of times and as a result of the [01:19:16] roe v wade decision people are going to [01:19:17] say this this is not a theocracy [01:19:20] you can't impose your religion on people [01:19:23] let me point one thing out we're not [01:19:24] imposing religion [01:19:26] we're not legislating religion we're not [01:19:28] telling people where when how or if to [01:19:30] worship we're not telling people they [01:19:32] have to be part of a church or they have [01:19:33] to believe in certain things about god [01:19:36] we're not trying to legislate religion [01:19:38] we are trying to legislate morality and [01:19:40] all laws legislate morality every law [01:19:43] declares one behavior right and the [01:19:44] opposite behavior wrong in fact the [01:19:46] people who say they have a right to an [01:19:47] abortion that's a moral position [01:19:50] they're trying to put that into law to [01:19:52] say a woman has an absolute right to [01:19:54] basically kill her child i think what we [01:19:56] ought to start saying here charlie is [01:19:58] this [01:19:59] on this whole abortion issue if your [01:20:01] solution to your problem is a dead baby [01:20:04] you have the wrong solution [01:20:06] that's the shortest way you can say it [01:20:09] there is never a solution if it requires [01:20:12] a dead baby that's not a solution [01:20:16] so we're not trying to legislate [01:20:18] religion we are trying to legislate [01:20:20] morality and all laws legislate morality [01:20:22] 25 years ago dr geisler and i wrote a [01:20:24] book called legislating morality that's [01:20:26] what it's all about and one of the most [01:20:28] articulate defenders of the moral point [01:20:31] of view [01:20:32] without having to say you have to be a [01:20:34] believer is sitting right next to me [01:20:36] he does this every day on the air around [01:20:39] college campuses around churches [01:20:42] and so [01:20:44] i'm privileged to be here [01:20:46] at this event and i want you guys to [01:20:48] continue to support charlie because the [01:20:50] work he does is so important but to go [01:20:52] to the core your question if we lose [01:20:55] self-evident truths grounded in our [01:20:57] creator [01:20:58] there's only two ways to govern you can [01:21:01] govern by the truth by principle or you [01:21:04] can govern by power [01:21:06] and if you notice [01:21:08] the left is governing purely by power [01:21:11] it's not principle it's power we will [01:21:15] shut you up because we don't want to [01:21:17] hear your principles we don't want to [01:21:19] hear your truth we don't want to have a [01:21:21] debate we want to cancel the debate and [01:21:24] just impose our will on you [01:21:26] you notice [01:21:28] that they don't want to debate they [01:21:29] don't want to really defend their view [01:21:32] they just want to impose their view [01:21:34] because they can't defend their view [01:21:36] without god without self-evident truths [01:21:40] there's no way to say you have a right [01:21:42] to anything everything's just a matter [01:21:44] of opinion so what are they going to do [01:21:45] they're going to pose their opinions on [01:21:46] you using power isn't frank great by the [01:21:49] way super it's credible [01:21:51] so let's start lining up for some [01:21:52] questions everybody if we can [01:21:55] i want to just plug the books again for [01:21:57] the live stream it's i don't have enough [01:21:59] faith to be an atheist which is just [01:22:01] phenomenal and it goes into just some [01:22:03] info just terrific detail about the [01:22:05] resurrection about the bible and about [01:22:08] any questions you might have about [01:22:09] christianity and then frank's new book [01:22:12] called hollywood heroes [01:22:14] which is how your favorite movies reveal [01:22:16] god we're going to be doing a whole um [01:22:18] thing together on that so if you guys [01:22:20] want to line up in these two aisles here [01:22:22] for any questions and do we have a first [01:22:25] taker in either the lines i think we've [01:22:27] answered everything by the way the books [01:22:28] are available on the book table and i [01:22:30] want you guys to know that all the [01:22:31] proceeds from the sale of the books will [01:22:33] go to feed needy children [01:22:35] mine okay just so you know okay [01:22:38] that's very funny all right we'll start [01:22:40] here [01:22:42] all right [01:22:42] um my name is sarah so i am the [01:22:44] children's pastor here at dream city [01:22:46] church and you touched on something [01:22:49] earlier um you talked about how our our [01:22:53] um some of the stories in the bible like [01:22:56] jonah and the well and different stories [01:22:58] and miracles that happened in the bible [01:23:00] and how [01:23:02] people [01:23:02] say they don't believe in god because [01:23:04] how could these things have really [01:23:06] happened right and we've heard that in [01:23:08] in kids ministry several years ago we [01:23:10] had kids that were saying [01:23:13] these are not true stories these are [01:23:15] make believe so now we start out by [01:23:17] saying [01:23:18] this is true this is god's word god's [01:23:20] word is true but my question is [01:23:24] and i hope that there's a lot of other [01:23:25] pastors and and leaders listening today [01:23:28] but my question is why is it so [01:23:30] important that we [01:23:33] um that we teach the truth that we [01:23:35] communicate correctly to our kids at an [01:23:38] early age that the bible is true [01:23:42] i think we want to show them why it's [01:23:43] true not just claim it's true because [01:23:46] then they get to those stories and they [01:23:48] say well i haven't seen this as charlie [01:23:50] said earlier or this seems outlandish to [01:23:53] me [01:23:53] look why do i believe that jonah [01:23:56] the story of joan is true and the story [01:23:58] of noah is true because jesus believed [01:24:00] it was true and i just have a personal [01:24:03] policy yeah he mentioned it applied it [01:24:05] to his own life i just have a personal [01:24:06] policy if somebody predicts and [01:24:08] accomplishes his own resurrection from [01:24:10] the dead i just trust whatever the guy [01:24:12] says [01:24:13] okay [01:24:14] so it's on jesus's authority that i [01:24:16] believe the bible's an aaron it's not [01:24:18] just because i can answer every possible [01:24:20] objection although many of them we can [01:24:23] answer [01:24:24] but it's because jesus [01:24:26] said the entire old testament was the [01:24:28] word of god and he promised the new [01:24:30] testament so it's on jesus authority [01:24:32] look the whole thing is contingent on [01:24:34] jesus rising from the dead if he's risen [01:24:36] from the dead [01:24:38] christianity is true if he hasn't risen [01:24:40] from the dead we're wasting our time [01:24:42] here today as the apostle paul actually [01:24:44] said in first corinthians 15 he says if [01:24:47] jesus hasn't risen from the dead your [01:24:48] faith is in vain so we teach evidence [01:24:51] that christianity is true and on jesus [01:24:54] authority we say the bible is an errand [01:24:56] yeah and i'll i'll kind of piggyback on [01:24:58] that for it depends how young they are i [01:25:00] mean seven eight nine year olds i can't [01:25:03] imagine you're getting super critical [01:25:05] backlash that would be something new um [01:25:08] but [01:25:09] someone should talk to them about some [01:25:10] things they believe around christmas too [01:25:12] but that's a separate issue but um [01:25:14] but yeah i [01:25:16] i will say this that for me personally [01:25:18] the more i learned about biology and [01:25:20] physics the actually the more it [01:25:22] strengthened my faith [01:25:24] when you really dive deep into how [01:25:27] complexly made we are it is the most [01:25:30] patently insane improbable argument to [01:25:33] say there was not an intelligent [01:25:34] designer behind it it just how our [01:25:37] systems work together from the brain [01:25:40] itself to our conscious and unconscious [01:25:42] mind it's just it goes on and on and on [01:25:44] and so look i'm not professing to say [01:25:47] how to communicate that to a seven eight [01:25:48] or nine year old but what frank is [01:25:50] saying is totally true which is laying [01:25:52] the framework and the foundation is hey [01:25:54] human beings what you're looking at this [01:25:56] is a miracle [01:25:57] this is way more incredible than going [01:26:00] into a whale you're talking about an [01:26:02] autonomous being that has consciousness [01:26:05] agency the ability to reason you don't [01:26:07] have to think about any of the natural [01:26:09] things you have to do digestion [01:26:12] breathing [01:26:13] blood flow do you have to think to have [01:26:15] your heart beat no it just happens [01:26:16] automatically those systems built [01:26:18] together to say that came through a roll [01:26:20] of the dice or an accident it's it's [01:26:23] it's not even illogical you're living on [01:26:25] a different planet and so you just look [01:26:28] at the human being [01:26:29] and you say whoa [01:26:31] if that can be designed yes the red sea [01:26:33] can be parted yes water can be walked on [01:26:37] yes disease can be cured because this in [01:26:39] my personal opinion is the great miracle [01:26:42] that is standing right in front of us [01:26:43] that we're choosing to ignore [01:26:45] yes thank you thank you [01:26:52] hi thank you [01:26:54] for everything um but my question a [01:26:56] friend of mine today said that she was [01:26:58] talking to a five-year-old i think it [01:27:00] was a grandchild [01:27:02] and said something about jesus and the [01:27:05] little girl said who's jesus [01:27:07] and she was floored so that and then [01:27:12] there's a lot of people that are [01:27:13] grandparents not me thank god but their [01:27:16] kids don't believe in jesus and they [01:27:19] don't know how to talk to their [01:27:21] grandkids about jesus or can you talk to [01:27:24] that [01:27:25] yeah that's [01:27:27] a really difficult problem as a [01:27:29] grandparent if you're trying to educate [01:27:31] your grandchildren and the parents [01:27:33] aren't interested [01:27:34] in your [01:27:36] beliefs [01:27:37] being shared with them that's a hard [01:27:39] really hard problem [01:27:41] i might want to talk more to the parents [01:27:43] and ask them [01:27:45] i'm reminded what c.s lewis famously [01:27:46] said c.s lewis said [01:27:48] christianity is either the most [01:27:51] important fact in the universe [01:27:53] or it's irrelevant one thing it can't be [01:27:56] as moderately important [01:27:58] look think about that if christianity is [01:28:00] true if jesus really rose from the dead [01:28:01] and by trusting in him your sins can be [01:28:04] forgiven and you can be in eternity with [01:28:06] him and your loved ones who have also [01:28:08] trusted in christ if that really is true [01:28:12] then what could be more important than [01:28:13] eternity right if it's not true it's [01:28:16] irrelevant so i always ask people if it [01:28:19] were true would you become a christian [01:28:21] and i would ask that of my i've asked [01:28:23] out of my own kids obviously they are [01:28:24] christians but you get the idea [01:28:26] uh and it's [01:28:28] this idea that you're gonna let your [01:28:30] kids make up their own minds first of [01:28:31] all kids are gonna make up their own [01:28:33] minds anyway but you have to guide them [01:28:35] if you don't guide them guesses guess [01:28:37] what's gonna guide them [01:28:39] this glowing rectangle that we all have [01:28:42] do you realize that i i know we have a [01:28:45] big problem of fatherless homes in [01:28:47] america but even homes with fathers in [01:28:49] them [01:28:51] that an average teenage boy [01:28:54] will in a week spend 30 minutes in [01:28:58] meaningful conversation with his father [01:29:01] while he spends 44 hours watching tv [01:29:04] surfing the internet or playing video [01:29:06] games [01:29:08] gee which is going to have more [01:29:09] influence [01:29:11] so we're going to have to make a [01:29:12] concerted effort to reach our kids and [01:29:14] then our grandkids as well we have [01:29:17] resources on our website [01:29:18] crossexamine.org that can help you do [01:29:20] that tp usa faith has resources as well [01:29:23] this school right here the dream city [01:29:25] school has resources so use those [01:29:27] resources to try and reach them young [01:29:29] and i'll just kind of say one or two [01:29:31] things on top of that which is really [01:29:33] important [01:29:34] what is education so [01:29:36] education comes from a latin word which [01:29:39] means to lead forth lead forth into [01:29:41] truth [01:29:42] the way we educate young people today [01:29:44] and dream city christian attorney point [01:29:46] academy is going to be the exception to [01:29:48] this [01:29:49] is we some we kind of democratize the [01:29:52] education where we ask eight-year-olds [01:29:55] or ten-year-olds or even 12 years 15 [01:29:56] year olds what do you feel about this a [01:29:59] completely irrelevant question by the [01:30:01] way and many of you have heard me say [01:30:02] this before it it does not matter what a [01:30:05] young person thinks about anything what [01:30:07] matters is is it true [01:30:10] what matters is what is beautiful what [01:30:12] is good now some of you might say well [01:30:14] charlie that's rather insensitive [01:30:16] if you extrapolate [01:30:18] does what does an eight-year-old feel [01:30:20] then yes you're gonna have a bunch of [01:30:21] men who think they're women by the time [01:30:23] they're 14. [01:40:01] i'm 16 68 and a half [01:40:03] frank looking back over your life [01:40:06] to give you some perspective [01:40:08] where do you think we're going to be in [01:40:10] five years [01:40:11] or 10 years [01:40:13] as a nation [01:40:16] i i i'm not a prophet i don't know it [01:40:19] depends on whether well charlie you [01:40:21] would pick this up here because i heard [01:40:23] you talking about this the other night [01:40:24] that we may have turned a corner charlie [01:40:26] yeah so [01:40:27] i'm if you're asking about the nation [01:40:29] kind of right as the country i i think [01:40:31] that [01:40:33] it's impossible to know and that should [01:40:35] be very comforting [01:40:36] so i do a lot of traveling i do a lot of [01:40:38] speaking i did 330 speaking events last [01:40:41] year all across the country [01:40:43] on the road non-stop and [01:40:46] thank you um [01:40:47] no you should be applauding my wife [01:40:49] that's who you should be applauding by [01:40:50] the way erica and here's what i'll say [01:40:53] is that [01:40:55] there is a i believe an unclean spirit [01:40:59] that sometimes comes into conservative [01:41:01] grassroots patriot circles [01:41:03] as if they've got it all figured out and [01:41:05] that this ship is going down [01:41:07] and it really doesn't matter they're [01:41:09] like yeah i'll vote [01:41:10] i'll show up but i kind of say oh [01:41:12] charlie come on you've studied the [01:41:14] romans you've studied the other empires [01:41:16] we're done [01:41:17] and i think that is very dangerous in [01:41:19] fact i think it's wrong i think it's [01:41:21] unbiblical i think that we must reject [01:41:24] that totally and completely and i'll [01:41:26] give you a couple reasons why as long as [01:41:28] you [01:41:29] and i have agency free will and choice [01:41:33] i'm not going to put up with that sort [01:41:35] of premise it's not going to so i'm [01:41:36] going to do everything i possibly can [01:41:38] number two [01:41:40] is that there's never been a nation like [01:41:42] america period [01:41:43] and so therefore any sort of the kind of [01:41:46] projections or predictions it's [01:41:49] impossible to know how a self-governing [01:41:52] nation will fall you might be able to [01:41:54] guess but you have zero roadmap to show [01:41:57] that period don't don't lecture me about [01:41:59] ancient greece or about the roman and or [01:42:02] the roman republic it pales in [01:42:03] comparison to the experiment in liberty [01:42:06] we have right now so there's a lot that [01:42:08] we don't know what we do know is this [01:42:10] though when you have even a little bit [01:42:12] of liberty it gives you a great chance [01:42:14] to then reclaim it a little bit so if we [01:42:17] still have speech we still have the [01:42:18] ability to assemble and spread ideas i [01:42:21] think that a revival is not just you [01:42:24] know likely i think it's inevitable we [01:42:26] have too many courageous awesome people [01:42:28] that are speaking truth right now and [01:42:30] finally stepping up i believe we're [01:42:32] going to turn that corner i really do [01:42:35] i believe that those of us that are [01:42:37] christians and conservative or whatever [01:42:39] label you want to put on it right not on [01:42:41] the other side whatever that is that are [01:42:43] that are building things and doing [01:42:44] things i see great hope and optimism am [01:42:47] i being foolishly optimistic no i could [01:42:49] go on for an hour of what we're up [01:42:51] against right they control the fbi they [01:42:53] control the cia they control academia [01:42:56] they control big media okay genesis 11 [01:42:58] you try to build superstructures up [01:43:00] against god god will scatter you into [01:43:02] confusion and not take that well but god [01:43:04] will always reward the courageous and [01:43:06] the righteous so to answer your question [01:43:09] if i told you i'm super optimistic about [01:43:11] the future of america i said you know [01:43:12] what we got this thing in the bag many [01:43:14] of you would go home and you'd say hey i [01:43:16] don't have to work i don't have to vote [01:43:18] because charlie says we have it in the [01:43:19] bag [01:43:20] if i said hey i'm super pessimistic [01:43:22] about the future of america you'd go [01:43:24] home and say that's it i'm done [01:43:26] i'm just going to keep buying those [01:43:27] pillows and that will be my contribution [01:43:30] [Applause] [01:43:32] i will sleep well through the revolution [01:43:36] and no back pain thanks to relief factor [01:43:39] right [01:43:43] no the answer is [01:43:45] we don't know and i think that's the [01:43:47] most empowering thing but here's what i [01:43:48] can say the trajectory is good [01:43:51] for those of us that for as far as where [01:43:53] the grassroots is i think we're going to [01:43:55] be up against the big getting crushed in [01:43:57] the next five years i think the theme [01:43:59] we're about to see i think you're about [01:44:00] to see big government be scattered at a [01:44:02] confusion big media gets scattered into [01:44:04] confusion i think big finance i think [01:44:07] bigness is about to have its day in [01:44:09] court and the small rambunctious citizen [01:44:12] that has been building steadily and [01:44:13] loyally and righteously i think is going [01:44:15] to rise to a way that [01:44:18] people never would have imagined [01:44:20] one one one last thing on this [01:44:24] it is not our responsibility to win [01:44:26] anything it is our responsibility to be [01:44:29] faithful [01:44:30] so even if you're jeremiah and his [01:44:32] cistern and the whole nation is turned [01:44:35] against you [01:44:36] you just keep preaching the truth and [01:44:39] doing the truth [01:44:40] because your sanctification is part of [01:44:43] the whole process it's not just about [01:44:46] trying to sanctify the nation [01:44:49] you're trying to sanctify yourself and [01:44:51] become more like jesus regardless of [01:44:53] whether or not you're by the world [01:44:55] standards victorious [01:44:57] so just do what's right leave the [01:44:58] results to god thank you for being here [01:45:00] tonight thank you [01:45:01] [Applause] [01:45:04] so in closing everybody frank has these [01:45:05] books outside there also just an [01:45:07] announcement uh we're now on three hours [01:45:09] of local phoenix radio uh the charlie [01:45:11] kirk show uh am 960. uh we're on nine to [01:45:16] ten and then fast forward from six to [01:45:18] eight p.m so if you're in the car uh [01:45:20] supporting local radio i think is super [01:45:22] important i'll just make one pledge just [01:45:24] one pitch on this local radio is going [01:45:26] to be the hardest thing for the sensors [01:45:28] to shut off literally um just from a [01:45:30] technical standpoint radio is something [01:45:32] that unless they literally take down the [01:45:34] towers right and so supporting local [01:45:36] radio don't forget that it's i think can [01:45:38] actually have a revival in a couple [01:45:40] years and frank you're on radio stations [01:45:42] across the country yeah we're on the [01:45:43] american family radio network but just [01:45:44] go to uh our website crossexamine.org [01:45:47] you can see our podcast is called i [01:45:49] don't have enough faith to be an atheist [01:45:50] and we're going to have
