[01:12:24] um to be bold and to have that courage
[01:12:26] because there were so many like this
[01:12:29] young lady next to me just said there's
[01:12:30] so many closet conservatives around
[01:12:33] school how do we Inspire them and and
[01:12:38] give them the courage that they need to
[01:12:40] speak up for truth and for common sense

[01:13:27] kids are moved on and they're in college

[01:30:43] my mom was like what they're calling you
[01:30:45] a white supremacist you're not even

[01:30:52] um and I'm like I know Mom aren't they

[01:30:57] it's like why are they burning down
[01:30:59] buildings this is crazy I'm like

[01:31:06] said sometimes you're not going to be
[01:31:08] able to really like get through to
[01:31:09] somebody and explain something to them
[01:31:11] and the best example I always give
[01:31:12] people is like my character with my mom
[01:31:14] and allowing her to come to her own
[01:31:16] conclusions and walk her through that
[01:31:18] and I stopped having debates with her I
[01:31:21] stopped trying to convince her that
[01:31:22] Trump's not a racist I stopped trying to
[01:31:24] say this and that I stopped all of that
[01:31:27] and then she just saw my life
[01:31:29] she just saw my life and she has no
[01:31:32] excuse she has no argument against it
[01:31:35] and her eyes are just wide open so I
[01:31:37] always tell people
[01:31:39] um that's the best way you could go if
[01:31:41] you're trying to win someone over like
[01:31:42] that your character will definitely win
[01:31:44] them over but like I said there's still
[01:31:46] a part of me that will roast akami on
[01:31:48] the spot if they want to go after
[01:31:49] children I gotta always say that so

[01:32:01] just basically help them get through

[01:33:04] you know maybe a conversation will come

[01:33:08] in each other I think that's being lost

[01:33:44] is it possible to have like a friendship

[01:33:52] always asking people like it's just it
[01:33:54] really does come down to some basic
[01:33:55] human behaviors which get lost
[01:33:58] and a lot of technology and technology
[01:34:00] is not bad I'm just saying sometimes I
[01:34:03] think it needs to just like go away
[01:34:06] so we could like connect as human beings
[01:34:08] like you know you jack in and you're
[01:34:10] just right there you know so

[01:34:15] I would try and and cultivate something
[01:34:17] like that with my friends

[01:34:20] because everyone's just playing fortnite

[01:34:30] always working we're going going it's
[01:34:31] like hey why don't we go do something
[01:34:32] for once just like hang out be together
[01:34:34] and then eventually Something's Gonna
[01:34:36] Come up where you will be there for
[01:34:38] someone and that it always comes up dude
[01:34:40] and that's how you win people over man

[01:34:54] um ages like three all the way up till
[01:34:56] teens so all types of Ages
[01:35:00] um and something that like I and I know
[01:35:02] some of my other co-workers have been
[01:35:04] faced with especially recently because
[01:35:06] of covid is you know you have these
[01:35:09] little kids coming in and they're
[01:35:11] wearing masks and they're saying all
[01:35:13] types of things
[01:35:14] um or even like I've had kids talk about
[01:35:17] abortion which is obviously so
[01:35:19] heartbreaking to hear
[01:35:21] um it's wild man but it's like other
[01:35:24] than prayer because obviously prayer is
[01:35:26] very powerful like when it comes to
[01:35:27] children like what is your advice
[01:35:30] because you don't want to overstep
[01:35:31] obviously you know parents like have
[01:35:34] that role to raise their children and
[01:35:37] obviously do what they think is right
[01:35:39] their heart behind things is usually in
[01:35:41] the right place I would say
[01:35:43] um
[01:35:44] but when I'm seeing these kids every
[01:35:46] week and I'm faced with certain
[01:35:47] situations like what is your like do you
[01:35:51] have any I guess advice for those types
[01:35:53] of things well being a teacher when I
[01:35:55] was a youth pastor the most powerful
[01:35:57] thing I could ever have was having a
[01:35:59] great relationship with the parents
[01:36:01] if any of you are trying to be in youth
[01:36:03] ministry I'll tell you that's a
[01:36:05] Secret
[01:36:07] you have a really strong relationship
[01:36:09] with these parents it goes a long way so
[01:36:12] if you could somehow build that trust
[01:36:14] with parents somehow I don't know you
[01:36:17] pray about it figure it out
[01:36:19] you could somehow build a relationship
[01:36:20] with the parents of the kids that you're
[01:36:23] around or you're taking care of they'll
[01:36:25] be open to having conversations that
[01:36:27] concern you because at the end of the
[01:36:29] day it is the parents responsibility
[01:36:31] always so I always tell people that are
[01:36:34] teachers that are in these kind of
[01:36:35] positions that are trusted positions but
[01:36:37] don't get it twisted if you get a kid
[01:36:39] there that's saying hey like I'm being
[01:36:41] abused you go and you handle that you
[01:36:44] expose those parents
[01:36:46] um but the most powerful thing you could
[01:36:48] do is have a strong relationship with
[01:36:50] the parents because if they trust you
[01:36:52] they're going to be willing to hear what
[01:36:53] you have to say
[01:36:54] if you really do have that relationship
[01:36:57] with them doesn't just always come down
[01:36:58] to relationships
[01:37:00] you know so I always tell people that
[01:37:02] are in these kind of positions you know
[01:37:04] don't don't try and you know parent
[01:37:06] Someone's Child because that's weird you
[01:37:09] know
[01:37:10] um really really try and get in good
[01:37:12] with the parents so you could gain their
[01:37:13] trust and see where that goes and they
[01:37:16] might be on your side and there you go
[01:37:17] it's building
[01:37:19] you see what I mean
[01:37:20] because they want you to believe that
[01:37:21] you're all by yourself
[01:37:23] and you may not even know that you're
[01:37:24] not the parents might be like what
[01:37:27] what do you mean talking about abortion
[01:37:30] where do they hear that
[01:37:33] you see what I mean that might happen
[01:37:34] and it took you to respectively go have
[01:37:38] a conversation with the parents just
[01:37:40] you got to find a way you got to find a
[01:37:42] way to maybe not come out the gate and
[01:37:44] just say hey I heard this that I were
[01:37:45] just
[01:37:47] um just want to build relationships with
[01:37:49] the students or the kids here with the
[01:37:50] parents and would you guys like to hang
[01:37:52] out sometime and get to know me I just
[01:37:53] think it would be beneficial for our
[01:37:55] community let's give it a shot that's
[01:37:57] what I would do I mean that's what I did
[01:37:58] as a youth pastor I really tried to gain
[01:38:00] the respect and trusted the parents
[01:38:02] and it kind of helps you know when the
[01:38:04] parents are dealing with the kids and
[01:38:05] they come in and makes it a little
[01:38:06] easier for me
[01:38:08] to deal with them so thank you
